But i dont like the way it uses live.com for its search.
So you can make a quick regedit and now it uses google.

I tried that but for some reason it too me to google but didnt preform the search..

This is the problem with the latest LVSW
after applying the google hack, it seems there's a problem with more than one word searching! has anyone else experience this??
From the PIE home page multiple word searchs work fine but from WML they dont, it seems WML passes the info with html tags such as %20 for spaces. Not sure how to get around that besides not using WML

how to change back to the original settings for WML?
I dont seem to have a copy of the original settings.
If someone can go into their phones registry and tell me what the value of
HKLM/Services/Windows Live/HSAppPlugins/SearchURL
Then i will make cab to restore the settings.

I have 2 questions about my Mogul.
1- Is it possiable to change the default web browser to something other then PIE? for instance if i click on a link in my email i would like it to open in Opera Mini-Java, can taht be done? Or at least done in some other browser?
2 - Can i get Sprint TV on my phone yet? I know it was out there for a while as i had it, then it was deactivated. It is part of my plan and i would like to use it if i can. But i'm using DCD's latest ROM which doesn't have it, if it is possiable can someone package (or point me to) an installer?
And a shout out to all of you guys who do this stuff for beer and such these mod's are so amazing!

I don't know if this file will help or not.
If you upgrade to the latest official Sprint ROM, you will get SprintTV included/installed along with it.
You can find the latest official ROM here:

As far as using another browser as your default, I'm afraid I just put up with PIE and have never looked at switching. I presume it is a registry setting.
Try looking at:

And that's how I got the cab. After installing the rom... clicking on Sprint TV... brought the dialog for the CAB file. LOL
there's a thread on the development and hacking page called jzsmartmort. it'll allow you to change your default browser to whatever you want (opera mini, skyfire etc). its worked for me, and pretty simple to do. install a cab and click the option you like within the jzsmartmort prog.

It looks like there are a huge number of "mime" types in the HKCR branch like \HKCR\http\Shell\Open\Command that points to IE. So you would have to change all these to point to Opera and cross your fingers it works.

Or you could just use my Opera Mini or Java Pack located in my signature.

I believe it is the right key. My pda opens up in opera mobile 8.65 when I follow email links. I didn't know how it knew to do that. Checking this key shows that it is set to
"\Program Files\Opera\OperaLaunch.exe" %1

GC's installer worked perfect as well as the installer for the Sprint TV, infact i'm watching it now, now if i could just get the audio from Sprint TV to go through my Bluetooth headset i'd be set!

You might try BTaudio. I have used it to send audio from wm player to my headset. I don't know why it wouldn't work for TV as well.

The quality of sound is horrible but it will work for TV also....
If i can get a full reg dump. only the reg from HKLM..
there are missing entries in the rom I have and it will be easier for me to go though a full .reg dump then all of the rgus in a rom dump.

i have a different device. so the rom was ported before the rose was even released.
so a hard reset will only install the reg with missing entries. if i get a .reg dump of hklm i can find my missing reg entries and get all of the 740 functions on my juno

Basicly all you need is a reg editor for windows mobile, which can be found here http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ if you don't already have one.
connect your phone to your computer using active sync.
open ce reg editor and connect to your phone.
the reg keys will be displayed in the left pane.
click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then EDIT > EXPORT, save the file
then zip the file and upload here thankyou for your help.

No not at all. I should have made my comment earlier more clear.
I want to get the OS functions on my phone. As the rom ported has alot of stuff removed. Like audiomanager homescreen plugin, htc email homescreen plugin, etc, etc. but we do have everything else from your phone on ours. like phonecanvas 2g.. thankyou
but obviously features like GPS and other hardware features that arnt on the OMAP850 will not work. But like i said, we have your rom on our device so put yours and mine next to eachother your just going to see a diffrent case

As far as I'm concerned the HTC Favorites plugin is a live display of the IE favorites. But I am not entirely certain about that since I don't have a S740.

I don't use it and have it disabled on my (altered) sliding panels home screen, but I have just tried it and it seems to update automatically.
It has a bug, however. When I bookmarked new site, it was added to the panel, but panel page with that site lacked headline "Internet explorer", IE icon and right soft key functionality.

hmm thnks for the info. ill have to look into the reg alittle mor closely and see how it has everything updated automaticly.
If you do not mind testing/flashing and would like to try this ROM please do so.
Build 20771, TP2 TF3D and some other Rhodium apps. Can you please test Data, activesync, bluetooth, GPS and other basic functions. Please report back even if nothing is found.

