I don't know anything about that, but a free IM program I use is Palringo.

That's because it is coded to work on specific devices.

AIM 2/ PPC2002 - "Not valid to run on this device ?&quo

Hi all,
I just tried to load the new AIM for PPC2002 on my SER 1.2 XDA and it installed fine, but when trying to run it - it said it was not valid to run on the device..
Has anyone else seen this ??
Yes. In fact, I saw it on the new 4.00.16 T-Mobile ROM. It has the program installed (in 'Program Files' even), but it doesn't work giving the same message, and there's no link to it in 'Programs' either.
Keep in mind this is a US T-Mo software upgrade. The version of AIM that comes with it is for US T-Mo only. It checks your SIM card ID and if you are on any other network other than US T-Mo it will not run. You can do a search online to get the Old AIM client for PPC or you can buy the new one they both work since they are not specific to T-Mo version. I don't know why this is other than this software is avail for download off their website and anyone could get it for free since AOL has now decided to sell it and released a newer full client that also deos AOL Mail.
Hmm another thought is since its in ROM you might be able to overwrite all the .dlls in the \windows\ dir with the .dlls that are in the older version or maybe overwritting the listed files that are diff between 40011 & 40016 with blank text files with same name and changed file ext. This would however require you to remove the T-mo apps from start up incase it looks for any of these files durring start up. There's always a way unless devices stop thinking in x&o/1&0's.
Easy path just find th eold one it's online some where.

VZW Touch Pro Themes.

Hello All,
First off I want to say I have done a lot of searching in this forum and many others concerning my problem. My problem is trying to switch the TF3D theme from the stock verizon theme to the original black. From what I have read, I have been instructed to dl Diamond TF3D Config Setup, which I did many times. It loads successfully, but when I launch the program it gives me an unexpected error message. Does anybody know what is going on and how I can fix it? Does it have to do with it being a verizon phone; ifso, how can I change my theme?
Thanks.
Hello Noobie
Yea you need to delete the tweaks and it should work. You should also switch your roms. Verison software is horrible-by far the worst. Very slow.
Thanks alot. Its just that one file within the cab right? So I would delete this before putting it on my phone and running it?
Also, I really do want to flash the ROM, but I'm still not sure which one to use. Any recommendations? Are they stable enough at least as much as the stock rom? I just don't want to flash a rom with hella stuff on it that takes up memory and compromises stability and reliability.
Thanks again.
You need to install .Net 3.5 in order for Diamond tweaks to work. Search for .net framework 3.5 and install that first.
i already intstalled 3.5. still did not work. but i have not tried deleting the tweak file. im just not sure if ineed to delet on my computer before i move the cab to my phone and run it.
hi guys can any one till me where can i downmoad the full file of .Net 3.5 ? i mean the 37mb file not the 2.6mb from microsoft website. i have internet only in my phone and i ca't have access to pc with internet. so if anyone can till me where to find the full size .net 3.5 to download i will be thankfull

help with themes
So have i been searching around for a while and have not been able to figure out what the hell i'm doing wrong...
i installed DiamondTF3d conf tool, i downloaded some themes (.cab(s)) but i was not able to find them while going through TF3D config. I'm sure it's something simple i'm not dong, any help would be appreciated.

registry edit in kitchen question

Hi guys so i got a a US cellular ROM and used rstoyguy's blank kitchen from ppc. I took out all the unwanted programs that i dont need and i wanted to edit some registry, the thing is i couldn't find the hv files to edit. the reason for this is when i flash the phone using this ROM i edited and go to SMS/MMS and go to mms options i could get rid of USC in the servers tab. I know how to find it in the registry editor manually but what i want to do is to edit the registry in the actual rom so when i flash it to a phone the server tab in mms is already unlocked and doesn't show me USC. any ideas? or should i use another kitchen ?
In my GSM kitchen, I can inject registry changes in an .RGU file or .PROVXML file.
If your CDMA kitchen contains such files, you could look to inject your registry change that way.
Make sure to use a Text Editor that supports Unicode format as well.
HTH,
So my problem was the text editor. LOL i feel stupid now. thanks a bunch
Phone: Location Setting
Start-Phone-Menu-Options-Services-Location Settings-Get Settings
The location consent form has “US Cellular “ wording throughout the warning.
How do you edit this? I changed a lot of settings already but still no luck?
Why do you want to change that?
im just trying to make a generic rom. Without any trace of any other carrier. When you look at the USC ROM it seems to be one of the cleanest and easiest to modify, easy to understand. Once i finish this, this may help a lot of people who needs it. so please help me pls. Thats the only thing i need to take out. I found the registry in these files mxipupdate_oemoperators_104 and mxipupdate_oemoperators_106 but once i edit it just shows me a black box with scrolls on the side. I coudn't see the original consent like the once found in the registry. Instead it is blocked by another page. help thanks

Modifying ActionMenu.dll?

Hi all,
I was trying to modify the ActionMenu that pops up when you slide the querty out. This is on a HTC S740, but I suppose it would be the same for all HTC devices with a slide out keyboard. My intention was to edit it in a way that option nr. 3 (messenger) brings up a different messenger than WLMessenger, as I never use this one.
My findings so far are that the information to the links are stored in a dll called ActionMenu in the windows folder. I was able to open it with notepad, however editing the path for the messenger somehow broke the whole dll so ActionMenu won't pop up at all anymore when sliding the keyboard open. I also tried editing it with XN Resource Editor, but there nothing is displayed. So for now I am at my wits end.
Maybe someone else could help out here? Would truly be appreciated.
Regards,
.-ombre-.
Dll is a compiled library and therefore a binary file... If you would like to edit it this brute way you should use hex editor and only REPLACE links. That means, new link must have the same lenght as the old one and none of bytes should be moved. Then obviously, final file must have the same size as the old one.
Anyway, then it mustn't work either.
yeah, thats something I tried in the meantime and no, that doesnt work either..
Oh well..

[Q] What does "this tool is depreciated" Mean in GoSMS Theme Maker?

I am a programming noob and I need some help. I just need someone to translate an error message for me. I have already made two complete themes successfully with this tool.
http://gosms.goforandroid.com/?p=235
When it is compiling the APK though, I get an "error" that says "THIS TOOL IS DEPRECIATED" (see attached screenshot). Yes, it is in all caps, which makes me think this is important. Sometimes if I see this the tool does not apply my changes...I get an APK, but it is the same APK I had before with no changes made.
I am a designer, not a programmer. I know enough to slop my way through the process using tools like this, but I don't know what messages like this mean or even if they matter at all. I have been able to compile usable APK despite this warning, but I'd still like to know what is triggering it and whether or not I should care about it.
I get this even with a "fresh" copy of the ZIP for the tool and deleting the old one.
I have tried googling this phrase with GOSMS and the threads are mostly translations from asian developers and I can't really understand them.
Any ideas?
