What ROM for XDAII (Australian User) - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Should I stick with 1.66.00WWE or move to the 1.7X ROM??????
Also what type of Bluetooth head sets are you all using, any specific recommendations or success??
Thanks!

I'm still using the 1.66.00WWE that came with my device.
I'm using the O2 Bluetooth headset and have had no problems with it at all - voice quality is fantastic, battery seems to last for ages and I've never lost bonding...

I've been working in Malaysia for the past 4 years and about to return to Sydney. I have the 1.66.00WWE that came with my device and will probably keep it.
I'm using a Logitech BT headset and thought it is bigger than the SE-HBH 60 I had previously it is a lot more comfortable to wear, sounds clearer (to me and the person on other end of call) and has a longer battery life.
Very happy with it.
Ed

Thanks guys, appreciated.

Im in Melb, using 1.72.00
I havent had any problems with it, but I dont use BT headset, I do use a BT GPS quite a lot and have had no problems.
But I havent noticed that upgradeing from 1.66 really added anything worth while either. As I havent had any problems Im not going to downgrad either, but I would not recomend upgrading unless you are having some particular problem until the SE version finally comes out.

Just remember you are using Optus network, and I think after you upgrade you do require some patch in order for you GPRS to work.

Gee, guys, you're all well ahead of me... I'm still runnning mine with the 1.60.00WWE (ex. ROM 1.60.44)... wonder when I'll see an upgrade...
Besider the older version - everything's fine

I ended up trying both a Belkin and also Motorola head-set. Both had very poor quality for the inbound direction of the call, filled with crackle and echo.
My outbound direction is fine........
Anyone got a suggestion?

BT headset and WM2003SE problem

I have been using WM2003SE for almost 2 weeks now, and I am very satisfied with it.
I have one problem though with the BT headset. The BT headset AND the speaker on the phone is always on, when in a call. It has the advantage of being able to make conversations in stereo (phone on one ear and headset on the other) Apart from that, it is rather annoying because it seems like the microphone in the phone is the only active microphone (the receiving end is complaining of difficulties of hearing me, when I get away from the phone).
How do I become able to switch between the phone and the headset again?
BT headset: Jabra 250
PDA: Qtek 2020
ROM: 2.02.t1WWE
Radio: 1.18.00
Protocol: 1337.38
ExtROM: 1.72.125 (not sure witch)
Regards Steen
i'm using jabra 200 and works fine with me. try pairing again with the device.. it might works
Thank you for the sugestion - but I have tried that - without any luck
/Steen
I'm having this problem too with my motorola HS810 headset.
I'm sure it wasn't like this at first though. I've installed bluetooth tools and tried re-pairing, everything I can think of (except a hard reset - I guess thats next though).
What apps do you have installed, perhaps we have some in common and that's causing the problem?
This never happen to 220CHS
I'm getting the same issue with my HBH-600!
The CHS ROM, i thought this was Chinese....can i install as english?
Different ROMs
Hi guys!
Looks like some of you are using two different ROM versions, 2.02t and 2.06.
Only the first one supports, finally! the hands free profile, with the inconvenience of playing "stereo" when a headset is identified as "hands free".
The 2.06 version, does not support handsfree at all, so I discarded it after a bit of testing in my machine.
(Can't help with CHS versions, sorry)
For more info read my thread in BT carkits.
Hope it helps.
Had the same problem. After 3 hard resets and trying a different BT headset I finally found that installing Bluetooth Tools fixed the problem. will try it out tomorrow and see if it works OK.

