Widdcom vs AKU3.x - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

ok guy so since the new ROM is out I just have to ask...... is the Widdcom stack better than the MS in terms of A2DP sound quality.
Personally i am not happy with the sound quality of the MS stack but then I have never used the Widdcom one.
let us know some pros and cons if u have used both.

Tried both
The AKU 3.3 stack is better than the AKU 2.3 stack.
But the Widdcomm stack sounds still mutch better then the one from AKU 3.3
Only thing is, when my phone is one for a few hours, I have to softreset first before it want to connect to my headset.

Ive read the widdcom thread but could not find how to install it. nor did i see the file. im thinking its buried in there. can u gimme a link or instructions on how to get it on my phone.
thanks

I found it no better but this is a test version of the AKU 3.3. Some features of the AKU seem not to be implemented in the test version. I emailed HTC with regards to poor sound quality with the iTech R35 (re-branded as the HTC S100) and they said they hope to resolve the bad sound quality with the official release. Not too keen on that word hope.
If you have a headset that accepts MP3 streams like the iTechs's or MSI's have a look at the following, best sound quality I have found yet.

rumy; all the instructions and the download are in the thread, take some time to read through it. There is a cab file which you copy to your phone and run from there.

er...................
poor sound quality with the iTech R35 test the AKU 3.3.

It is real. So,HOW to slove it??????

thanks daedalia. Ill check it out in a bit....

ROMs from Atom/hp6828 not hackable enough?

Hi fellas.
I'm no expert.. but I did realised that the Universal had updates on AKU3.2, and also the Phrophet. Also heard that some Dell PDAs has the Widcomm BT stack co-existing with WM5.
So I'm wondering.. why isn't the Atom/hp6828 ROM that hackable? I know alot of users are complaining about the lousy MS BT stack, that causes lotsa problems with the A2DP profile, etc. Only if someone can get AKU3.2 for these devices.. or perhaps the Widcomm stack..
Any leads to that?
hacking is bad...
what we do here is improvise and customizing our system to suit our needs mostly...
non..

It seems that HP has done something to its devices so that you are FORCED to use only their HP branded accessories.
Im using all HP iPAQ accessories and its working flawlessly (BT ST Headphones, BT Headset, BT Foldable Keyboard)

Jabra BT320s or similar

Just to resurrect this thread from back in the day, has anyone seen THIS??
Im wanting a wireless bluetooth A2DSP thing with the AVRCP buttons on it. Also I want to be able to use my own earphones and this looks the ticket!
Has anyone used this or something similar on the Hermes yet?? And if so does the A2DP fix work?!?!
I've tried a number of headsets on the Hermes, including the 320s.
In terms of connection and stability the HTC is by a far distance the most stable. The 320s did not have a good connection when I tried it.
Unfortunatly all headsets had lots of hissing when used with WM6. I did not try all of them with WM5, but the results seems to be much better.
Some people have good results using reg. hacks or the Widcomm stack. For me that doesn't work.
The AVRCP buttons worked fine on all headsets I've tried (with the media player. Not all players support AVRCP).
All in all the quality of all headsets is much worse than the supplied wired headset. Still the headset makes sense to me, but not for high quality listening.

Gutted!!
Im thinking is there a way i can test A2DP using my PC as the headset?! Il get back to you if i find a solution.
mrvanx: I am currently using my Jabra BT620s (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/9783.htm) with all AVRCP functions working properly on my Orange SPV M3100 loaded with Black's latest WM6 ROM.
Jabra BT8010 has a great sound and is very flexible...
I would recommend it
BT 320 has software upgrade from Jabra website. Also, it has a very good function - to collect other music player using a wire at the same time collect to your phone using BT. This can perfect solve the music sound quality problem about your PDA.

You mean the BT230 can be connected to a different MP3 player using a cable too? (rather than Bluetooth)
Yes, the model number is BT 325s, check this out. But I cannot find any in HK
Mrvanx
I got a BT320s for my super.fi 5 Pro. The sound is excellent.
Volume adjustment is good
I got the latest FW from the Jabra Singapore site (no way to know what version is on the device and what version is on the upgrade)...
The US site shows it as coming soon???
When getting a call while listening thru A2DP you can take the call but then the phone hangs and need to be reset.
The BT8010 works better from this stand point (not much but at least no need to reset the XDA)
One of the main issue with BT320s is that it switch on by itself easily through a slight push on the central button... and the call management...
This may be due to my WM6 ROM (4/23 from LVSW)...

[Q] Is it possible to use a diff BT-stack (MS in stead of Widcomm)?

