Do a hard reset -> press the power button and the reset button at the same time
i've done it already and still hangs...
Reflash the rom with one from your original operator. If you're using an o2 xda please download a rom from www.my-xda.com and follow the on screen instructions.
well my friend i think somehow ur OS is lost and all u still have is the extended rom OS image,that's why u still see the splash screen...
i assume that ur device is a himalaya(though u did'nt mention any informations :wink: ),but if really is,then do the following:
1-log in to this forum as user:xda pass:xda
2-go to ftp server from the wiki page(up left ur screen)
3-go to himalaya folder and download any rom u would like 2 have(it can appear in several way,exe file or several files zipped in a .zip)
4-if it's and exe file and u have winrar,then extract the content in a folder,u will find 6 files(maybe less,rarely 1 file more-xda2nbftool.exe-),now forget about this file for the moment
u will need 2 file to fix ur phone:nk.nbf & HimauUpgradeUt.exe(i idvice u to dowload an O2 rom upgrade to prevent country id error wich can be fixed if necessary )
now that u have the tools,do the following:
1-press power button+navigation pad(the round one between the green and the red buttons)+reset button SIMULTANESLY,u will enter bootloader mode(blank screen with serial on the upper side of the screen,number like 1.06 on the buttom)
2-put the cradle in usb port DIRECTLY IN UR COMPUTER NOT THROUGH USB HUB
3-put ur phone in the cradle while it's in bootloader mode,u will see that the serial word in the upper screen have changed into USB
4-run HimaUpgradeUt.exe and follow the on screen instructions,u will see a status bar,wait untill it finishes,hard reset ur phone,and here we go
i forgot to mension that u should put those 2 files(HimaUpgradeUt.exe & nk.nbf),in a separate folder,close any open task on ur desktop/laptop,and PUT UR CHARGER IN THE CRADLE for the battery don't run out...

dead XDAIIS (in bootloader mode) please help..

My XDAIIs is in bootloader mode (it shows serial--> at top and V 2.07--> at bottom, and doesnt turn to usb when i plug into my usb port). Does anyone know how to fix it? Please help....

i'm sorry.
i was referring to the stuck in splash screen.
after the hard reset, autorun was initiating installations for the contents of the extrom. i installed each and every item and at the end of it, it required resetting. i just clicked on yes to reset, then when it did, it just stops at the splash screen. i tried waiting for an hour or so, maybe it would just come, but still to no avail. i tried re-installing everything, but still the same thing. but when i tried NOT TO INCLUDE the ARABIZER, everything worked just fine.
now, i'll just pray for two things, 1-that you can help me solve this problem, and 2-that the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train.

now if u still have a 2003 OS on ur device,wich i doubt it,(i've read ur post in the thread How can I increase Storage memory in WM 2005),then ur problem can be solved inchallah :wink:
*if ur device is i-mate,do the following:
1-remove arabizer from Ext ROM,so ur device can enter OS
2-install arabizer cabs after being in the OS
download arabizer cabs from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=6292
*if ur device is not an i-mate,then u have to wait untill my no brand arabizer succeeds.... :wink:

Hey bro since you have an Imate! Download this file from clubimate http://www.clubimate.com/support/PPC/ROM/RUU172810WWE_CDL_SKU2.exe and flash it.
I'm sure your problem will be solved for sure
Ps : RUU172810WWE_CDL_SKU2.exe is just the Arabic Extended Rom

1. The one I said worked is for my xdaII, but only to pass the MODEL ID error (it runs well, after i use your attachment file. I upgrade it to O2 ROM upgrade 1.66 WWE). However, After finish upgrading, It still stuck on O2 splash screen.
2. Now, Im facing the other thing. "the dead XDAIIs". Its screen only appear O2 splash screen when i put on the battery(even i already did a hard reset). Then I tried to change mode into bootloader mode (by pressing power button, record, and reset).in the end, after I did an upgrading. it also stucks on O2 splash screen.
Please help...I dunno what to do anymore..

