Has anyone tried out this battery? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Accessories

Hey guys, has anyone here tried out this battery? Seems pretty cheap. I know it to be a good dealer but I am unsure of this battery.

Of course you know it to be a good dealer - YOU'RE advertising them in your signature.
How about YOU try one of the batteries YOU are advertising and then tell us how good it really is

I was just asking because these appear to be the UTSTARCOMM batteries that are being sold on Ebay for our phones. And was wondering if anyone has tried these.

Hehehehehe... I sense self-plugging. Lame.
I can however vouch that I am using the 3000mAh battery from Lion Battery and I think they are very, very good. I would recommend it since you know that if you get it from them you are getting something from a reliable source. I am sure not the only one who would confirm that.

well i have dealt a lot with DX, never have an issue if a product dies. prompt replacement and free shipping on everything. no i don't work for them, just a fan of cheap stuff that do the job.

So that battery in the link WILL fit the TYTN?
Nevermind. They only accept PayPal (see www.paypalsucks.com).

regardless of how u feel about paypal i still stand behind DX's customer service.

I got screwed on an ebay auction claiming it was an OEM HTC 8525 battery, and was sent the UTSTARCOMM battery out of the PPC6700.. needless to say I'm pissed, but I'm giving it a try.

Hmmm ... I think I agree with agovinoveritas ... appears to be self-plugging.
And I've also used Lion Battery through the years for laptops and phones ... never disappointed!

Battery for HTC Dream (Canada)

Hey, I've been looking around for an extra battery for the HTC Dream and I've been having trouble finding a good deal.
Alot of them don't ship to canada or they have a crazy shipping which doubles the price. And most of them are those big ones that makes ur phone fat like a brick, which is definitly something I don't want.
So anyone knows somewhere I could get an extra htc dream battery that ships to canada for a good price. Preferably something more powerful (1600-1700) but tbh, a normal one would do too if it's a good price.

I just bought this battery, the cheaper 9.99 sketchy looking one. The shipper looked solid with 30,000+ positive user reviews, so I thought I'd at least try it. Battery is shipping from China to Los Angeles as we speak, I'll let you know how it performs as soon as I get it.

[Q] Viewsonic G Tablet Battery Replacement Information?

I am trying to track down battery replacements for the Viewsonic G Tablet; and yes I did go through all of the threads to see if this information has already been posted elsewhere.
I would like to have the information handy in case mine decide to crap out. Has anyone been able to find a source, part number or anything on this subject?
Wasnt aware that the battery was exchangable.
You will have to open the case and remove/replace it yourself or send it in to viewsonic. I would just prefer to replace it myself...
Any leads on this would be great... I would love to have the option to do this myself so I wouldn't have to bring my Gtab back to stock and ship it to Viewsonic.
Is there someone out there willing to open their tab and get numbers off the battery to research this?
Someone has done a tear down, I think you would need to find out what the make/model of the battery is. Once that is done, you shouldn't have a problem sourcing one.
Pictures of the inside of the gtablet here:

How old is you gTab? Seem really odd that it would already have killed the battery... likely a hardware failure of some sort
Going to call Viewsonic tomorrow and see how much one is going to be.

I bought it from woot this year... I was thinking a bad battery, perhaps, although hardware failure is a possibility.
The tablet works fine if the charger is plugged in.
raven, I'm going to try that too but I'm not very hopeful that they can help.
I may also go down to the battery store and see if they can make one.
Can you give me the measurements? In inches or milimeter. I am actually going to take mine apart tonight, you can get single cell lipo batteries in about any configuration imaginable. I was just looking at thin cells in 10K mah it would take a couple days to charge but would last a couple on a charge also. The main thing to be accurate on would be thickness I would think.
I've already put mine back together, sorry.
I called up Viewsonic and they want me to send in the tablet so they can look at it. And they said if they found something wrong they would replace the tablet free of charge. lol
Ha! They said the same thing to me, I mailed it yesterday.
Thats awesome, but I would prefer being able to just purchase parts if I could. What would be crazy if they sent you the new dual boot version instead.
There is a guy (rosco_pc) who is in China and had gotten some other gTab parts over there; I asked him if he'd seen the battery anywhere. He checked with the suppliers he used and said he wasn't able to locate one.
He gave me these characters to use in a search:
万利达电池
Part of that is "Malata" and part of it is "battery" (IIRC). Malata makes a lot of electronics, so sifting through the search results from that are tiring. But you could try it.
I found a wholesaler who had one very close to ours, but you had to buy 1000 at a time.

Until we get more in stock, there is a vendor in Hongkong selling them very cheaply on ebay.
Shipping is free but takes 2-3 weeks from China. The cables do work, we bought one to test and compare to ours, but are not full 5 pin cables and are not fully shielded. They are also only 2.5 ft. Opposed to 6 ft. I wish they were widely available and cheap as they should be for such a simple but critically valuable tool, but they arent. As more devices with non removable batteries become increasingly prevalent, perhaps that will change.

But the very first thing you need to do is you need to know chinese
Go into your local wireless store and ask if they have an extra one they can give you or sell. Thats what I did and got it for free.
Phone so sharp, I sliced myself.
Ye i seen the ebay 1 but its more like 5-6weeks as they wait for 3 business days to make sure payment clears then 20-25 working days for uk deliv. still ordered but tbh im pretty impatient. Hence if any 1 was able to make me a working 1/sell me theirs asap n wer from uk i wud defo buy n pay more!
Also wireless store? Sorry from uk so what store should i look out for? or am i just being a blonde here n that is in the uk? Lol
Appreciate the responses!! Thanx guys

Once I get the cable, I could refund the cost of a fed ex or USPS express envelope to you via paypal... we could use the traders feedback as an incentive...

