I have a strtrk with the "HTC Cingular® 3125/3100 ROM (AKU 3.4.2) - 4.1.502.5" installed. But the phone is English only now. The only choice I have in the T9 Menu and Regional Settings is "English US".
I dont plan to change the Regional Settings, but it would be nice to have the T9 in German.
Is there a way, ore do i need a German version of Windows Mobile 5 ?
Some time ago I have added Czech T9 to my Qtek with Cingular Rom.
German T9 is available for download from:

(I have edited some registry values, but I had it from different source. This installers should includes everything I hope)

i am running on Schaps 3.54c WWE and its no problem at all!
Just two things to mention:
-The word completion only contains english words (maybe it can be replaced by a german dictionary, don't know)
- The Keyboard Layout from the slideout keyboard has to be adjusted to German (QWERTZ) instead of Englisch (QWERTY). i did this with Schaps advanced config tool, but you can also do that in the registry, just look at the WIKI.

I have good news for all who uses Erofich's wonderful Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro ROM on HTC StrTrk aka Qtek8500 aka Cingular 3125 aka ... that want a XT9 Language Pack.
Here is the "StefanV3 StrTrk WM61PRO XT9 Language Pack" featuring 10 languages (8 new):

I could only test the languages english and german because these are the only languages i speak. If the other languages are wrong then sorry, but i am not able to fix it. It is a mix from files of "Modaco Shadow XT9 Language Pack" and ripped files rom the official "PegasusP_20080125_V4_8_1_WWE_SG00" ROM Update for ASUS P750. I used the ldb files (XT9 word libary) and registry entries from "Shadow XT9 language pack" and ripped out all kdb files (hardware keypad layout) from the ASUS P750 ROM.
It is available as CAB so you can install it Easy.
This is only for HTC StrTrk aka Qtek 8500 aka Cingular 3125 flashed with Erofichs WM 6.1 Professional ROM. I can't guarantee that it works with other smartphones/pocket pc. If you use it onother devices it could damage your Windows Mobile so you have to reflash the device in bootloader mode.
Thanks to Erofich for his great Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for HTC StrTrk and providing me with informations about the keypad files which he used in his WM6.1 ROM.

For this i need the right kdb file but the Original ASUS P750 ROm where i ripped the kdb files does not include greek. When i found it, i will add it...

I'm sorry, but there is no turkich xt9 available this time. It's the same problem with greek language. Finding a language specific word database files (*.ldb) isn't the problem but at this time it lacks due the right language specific keyboard definiton file (*.kdb)
But i open my eyes and when i find the right finles, i will include it...

Finally I found the greek files and I attached here.
I put them in windows directory, add the registry values and it works, but the keymapping it's wrong.
Is there any way to correct this?
Anyway of adding dutch language?

These files are for HTC Niki aka Touch Dual. It has a qwertz/qwerty keypad. Key "1" is "q" and "w", 2. is "e","r" and "t" ... The ldb file will work but we need an other kdb file. If there is anyyone who can give me a Greek ASUS P750 ROM (with greek xt9) i will extract it and put it in the language pack.
This is the same with dutch xt9...
But you can try a T9-Pack that is available at asusmobile.ru -> http://asusmobile.ru/files/Soft/T9_by_ASUSMobile.RU.zip . You have to install t9.cab first and then t9_activate.cab and additional t9 languges available at http://melgurth.ovh.org/index.php?page=downloads .
But i can't guarantee you if this works.

Thanks for your awnser. I'll wait until we found a usable kdb file for xt9.
The t9 solution seems to don't work with greek, or I missed something. I install the cabs with the order that you said but the resault is the keypad to write only numbers and the # key doesn't pops up the menu.

Perhaps the keypad file isn't that important for Dutch, cuz the layout is almost? the same as for US English.

Please tell me if it works. I tried this with german ldb and english kdb before i got hands on the P750 ROM. It doesnt work it only writes numbers...
If it works, tell me what you hav done and i include it in my package...

