9) flash the RUU_Signed.nbh with the Athena updater, you MUST be running Hard-SPL (1.20.Olipro) to flash!
10) Profit. - I mean erm... done.

Good luck in waiting....by the time you get it (which will limit you to only getting HTC ROMs - as you will be CID Stuck to them), we'll be enjoying all sorts of customised stable and fast ROMs from the fastest WM6 ROM available. The reason why we got together to form the Athena Project.
The manufacturers and Service providers already have our money, do you seriously think that they will spend more money on further developing the O/S for us all....for free? When they can take that developmental progress they make and release a newer device with newer features and make millions?
I think not! This forum and in particular the Athena Project is committed to doing just that.....FREE OF CHARGE for the community.

Besides, think I might look into learning about ROM cooking and that 'teaser' name might just become a reality.
Think about it, WM5 network & CID locked Silver Ameo....now debranded & reborn Super CID & Sim Unlocked WM6 Platinum Edition Unleashed.....I think that qualifies it as an enhanced version of the standard X7500, plus it's a different colour...blah blah blah.

Is it possible to run the HTC Home plugin on my new x7501? I had the plugin on my upgraded TYTN, and I love it!

And last, but definitley not least... Is there anyway to get the default fonts to be smaller on my device? I already tried Settings -> Screen -> Text Size and set it to the smallest... but come-on I can still read it from across the room and that is an issue for me with regards to security of my information. Also, it would be nice to see more on the screen in general (icons and such).

It seems impossible for me to find the radio 1.50.
As per the instructions for PK 3.0 it is recommended to flash the 1.50 version.
at present I do have 1.45 .

Hope someone can help.T-Mobile 2.35 ROM is rubbish. I am looking for the HTC7500 upgrade with the functionality of the 7500. I cannot get the unlock to work...from Olipro although it says it is unlocked. When i try to flash with the HTC ROM, i get the message 'incorrect vendor'..maybe i am just to 'new' to this thing of upgrading. I had the Dopod ROM loaded but had to re-install 3 times when i get the incorrect password lockout. HELP SOMEONE PLEASE!!!

Now anybody can call me pedantic,but:
The link to the Athena unlocker above via Megaupload leads to a file that is-after extraction-13.653 KB big.
The link in Olipros 'How to never brick your Ameo..' and Wiki-where i can download directly-lead to a file that is 14.892 KB big.
Both are just called 'AthenaUnlocker.exe'
After lots of reading in the forums,i assume the second/bigger file is the one to go...but i could sleep better if anybody could confirm that...

Just wondering if anyone has made any new custom roms. I have looked so far as I can in the forums and I cant see a cooked rom from the kitchen for the hermes.
Would be nice to see if there is one superb one out there that would replace my rubbish t-mobile one!

Right now everyone is using the 1.35 south africa released HTC rom with the latest imate 1.20 radio.
You first need to SIM/CID unlock your phone with pofs hacked radio rom (which you might need the slightly illegal bootleg bootloader downgrade from any version to 1.04 to accomplish)
then after that you can throw up 1.35 on your device, and use the aforementioned bootloader downgrade util to get down to BL1.04 to put the 1.20 radio rom only upgrade on.
Theres no cooked roms or kitchen ATM because the devices are locked to official roms only. Once someone figures out how to get around that its open season!
Unfortunately, due to encryption of the ROM, there are no custom "cooked" roms as of right now.
I am thinking of buying a Hermes however what is the latest AKU avaliable?

All shipped Hermes bootloaders enforce signature checking on NBH files against an HTC private key, this is what is preventing the development of custom AKU3.x cooked ROMs on Hermes (and all other new HTC devices).
The SPL can be hacked to avoid this, but it will require some months of research... if anyone here has knowledge with disassemblers / debuggers such as IDA Pro or radare, embedded device bootloaders and ARM/Thumb assembly and is willing to help with this, feel free to contact me on this matter and we can work together
I can't give a real estimation of when this will be possible, because it depends on a lot of factors, but I'm sure we'll be able to do it in the future...
Anyway, I see a lot of people willing to have an AKU3.5 on its hermes, but haven't seen anyone willing to cook it himself on this community yet ... so we need people willing to cook Hermes ROMs first, otherwise the effort put in hacking the SPL is not worth it.

The tutorial does not exist because no one has done it yet, so if you investigate how to do it the first, you can do the tutorial.
A good starting point is having experience with ROM cooking on previous HTC devices, I don't want to discourage newbies in that area but it really helps a lot.
For the Hermes one must first learn how to extract ROM parts from NBH file, this is explained here.
Then one needs to be able to modify OS.nb to add/delete files and modules on it, I have no idea on how to do this on hermes "OS.nb" files... on previous devices one could convert NBF to NBA and use mamaich imgfs tools, but I don't know how to convert Hermes OS.nb into NBA to do it.... so this point should be where people willing to cook ROMs should have to start researching.
I myself never cooked a ROM for any previous device, but have used cooked ROMs in my old BlueAngel and Universal, and more-or-less understand how the cooking process works because I've read the relevant threads on this matter here... I am also not going to loose my time cooking ROMs for the Hermes at this point, because I believe it's more important to loose it in research to provide a way to flash this cooked ROMs once they exist, but we'll get things done faster if we work in parallel, that's why I ask the community to start the cooking research now, even we don't have a real solution to flash the cooked ROMs yet.