A newer build...just want to make sure it is ready for general relase.
Installed, so far data and activesync look the goods. Ill test GPS etc over my lunch break.
Some different program icons...what do you think?
Same for me... Data, activesync, and basic functionality looking good so far. A couple of big pluses for me - memory use is only about 33%. It was above 50% on NRG's rom with TF3D 2 (that's not meant as any kind of negative towards NRG, I love his newest rom too, just a comment). And Weather Watcher works correctly. On all other cooked roms I've tried Weather Watcher appears "zoomed out".

Do you have new taskbar icons too? (hopefully I'm not being too greedy here).
I just flashed with this rom and checked the date. It said rom date is 03/14/09 was wondering maybe you just forgot to change the date?

A small problem (with a solution). You can't add file explorer as a favorite anywhere in the first two rows of favorites. Or more acurately, you can add it, but it won't launch. The solution is explained in post #500 here:

Try my icon pack I posted a few rows up and it should work without the fix.

Go to tools...and in there is a nifty little app to change it.
Not sure what you mean how it works. I believe it is there for apps that use so they can auto rotate.

Regarding the GSensor thing, I was expecting "it is there for apps that use so they can auto rotate" but it is not working for all of the apps. it works for the calculator program but so far calculator is the only program that rotates as it should. I wish my Garmin XT would rotate .. is there any whitelist thing where I need to enter the information of Garmin XT ?
I will keep on testing this ROM and update.

You can use the G-Config program to add programs to the whitelist, available here. Makes adding applications a breeze, hit add new app, open the app and put the stylus in and reset. Works real nice with tf3d too

Was hoping to see the new start menu (the unpopular one, is seems, but the new one) and it wasn't there...is there a fix or cab to have that?

Hey guys, did a quick Google search on this and didnt see any answers to this bizarre quirk.
I am on non-rooted ICS (stock) - no comments from the peanut gallery about this. Once CM is stable enough that I feel I can use it, Ill switch.
Now, on to the problem.
I installed Chrome and set it to the default browser (but Ill probably change it considering what Im about to post) and set the home page to google.
I begin typing a search query, for example, 'Samsung AT&T No' and Google presents some suggestions of what it thinks Im going to actually search for. Tapping ANY of these suggestions hides the suggestion list and does NOT fill in my query with the suggestion I tapped. In addition, the keyboard is also hidden until I tap in the query edit field again.
In addition, Id like to just state for the record, xda is TERRIBLE on mobile (the website). I dont know what this new 'theme' is but it is barely functional on mobile, on the desktop, the website is completely broken in Firefox (14.0.1 w/ No Script and Tree Style Tabs plugins installed - and yes, I am enabling scripting for XDA).
So, I have reverted to the old xda theme until this is fixed.
BUT, does anyone know what is wrong with Chrome?

Yeah I was having this same issue. I am rooted and using the stock browser, same goes for the google search widget. But the answer above solves the problem.

I recently installed JellyBam into my i9100. I have the standard Trebuchet installed with the Google Search bar widget.
When I type in Amsterdam weather, the weather is nicely displayed but the values are in Imperial.
How does one change it into Metric?
( It would be interesting to query the value of product.locale.region, but I don't know how)
( Please note I do not wish to install a new app for this. I simply want to know how to change the existing Google Search app. There are no options in the Settings menu).

There is a small "C" next to the temp displayed in Fahrenheit. Tap that, and it will change to Celsius. All future results will then be in metric.

Do the search at www.google.com via the browser, then try doing what I said. Then repeat your search using the search widget. The preference should carry over.

Nope. A search on Google.com gives it in Metric. The change is not carried through. It is specific to Google Search widget/app in Android.

That's totally weird. My results always get displayed in a browser window. Your results appear to be something else.
Check in the ROM thread?
EDIT to add: it's probably different for me since I'm on stock ICS, and you're running the JellyBam custom ROM, so this is about as far as I can go trying to help you, I think. Sorry.

Btw. which Jellybam Version are you using? The one based on 4.1.2 or the one based on 4.2.1?

Thee is no Google Now settings section .
Enter your search term; once the result is shown hit the left touch key and there should be a settings entry (at least it's like that in the 4.1.2 version).
Yes there is a settings entry, but nothing there adresses measurments.

No. Can you offer proof that a Google Account is required?
If no Google account was configured then one would think it would base results on GeoIP or the handset locale, which is the Netherlands and UK English, which would always prefer Metric.
My wife's i9100 does not have a Google Account, and it gives the results in Metric. However she has stock Samsung/ADW.
Actually no, I don't have proof. It was just a guess.
Maybe it's a bug in the 4.2.1 Jellybam (or CM) version.

You have to activate Google Now to be able to change these settings. But I guess you can't activate Google Now without a Google-Account (still guessing, sorry).
