Problem with Polish and Czech T9 import - HELP! - HTC Hurricane

Hi, I have T9CzechLdb.dll (from German SDA II ROM) and T9PolishLdb.dll (from Polish SPV500 ROM), which contains those T9 languages and I want to install them to my C550. I made myself a CAB installer, which copies the dll into the phone and does 2 registry entries (to the HKLM\T9 Input Method\MUI\Languages and to the HKLM\T9 Input Method\LDBs). When its installed, it works perfectly UNTIL I reset my phone.
After restart, when I want to write for example a text message, the space char doesen't work, and no words menu appears. Not only in Czech lang. selected, but in ALL...
This problem disappears only, when I uninstall the dll and reset phone...
Do you know, where is the problem?
Thanks in advance for replies
PS: From september 2005 there is no such provider like "IDEA", we have "Orange PL" instead Just for explanation...

How to get Japanese fonts working on English ROM?

Here is the situation: I am one of these sorry Softbank users who have to resort to all sort of tricks to get their TyTn working in English using the Softback network. I flashed a WWE ROM and have now all services, including MMS properly working. Naturally the WWE ROM does not include Japanese fonts, and whenever you receive an e-mail in Japanese or want to browse a Japanese website you see only gibberish.
I tried to solve the problem with installing Askul's "LetsJapanNo5" cab that comes with Japanese fonts.
http://asukal.seesaa.net/article/6912738.html
It works for IE and e-mail, but unfortunately this cab is somewhat mixing up with tje English fonts: Suddenly certain WM 5.0 parts are displayed in Japanese as well, such as the "calendar" function in "Today", and there is suddenly an annoying mixture between English WM 5 fonts and Japanese fonts.
I then tried "CE-Star for WM5" advertised as "the first and only true Chinese/Japanese enabler software suite for Windows Mobile 5.0 based Smartphone."
http://microsoft.handango.com/Platf...&productType=2&platformId=11&productId=193804
After installing it, the same happens like with Askul's Japan cab. Japanese fonts become available for IE and e-mails, but again certain WM functions, like the "Calendar" in "Today" are displayed in Japanese and cannot be changed to English, also there is an annoying mixture between English and Chinese/Japanese fonts. I can only warn to use "CE-Star" from Mobem, because you cannot de-install it, and I had to hard-reset to get rid of the *****.
Any idea how to get Japanese/Asian fonts working? So that they can be selected for IE browsing like in Windows XP without messing up the entire WM installation?

there are samples of some free or free-ish... fonts and links to the sites where you can download those fonts.
if you have a pc with japanese win xp, you can copy msgothic out of c:\windows...
chainbolt,
i strongly recommend this font called Meiryo from Windows Vista. it works better with the clear type setting than any other japanese fonts. you can download it from here .
unarchive the lzh file and you will get the font file meiryo.ttc. just copy that into your \windows folder and make the registry changes as follows.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink\
there are four fonts Arial/Courier New/Tahoma/Times New Roman in this. change the font link of these all four to \Windows\meiryo.ttc,Meiryo and that's it.
btw, i use ce-star v28 and it works fine for me although it does have some glitches as you mentioned. it does have the uninstall capability though. it should be too late for you now but you can unistall it by Start->Programs->CE-Star->Uninstall.

Thanks a lot. I could smell already that I have to change some registry settings as well, not just copying the font into the Windows folder. Interesting that with ce-star. Do you also get "Date/Time" and the "Calendar" in Japanese?

Harry, thanks again. I have done all this, but no success, I can neither select a Japanese font for IE (in the option menue) nor can I read Japanese e-mail. It actually did not change anything. I of course made a soft re-set after changing the registry. Do I miss something?
hehehe, I found a way how to do it:
The new font has actually to be installed into Windows/fonts/
as described here here:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=24&p=1353&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
I can now open and read Japanese websites, but still Japanese e-mail comes in "blocks".

Thanks for that. That seems to be a very detailed description. My Japanese is not good enough, but I will ask the GF.
Locales and Date/Time settings
From my understanding of Asian languages on PPCs (only 2003SE, but I assume WM5 will be similar), the actual installation of the fonts as descibed allows Japanese to be displayed. The settings for Today (in fact, all regionalised date/time settings), are set in Regional Settings [Start -> Settings -> System -> Regional Settings]. If, after you've installed the Japanese enabler, such as CE Star, you'll probably notice that Japanese has been set in Regional Settings. If you change this back to English [and your appropriate locale, eg. English (Australia)], then, after a soft reset, date/time/Today settings should be in English again.
Note that these settings also affect the ability to restore from a backup using ActiveSync. The device to which a backup file is to be restored must first have the same locale set (in Regional Settings, or the registry) as that recorded in the backup file at the time of the backup.
This is set in the registry at HKLM\nls\DefaultLCID
-> For example, 0x404 (1028) is for Chinese (Taiwan)
It's also set in HKLM\nls\overrides\LCID
This may have changed in WM5.
Note that there are other settings in there which allow manual setting of Date/Time settings. For example, in HKLM\nls\overrides\SLDte, the System Long Date format can be set. I have manually set this to "dddd yyyy'年'MM'月'dd'日'". Instead of changing the Locale, you may instead manually set your date settings here.