Once you have the chance to flash unsigned code, you'll need 3 months of research to be able to cook a ROM because nobody has investigated on the OS rom layout of the hermes... you'll only be able to flash your splash screen if you stay there sitting and waiting for someone else to do it, we're a community of developers, and what I am asking is to work in PARALLEL.

OK, let's make it easy: Imagine hacking the SPL to flash unsigned code takes 3 months, and producing a flashable OS.nb with AKU 3.5 takes another 3 months.
"blue pill") 3 months to hack SPL + 3 months to produce cooked OS.nb == 6 Months to have your cooked AKU 3.5 on Hermes.
"red pill") 3 months a group of people researching on method to hack SPL and another group of people investigating how to produce cooked OS.nb == 3 months in total to have your AKU 3.5 on Hermes.

OS.nb can't be converted to a valid imgfs_raw_data.bin using mamaich prepare_imgfs.exe, I still don't know why. Theoretically it should be the same as a decoded nbf (or nba) file, but imgfs tools don't like hermes OS.nb

Weird, I was using HTC 1.35 rom to do the tests, and was unable to get a imgfs_raw_data.bin bigger than 7Mb.
I have just tried with HTC 1.18 rom, and I could dump OS.nb without problems

The way, I've testet the tool is the following:
1.unzip the NBHextract folder to c:
2. put the .NBH you want to extract in that folder.
3. go to the commad-console and switch to folder "NBHextract"
4. type"NBHextract.exe HERMING.nbh -v" now the tool extracts the content.
It's easy .

How-To build an OEM Package:
An OEM Package is just a simple folder containing files and registry settings for the ROM
First of all you'll need a GUID number for your Package.
Go to http://www.famkruithof.net/uuid/uuidgen to get one.
In my case:
283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db
Necessary steps:
Create a new folder:
OEM/[Your package name]/
Create a empty text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db.dsm
(The Kitchen will finish this file for you)
If needed:
Create an UNICODE text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db.rgu
This file could be used to add registry entries to the ROM
First line is:
REGEDIT4
...
and there MUST be a empty line at the end!!
Create an UNICODE text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/initflashfiles.txt
This file could be used to create folders or copy files on the ROM.
Example: Open OEM/OEM_Lang_0409/initflashfiles.dat using a text editor
*Do Not Edit This*
Copy all files you need to OEM/[Your package name]/

I agree that some of the other forums have been overrun with people making their own ROMs and posting them, but it might be a nice idea for there to be one thread where people can share their work with others if they have cooked their own ROM. When I had my Hermes, I liked looking at what other people had done and it gave people a bit more choice. I'm not saying that PK3.0 isn't incredible (it truly is!) but there might be people who would like to try something else and maybe don't trust themselves with the ROM kitchen.

Just sond my hermes, getting an athena soon, and i think its great that here in the athena forum, you have a rula stopping every man and his dog like you said, posting roms. In hermes, everyday, theres some new cook, who just strips down schaps roms, or adds some random program to a rom. There are very few true cooks, and i think you have the right idea here, not letting everyone add their own very indifferent roms to clutter the forum. Maybe it would be an idea to make a thread to either post oem packages, (ive never had much luck making them) or their roms. But i guess then people would discuss each and evey rom in the same thread, and it would be impossible to get the information you need.
Anyways, looking forward to donating to the athena project, and getting ym athena. Is the athena project still going?

I offered this same service for the Kaiser and the Hermes (just now for the Hermes) and a lot of people seemed to like it so i thought i'd bring it here. It'll bring a lot more load on me, but i'm on summer vacation until the 25th and then school starts (will continue to do this even when i have school hopefully).
Most chefs tend to cook what the majority of the people like including myself. When i cooked my first ROM and asked people for feedback/suggestions, i did get a few programs that everybody liked but there were many suggestions of programs that each different user liked. So i could have cooked Livcast in which Joe wanted, but Mary wouldn't use it at all; that kind of thing
I couldn't get anybody to cook what i wanted so i did it myself So i'm opening up this thread for ANYBODY who has a request to cook a ROM which can include ANY program (or rather anything they want). I will cook commercial programs, but will NOT include any license/registration key; that's up to you to get. The format should look something like this:

Games: Thousands of these to
Version: Here you can tell me whether you want a cube version, non-cube version, diamond build, etc.
Other: Whatever else you'd like.

How can i please remove following apps Safely from the OEM and SYS when cooking? as i read there must be a setup file that must be edited and not only deleting them from OEM folder.

