Flyer internal batteries now available......... - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I found a source for Flyer batteries. They emailed me today to tell me they are now ready to ship.
Depending on the numbers of interested parties and cost of shipping from the supplier to myself in the UK and then from me to you will denote the final price of the battery. The cost will be different for everyone depending on where you live.
If anyone is interested let me know so i have an idea of numbers. I'm bringing in 10 minimum anyway but if i need more there's no problem to get some more.

I'm talking about the internal battery for the HTC Flyer. If you don;t know what i'm talking about you probably don't need one.

10 Batteries Ordered )
Hi all,
I've just ordered 10 batteries (4000mAh @ 3.7v) and have a pigtail with connector on the end identical to the original battery), and they should be here in a couple of weeks. I'm keeping 2 for myself and letting the other 8 go. If you're interested please let me know otherwise they will be going on eBay in due course at full price.
I'm selling these at the discounted price of £25 per battery + postage to wherever you are in the world. Payment in GBP (Sterling) and you pay the transaction fee.
They'll be going on eBay if there are no takers here and they will be selling at £34.99 with a set of tools to crack open your Flyer.
As soon as they are here i'll post.
In the meantime if anyone wants one please let me know as it's first come first serve.
The reason i've bought them is because i refused to pay HTC UK £60 just to open my Flyer and look at it, and another £60 to replace the battery. That's a rip off if ever there was one. Doing it myself it cost me just the price i've paid for the battery. Job done!!
Cheers,
Francis

Interested. But crack open the flyer myself worries me

It's very easy to do. Just a little bit fiddly but very easy to do. I opened mine the other day with a cheap pack of tools i got off eBay and i was surprised at just how straightforward it was. There's a couple of screws and some very gentle prising of the case and it comes away no problem.
There are 2 or 3 ribbon cables to undo and that's about it.

Have a look for yourself, lots of close up pictures.

Do you still have the batteries?

I'm still waiting for them to be delivered, nothing has arrived yet. As soon as they arrive i'll post and let everyone know.

Unhelpful............
Great Link!!
I could have done with that months ago before i decided to buy these batteries. Perhaps though you should have stuck it it on your own thread!!
OK folks, I'll be putting my batteries up on eBay if you want one.

Perhaps redneck....next time you can do it on our own thread.
Prey that if ever you're selling something on this forum i don't come along and post alternatives on the same thread...Just to be helpful to members of course I'll be watching your threads/postings with interest.

Speaking of batteries.....They arrived just now. Didn't take long but then they were DHL'd.
I only ordered 10 just to get a little bit of discount off them and even at that they are still much cheaper than getting them from HTC who won't sell you one anyway. And bar that rednck link i've never seen any for sale anywhere and i looked for a long time.
If i'd ordered 50 they might be a heck of a lot cheaper but £25 is cost and as cheap as i could sell them on here without losing out.
If you want one from me though it will be via eBay now.
Cheers

R they original HTC ones or copies?

The only place you're ever going to get an original (OEM) factory HTC battery is from HTC themselves and they don't sell them without HTC fitting them. At £120 for the pleasure....no thanks!!
Every other battery on the market regardless of what logo they they have printed on them or where they were manufactured will be generic. My batteries don't even say HTC on them so they can't be called copies or fakes unlike the one on your link that says HTC.
My batteries are manufactured by a well known LiPo battery manufacturer in China and they are extremely good quality. I fitted one the following day after they arrived, took less than 15 mins.
Currently my Flyer has been on since 7am and it's now nearly 6pm, I have made several calls today, used wifi and mobile network both on youtube and internet for about 20mins, made some notes, and been on standby the rest of the time.....currently telling me 91%.
It should improve a little bit more with a couple more battery calibrations over the next week or so. It will last all day long and then some now and is working as well as my original HTC battery ever did when that was new.
I don't need an original HTC battery...thanks

If you were selling a car, or some bits you had at home, or whatever you were selling, and somebody comes along and posts links to stuff being advertised elsewhere you wouldn't be too pleased would you?
This is your sale, not someone else's!! They have no business whatsoever screwing up your sale with their unhelpful link posting. They should be posting their own helpful stuff on their own thread if that's what they want to do.
That's just plain out of order and shows either mal intent on their part or, if they genuinely believed they were doing nothing wrong they are clearly to stupid to realise what they've done which is just as bad!!
It doesn't even matter if the stuff was the same price as yours, your sale/s is/are lost or will be passed by!!