i have installed ATOK for Pocket PC for the japanese ime.
note that it's not that easy to install this and you need to read this page qtotter mentioned in the later post for not having side effect problems. if you just install it, you'll be screwed.

that's bizarre. i have it installed in the \windows folder and not in the \windows\fonts.
you also need to check your regional settings (start->settings->system->regional settings) and change Region to Japan when you want the full japanese display capability, but this requires changing the nls. just adding a japanese font is not good enough. the only way to install the japanese nls file is either installing ce-star or Asukal's cab. you can change the date and time formats to english even japan is set for the region.

It's definitely in the "fonts" folder, as described in the "how to" I linked. It works for IE browsing, but not for e-mails.
I can't set in "regional settings" to Japan, because such setting does not exist in my WM 5.0 installation (WWE ROM 1.35).
I give CE Star now a second try.

well, burning a rom is NOT like installing an os as win xp... you do not choose the default region/language when you burn a rom. it just "burns" something like a fixed disk image onto the flash memory.
you can change settings including region/language on os, which means you do the same every time you do hard reset.

you can't set it to japan as you don't have the nls you need. if you are giving ce-star another try, i recommend that you turn off everything other than japanese in the options for installation if you don't need any chinese. when that is successful, you will have japan for the regional settings option.
True Type Fonts for the PPC are the same as for Windows machinese - any *.ttf file should work. It shouldn't matter where the physical font file is located, but settings in the registry will dictate whether the font works on the PPC system or not (both in terms of [a] System Fonts for Today, and Application displays, and availability of fonts to applicaions such as Pocket Word).
Firstly, download a font file (*.ttf) that contains your Japanese glyphs, and put it on your PPC (eg. in the \Windows folder, or elsewhere, such as \Storage\Fonts). Secondly, use a program such as InFont (http://www.insoftwarehouse.com/download/infont/xe.php?l=en), or FontOnStorage (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=726) to set up your fonts to be loaded when the device starts.
Then, using a program such as TillanoSoft PocketTweak (http://tillanosoft.com/ce/ptweak.html) - (see the Fonts tab), set the System Fonts (there are three of them - System Font, MenuBar font and Pop-Up font - this may be different on WM5) to a font that contains the glyphs you require - in your case, Japanese.
Note that this can all be done without an nls file for Japanese, or any other language for that matter, and avoids the use of CE Star, or the Japanese CAB (but does require other tools such as the Font Manager, or FontOnStorate).
This approach will also avoid any issues with English regional settings, such as Date Time formats, and phone number formats, from being changed.

Thanks mate..
Gullum any change you got any idea how to get this to work ?
I have the same problem, even tried to edit the registry (a bit too much), so now it doesn't even work in english ;-)
I will post how I solved it to get swedish to work later today, when I get to my PC.
Copy the attached files, except the .reg file to the windows folder.
Import the .reg file.
Change the registry key HKLM/Software/HTC/ezsip/LibraryCount to 16 (dec)
Soft-reset to be on the safe side and then you can choose Swedish language in the Touch Keyboard settings.
For other languages you have to figure out what files to copy and change the registry settings.
Good luck to you!
Great! Thank you!

Yes, you're right.
So there is probably only a reg setting left to get this working. Norwegian is currently not showing in the list of available languages in the touch keyboard settings.
can you help me with the portuguese language?!?!?!
Hei. The files in Gollums scandinavianX.cab is different than the swedishfiles.zip. How du I take out the norwegian files and the reg.file? Can anyone do that and make a zip of it like the Swedish files? We norwegians would thank you!
Take a look
Hey, I just posted a guide for Norwegian language here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350215
"Burde virke bra"
I can't seem to get this to work. For some reason, norwegian is not a choice in the languages dropdown menu. I have modified the LibraryCount to 16 (dec), which increased the amount of available languages, but norwegian is not one of them.
Have anyone got this to work?
Re
1.
Some keypad installers leaves a string called "AvailableLanguages"(Sorry if I misspell Available).
Where you can check if the language code for Norway is in fact there.
2.
Maybe you got more languages than 16, try to increase the number.
3.
But it sounds more like you need to get another cab installer for the keypad and try again.
Hope it helps!