- First steps
- Help
- MP3 trimmer
- Streaming media
- Windows Live
- Windows update
- Error report
- User feedback

I couldn't get anybody to cook what i wanted so i did it myself So i'm opening up this thread for ANYBODY who has a request to cook a ROM which can include ANY program (or rather anything they want). I will cook commercial programs, but will NOT include any license/registration key; that's up to you to get. The format should look something like this:
Programs: Thousands of these.
Games: Thousands of these to
Version: Here you can tell me whether you want a cube version, non-cube version, diamond build, etc.
Other: Whatever else you'd like.
Preferred Upload Host: Have problems with RS? No problem, just tell me the site and i'll upload it there. I can also upload to Jannaa's blogspot thanks to her generosity!
You can help aplace4u.biz to stay free.
Chances are that I probably have access to the programs you want, so i'll make them to an OEM if i don't already have them.
I'm on summer vacation so I have quite some time and i'd like to devote it in helping out (not just here but anywhere). If this doesn't go so well, i'll just ask a mod to delete the thread.

Just want to know if the radio can be changed so that Europe and US frequencies are working? Is it hardware or software related? Will donate you some bucks.

Ah, ignore the email i just sent
Radio is a software thing that can be changed. You could use the same radio for two countries, however you have to find the best fit one.
My laptop has been a living nightmare, so yesterday i took it to Best Buy so that they can fix it for me. So as soon as it's back, i'll get going with all of this!! Thanks for the support

Actually, there are two different kitchens for each and i don't want to take a chance at messing up your device because they "look the same." If i have time, i'll go into the Diamond and see its whatabouts and get back to you (when i get my laptop back) Currently, i'm on my bro's computer (vista :\)
I also forgot to mention that l3v5y will also be helping me out in this project! We're going to work together to try and bring you guys the best custom ROMs I'm sure you guys all know him Support l3v5y if you can!!

Anything in the Official (Shipped) ROMs you want removed can be removed, and (virtually) anything you want added can be added.

ROM cooking is not identical, but is similar. I'll go and grab a copy of the latest WWE ROM and try and apply those changes. It'll be an unsigned ROM though.
Alternatively, if you want to cook it yourself, you'll need to delete the OEM packs that have the names corresponding to the app (windows live is a SYS program, as is Windows Update and User Feedback), and look for all the files with names like "config.txt" and delete lines such as "CAB: \Windows\Opera.CAB" as they are cabs for Opera. There is one for manila as well.

First things first, remove the "PACKAGE_DIAMOND_MANILA" OEM pack.
Also remove the 0409 OEM pack (first make sure it contains only

Finally, you have to remove the manila_PT_Reg.cab file, and the line associated with it in a config.txt file.

It'll be in the OEM packs if its there... Do a search for "PT_Manila_REG.cab" to make sure it's there.

Besides the regular cooking it would be nice to see some adjustments on the home screen:
Make the clock, normal small digits so we get room back for other things, like seeing my agenda below it.
Also there is a good working CAB to get the Call history in the icons below so we can get rid of the line with big title under the clock.

when i use an official rom (includes Radio) as a base ROM for cooking, will the radio be automatically included in the cooked ROM or do i have to do that manually during Build OS?

Radio ROMs, Splash screens and other non OS parts are added when you use HTCRT to create the nbh file.

You have different choices as well. You can add anything to the list that is possible for the today screen such as Samsung time, RL Today, etc.

I have added mine since I have the same set from Singtel. However I'm not sure how to find some of the details.

Ive moved the info to the "shipped WM6.1 ROMs" page, no need for a dumped ROMs page aswell since they are all shipped.

I feel like a noob having to ask this, but are there any cooks around here that are using Bepe's Platformrebuilder? I've made several ROMs for my AT&T Fuze using Raphael Kitchen and I have a fair amount of experience cooking for my old ELF. I recently decided to give Platformrebuilder a go, but am having problems.
I follow along with the video tutorial and am able to create a ROM without errors. The problem is that it hangs on the splash screen after flashing. Normally I would see a hang like this if I made a registry error, but in this case I am cooking a stock ROM with no changes.
Do I need to modify anything before I can cook a stock ROM? I shouldn't need to port anything since I am working with an official hTC ROM. There are not that many references to people using Platformrebuilder, so I'm not sure where else to go for help. The Platformrebuilder forum is not very active.

I downloaded the stock kitchen & tools and then applied the update to 2.1.
While reading the Platformrebuilder comments over in the darkforcesteam forums I read a mention that v2.1 added support for AKU5. This made me think that maybe the new version was causing me problems. I extracted the original platformrebuilder.exe from the BASIC_RK.rar and copied over the 2.1 version and voila problem solved. Without changing anything in the kitchen, I built a new ROM and this time it didn't freeze at the splash screen.
I guess I will post this over in the darkforcesteam forum, though I don't know why this wouldn't have come up already.
UPDATE: !Aman! pointed out to me that I need to add 'set OLDKERNEL=1' to 'build_rom.bat' when using the updated exe (v2.1). This variable was not used in the original kitchen, so it needs to be added manually if you use the updated exe. The variable was added to support WM 6.5 ROMs (AKU5). It was not covered in the video tutorial (tutorial was released before update) and the notes are not clear unless you know what AKU5 is. Thanks to !Aman! and ark666 for responding to my questions. =)