I've done all search BUT still can not solve out my problem.
I tried to upgrade my current ROM (1.03) to 1.60 BUT when upgrade in process; suddenly it said cannot find the device(XDAII).
At that time I took out the machine from cradle and did soft reset. And put it back to cradle to continue upgrade. And the error message still said it still can not find the device.
When I tried to enter into Bootloader mode and USE ROM on SD to restore my original ROM, BUT I tried the method mentioned in some post;
still cannot go to BOOTLOADER mode. On the screen it always said " Serial on the top.
Could anyone help me please?

i even tried with Qtek Rom, MDA rom... still not working.
When I turn on the xda II, it only displaying serial on top and v.1 06 at bottom.
tried to run the xdaII upgrade rom with the error :

If I try with QTEK and MDA Rom it just does nothing, or it hangs for a long time..

if you have something written on the screen; such as SERIAL V1.06 then in my opinion you're still okay. do a couple of hard resets, put the unit back on the cradle and double click the upgrade file again. a lot of chaps ran into this same problem but eventually got it going again.

I have the same problem b4, its frustating to see my XDA become an "expensive brick". After trying everything finally worked. What i did, after u turn on your computer plug in the cradle and also put the XDA into the cradle. Usually the computer didn't recognize it as Pocket PC, so u need to insert the companion CD to ur CDROM. After the computer install the driver, go to folder where ur upgrade file at. Click on HimaUpgradeUt.exe and follow the instruction until finish. DON'T FORGET not to disconnect the power or even take out the XDA headset from the cradle until finish. Good luck guys
i donwloaded something and putted it on my xda II, now it says serial and at the bottom vl.01 i can't use it it's tottaly black no hard reset works, HELP!

don't panic...
you are in bootloader mode.
you've probably executed 'enterbl.exe', which is a part of every upgrade.
just connect your device with your pc and run normal upgrade/flash procedure.

but i can't use active sync anymyore, i unzipped the thing i downloaded and now it got 7 options to choose from but when i click it it opens a install program and in big red letters ROM IMAGE FILE NOT FOUND

normaly we can only speak english here but we can make an exeption so you can speak german to me and i will speak english back. OK? or try the translator (www.freetranslation.com)
did you perform the hardreset?
activesync won't work aslong as serial is replaced by the word usb when in the cradle it's ok carry on with the upgrade
try another pc to upgrade!
thats happen to me too.. but...
i also try to install the downloaded items from this website (which is the new windows version 2003 SE), and soon after i start installing it, my desktop computer says "error has occure during the installation process".
:shock: i was very shocked when i see my device completely blank with a word says "USB (on the top)" and "Ver. 1.03 (on the bottom)".. i really panic beacuse my active sync doesn't worked.. but then i start to hard reset my xda then reconnect my device and try to install it several times (bercause sometimes the error message still appear..) after waiting for 5 step of installation which takes abaout 2 hours
tadaaaaaaa now i have an XDA IIs application on my phone...
So in conclusion:
1. do't be panic :wink:
2. try to hard reset ur device
3. reconnect ur device (even if the activesync won't recognized ur device)
4. Install the downloaded files..
5. wait until ur computer says "deleting extended rom" (or something like that)
6. be patient..
7. Pray to GOD..
8. and here you go you got new look for ur beloved xda.

While updating my Himalaya device to the XDA2jojo v3.2z5 (not the first time I have installed this version) it has gone completely blackscreen.
I have tried to soft, hard reboot the device. I have also tried to initiate a reinstall with connection error failure. I have tested the batttery and it is okay. No matter what I do I cannot get the device to come back to life.
If I plug the device into the cradle or attach power I get a red light where there is normally the green flashing or orange power light.
Anyone any ideas what this could be.

