tytn no ext rom - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

hello everyone i have tytn and i upload the jasjam rom and i try to go back on tytn rom it s not loadind the ext rom i try with jasjam and dopod same problem even if i try to load it with autorun but if i do it manuely one on the time it work but why my tytn dosen t upgrade everything with thr tytn rom.thanks

hey rorri, i'm not sure whether your problem has been resolved
you might wanna download fit4cat utility which can be found in the wiki
it works pretty well for me

thanks for ur help but usualy when you reload the tytn software it s not suppose to come with it cause the phone it s tytn the only way to put them is one by one manuely the auto run doesen t work.thanks

I think you may have found some of the ROM's have install programs that check the IMEI. Some routines are OK, but others (e.g., games) may not.
Good luck!

Upgrading Extended ROM with ER2003edit

Hi there,
I know, there is also a special thread regarding this issue, but my question is more general:
I want to upgrade the (write protected) Ext ROM of my XDA. As I do not have an upgrade tool from o2, I've downloaded the latest upgrade from T-Mobile Germany and followed Softworkz's instructions and made my own Extended ROM.
But now I am not sure, if it will be possible to flash my XDAII with the MDAII flash utility (will be flashing the ExtRom with o2 Files only). Do I need the original o2-Sofware to flash or can I take any HTCHimalaya-Software to flash my device?
Thanks for comments...
Bobopopo
Hi Bobopopo!
As stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6289 it's quite easy. You'll find a step-by-step How-To (in GERMAN!) here:
http://www.smartphone4u.de/xda2/tipps_tricks/extended_rom.html
And it works like a breeze! The only thing is that I don't know, whether your O2 xdaII will accept the T-Mobile ROM - but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.
Only issue could be the Radio Stack Upgrade, but I have no problems at all with the T-Mobile Radio Stack in the O2 network.
Also I don't know of a way to backup your original ROM of the xda II - but maybe theres still the bootmanager way to back it up to an SD-Card!
Grüsse,
Klaas.
Finally flashed the ROM of my German XDAII with a German T-Mobile ROM (1.60). Has been no problem at all and I am impressed how easy it was (using ER2003edit). The only thing I have to work on is the homezone control, it is not working yet but not so important anyway.
I cooked my own ExtROM, but I think it will need some more improvement.
1. Is there any tool that further compresses the Extended ROM? (My ExtROM ist full but I would love to put some more programs inside)
2. My target is, that the XDAII will need about 5 minutes after a hard reset to install all the required software and get back the old settings. Will a backup with ActiveSync also remeber the favorits, connection settings, program settings aso.?
3. Is it possible to flash with the speed of USB 2.0? Until yet I have only tried with USB 1.1. (because I use a PCMCIA-card to provide USB 2.0 and the flashing manual says not to use an USB hub).
Thanks for some more tipps & tricks...
Bobopopo
@bobopopo and @admiral_k
Hey, I see your are also O2 customers in germany and also have the
homezone feature of O2.
When you did the upgrade, you also upgraded the radio stack...
I think the homezone feature is linked to radio-stack, so Homezone-Control will not work with t-mobile radio-stack.
I see two options... leaving out the radio-stack upgrade or forget the homezone-control.
Could you please write your impressions if it's worth upgrading the radio-stack. Actually if have the homezone-control disable most of the time so I would not really care, but it's nice to know that i can check if I am in my homezone... ( really interessing if you surf the web via local dial-in numbers... )
regards
Alex
Until now I did not see any improvements on the Firmware of the XDAII, but the T-Mobile ROM is working fine...
Regarding the Homezone control, I am pretty sure that this has nothing to do with the radio stack (Reason: After upgrading the whole firmware, the Homezone has been indicated (after a softreset) and disappeared after the next softreset.
So I think the Homezone control is dependent on the Ext. ROM (that I cooked myself by taking some of the new T-Mobile Ext. ROM and some of the old o2 Ext. ROM). Maybe I just didn't find the right mix.
I'll post a solution as soon as I find one...
Hi guys!
I am in a simular situation, I hava MDA II with T-Mobile OS and a German O2 subscription.
I would like to add the auto config for O2, could this be done, if yes how specifically can this be done.