HBH-600 Sony Ericsson Headset and WM2003SE

I upgraded last week to WM2003SE using DCS's posed files and DJRM's orange ext rom. on the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13588&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
and although i am only learning about this stuff, it went like a dream. My upgrade was from 1.66 which was incredibly unstable (even though I removed all but the basic programmes) and required 2/3 soft reset every day.
Anyway it has not required a single soft or hard reset and as I say I've been going over a week now.
At the same time I bought a Sony Ericsson HBH-600 bluetooth geadset (lost my jabra 200) and it bonded first time no problem. However virtually nobody can hear me although I can hear them. I worked out that the phone mike is still working but the headset mike is not. So the only way I can get anyone to hear me is to hold the phone next to my mouth with my headset on to hear people - sort of defeats the object.
I have reset the phone, reset the headset, unbonded, rebonded, set as hands free, not set as hands free and it is always the same. I have taken it back got a new headset and its exactly the same.
Am I missing something?
Is it anything to do with the BT upgrade in WM2003SE or in the DJRM ext rom?
I can not help you with the problem - but maybe I can make you feel better, telling you that you are not alone :?

I sure hope someone is able to solve your problem - and it is not because of pure empati that I in that case will be very happy

WM2003StEreo (Phone/headset)
It works on 2.20CHS without problems
Just to confirm that i'm also having the same problem with 2.02.t1WWE and this headset.
Hope that someone has a solution soon, i very much like the new ROM...bluetooh is much more stable, however is fairly useless if no one can hear me !!
Living in hope......
PS - that last post was from me, fogot to login.
Also are you noticing that this headset has very poor battery life!
Same problem with my HBH-65. Finally fixed it by installing Bluetooth Tools.
I tried Pocket Bluetooth tools and that was no good, so changed to 2.20.07CHS and it worked first time and seems quite stable so we'll see how it goes over Christmas
I am planning to buy the Akono Headset HBH-600 for my Qtek 9090. ( I have ROM version 1.22.00 WWE / date: 10/22/04 / extrom: 1.22.5556 WWe. ) Can anyone tell me if it will work with my Qtek 9090?
Tnx in advance!

Jabra 250 BT Headset Sounds Faraway

Hi,
I recently upgraded my ROM to version 2.06, radio 1.18 and used Sins Ext Rom version 3.5. Since the upgrade, when I use by Jabra 250 BT handsfree, people are complaining that i sound faraway or on the other side of the room when i talk. I can hear others fine. I never had this issue with my 1.60 rom that came installed with the phone.
I actually have 2 of the Jabra 250 and tried bonding with both devices to rule out a hardware error with the hands free itself and the problem occurs with both units.
I did have Pocket Bluetooth tools installed at one point and removed the program from my device and that is the only thing i can think of that might have screwed with the Radio or the BT.
Anybody out there have any ideas,
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny,
I did the upgrade this week end.
I have the same problem.

Hi,
New upgrade to Rom 2.20
The bt Jabra works ok.
Heya Universed,
I had the same problem when I bought my BT250, I realised that why I sounded so far away was because the headset's mic was disabled and my voice was being picked up by the XDA mic.
There are a few forum topics regarding loss of mic depending on ROM version.
I am using ROM 2.06, radio 1.18 and sins EXT rom 3.5, but I am using pocket blue tooth tools and only bonding the 250 as a headset (there are work-arounds for handsfree but the 250 doesn't seem to like them ie the mic gets disabled).
I haven't yet been able to have a handsfree solution for my 250 though hopefully a proper (not converted) ROM 2.20 may solve this.
Craig.
Well,
I ended up reflashing my ROM and building everything over from scratch and the problem has gone away. So there must be some sort of configuration issue between the 2.06 ROM and other 3rd party software that I had installed.
This time around i have yet to install Pocket Blue Tooth Tools and have yet to reisntall Voice Command 1.5. So don't really know the underlying cause but have rectified the problem just for today.
I like the idea of upgrading to 2.20 Rom but i am understand there is no English version out for my Asia copy O2? Lemme know ifI I am incorrect on that count?
Thanks,
Danny