I have an XDA Atom which turns on upto O2 screen and freezez right there .. i tried to hard reset the phone but failed..
When i press power on and reset button .. screen asks me to press green and red key when i do it says clean boot .. and than do u want to reset your phone ? and than after that i tried to press all keys but nothing happens ,,,
I dont know wht is the problem but i think or assume that i have lost bootloader and or Rom ,,, Please help with this part

Anyways, the Atom does have the tendency to lose track of its own extended ROM (You can actually see this happening if you use the WM5 hidden storage revealer - which ironically happens to cause the problem sometimes as well).
Symptoms include:
- A phracking long boot time (>7 minutes, seems to hang)
- Screen goes out of alignment
- Camera, Autoconfig, Equalizer don't work.
- Hard reset doesn't help.
- EXTROM info is missing from device settings (shows as blank) - tho sometimes the device works without this anyhoo.
- CMOS version is also missing (the device definitely won't work in this case)
Probable cause:
- Someone or something just tried to write to your hidden storage root. (Eh?)
Far as I know there's no method to recover other than flashing your phone again. Just one of the design flaws of the Atom, I guess...
(Yes, I feel for you. I had to solve this myself too, and I didn't want to send it in. Thankfully, this isn't a common problem. )
I've just downloaded the latest Rom from seeo2.com hongkong and I had the very same problem.
My XDA Atom Exec is frozen at the O2 screen.

Well, my Atom Exec will do the same sometimes.
But the following method works everytime!!!
Take out the battery. Charge it with a charger until full !!!!
Put it back to the machine, it works every time !!!
Or you may try just charge it in the machine for a few hours and see if that works. Since I always have a spare battery charged, every time that dumb thing stuck, I just changed the battery and it waked up again.

You guys just need to go into bootloader mode before performing an upgrade. For the XDA Atom just press Power+Dpad(center)+stylus reset momentarily, and its now in bootloader mode. RUN again the Update program. If you still experience the same thing, the update file you downloaded might be corrupted. You have to download again and flash your device again.
Mine is still stucked in O2 though done all of the above ways,
got the new ROM and flash it, but still stuck in it.

You might want to send it in the the service centre for a check, just in case it's a hardware problem.. If you still face the same issue even without installing any software..
That's probably a good idea, but i'd like to try some tricks on many threads before.
And also I've heard that O2 service center are not cool

I will face the same problem if i install too much programs.. I guess it's either Pocket Plus, Diary 2 which is causing my problem.. Now wondering if i should change to Atom Life, since they announce WM6... If only there's a perfect phone.
Thank God, it's working after 5x flashing but it still had bug.
I still have to take the battery off for at least 15 minutes if I try to reset the Atom.

I just picked up one of these to play with.
Mine gets by the O2 screen but if I have a few apps on it it loads the Today screen but then freezes and won't let me access anything either by hard key or screen. Soft reset just repeats the cycle.
This is with only around 4 apps loaded. One of them must be a culprit?
By the way, it came shipped with WM6.0 (ROM: WWE_RC2170507B2).

while trying to update to the latest PV 4.0.0.0.6 Touch, i encountered an error..
Fine, reset the device, went to bootloader, started the PV_Temp upgrade file for my G3 dopod.
halfway, the update fails and says the NBF file cannot be used.
i've tried every other NVID rom and it is the same..
so now i'm stuck in the bootloader screeen and i can't do anything

check your .NET Framework and see if you have the 2.0 version installed. Reboot your pc and start again. We always experience these hiccoughs.

i seem to be able to flash the PV_TEMP ROM, it says on my computer its successful but my PDA just goes back to bootloader.
anyway, i'm installing .Net framework 2.0... will see how that goes..

so you know now what is the problem!
recharge it by connecting to a PC with USB and wait wait wait and hope for the best. Try recharging it by what ever means you can do. If you said, you are successful in getting PVtemp, then, try installing battery_status.cab (find it search it by google or whatever) and watch the battery_status line on the front page and wait for a + sign before the 100mA at the right bottom line to appear.
Wait till it is full, then redo step 2 again. I'm sure you can get over without getting the machine to the manufacturer for repair.

sayjeng, I got the same problem last week.
I couldn't use any RUU rom because of the corrupted nbf file.
The PV_TEMP rom worked but I was stuck on boot loader screen too...
I tried many times and with some random hard resets... Eventually, the fourth time , WM5 started...
My advice are :
- charge your battery by any means like SeaPea said
- reboot your desktop computer
- remove your (fully charged) battery from your phone for some seconds and put it back...
Really, I may have been lucky that time...
I just wanted to post here to say that I sympathize...

