HTC Says It will not distribute RUU upgrades except through Distributors! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

I wrote to HTC asking when and where They would be distributing RUU upgrades for the HTC branded TyTNs. They replied with the following:
"Thank you for contacting HTC Europe support, Regarding your query, the official ROM update can be downloaded only from the distributor website, and the last version can be seen from their web page.
From you IMEI we can tell you which is the distributor webpage you will need to look at. Dangaard is the distributor of your phone so please look at http://www.windowsmobile.dangaard.com/start.aspx
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/cs_by_phone.html

I did not purchase from Dangaard. i purchased from someone on the web who may have purchased from them. Nonetheless, i checked their site and they don't even show that they sell this branded version fo the TyTN. They sell the QTEK branded version.
I have written back to them to ask what now since i purchased an HTC branded product because i wanted HTC direct support, not Cingular support. They are a major pain when it comes to support.
Is this possible? Has anyone else heard anything more reliable that suggest that they intend to provide updates directly? The Dangaard site doesn't show any support options of any kind as far as I can see.

the support is left to the company who oem the device

HTC TyTN(1) with the RC E100

Last week i bought this headset, but as most of you probably know the headset isn't recognized. But i was wondering if anybody knows a way to fix this. The problem can't be anymore than a software problem because theirs one driver that lets you get sound through the headphones and the mic to work but none of the buttons work.
Here is a mail from HTC to further prove that its probably a software problem:
Dear sir,
Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
Regarding your query, if you check th HTC shop you will notice that the W100 remote is not listed under the accessories for the HTC TyTN. However, if you update the ROM on your device from WM5 to WM6 you should be able to use this device with the TyTN.
Unfortunately, we are not able to supply you with this update as your device is not an HTC TyTN but the T-Mobile variant of the device, the MDA Vario II. As such you would need to get in touch with T-Mobile in regards to getting a ROM update to WM6. This is naturally dependant on wether T-Mobile offer this update.
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

I was not the one who emailed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309693&highlight=w100) and i don't own a T-Mobile so the last part doesn't concern me, but it still shows that it should work in theory, with the right drivers.

Where do RUUs come from?

I'm trying to figure out how to get ahold of an RUU for the Cellular South build of the Hero. Where do those come from? Are they officially available or does someone have to dig them up from somewhere?
They are official releases from manufacturer. Some are in the Sticky.
Having said that some are also tailored for carrier specific ie Orange,Vodafone, Vindaloo and TomDickAndAli.
Thanks. I e-mailed HTC customer support. I suppose I should try Cellular South support also, but I'm not betting on getting much out of them.
Does anyone have any better tips on getting these?
HTC just replied with a generic "how to reset your phone" e-mail.
if you are looking for a provider specific build you should ask the provider (as in look on his webpage).

Vodafone Rom upgrade.

Does anyone know if they're going to release an official Vodafone ROM upgrade? I've contacted Vodafone and they sent me a text with a link for the orange ROM upgrade??? I was also told around mid-October that it would be released in a week??
are you sure they didnt send you to THIS page for all downloads, , , on which currently the top entry is the orange 3.14 rom? (and is also the page that any carrier 3.14 roms will appear)

Yes samsamuel, it was. I would have preferred it if they'd just said keep and eye on the hTc website, as that's what I've been doing for about 2 months anywez! Thanks for the reply m8. They sent me the following email:
Hello Paul,
Just to let you know that prior to releasing or approving any software update for our Vodafone customers who have bought a handset through Vodafone, we test it thoroughly to ensure it provides customers the best possible experience on our network.
Our testing process begins as soon as we receive the software, which often happens once the manufacturer has already released the open market version of the software.
During the review process, we report any issues with the software back to the manufacturer for them to address. Once the firmware is approved by Vodafone, we return it to the manufacturer and they will then distribute the software to customers through the appropriate channels.
We undertake this process with every device that we sell to customers, regardless of whether or not the handset contains Vodafone branded software.
If you have purchased the device from another company (Phones 4U, Carphone Warehouse etc) it is possible that the device may not be on the Vodafone version of software. In this case the manufacturer would be in control of releasing any future updates.
I trust the above information helps.
Kind regards,

Vodafone is so bloody annoying. I remeber it was released first on vodafone rather than orange, so how come orange got update before them. They had released ROM for HD mini, HD2 might be on the way....... no good vodafone !

I agree. I can't understand how orange got their update out before voda? Not only that, they then go and release a ROM upgrade for the hd mini? I just hope it comes out before year end?

[Q] O2 3.14 ROM - where is it?

Does anyone have any idea when the official 3.14 O2 ROM is being released? I contacted O2 UK yesterday, the customer services rep. told me that it was HTCs fault for not releasing the ROM, and that I should contact HTC to find out where it is. However, I suspect that when I do, they are going to blame O2 and get me to contact them! Oh don't you love the blame game........
Hallo!
I contacted support from O2 Germany about a week after HTC released the new ROM.They told me that they haven't any information wether it will be released or not.I looked at the download-site every day since that day but nothing happend.O2 is quite slow I think. They should bring out the new one.
Kind regards and a happy chistmas to all in this forum.