Final chance to buy a battery!!
I've got 3 batteries left (with no tools) which i will offer on here for £25 + postage and you pay the PayPal transaction fee. I cannot sell them any cheaper than that otherwise they will be costing me to sell to you.
When they are gone they are gone, and unless there is more demand than i have batteries for i won't be buying any more after this.
Final chance to get one of these and you don't have long. PM me if you're interested and we'll take it from there!!

Ok since u moan so much - lets see...
1 British pound = 1.5673 U.S. dollars
25 X 1.5673 = 39,2
So battery costs 40$ + postage + transaction fee = as posted DISCOUNTED! LOL That easlly can be ower 60$
If u add that together u get 2 batteries from link i provided and since i am slow in mine head i onlly now see why is it unhelpfull. I dont know how much u payed for batteries since they can be golden as well. I simply provided a link so ppl can see how much they go for and obviuslly they go for half a price but might not be golden like yours.
So if ppl cant aford 50$+ batteries they stil might get one for 29$ (including shiping and transaction fee secured by paypal and 30 days money back waranty). Dont forget i am geting a huge provision for advertising.
Oh and enjoy monitoring mine sales for rip offs. Be welcome and post with helpfull links where ppl can see their options. U trying to make me look bad for providing a good reference wheil u charging DISCOUNTED price for batteries for rate of X2? Jezus

Your arrogance is noted Redneck and you're wasting your breath. Now you are showing mal intent and that's just fine. You're showing yourself up to being a persistent **** as well and that's OK too. You carry on!!
If you're so smart why don't you go out, buy yourself some Flyer batteries and offer XDA members a good deal instead of critiquing my offering at cost? Put your money where your mouth is instead of trying to piss me off for doing exactly that.
I didn't have to offer these batteries to xda members but i did, and i could have put them all on eBay but i didn't. Ultimately you won't do the same as me because you've got all the answers and no action, in fact you're full of ****, but i forgive you!!
Trust me when i say you'll get very little discount for buying 10 batteries from China. 50 batteries yes, but 10 very little. There's also the small matter of getting the batteries into the UK, then there is the cost of Custom and Excise charges on top when the batteries get here, and VAT on top of that again, but of course you already knew that didn't you?. Get your facts right!!
And let me tell you something else....£25 in the UK is nothing!! They are as cheap as you will get here!!! If you can get them cheaper elsewhere good for you, and If you do want super cheap batteries please get one from your own link otherwise if you're not wanting a battery from me go and bother someone that gives a toss!!

Cheap flyers for sale

Thought I would share this if anyone is looking for a flyer. TechforLess is selling open box and refurbished flyers for $179 and $199. I have no affiliation with this site but I'm hoping to help someone since people are still looking for these. This is a steal and I would order one if I did not already have one.

If you go through my coupons com, then you can get ten percent off, but you better act fast because the site is getting hammered and stock is going fast
Nice, I just picked up a second Flyer. Hmmm..Why did I just do that? Oh well I'm sure I can find someplace to use it. Price was just too good to pass up. Good Pre-Black Friday Deal.
Picked one up earlier tonight, can't wait for it to get here. Got the TouchPad up for sale now haha.
Took a risk on this as well. Hope it pans out.

Because it's simply an awesome tablet?
I wish we had things like that over here...
I use this as a Daily internet portal, listening to music on Spotify, ebook, sketch design concepts, taking notes for work. Anytime I travel, this Little tablet is the one thing I take with me on the plane. I don't really play that many games on it, some and it does a decent job for that. So I think these Specs will be fine as long as the Apps I use doesn't require a Quad-Core. Might gift another tablet to myself, but probably sell it to a co-worker who might need the all around awesomeness of HTC Flyer at cost.

Just got in for the $199 Open Box HTC Flyer. I'm so glad I waited. I came so close to buying this afternoon and then I went to work at 4pm to 2 am came home and it was $100 cheaper then the $299 I was gonna pay.
FYI: I just checked eBay and they are still selling for around $290 used.
Looks like they sold out of the refurbs that were $180.
OUT Of Stock but got mine with 3 left.

Same here. It was $295 and I almost bought one but went to Best Buy to ***** at them in person for jerking me around. I come home about an hour later (found a friend camping outside Best Buy) and it was $199.49! I couldn't click buy fast enough. Thank you Best Buy but you still suck.
I also bought one from techforless. We will see what happens. They got good reviews on Google shopper.