No Video phone for Softbank X01HT with Cingular ROM

Hi,
I just got my Softbank X01HT in Hong Kong to save some money instead of buying the dopod version. The seller use Cingular ROM version: 1.34.502.1. Everything is working fine but I can not use the video phone function at all. I know that Cingular 8525 ROM does not support this function and Cingular 8525 does not have front camera. Could anyone tell me what to do to activate this video phone function? Do I need to change the ROM? Or I just need to add additional cab program? Thanks a lot for your info.
i have an HTC 1/35, i can make a video call but the phone is sending a black screen - is this your problem?
btw, i can see the recipients cam.
i have exactly the same problem
no video calls function at all
using jasjam 1.31 rom
with 1.21 radio
Install TyTN ExtROM, one of the CABs there enables the video call. I can't recall which one.
Or search this forum, this is at least the 4th time this question has been asked.
When you find the solution, please add it to the wiki FAQs.
Thanks Pof. I did my homework and search the forum for the whole day but did not find exactly which file needed to be loaded for the videophone to be functioning. Anyway I will give a try to load the ext rom. The seller already did a good job loaded the Softbank with Cingular rom without any problem at all except one minor problem in the keyboard. The coma in the keyboard actually produce the dot on the screen. My question to you is When the seller already change the ROM from softbank to cingular does it mean that now my softbank already SUPER CID?
MT_PC_Hermes_HTC_REG_060918.CAB
from extended rom 1.35 does the job
add to wiki plz
u need to soft reset after install to get it working
I installed MT_PC_Hermes_HTC_REG_060918.CAB but did not work. I even installed the whole extended rom 1.35 without any result. I will try to load different version and keep you update.
Update:
I installed the the whole Tytn extended rom 1.18 into the softbank. The video phone function is appearing but the video button still did not work. I guess I have to put different ROM altogether to make it everything work.

these 2 cab files
MT_PC_Hermes_Qtek_WWE_060621.CAB
VT_Engine_23818_ext.CAB
seem to get the video call option to display when you hit the green button, but i have the same problem with the video call button not working
any one have any clues on how to get the video call button to work again from the cingular rom update?

