replace MDAII case to XDAII case - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

hi, does anyone know how to replace the mda2 case (i don´t like the black inlays) to an xda or i-mate case (or unlabled one) ... do they fit(i think so)?
where can i get spare-parts?
(there are no defekt devices on ebay)

they should fit i mean it's the same device all himalaya's should be the same
where you can get it ?
dont know that
also not sure if you mean case as in the front and back plates of the device
or the case as in what you put the device in and often have a beltclip option

i mean the front and backside plates, not cases for carrying around..

let me know if you find any outer cases/facias i need one too.
I will do the same.

If you're in Hong Kong I would be happy to exchange my case / device with you, because MDA 2 is rare in here and I like the style of it much more then the XDA 2.

spare parts are hardly needed also by me
most needed for me is an replacement knob for the scroll-button (T-mobile mdaII) - got a cut on it

Swap shop
Maybe there are people who would like to swap their mdaII cover for xdaII cover
I like the black bits on my mdaII

so, no one inhere with an manufactor connection or repair center ????

You might try here...
http://www.accordccs.com/
Club I-mate lists Accord as a service center... don't know if they ship parts though...
While we are on the subject of parts.. anyone got a spare black antenna cover?

02 Black Housing Casing, can you buy them?

Hello, I have droped my phone and have a nice little scratch on her, so I want to buy another Housing Casing for it, I might have a look at the black ones, do you know where you can buy these from?
Many thanks
...and how pray tell do you plan to switch them if you were to get one?
??????
WHAT
??????
you mean undo the screws and then swap it? Cant be that hard, Ive done a P800 before. Those cases are easy to buy.
i'm curious too.. do they sell replacement 02 cases? and maybe that could fix the keyboard hinge problem.. if its part of the casing..
I have the same problem: Scratches in its house,
How & where can I get replacement house??
Waiting for reply
Have a word with fluffcat1 as per this post
He has the Orange M2000 housings and maybe has some O2 XDA ones left as well.
Tim
YEah it would be great if SOME CASE COMPANY out there or O² themself starts modding new housing replacements due to fact that it scratches easily! Dropped my O² the 2nd week I got`em due to a stupid clear case which splits into two revealing atom on a road tar

you might want to try searching on ebay.
the last time when i was surfing, i found 1 guy selling the whole front part including the screen n keyboard, for 99 pound i supposed.
Check around guys, I have definitely seen them on sale from a proper E-tailer.
any luck anyone?
I've got the complete XDA IIs original housing (incl. buttons) for USD60. I'll share the pictures when I got them delivered.

Can you still get the black casings? What price to zip code 62626?
They sell them at Brando nowadays.

just ordered an alu case for the Imate PDA2K/Qtek9090/MDAIII

I just ordered an alu case for my PDA2K LINK TO ALU CASE , for 24 euros it's not too much either
Because I ordered the JAM yesterday at that shop too, and they have to ship it from the Netherlands to Belgium, I told them to send it together with the JAM next week.
I'll post some pics for you guys next week...
edit: just saw they got a lot off types of cases for the PDA2K...
Just wish they had one for the JAM too :-(
that looks nice, do u kno if there are more pics available and pics from u would be great... do they ship to the US?
They ship everywhere in the world. Cause they have to ship it for me from the Netherlands to Belgium (not as far as US  ), but I don't know what the shipping fee will be for US, you might send them a mail at [email protected] and ask them.
As soon as I got it (can be any moment) I'll send you some pics.
I just received the same case from Brando (HKG) and it is simply too bulky (I have cases made by the same company for the Treo 600 & HP 2215), but the one for the PDA2K is way too thick IMHO. The upside is that it affords very good protection while allowing good amount of button access.
Would this case be much more like it?!
Anyone can help me to choose between the upper one of VW_ELM of this one:
http://www.innopocket.com/web/showProductDetail.asp?ID=126
The innopocket one is of new design (flip) but it definitely looks a lot more fitted than the one with flip on the side.

So, the other one (Brando of PDAir) is very large fitted around the device? That should mean that it is not very usefull!
Is it also not usefull, because the device isn''t very easy to slide out?
Can anybody state if the case not from innopocket is usefull and good fitting? Or isn't it?
Bugga Bugga bugga I want one but in sterling Prices!

Don't know about these aluminium cases - they don't have anywhere for my credit cards or licence. I think I'll stick to the leather case by Krusell.

Any loss of phone/Wi-Fi reception with the Alu case on?
Hi!
Have you noticed any decrease of phone or Wi-Fi reception with the Alu case on, as was the problem with the XDAII Alu cases?
Thank you!
Chris
Anyone has the metal case already? Was wondering about some experiences!!!
Anyone has some experience with Innopocket? Was wondering how long shipping would take!
I always carry my qtek 9090 in my pants, I don't want a whole case for my qtek for it adds to much thickness. What I am looking for is some sort of plastic lit to protect the screen, something like the lit that came standard with the iPaq 38xx / 39xx, does anyone know if this already exists for the qtek 9090?
Anton
i ordered the one from http://www.innopocket.com
it is aluminum, and has a clear plastic front.

I'm thinking about getting one of these aluminum cases too and was wondering the same thing. Do these effect reception?
I'm more concerned about phone reception than Wi-Fi. I currently have an aluminum case for my Toshiba e755 PPC, and it hasn't really hurt my wifi reception too much (then again, I'm usually within 15 feet of my router).