WM 6 Graphite rom, how to get WMPlayer in English (now in Polish)

Hello
I have installed "WM6_v_2_0_Graphite.zip" on my SPV C550, very nice!
I have changed the language in the "regional settings" menu, so now it is in English, instead of Polish.
The only thing is: My WMPlayer is still in Polish How can i change it to English?
Oh, Total Commander was also in Polish, but i have downloaded a language pack from their site
Hy! I have the same problem with my phone, and don't know, how to... Can someone tell what can I do? I searched for other wmp10 for smartphone, but it is integrated on the ROM. Thx
Same problem by CeleTask
I had this problem with CeleTask, but I solved it. I replaced it In Windows folder of the phone with other CeleTask in English.
I think i have found the file.
It is "\Windows\wmplayer.exe"
Now i only need the English version of it
Somebody who is willing to upload the file, so i can copy it to my Hurricane ?
no, no. There are english version of WMP.
must to change other file. correctly language file for some programs must be *.0409.mui
I have found wmploc.dll.0413.mui
I copied wmploc.dll.0413.mui to the Windows folder, and tried to remove the wmploc.dll.0415.mui but i couldn't remove that one, i also tried it with Total Commander, but that also couldn't remove it.
How can i set WMPlayer to use my 0413 MUI ?
don't remove files lik .0415.mui or other
if you set english language, you must rename your file to wmploc.dll.0409.mui
Hy again! Which File should I rename, or change? I have another problem, the bluetooth settings are in Polish too. :S Can you upload the necessary files please? Thx.

How do i use a T9 language?

I currently use the erofich rom wm6.1 standard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422605 and im trying to get the chinese installed but after i install the cab, nothing happens.
here is where i got the cab file, i tried both the t9 on the top and the one made by some other guy. unfortunately when i hold * to change the language, only russian shows. anyone know whats happening? how do i use a t9 language?
http://melgurth.ovh.org/index.php?page=downloads
after installing the right cab you als have to modify the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\T9 Input Method\MUI\Languages]
add to "Available" the correct language code. This is a 4 digit code, i don't know the right one for Chinese, but you'll be able to find it somewhere around here.
restart your device and the added language will show up when you press *
Hi there,
before t9 is available, you have to install t9 english first to enable t9 chinese ... at least for my phone ... i am using same 6.1 std rom ....
so you are saying i need to convert to t9 instead of xt9 first and then add the registry key? is it possible to just use xt9 english + t9 chinese or no? that language combo number is hard to find..
Yes, convert to t9 first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=390709&page=2
then you can install the cab for chinese and modfy the registry
Is possible to change to spanish language ?

EzInput Greek Configuration

Please help me!!!
I bought a brand new HTC Touch2 in December 2009 from a local shop in Greece. Originally, it had the Greek ROM preinstalled (the menus, commands e.t.c. were Greek and it had a special Greek/English Keyboard with a special Language Switching button above the Shift button).
However there were some problems. The Greek translation was awful and the phone often crashed. So, I decided to flash the English ROM. I flashed the HSPL - which I found in this forum - and then installed the original WWE ROM from HTC Pedia. Unfortunately, this ROM doesn't include a Greek Keyboard...
I tried everything (Fixes, Registry Hacks, EzInput Packages, Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 and also tried to understand and edit the Registry keys: ezinput, ezsip, tegic). I realized that all the files needed for the Greek Keyboard existed in the Windows folder of the WWE ROM. So, what I need is the correct Configuration.
I am desperate... I don't know what to do. Can you help me please? Can you create a cab with the correct Configuration (either extracted from the Registry of a Greek ROM or cooked, maybe). Or, if that can't be done, can you upload a Greek ROM? I only need the Greek/English Keyboard (EzInput Configuration)...
Please, it is very important!
Thanks in Advance...
try ths keyboard is better:

I had a very similar issue as you, using a WWE ASIA ROMand wanting a special Chinese input. Same situation: All files seem to be there, but no idea how to get the keyboard. What I did was install the Chinese ROM (would be the Greek one for you), hard reset, select the wanted keyboard, and dump the registry to a text file.
Next I installed the "target" ROM (WWE ASIA for me, WWE from HTCPedia for you), hard reset, and dump the registry again.
Then compare both registry text files. I searched for everything that looked like ezInput related, and finally figured out that for me I needed to change the following:
Code:
1) Delete these 3 keys:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F50603D1-CF2F-41D8-A74B-651226633FF0}
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5AAFAF99-8D99-4466-A66D-95C44B608A84}
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{9E06C6B8-FE4D-4206-9A5B-6E4C1B8B6AD7}
2) in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ezsip] change the following values:
"CurrentSIP"=dword:00000da4
"HWChineseMode"=dword:00000001
3) in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Keytouch\Multiplay] change the following values:
"nSelectedIme"=dword:00000003
"DefaultIME"="ZY"
Maybe you can do something similar. Good luck!
PS: Here are my adventures described:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659970
Thank you very much for this keyboard!
It was just what i needed!