WM6 Upgrade Guide

How to upgrade from WM5 TO WM6
To upgrade your prophet to WM6 I recommend that you first of all downgrade to the NVID version of WM5 AKU2.2 and get the latest Active Sync:
1. Download the NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 rom for WM5 here :http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe YOU CAN USE Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp INSTEAD OF NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 ROM...
2. After it has been downloaded get the latest Active Sync from Microsoft.com
3. Install active sync, you might need to reboot
4. When your computer has rebooted, run the file from step No 1 . Follow the steps, remember that it can take some time and seem to stuck at 80% and higher, but just wait.
5. When you have done this, your pda will reboot. After it comes with the welcome to windows mobile screen,"Tap Here To Begin",JUST LEAVE IT. In fact don't touch your device before the next steps are finished.
6. Now download one of the WM6 versions( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1279985&postcount=1 )
7. Now find a file named Upgrade.bat, and run it.(you don't have to run Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp,as you have already downgraded to AKU2.2)
8. Wait until the upgrade finishes(usually takes 12-15minutes)..WAIT WAIT WAIT
9. A message will be displayed in the dos box,and it will say that the upgrade is finished etc....etc...,now you HAVE to HARD RESET,to finish the upgrade and enjoy you new WM6!
How to downgrade from WM6 TO WM5
The downgrade process from WM6 to WM5 is pretty simple. All you have to do is to downgrade to WM5 NVID and after that upgrade to the WM5 you want:
1. Download the NVID(no vendor) AKU 2.2 rom for WM5 here :http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exeYOU CAN USE Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp INSTEAD OF NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 ROM...
2. After it has been downloaded get the latest Active Sync from Microsoft.com.. Simply search for "Active Sync"
3. Install active sync, you might need to reboot
4. When your PC is ready run the NVID file you downloaded in step1 and follow the guide, remember that it can take some time and seem to stuck at 80% and higher, but just wait
5. When its done downgrading to the NVID WM5 rom, you prophet will reset and you can upgrade to the version of WM5 you want.
NOTICE
If you use a different AKU 2.2 ROM(like PDAViet Temp),you may have two EXEs in the folder you extracted.Be careful and use the one that is made for your device:
FILENAME G3.EXE
is for G3 devices:IPL x.xx.0000, SPL x.xx.000.0 (this is shown when you reset)
FILENAME G4.EXE
is for G4 devices:IPL x.xx.0001, SPL x.xx.000.1 (this is shown when you reset)
RECOVERING FROM ERROR IN STEP 8 WM5->WM6
1. Don't panic
2. Don't panic
3. Unplug the phone
4. Reset with stylus, and keep the Camera Button pressed.
5. A 3 color screen will appear(Bootloader Screen)
6. Connect your device with your PC,and run the NVID(no vendor) WM5 rom.
7. The device will be resetted after RUU(rom update utility)finishes
8. Repeat the WM6 upgrade,from STEP 5..
How to switch or upgrade/downgrade between WM6 versions(for example PDAViet->Trueneytral)
1. First you have to downgrade to WM5 AKU2.2 using the WM6->WM5 guide(some say that you don't have to do that, but i believe that it's better to downgrade first rather than making a simple overwrite)
2. Now follow STEP 5 of the WM5->WM6 guide
Device doesn't connect to PC after flash
If your device doesn't connect to your PC after flash, just enter bootloader(press camera button+while pressing soft reset and hold, until a tri-color screen shows up),and flash the NoVendor WM5 Rom: http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe .Then repeat the whole process...
----------------------------------------------------------
KEEP IN MIND:
UPGRADING CAN BE DANGEROUS,YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE
DO NOT RESTORE BACKUPS FROM ANY ROM OTHER THAN THE ONE IT WAS CREATED ON
THERE IS NO "BEST WM6 ROM",THE BEST IS THE ONE THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU
(part of the guide is taken from Da9L's guide,in the WM6 Rom Collection)
I will edit/update this post soon and clean it up, ask questions in another thread, and by god please read the wiki first, 90% of the questions asked are answered in the wiki....

Edit: Now it works on an "old" WinXP machine.
Huge Problem!!
Ok guys I am having a huge problem. I tried to upgrade to WM6 but when running the RUU and changing the rom, it encountered an error saying the nbf file cannot be installed on my pda phone and now my phone is stuck(i think permanantly) on the bootloader screen.
No matter what I do to try to fix this, IE: restart device, power down by removing battery, try to run the RUU again, nothing helps. Its is really stuck and I really need this cell phone.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.
Dan.

Put you pda on bootloader mod... and try any of this rom's i have managed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316062
Stay cool!
I followed the instructions carefully, and my phone (Qtek S200) seemed to boot with WM6.0
However, after aligning screen, it tried to initialize the phone with some extended roms, a procedure which failed, and I had to soft reset.
After reboot, it seems to work fine.
Is it?
EDIT: Another thing I noticed is that keyboard is in THAI !!! How can I make US the default? Olso, I have Resco keyboard GR edition. Will this work with WM6?

Is this G3 only, or both?
I'm asking, because in PDAviet's temp file there are two different rom updaters, but in the file linked above there is only one.

i don't know mate.i believe you can use pdaviet's temp instead of aku2.2 nvid...
Another thing I noticed, is that it looses pairing with my bt handsfree...
I am making the pairing, and works fine. However, when at night I am shutting off my hf in order to save battery, the next morning the pairing is gone.
Any solution to this?