I know very little of BlueTooth, so this may be a very silly question, but I was wondering. I have some problems with the A2DP connection, it skips and pauzes, a problem I didn't have with my Touch HD. So I was wondering:
Is it possible to cook a custom rom which uses the MS BT-stack rather thant he Widcomm one?
I would like to know this as well.
Been looking around @ the Touch Pro2 forums (that uses the widcomm / broadcom stack too) and I think the answer's no... it's well known that the widcomm stack is ****e and doesn't implement all the stuff that the MS one has, hence the BT probs ppl have.
Although this topic belings elsewhere I really hope driver updates help fix the horrible A2DP quality, not great in HD2 even tweaked out the max.

actually it's the other way round (although I'm not sure about the current version of widcomm in HD2), I've had windows mobile phones for the last 4-5 years, and MS BT stacks has always been inferior compared to Widcomm.

well, it's inferior for me because I can't use BlueInput with the widcomm stack
A quick search for the term "touch pro2 bluetooth stack" also brings up a bunch of links of people having issues with the widcomm stack (like this for example: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=10696).
I'm sure they've probably improved the stack since then, but seeing as some people still have problems I'd rather have the standard MS stack where possible instead.
It should be possible on custom ROMs, but as far as I know it's not possible to change the stock BT stack on HTC official ROMs.
I also know bluetooth very little, what makes BT stack differently, hardware or software??
I remember back in 2004, we all were dying to replace the Microsoft BT stack with Widcomm one
Well to keep it simple, the bluetooth stack can be considered a mix between the drivers required for bluetooth to work and a series of apps/services which allow the device to use and work with different BT profiles (like device discovery, bluetooth serial port, A2DP, etc)...
Sounds like drivers to me. I know that on my PC, if I use a bluetooth device I can use the manufacturers drivers/tools or I can just use the default M$ ones. I wonder if it can happen then when custom roms become available?
Please please please put the MS stack back in chefs! The rubbish Widcomm one won't play nice with a lot of devices and apps (like MSVC)
HTC HD2 bluetooth stack & BMW ULF
There is a worldwide demand for the HD2 to work with the later ULF's for BMW built in car kits. If a ROM can be cooked to replace the Widcomm with the MS Stack I am sure there will be many downloads and donations from gratefull end users. Jetware would probably then work allowing tweaking between car and phone.

Nokia BH-215 bluetooth headset: Incompatible

Hi there,
I recently bought the TD2 and hoped to be able to use my beloved Nokia BH-215 bluetooth headset with it. However, the sound quality is poor and it keeps getting disconnected. HTC informed me that it is incompatible with my phone.
Is there any way I can make it work with my TD2? Could a cooked ROM help? (I'm still using the stock ROM). Or can anyone recommend another compatible "clip"-type headset that works?
Many thanks!
Nat
my gf uses the nokia bh-214. the quality seems great and all and although she uses it on her old fashioned nokia, i have paired it with my HTC (using dutty's newer ROMs) and it worked fine (volume controls were laggy, but that's about it)
i personally use the SE HBH-DS980. see this post for my review: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629787
i think 3rd or 4th post.

Thank you, Drag-On. I will check it out.

Qtek 9090 working alternative headset

Hi2All!
As subject says,is there (on the market)any solution for Qtek 9090 alternative wired headset,(coz original died)..or stereo bluetooth headset, but in both cases,(beside mp3 listening),microphone must B working..with all call/reply functions..
Cheers!
btw,yes..I do a search, but there is a lot of stuff from few years ago..
hi and welcome to the forum.
in fact, we had a headset and storage card discussion yesterday.
afaik there is no fully working alternative wired handsfree. some nokia headsets also have 2.5mm plugs, but with another connector layout (that's what's to be found in the older threads).
if you don't find a replacement original handsfree you can also use stereo bluetooth handsfrees over the a2dp standard. for that, your rom must support a2dp of course. i use a callstel bh19, which is great. it looks like a normal mono headset (candybar layout, no stupid receivers flapping around or hanging around the neck) and you can plug in a 2nd earphone, which comes with it and provides full bluetooth 2.0 a2dp with edr (much more, than the blueangel is capable of unfortunately). sorry, i can only provide a german link:
http://www.pearl.de/a-HPM3478-8909.shtml
and yes, it actually cost 3.90eur once, but now it's back to 30.
alternatively, i hear good things about jabra handsfrees in a certain price range >70eur are really good.

That'll B a high point,for travelers like me.BT headset are like a charm..I like it.Therefore,I must find appropriate cooked(or baked) WM with integrated a2dp support.I hope,thing will work.
