t-mobile ameo from germany - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo Upgrading

hello again
can u confirm to me if i have a tmobile ameo from germany will i be able to see english languge on the menu ?
if not can i take the tmobile uk rom of the ameo and just replace it or it will not work ?
thanks

I can just answer your first question: No, only German language on a German Ameo.
As for using different ROMs, no idea.

thanks but any one can answer about the rom ?
please ?

At the moment you shouldn't be able to swap ROMs without changing the CID which AFAIK isn't currently possible. The issue is that these ROMs should have different country codes and without unlocking the CID of your phone you can't upgrade with some other vendor's ROM. Please correct me if I am wrong!

t-mobile ameo
thanks for now i hold my things

I'm not shure but try this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302039

O2 Trion and T-Mobile Vario II ->ROM upgrade to HTC TyTn

Hi all,
I'm quite new at ROM upgrading, so I apologize if any of my questions will be annoying to anyone.
I am about to buy O2 XDA Trion or T-Mobile MDA Vario II in Germany, and I plan to flash English ROM on it.
So here are the questions:
1. Will any type of ROM work on this brands of device ?
(Can I flash HTC TyTn English ROM on them. If not which ROM's can I use? Which one do you recommend?)
2. Will flashing new ROM unlock SIM ?
(If not, can you recommend me some good tool or method)
3. After upgrade to English ROM, will everything be in English ?
(Including all OS+Office apps. and keyboard layout, or do I have to set registry keys manually after?)
4. Which is the last known stable English HTC TyTn ROM (or O2 English) ?
(that it's enabling HSDPA also)
5. How to extract original ROM from device ?
(itsutils tool, or is there some better solution ?)
6. What is the benefit of Extended ROM ?
(does it exist Extended HTC TyTn ROM ?)
Already searched on forum, but still couldn't find answers to some of my questions. Anyway, I want to be sure before I do it.
I would appreciate any answers and/or advice.
Thank you all in advance.

Any of the ROMs listed here will be fine:

No, it will not, but most probably your device will be Sim Unlocked.
If it is not, there is no free way of unlocking it *yet*, you can SIM Unlock it using imei-check service for 20pounds. See more info here:

Everything will be in english, but in German O2 trion you have an AZERTY keyboard (mapped to QWERTY after upgrade). If you want it to be AZERTY again you can change the layout using the keyboard registry hack found here:

Again, see this page for the latest roms:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
Most of the roms come with HSDPA enabled, and if it is not, you can enable it using SetHSDPA /enable or fit4cat hermes tweaker, see more info here:

Info is here:

You can dump the original rom, but you cannot flash it back... most probably this will be quite unuseful for you.

Re: O2 Trion and T-Mobile Vario II ->ROM upgrade to HTC T
Thanks Pof for quick answers !
Correct me if I understood it wrong, any ROM (HTC, O2 English, I-mate etc.) should work with both brands (O2, T-Mobile) ?
How can I then fall back to original ROM (if I would need it for warranty reasons) ?
Is the Extended ROM must, or can I live without it also ?

That's right, you will get a Vendor ID when upgrading, you just need to run the upgrade utility twice without disconnecting your device. This is explained in the wiki too.

As O2 or T-Mobile has not released any rom upgrade yet, you cannot fall back to original rom. There is no known way of doing it because the typical commands to backup/restore to SD card have been removed in the Hermes bootloader. So upgrade at your own risk or don't upgrade if you pretend to return the unit

You can live without it, but generally it fixes some things (you'll not be able to do video calls without it for example). All the cabs are not needed and there are some customizations, skins, etc which are really annoying for me. What I generally do is "reset" before the ExtROM installs on first boot after hard-reset, and then manually install the cabs I want: some taken from TyTN rom, some others taken from i-mate rom and some others taken from Dopod rom.
Hope that helps!
Upgrading at your own risk ... that may be risky ... LOL
But i did it and its worth,...... still waiting for the new O2 ROM ...
I've written a wiki page with all this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeFAQ
Can I flash HTC ROM and then add O2 Extended ROM ?
Will I then have all O2 specific stuff, and O2 skins?
Did anybody already tried this combination ?
Thanks in advance...