Choice of ROM
Hello guys, tanks for a so nice job !
I would like to have more information about the choice of ROM.
I don't want any special feature, just the row wm6.
no programs added, no tweaky today, no bugs, no battery problem, etc etc
which one would fit that the best ?
thanks
Thnx for this man, much appreciated!

iv bricket my device cingular 8525

hello every1, i am not very much into winmobile, i am symbian freak for a very long time.
in symbian there is no possibility to flash bricket device at home, ant that is spwcialy what i like at winmobile
i have htc cingular 8525 and it was running wm5.
rgbw string:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HREM100
SPL-2.10.Olipro
and iv tryed to upgrade it to wm6. it stoped on 11% at image writing on ROM, and give me error 262. i remove battery, wait, plug back.... and it started to write again. and stoped on 11% again.
so iv changed pc(go to my friend), and same thing again.
iv even changed cable(from nokia 6120c hehehehe) nothing works
my ROM is deleted and i only have RGBW screen(bootloader)
is there any possibility to boot my device? form mmc???? anything? i am runing activesync 4.5.0
iv readed a lot of tuts, but ne1 helped me.
i hope that someone solved this problem.
thanx in advance

It sounds like your radio has been stuffed... This is BAD...
First, try to flash a stock carrier rom(preferably your original carrier rom) and see if it goes past the 10-15% mark. If not you can try to flash a Radio only rom.
The best way, since it reset into bootloader anyway & (good onya) you have Hard SPL installed, is to use the sd card method.
1. Format sd card fat32.
2. Copy the .nbh file of the os/radio rom you want load Hermes onto sd card and rename to "Hermimg.nbh".
3. Put sd card in Hermes and reset. Follow prompts...
Make sure you have a charged battery as it is pretty battery draining (especially multiple flashes).
If you can't get the radio rom on, you can AT LEAST install a new OS only rom. It will be a good PDA BUT won't work as a phone anymore...
Good Luck...
thank you for reply.
my device do not reboot in bootloader. it stays there. only that RGBW screen for ever.
i was testing it wht plug-unplug usb, and it allways show me if it is serial or usb.... that means that system is functioning.
i try to bootup wht mmc fat, and it didnt work
tell me what files do i need to transfer to mmc? do i need to change name of RUU.....exe to stg else or just nbh thing?
and in what location on mmc should i save it? or just in mmc:\ (root)
and can i hack my radiorom after i setup system? or i need to do that before?
thanx again
btw i am poweruser of symbian, and i am proud owner of smallest s60v3 device (6120).
i found on it samsungs processor.... and i belive that it is similar as windows mobile. and we have a lot of troubles wht rom upgrading... is there any possibility to include you guys in symbian ROM moding? it would be gr8 bcs i didnt cee much skilled developers for windows XP in symbian freak community
btw some guy just told me that he has some java application which enabling write on ROM and if he say truth he will share it wht me.
he is pc/phone servicer, and he is really good as far as i know.
if this thing exists, is there any possibility to extract RUU from exe to pc and i would copy/paste every single file(wht some changes) as i want to do to my nokia hehehehehehehe
wook
"my device do not reboot in bootloader. it stays there. only that RGBW screen for ever." - THIS IS BOOTLOADER...
On the screen it should say what IPL and SPL you have, What are they?
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh file of the os/radio rom you want load Hermes onto sd card and rename to "Hermimg.nbh". You can use a radio only rom or a stock carrier rom - after flashing carrier rom and if the radio rom is restored then flash radio of your choice.
As for running windows on a symbian phone, I don't really know but I'd think that it wouldn't work as the symbian os may have hard wired drivers in the device. You'd have to ask some-one else in the know....
Cheers....
ultramag, iv posted spl and ipl version in 1st post
btw i didnt think abt runing winmob on symbian device, i was thinking of making RUU for symbian.