Wow, I really like that case (with the clear plastic front). Couple questions...
* I noticed it has a hole in the back for the camera, can you take pictures okay with the case on?
* Can you pull the keyboard out without problems with the case on?
* The case I have for my Toshiba e755 left a few scratch marks, did this one do the same to the blue angel?
* Any complaints about the case?
Thanks!

Looks like there's a problem with the microphone hole.
There is a problem with the mic as in no hole at all. You either have to open the case to speak or drill a small hole as I have done to remedy the problem. I hope the mfg will correct this issue for others.

Skin case ?

Are there any skin cases for the Wizard, like the iSkin ?
Ideally, with a slot on the bottom for the keyboard...
There is already a silicone case for the dopod 838 [WIZA100] unfortunately you can't use the keyboard with the case on. I'm using this case until I find a nice leather case or metal case for my dopod. it seems all the cases coming out are for the Qtek and O2 versions [WIZA200?].
where can you get hold of one of these skins
They are widely available at Wan Chai Computer Center in Wan Chai Hong Kong or Mongkok Computer Center. If I recall correctly they have Frosted White, Blue, Pink, Black [which I have] it's around HKD 100 [of course you can haggle a bit]. Remember this is for WIZA100 [dopod 838] and will not allow you to use the keyboard. See the pic...
i've seen the same thing, i think on ebay, for the wizard wiza200 but i doubt you could slide open the keyboard on that one aswell..
I doubt they'll be able to make a silicone case that allows free use of the keyboard [although I hope I'm wrong]. The slider seems to pose a big problem in case making.

Hi Bnycastro,
Would the Dopod 838 Skincase fit the Tmobile MDA Vario?
edojo: AFAIK the Tmob MDA vario is a WIZA200 model. So it wouldn't fit as the dopod 838 is a WIZA100 model [the VPA Compact and the Cingular 8125 are WIZA100s] Qtek9100/imate k-JAM are WIZA200's. Hope this helps.
Go to boxwave.com and make a request. They claim that if they get enough requests they release the product. Go to the link at the bottom to request a product for a device and then make sure "Flexiskin" is checked. It is probably a good idea to mention all the Wizard's aliases (MDA Vario, Qtek 9100, I-mate K-jam) so they see it is a device in alot of user's hands. I owned one of these for my Treo and it was outstanding.
Made a request, we'll see if they see any money in it...
Just get mine from eBay, cost me $26....but it works good
This case not only hold the PDA, but also hold two miniSD cards.
Just ordered one from Piel Frama: http://www.pielframa.com
For the Wizard specifically: http://www.pielframa.com/menu_qtek9100.htm

Yes that's been available for ages. I think what most of us here want is a skin case for the Wiza200 (instead of the Wiza100).
Ah, my mistake. Good luck, then 8)
man, why is it so difficult to find a skin for the TMO MDA.
yea and after seing this looks like we may never see one. the new phones got them already so we probably wont see one.

Wizard Battery Cover

Does anyone know where to buy a new MDA Vio battery cover?
one of the clips have broken of, due to a heavy drop
thanks
i used super glue to fix the broken clip..
but does anyone still know a place to buy a new cover from?
nope.. closest thing is getting an extended battery which comes with a replacement cover ( as it'll bulge out %) )
edit: typo
hmmm at the moment, it look normal and is sorted....spoke to my cousin...he'' sort me out with the replacement cover
A $500 phone with a 10 cent cover. Go figure. Mine falls off too much, seem to be always looking for it. (TMo MDA)
HTCeurope.com (and apparently HTCamerica.net) sell them.
GBP 10 incl postage
if u wanna donte ure old one lemme know the little rubber strip fell off of mine so I'm looking for another piece of rubber to shape to fit....or will gladly take ure old one if u don't want it

yes please...keep me posted of when and how much $$ for a cover
Thanks
I'm still looking for the battery and antenna cover of a cingular *8100* (dunno if any other provider has those wizards without camera)....
TauTau - try with Dopod? They make the same models.
(For the curious, the Cingular and Dopod Wizards are different in terms of faceplates/button layout from the Qtek/iMate/etc. ones)
seems they only have the dopod 838, which is the one with camera... they have nice phones there btw...

Needs to fit Wiza100.
I have some new battery covers and housing parts right now, mainly for O2 XDA Mini S. But also one for T-Mobile MDA Vario and for VPA Compact S.
Feel free to contact me via P.M.

Looking for Hard Cases for Softbank X01HT in Hong Kong

Hello guys,
I'm looking for a hard case for my x01ht, since dopod 838pro's crystal cases do not fit and i dont like silicone case as well.
anyone got one in HK? if so where?
If i can't find it, i am looking for a 838pro housing as well in hong kong... anyone know where i can find em cheap?
i have same problem....
i was using soft silicone case but the hard ring that clip on the side of the X01HT is easy to be broken. i have the machine for just 2 month i already killed 2 cases(momex brane)
now i dun use any case....just consider if one cost 35HKD...i keep replacing it per month the amount a pay is almost enough to have a case replacement, i mean the whole stuff.

I had the same problem before with those piece-of-crap Momax and other no-brand soft silicon cases... and one day I spent HKD80 on a Capdase one, and never regretted. Not only it also protected the plastic around the camera, came with a plastic screen cover, and a keychain, the most important point is: IT'S FREAKING DURABLE!
and ...where can i got one in mainland....
oh yes..the capdase one is damn good....
but 80HKD..i'll probably pay double for leather case
it make u look much more like a successfull business man
lol
btw...i think tytn is right on the size limit, better with no case or else it will sized like a real brick...
and if u r sayin in mainland....the brand in china is "卡登士"
but just aware of those imitation one