This works for normal T9 with Dutch, not the fancy XT9, but anything better then nothing for me.
BTW i'm running WM 6.1 clean rom from GnatGoSplat

It started with one cab I made for Dutch XT9 on my Dual because I got tired of doing the settings manually after every flash. But now I am planning to make cabs for all the available languages and to make one multilanguage pack with 14 languages in it.
These XT9 cabs will enable the hardware and software Touch keyboard with your language.
Standard keyboard
These cabs will only work with the standard keyboard for the Niki which come with the standard wm6.0 and wm6.1 roms:
1. Czech (please test)
2. Danish
3. Dutch
4. Finnish
5. Norwegian
6. Polish
7. Portuguese (finally, please test)
8. Russian
9. Swedish
10. Greek (for the software keyboard to work switch to greek in the sip settings touch keyboard otherwise it doesn't work)
And I also have a multilanguage pack available in cab or OEM. 12 languages are included the first seven languages plus English, German, French, Italian and Spanish:
- 12 language multilanguage pack CAB
- 12 language multilanguage pack OEM
EzInput 1.5
In the roms of NemanjaLO and d_train the EzInput 1.5 keyboard is included. The cabs from DupinBJK for the languages work but are missing a couple of registry keys to select the language (which were present in his base package) so I've added them to the Dutch cab. If there are people who want me to add it to the other language cabs please ask and I will upload it here.
Please note that I can only edit the files which have the hardware keypad enabled which is stated in the post. See if your language is present here and if it is working with the hardware keypad. All credits go out to DupinBJK off course and all original files for the EzInput 1.5 keyboard can be found here

Thanks for you time, i have install the cab but know when i press 4 to get h i get the sign from button 7
I thought it was working... Hmmm, well that's probabely because I didn't had the right file for the hardware keyboard.
I downloaded it from I site but I think it's for another phone. The site was in Danish so I couldn't make a lot of it. Do you have an original file for the dual. The files name is: dahpd.kdb. If you have that one I can give it another try.
I'm downloading the Danish rom from netrunners directory and see if I can get the file out of there. I will report back if I have news.
Update: I've extracted the files from the Danish Rom and put them in the cab. I've tested it on my Dual and it seems to work can you check please? The cab in the startpost is updated.

I will, I am planning to make cabs for all languages. Most of the times the hardest thing is to find the right files and especially the one for the harware keyboard. For norwegian this would be nohpd.kdb. I will have a look for myself see if I can find a Norwegian Rom with the files. But if you can provide it that would be great.
Edit:Will make a swedish also. Found all the files needed in a Danish rom.
Added Swedish, Norwegian and Polish Cab please test.

The touch keyboard and keypad don't show the scandinavian letters in the UI (åäö) but I can live with that as the letters work when pressing the correct keys.

What do you mean with the user interface? Do you mean the onscreen software keyboard? If so that is correct since I didn't do anything with the onscreen keyboard. Otherwise please explain what you mean exactly.

I made a new version of the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian & Swedish cabs with the nordic keymap so now the touch software keyboard comes up with the scandinavian letters.
I used the dutch CAB, but now my keypad acts as an 20-key qwerty keypad in dutch instead of a 12-key keypad. Can you fix an 12-key dutch cab?
Hmm that's strange I also have the 12 (16) key version and didn't had that problem. Which rom are you using?

I have downgraded my device (C550) to the Russian Qtek ROM.
It is working fine after i changed language to english. I want to send an SMS, but the SMS language is Russian ? Even after i have changed the Regional Settings to Dutch (Netherlands).
I tried the "NL T9.cab" but that didn't work. My phone said "Installation unsuccesful". I think that is because the .cab file is for WM5/WM6

My brother has on his SE XPERIA X1 wm 6.5 and he can change in the options the language form german to english, france, spanish etc.
Can i use a english, italian, france or other niki rom and change in the options the language to german?