Flyer internal batteries now available.........

I found a source for Flyer batteries. They emailed me today to tell me they are now ready to ship.
Depending on the numbers of interested parties and cost of shipping from the supplier to myself in the UK and then from me to you will denote the final price of the battery. The cost will be different for everyone depending on where you live.
If anyone is interested let me know so i have an idea of numbers. I'm bringing in 10 minimum anyway but if i need more there's no problem to get some more.

10 Batteries Ordered )
Hi all,
I've just ordered 10 batteries (4000mAh @ 3.7v) and have a pigtail with connector on the end identical to the original battery), and they should be here in a couple of weeks. I'm keeping 2 for myself and letting the other 8 go. If you're interested please let me know otherwise they will be going on eBay in due course at full price.
I'm selling these at the discounted price of £25 per battery + postage to wherever you are in the world. Payment in GBP (Sterling) and you pay the transaction fee.
They'll be going on eBay if there are no takers here and they will be selling at £34.99 with a set of tools to crack open your Flyer.
As soon as they are here i'll post.
In the meantime if anyone wants one please let me know as it's first come first serve.
The reason i've bought them is because i refused to pay HTC UK £60 just to open my Flyer and look at it, and another £60 to replace the battery. That's a rip off if ever there was one. Doing it myself it cost me just the price i've paid for the battery. Job done!!
Cheers,
Francis

It's very easy to do. Just a little bit fiddly but very easy to do. I opened mine the other day with a cheap pack of tools i got off eBay and i was surprised at just how straightforward it was. There's a couple of screws and some very gentle prising of the case and it comes away no problem.
There are 2 or 3 ribbon cables to undo and that's about it.

Speaking of batteries.....They arrived just now. Didn't take long but then they were DHL'd.
I only ordered 10 just to get a little bit of discount off them and even at that they are still much cheaper than getting them from HTC who won't sell you one anyway. And bar that rednck link i've never seen any for sale anywhere and i looked for a long time.
If i'd ordered 50 they might be a heck of a lot cheaper but £25 is cost and as cheap as i could sell them on here without losing out.
If you want one from me though it will be via eBay now.
Cheers
R they original HTC ones or copies?
The only place you're ever going to get an original (OEM) factory HTC battery is from HTC themselves and they don't sell them without HTC fitting them. At £120 for the pleasure....no thanks!!
Every other battery on the market regardless of what logo they they have printed on them or where they were manufactured will be generic. My batteries don't even say HTC on them so they can't be called copies or fakes unlike the one on your link that says HTC.
My batteries are manufactured by a well known LiPo battery manufacturer in China and they are extremely good quality. I fitted one the following day after they arrived, took less than 15 mins.
Currently my Flyer has been on since 7am and it's now nearly 6pm, I have made several calls today, used wifi and mobile network both on youtube and internet for about 20mins, made some notes, and been on standby the rest of the time.....currently telling me 91%.
It should improve a little bit more with a couple more battery calibrations over the next week or so. It will last all day long and then some now and is working as well as my original HTC battery ever did when that was new.
I don't need an original HTC battery...thanks

If you were selling a car, or some bits you had at home, or whatever you were selling, and somebody comes along and posts links to stuff being advertised elsewhere you wouldn't be too pleased would you?
This is your sale, not someone else's!! They have no business whatsoever screwing up your sale with their unhelpful link posting. They should be posting their own helpful stuff on their own thread if that's what they want to do.
That's just plain out of order and shows either mal intent on their part or, if they genuinely believed they were doing nothing wrong they are clearly to stupid to realise what they've done which is just as bad!!
It doesn't even matter if the stuff was the same price as yours, your sale/s is/are lost or will be passed by!!
Final chance to buy a battery!!
I've got 3 batteries left (with no tools) which i will offer on here for £25 + postage and you pay the PayPal transaction fee. I cannot sell them any cheaper than that otherwise they will be costing me to sell to you.
When they are gone they are gone, and unless there is more demand than i have batteries for i won't be buying any more after this.
Final chance to get one of these and you don't have long. PM me if you're interested and we'll take it from there!!

Your arrogance is noted Redneck and you're wasting your breath. Now you are showing mal intent and that's just fine. You're showing yourself up to being a persistent **** as well and that's OK too. You carry on!!
If you're so smart why don't you go out, buy yourself some Flyer batteries and offer XDA members a good deal instead of critiquing my offering at cost? Put your money where your mouth is instead of trying to piss me off for doing exactly that.

Trust me when i say you'll get very little discount for buying 10 batteries from China. 50 batteries yes, but 10 very little. There's also the small matter of getting the batteries into the UK, then there is the cost of Custom and Excise charges on top when the batteries get here, and VAT on top of that again, but of course you already knew that didn't you?. Get your facts right!!
And let me tell you something else....£25 in the UK is nothing!! They are as cheap as you will get here!!! I bought similar for my s4 and while they weren't as good as stock they were probably 80% of stock and I used them many times over the course of 14 months without issue. Probably will buy these for my g3

Aftermarket batteries is one thing I would stay far away from unless they are a legitimate company with a reputation.\
Like you said, why spend $600 on a phone and cheap out on battery? Obviously, if people are buying a 2nd battery, they want it as a backup and be able to provide that extra charge. Not catch on fire or die on you.

1 month warranty is not enough. 1 month will not show anything. It can happen at 1month and 1 day. You're out of warranty. Now what?
You get what you paid.
I will wait till Tradeon on amazon have their on stock. They have pretty good review on other phone battery.