If your Radio Rom is crashed ... it stuck at Bootscreen too! After that it must run! it fix partition errors too.
ROm from dopod is 2.15..
my prophet is now on 2.20...
i can't flash it... i haven't been able to find a vendor rom wiht 2.20..

I got this to work using the guide - BUT:
Windows XP SP2 English was the key for me.
I used VMWare to do step 1 of flashing (NVID)
then step 2 of flashing I did on a separate PC.
Worked after so many different attempts
i am running on XP sp2 english.. not using vista..
problem is, i can't even hard reset my phone.. it just says Format is Failed.
but my phone seems fine and still responds to my plugging the USB in and reseting....

I don't know the version flashed on dopod because i buy it used.
My phone is dopod 818pro aka s200 or prohet.
currently in the phone is installed this rom (unknow)

tell us about what exactly your problem is, how dead is your camera?
Hi,when i push the camera button the pointer run but no camera appears.
is a hawdware or software problem?

First, you've got to make sure the button mapping......
Please go start menu >>> settings >> personal >> button....
and look for the pointed function...
sometimes you need to deselected and then select again
if you are an advanced user, go to the windows folder and try to start camera directly from there....
and sort out what is going on.....

Button remapped but not work.
Go to programs and tap the camera icon and not work,pointer run but nothing appears.
Btw i try to flash hardspl whit prophet tool 2.8,the flash appears ok but when the device reboot 3 color screan appears..
try to flash some images but same thing...3 color screen...
finally i reanimate the pda whit NVID_RUU and the pda is ok but is the same image found when i buy the pda...i think the last owner try the same procedure to flash but whitout success....and the camera still not work...
any suggestion??

2. FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES THERE,
3. AND BE SURE THAT YOUR HARDSPL IS REALLY DONE... JUST READ POST 1 THERE IS OK ..

Hi dioxda2,my dopod seems to not upgradable.
trying to flash spl whit some tools but remain 2.20.0001....hard and soft spl...soft spl seem to work better but when i flash a new rom all is ok on the screen but when pda reboot froozen on the first page (qtek,clouds and number version) all is the same whit all rom i tried but only the OS version change (10.0.0.0 or 7.0.0.7)...
any ideas??
1. download any rom from me,
2. active sync your prophet,
3. unzip my zip file with the password dioxda2 if asked,
4. double tap " upgrade "
5. follow the on screen dos instructions,
6. when you see the % process bar, just wait then,
7. let it stay connected with the PC until you see the "after hardreset screen",
8. DONE!!!!!

Hi dioxda2,downloaded all you roms and try 3 of 5.
All 3 rom say flash is ok but when pda reboot still in first page like all other rom i tryed...
is a bad block on my dopod or what??
put it on trashcan???
why only NVID_RUU flash ok????

No way, i decide to destroy my dopod,is not possible upgrade any kind of rom,only ruu and orange rom are accepted by this piece of s**t.....

why radiorom and splashscreen flash ok and spl and roms not??

Hi to all PDA masters there
I'm having exactly the same problem as above...My Dopod 818 G3 can't be upgraded with any Roms...It only works with NVID-RUU....With any other Roms,it stuck in the second splash screen....And with Nvid-RUU, the camera never works!!!With thanks to dioxda2 and Rondol1 who already tried to help me, I wanted to see if any one has got the same experience or not?..I aslo wanted to know it it's caused by a hardware problem,or it's a sort of software affect
So your camera got any problem before you upgrade to the new rom?? If your camera got that problem before upgrade, then your camera's problem, but no problem before flashing, then your ROM's problem. Try to search another stable rom for your dopod!