while RUU is rar file, we could make one for symbian, and bricket phones wouldnt be needed to send to service. btw we could then deit rom and remove platsecurity and make symbiansigned useless. then wount be any need for ROMpatching...(it pach ram actualy) all we need is drivers for symbian device and that we dont have
bt smthing will come i am working on clocking my 6120c and so far no sucess
btw, thank you for help, i am going to load mmc tonight (16:42 here)
ultramag69 thank you my friend for suport. iv successifuly get up my system
heheheehehehehe
btw i dont have imei info and Radio Rom version
i think that i should use CID and SIM unlocker?
As I said on the 2nd post, Your radio rom may be stuffed. This could mean its an unfixable brick. You can use the PDA functions BUT you may not be able to restore the Phone functions.
Using the sd card method though, you can try to install a radio only rom (this only tries to install the radio, the OS you have on there will remain the same so even if the radio rom install is unsuccessful you can still use the PDA functions).
You should also try to install a carrier stock rom (rom supplied by your original carrier) as this , on rare occasions, has restored the radio rom.
Good luck in your Endeavour..
Cheers...
i will try to run radioROM.cab from mmc. seems like stg is wron wht my usb cable. it cant get synced wht pc....?
i will veawe its hardware and check "all" tngs from usb to rom and to flash, at least till crystalls
btw this platiform is awsome
wht resco i can edit rom files??? whd i am amased
i just need paint and hex editor
and ill make anything
btw is there any dll exe... decompilers??? and i need to check is there python for wm6
and then ill be able to write my own programs
thanx bro again
You have bricked hardware radio - flashing radio rom wouldn't work. Send it to good service and probably they will repair it.
hmmm, i would sen it right now, but there is no service around...., and i am better in hardware and software more than 75% local servicists....ill gess tht ill figure stg
ppl, i am wondering:
why memory card is displayed in "device:\" as folder? as far as i know it is a disk(fat32) and why i have extended_ROM and option to remove it?
why i cand access to orginal ROM drive? and why winm0b is playing wht virtual drives?
offtopic:
does any1 has experience wht pythonCE? and if there is ziped command samples for pythons compiled library? i would like to get it
Thank you
wook
It is not clear if you fixed your phone.
It does not sound like you have followed ultramag69 instructions very well. Probably because Englsih is not your first tongue and you have little knowledge of PPC.
You need to download a Radio ROM here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
Then follow the instructions here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_SDCardFlashing
A few points that you need to understand. Resco can not edit ROM files. Your Hermes does not use a MMC card it uses MicroSD. If you are connected to ActiveSync then your Storage Card shows up as a folder; that's just the way it is! Pretty much all your other questions are answered in the WIKI here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes

I think i bricked my Prophet

I have an Imate jamin.. and i installed wm6.1.. everything was goin good..but lately i installed and other rom on it and now it doesnt go forward... it is stuck on the start screen... i need help!!!
Hey,
First try an hard reset, this can be done with pushing the _commmenager-button+Camera-button+stylus-reset(on bottom of ur device)_ at the same time, just release the stylus-reset some earlyer then the other 2 buttons.
if thats not working:
Try to charge your mobile with your original charger,
Then go to your bootloader, put in the USB Cable.
goto the site of your brand of phone... imate / qtek or whatelse...
download official WM5 ROM.
try to flash it again.
Also flash your radio rom to 02.19.21
I like 02.19.21, i think its the best radio-rom for prophet i ever used.
but that can be because i have Vodafone, dont know if its also the same with your provider...
but i should say, give it an try!
here you can download all Radio-Roms.
First of all, when u start flashing again to WM5/6 (doesn't matter what rom) always use HARD-SPL!
And i can advice you an good rom(although for me in case)
The rom made by VaranusVincent
ROM Prophet Blue Manilla 2d
Have fun!!
whoops doublepost...