Problems connecting Motorola HS850

Newbie question.
I've successfully connected a Moto hs850 BT headset to my O2 XDA 2s. Problem is, I can make outgoing calls no problem but when others call my phone, neither the XDA 2s nor the headset rings... the caller goes straight through to my voicemail.
Phone works fine when the bluetooth is off.
I must be missing something. Consulted the manual and trawled this site but cannot find the answer.
Any help out there?
ROM 1.12.62 WWE
Radio 1.02.00
Protocol 1337.32
ExtROM 1.12.178 WWE
What version of BT Manager are you running? i think 3900 is the latest and can be found here. Also the Radio Rom 1.02 is pretty old as well; I would upgrade to the latest BT manager and go from there.
Moto HS850
Thanks for that.
I've upgraded the radio to 1.13 and the BT to 3900. Now I can call out and receive calls no problem except for one MAJOR pain in the ass...
When the device goes into standby mode, a received call will not wake up the device and reconnect the BT headset in time to answer the call - I have to answer it via the device green button. I've looked through the forum and found that a few people have had this problem. I realise that not going into standby mode burns up the battery more quickly but I'm hoping for a way to get a compromise... i.e. standby for the screen and the processor, but bluetooth and the headset connection still active.
I've yet to upgrade my ROM to 1.31 (from O2 UK/IRL) or 1.40 if I figure out how to rejig the iMate ROM for my XDA. Has anyone had any experience of a ROM upgrade helping (or worsening!) this problem.
Better yet - anyone have a workaround?
Your advice is much appreciated...

i'm using I-tech with no problem on WM6.1
I don't know the solution, but I know the problem.
I red about it before, and I have red the solution, but because I don't use such configuration, I didn't took notice of it.
In general, you need some additional software and/or regsettings to redirect the sound. Best thing to do is to use the "search" option in the top-bar of this forum.
Succes!
I´m using the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 on my prophet and it is working just great. Excellent soundquality.

Hello buddy, first you have to tell people which particular ROM version and phone and include the radio version that you are using before someone can give you a proper answer. I am using the same SonyEricsson BT and iTech BT and they are all OK. NO BLUETOOTH give you good stereo quality as wired ones. I have many BT headsets and my BT headsets cost are as much as I have paid for my phones.
Now, back to your problem. Flash a ROM, any WM6 ROM. There are quite a few good chefs here, Cloudyfa, Korand, Swiftblade, Gullum ..... just to name a few in random orders.
Before you load any other applications, test out your Wifi, Bluetooth, GPRS and Dialer. If you found you got problem with BT switch to another WM6 ROM. If you tried two to three WM6 ROM and still got the BT problem, you may have a hardware problem. Only the salesman in the local phone store can help you then. If you found BT is not a problem then go back to your WM6.1 ROM. If you have a problem then, nothing you can do except report to the chef and wait for next revision. Meantime, you may try different one even that may not be your favorite choice. Each person has difference preference. This is Prophet forum, you are lucky, there are so many chefs and so many ROM's you can choose from. If you are like me, also have an AtomExec, there is only one cook for it in this whole world for WM6.1 WWE, two cooks for WM6 and none of the existing ROM's are without a serious bug. The phone company was taken over and support is nil. If you are angry, that is to yourself. Who told you to buy a PDA phones. Just like most my friend just get an ordinary (free) cheap phone and use it as a "phone". I hardly heard they have any complaints and obvious they have gain a lot more sleeping hours than I. It is now 3:15 AM my time, and I am still looking for a holy grail (more than one) for my WM6.x phones!
Hi,
Have the same issue with while connecting the phone to my car with BT.
It was perfectly working while on Windows Mobile 2005. The first ROM based on WM 6.0 (Mr Cloudyfa has cooked that rom but I cannot remember the reference) was also working perfectly.
Then I tested Transformer 1.1 and I started having some random issues: Sometimes, phone was not switching the sound on the car (in and out), sometimes it was working quite good.
I recently updated to Hma4 Crystal 5.1, Mr Cloudyfa Shadow 2.0 TE and Korand 3.1 and systematically sound is not switching on the car. On all the tests I made, I had only the chance to have a proper conversation twice
