Wallaby screen
Hope it's not too late... Me I'm looking for a spare lcd for my Wallaby. Mine has a growing blue stain and will soon need to be replaced...
What do you mean with "first generation"? Are there several? How do I detect the one I need? And what's the price?
Thank you
Monica

I hope there are more out there. I have a big blue/black spot now.

 X56 Broken Screen

I almost cried. The night before the cable arrived in the mail, the sx56 slid off my chest on to the floor, for I had fallen asleep on my couch infront of the T.V. with it on my chest. Horrible cracks in the screen and its oozing led blood. Give it to me str8, how totally ,utterly completely up a creek with no paddle am I . Who repairs this . I am in California. the shock will take some time to heal.

I've searched al over the net, but I couldn't find anyone who could deliver me an o2 lcd screen. Only o2 can repair it for 285 euro. If you find someone, please let me now.

Ipaqrepair.com repairs SX56 screens in the US. I got mine fixed there ,and the guy who fixes it is very quick. I had my digitizer done but he also does complete LCM replacements too. Just email them and you should get the info you need. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have an XDA with all it's parts in perfect condition.Something is wrong internally which basically means that there is no sound from it,but everything else is fine with it.
The screen and all other parts are in perfect working order, with no scratches at all(in facts it looks better than the XDA I use!!Such a shame!).
Anyway,I can sell it to you for spare parts.I will of course much less for the XDA than O2 charge.I will accept half of they ask for.Let me know if you are interested.
I am the guy with the offer of an XDA for it's spare parts.Thought I might leave my mail address in case you wanted to contact me.It is [email protected]. Please put something in the subject line to suggest what the mail is for(since I get a lot of junk mail,I don't open mails that I wasn't expecting).
Screen Repair
SX56 Screen Repair $215. The screen looks better than the original, it is brighter for sure. Got it back with a screen protector also.

[Q] What did they give me for a new screen?

My wife broke her screen on Friday and we went to a local shop to get the screen fixed yesterday.
This morning she mentioned that she thought the color on the new screen was different. She also pointed out that the buttons at the bottom didn't light up the same.
They practically don't light up at all.
The screen seems a bit dimmer as well. Not as bright and clear.
Is there any way that I can find out what kind of screen they put in her phone short of threatening to bulldoze the shop unless they put the right screen in?
I'm more than capable of dissasembling the phone without killing it and now wish I had but wifey wanted a working phone *today*
Can anyone help out? Are there any part numbers I can use to see what she's got now?
can you take a picture of the phone from upwards, and from sideways (to see if the screen is thicker than it should be)
sounds like it's a regular LCD screen

You can tell if its LCD by how deep the blacks are.

definitely got shafted. you got an LCD screen. i'm pretty sure the local shop orders their parts from eBay or some chinese supplier. those screens are usually LCD even tho some may claim its amoled. the only way to get a genuine Super AMOLED screen is to contact samsung to replace it. i remember reading somewhere than samsung is not distributing their Super AMOLED screens to 3rd parties

I used to be a cellphone technician for a short time and I can tell you that we fixed screens on a lot of touch screen phones... but all the parts are dirt cheap chinese knockoffs!!! There is NO local shop that uses original OEM parts!!! unless u send it back to tmobile or etc!
to answer short and accurate u didnt get the same screen ur vibrant came with!
^$%#
Now I really feel like a total idiot

Cali-for-nyee-aayyy Love, brah.
Oh! when I saw your hd2. I think we should double take care of our HD2.
Thats nothing this is what i did to mine:
Lucky seen as i had insurance so i got it a new phone to replace it
have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613954&page=24
You're not the first and not the last either, I bet. It happened to me too and I fixed it myself using the tips found on XDA.
The best one being getting a complete unit (LCD + Digitizer) and not just the screen.
I paid about 100 € on Ebay for the unit, came in about 3 dayx with the special tools shown on the leaked HTC video tutorial.
If I managed to do it, anyone can, believe me

Hello,
as far as I know HTC charge about 180 € ...
But you can have it repaired cheaper when you looking arround and find a local phone store.
I know what you must feel
@ceh01:
must say that pattern on yours is best so far
Hi,
HTC quoted £120 to repair the glass.
4 more month until i'm due an upgrade
Wondering if its worth it....
:S
man, some pretty bad looking screens here. i was soooo lucky with mine the other week. i was in the shed when i knocked my leo off the bench and it landed face down on the concrete, i well an truely shat my pants. god knows how or why but i got away with a tiny tiny crack in the top left corner, it really is so small its miniscule but i'll still probably blag a new screen through the bank insurance about a month before im due to upgrade.........

Dust issues resolved ?

So I know that htc went with a new method of screen the "zero gap". But I heard some people are getting black specks under there screens is this still happening for those who just bought the phone or exchanged ? I'm wanting to buy one but I don't want to through that drama that I did with apples iPhone 4s after 4 replacements have a decent screen!
Zero gap is great and I drive in a dusty ass truck 10 hours a day and every phone I've had got dust under the screen with in the 1st week. This phone hasn't and i think the people who have a specs under theirs has to be from the time of build or an actual dead pixel.

That's what I meant if a new purchase one had any dust from manufacture. But it's awesome to know thy no dust build up from day today usage. Thanks for the information much appreciated
I've had my phone for a week now and the only dust I have on the screen is from factory build. I don't plan on exchanging it because rarely doci get a phone that has no problems. The spec of dust is tiny and I don't see it unless its a white blank screen...and even then i have to look for it. My screen does have two dead pixels but the time I've seen them is with the brightness set to Max in a pitch black room and a perfect black sfreen. Even then I had to hunt for them. So given the fact i had to search that hhard for them ii call it a pass. (Yes this is how anal I am with my phones)
OK thank you very much so yours came with dust under the screen ? And when you say small like pen point size or smaller.

My first phone had dust under the screen from the factory -- it covered about three or four pixels, and was clearly lint or something like that. No problems with the replacement phone.

- = Help me fix my Broken Screen! = -

Hi everyone. Thanks already for having a look!
So I dropped my i9300 on my carpet, while i was taking it out of the case that I usually have it in ... and now my display doesn't work anymore
I still get my notifications beeps and emails are coming in, the buttons light but but my screen is dark (I see two fainted lines sometimes)
I see it is cracked on the inside but the glass is fine from the outside (really odd).
I am not sure if that's called a digitizer or LED pane or whatnot but maybe you can help me. Where would i get that part and how i could do that myself. All the tutorials i could find were for cracked screens (where the glass is busted)
Thank you very much in advance for the help!!
Sounds to me tat its just the beneath of the glass since the digitizer and all is in one piece. Not sure though. I think it is btr for u to just bring it to a repair shop.