Now O2 has released a new Rom, so if I change to i-Mate I can always change to O2-Rom
Is That correct?

The O2 released ROM is in german, if the original language of your O2 branded Hermes was german, then the above statement is correct and you can flash any rom without worries as you can always revert back to o2 in case you have to return your unit
Thank you
I have bought my Trion yesterday but it's in german, and I want in english so I found this forum which is great.
Thank you gays for the good work.
Can you provide some other forums or sites with information about Software for PDA and other stuff.
I will spend the entire week reading the forum.

to backup the existing ROM on your Hermes is not possible. The only solution for that is if your provider has made the original ROM accessible (please check the board for available ROMs)
In most cases - my best guess - you willl void the warrenty by re-flashing it, but the terms here may be different depending on your provider

French Orange SPV M3100 to be upgraded to English

I'm currently using a french(Switzerland) orange 3100. If i install this english rom will my OS change to english. Would there be any special settings required to work with my CP?
Based on information here; I suppose, I should use cooked ROM by mousey_ and using Force SSPL option rather than ROM from orange, uk. Is that correct?
The cooked ROM has quite old radio (Radio: 1.34.00.10). Does it really matters a lot? If yes, is it possible to have with latest one?
Thanks in adance for valuable feedback/help.
If you load the official English update ROM - your M3100 will become English - with English network settings etc etc
thanks mate.
I have seen that release from Orange, u.k. Wouldn't it make problem with CID etc?
As per my understanding, the cooked ROM is using the same NBH file as that used in orange release plus using SSPL etc. to avoid such checks..
Please advice.
SuperCID should prevent any CID problems. Not done it myself so you'll need to check for yourself how it needs to be done.
I loaded the official update on my M3100 but as I had bought from Orange UK on the first place CID was not an issue.

Need a A1 / Vodafone ROM for Ameo - in german

hi @all,
can someone help me with my problem, have a T-Mobile(Austria) Ameo and have tested some of the ROM from here.
Black Projekt Rom: perfekt work and veryvery nice but its in english and the videocall doesn´t work
Original HTC x7500 ROM: works perfekt - i have tested the german and the english version - but no videocall
T-Mobile German ROM - Works perfekt but i have Vodafone A1 and the 128/96 dpi mode dont work
The reason why i need an German Vodafone(in Austria its calles A1) ROM is, that my Sim card is from A1 and this Rom would have all the settings and also Videocall.
Have anyone an ideo where i could get this ROM?
thx
mat
Hi there,....
question:
Why is video call not available ? Do you have the button but it doesnt work
or is just the buttom not available...
Anyway,.. if it just the "Video Call" button that did not appear then
look for the RealVGA settings and play with the "disable phone skin".
Uncheck this and let the device reboot...
With my german ROM RealVGA replaces the "Phone" skin and there is no
video bottun... (nice if you dont what to do videocalls at all)
if you check/uncheck (i dont know anymore exactly) then
the phone uses the original skin and the bottun is back.
So maybe it not the ROM... just a setting.
I am also using HTC ROM with my Ameo so this should also work with yours. Nothing to do with ROM...
Helpful ??? If not come back with "better" explanation of your problem.
No I onyl can assume what your problem is...
Good luck
Hi, i do not own a Ameo, but if i get one (T-Mobile, A1,..) is it then possible to flash X7500 ROMs to Ameo? Is it possible to CID-unlock the Ameo to flash any ROM i like?
Is a T-Mob Ameo restricted to a T-Mob Rom?

Hasn't this been answered in another thread? Why the cross posting?
Hi,
Ameo is an exclusive product for T-Mobile, it's not available from vodafone -> there is no ameo rom for vodafone available.
AFAIK the Ameo itself is locked and not the rom software, so it should (no guarantee) work, if you use the unlocked ameo with a t-mobile rom and a vodafone SIM card.
Regards
Andreas
ameo can be unlocked using the unlocker avialable on here. My ameo is unlocked, and using a vodafone sim perfectly

simlock has nothing to do with the rom
a CID unlock is what you need before flashing your own roms