I live in Colorado Springs and have purchased from Tech for less many times, to all that have doubts, I would say you have nothing to worry about and will receive a quality product for the price, the reason they did this is because they had over 800 yesterday and when they have a large amout of inventory they do what is called a fire sale and that is how they move a lot of merchandise in a very short period of time. I wish I would have seen the sale would have liked one myself, OH WELL I guess I just missed out. Congrats to all that got one you got a heck of a deal!!!

Will this work with cases that we have already? For example, it just replaces the existed door, right? Doesn't add any more thickness so we can't use the existing cases we have? Thanks in advance. I'm asking because I read the reviews on the BestBuy site and two of them say that it does add bulk slightly. Just don't want to buy this thing and then find out it's a matter of using this and not being able to use my existing case with it.

Not 100% as I don't have one yet, but I think it might add some additional thickness. So my guess is you will need new case. Maybe someone who purchased already can answer this better than me.

There's one listed on 23rd street and 6th ave here in the City. I was going to go and buy it in person and try it with the tough case I bought a week or so ago already on the phone. Figure I can always return it if they don't have a restocking fee.
Will post more information tomorrow once I check it out.
Thanks for the information, regardless. Much appreciated.

It does add some thickness. Not so much that you will notice it in your hand, but enough that most fitted hard cases will not fit properly. This is a discussion worth reviewing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609406
I went to the BestBuy in 44th and 5th in the City. They're clueless. Two guys with "Samsung Experience Specialists" jerseys or jackets or whatever those zip up things are, the guy kept trying to sell me something COMPLETELY unrelated to what I wanted. Finally I asked him if he had the Qi-compatible charging stand and he said no. Said he only gets "about 2 in a week". I gave up and walked out.

FWIW, I live very close to Best Buy's HQ here in MN. I know a lot of good people employed by them. With BB being a hometown store here I am rarely more than 7 or 8 minutes from a store location wherever I travel in town... That said: I drive past all of them in favor of any competitor, even if I have to go further and/or spend a little more. I do not feel they practice good business ethics as a company, and I do my best boycott them. I do some consulting work, and on occasion am forced to buy a computer component from them. I have had to do this 7 times in the last 10 years, and 5 of those times ended up with a sales person who either lied, or was completely clueless sharing bogus information as fact - in spite of their being the in-store "expert". Good luck to all who shop there, but please don't count on their staff to help educate you on making a sound purchase.

Any idea on this battery?

Anybody use this battery ? What is your view? Thinking to get this but no idea how it is. Please share your view?

I bought similar for my s4 and while they weren't as good as stock they were probably 80% of stock and I used them many times over the course of 14 months without issue. Probably will buy these for my g3

A guy on G+ G3 community got one and said the phone shut down after taking vidoes or something. Personally after speding 600 on a phone I would only buy LG brand batteries if I was to buy another one. I just read another story on a S4 that caught on fire. It had a cheap ebay after market battery.

Aftermarket batteries is one thing I would stay far away from unless they are a legitimate company with a reputation.\
Like you said, why spend $600 on a phone and cheap out on battery? Obviously, if people are buying a 2nd battery, they want it as a backup and be able to provide that extra charge. Not catch on fire or die on you.

1 month warranty is not enough. 1 month will not show anything. It can happen at 1month and 1 day. You're out of warranty. Now what?
You get what you paid.

Free HP TOUCHPAD

Hi everybody
I have 2 Touchpad's that have unfortunately died, there's no damage to them but they refuse to charge.
I've now bought a Samsung galaxy tab pro so they are are up for grabs.
I would prefer collection but am happy to post with a sae if necessary.
Basis all the support and advice I've received here I would like to give back to the community.
Also have a couple of touchstones that are only being used as stands for my samsung.
I'm not on line as much as I used to be (Health reasons) so please DON'T expect an immediate response.
I will obviously be looking at post count and number of thanks when requests are in.

My oldest daughter uses our TouchPad, and has for years. My son is old enough now to be jealous. I would love to have another touchpad. I'd be happy to see if I could get one or both of those working and set them up with KK so that my kids can be on equal footing. I'm not familiar with 'collection' or 'SAE', my wife deals with shopping and shipping a lot more than I do. Do you have any takers yet?

SAE stands for self addressed envelope, yes one the big contributers has also asked for one. I believe that shipping cost to the US /Canada are approximately £20 ($32).I'm happy giving them away and will probably chuck in a Touchstone with each but don't want to be out £40 ie 20 per.
I will check on the cost and report back .
Roland you definitely have one to play with, I can't believe that haven't got one bearing in mind all the tutorials you have done.
If you and Roland are OK with that I'll get it organised next week or when ever is convenient.
Please note that I can't guarantee that you are able to get it to charge. They haven't been dropped but just refused to charge. Hopefully if you can't get it working you can cover your costs by selling for part's.

Hi
If you still have one of these I would love to have a play with it. I am actually in Brighton so could collect from you as long as you are accessible by bus (I don't drive)
Have you left them on the charger for hours??? I had the issue a couple times where they wouldn't charge, but after leaving them on the charger for hours they finally came back to life. Also, does the little light flash across the home button when you put them on a charger?
I am also interested. Any chance either of the TouchPads are the white 64-gig devices?
I understand at this point I am last in line, so if other takers back out, please let me know. I can paypal you the money ASAP.

I'll take one. I need it for parts.
@sstar Great thing you're doing, happy with my touchpads but would love a touchstone if you have one still. Contribution wise, my Touchpad Automated Installer has had 17500+ downloads so helped a fair few people!

Oneplus 2 Canadian Invite sharing thread

Since i am pretty sure of NOT getting this phone anytime soon ( i'm at about the 275000 position ) , why not look to my follow Canadians for invites. So if you guys/girls have spare invites, share them here, between Canadians. I'll do the same when i get mine ( if ever... )

Going to be busy...
Well, i would buy a 1+2 if the shipping price in Canada with custom duty was not so high... It's already over $500 CAD and i expect to charge $100+ more for shipping here. It's not a deal and you should wait to see if the new Nexus 5/6 2015's better or the OnePlus Two v2 incoming this year would be better or way better, a Project ARA phone if it don't fail. Also, Snapdragon 820's coming soon too. I am from Montréal in the Québec Province.

Hola
I am with you on this. I have the oneplus one and am currently using S6. I can't see much benefit of buying this version especially with a weak Canadian to US dollar rate.
I am holding out for the new Nexus. I will say that I miss my custom ROMs terribly, the S6 sucks eggs due to poor development. There are a few ROMs out there but nothing like oneplus or Nexus phones.
"So what you want me to do 'bout that?"
US dollar never stopped me from getting what i wanted, but i understand that it can get expensive. I never have anything shipped to Canada, crazy shipping rates, over charges, brokerage., etc... And they are using the WORST cie for that DHL.... I have my stuff shipped to the US near the border and go get it, it's a 30-45 minutes drive, get my stuff, go have a burger and a beer at the Plattsburg marina's Naked Turtle, and come back.
So according to info from the oneplus forums "There will NOT be any CBSA related Customs Duty Fee / Boarder fee when ordering and shipping the Oneplus 2!"
Shipping, the same cost as the oneplus one will be $28USD or approx $37CND
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/canadian-customers-no-more-customs-duty-fee.328542/
For US orders $389 + $16 (standard shipping) = $405USD or approx $530CND
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/official-oneplus-one-shipping-tax-u-s.13183/
For a total of $516CND it is currently cheaper to have it shipped to your door than heading over to the US. This will change back and forth depending on how the dollar goes, but all in all its not too bad.

That's great news. I think that last time ( Oneplus One ) only people from Quebec and Vancouver (?) got hit by a surcharge at delivery by DHL ?
I'm not sure about the DHL extra charge I suspect it's random and nothing to really do with Quebec or Vancouver. I mean all it takes is one DHL employee who isn't sure if the duty was paid or not and people will get double charged. That employee could be working at any DHL location.
Btw I'm number 5xx,000 on the reservation list so please help a brother out with an invite if and when possible. And I say xx cuz everytime I check the number grows, started at ~517,000 now I'm like ~580,000 [emoji20]

Not sure...lol This is what the app tells me but on website it's different....
You peeps really need to read this forum post..... The reservation list is NOT a guarantee you will receive an invite... It's simply used for unused inches and if that happens they will go to the list. I bought on the 11th and the price was $479.00 for the 2, with $36.98 shipping and $60 in taxes.... Crappy that the Canadian dollar is so bad right now...

As far as I know the only invites given are for Pop Ups and contests... I'm OnePlus member #380 and still have not received my early supporter invite... So it will be some time until the reservation list will be used... 8)
Fully aware of the fate of the reservation list members. It sucks but it is the official line. In all honesty I will wait until the nexus 2015 are available for purchase and don't prove to be overly offensive. The current LG based leaks looks horrible to me, I mean there are $100usd android one phones that look much better than that.
Soo as I was saying if I get the invite after I purchase a nexus 2015 then I'll just ignore it. The only reason why I am curious and want to try oneplus 2 is because there is such tremendous support for the oneplus one on xda.
While I want an invite asap I went into this eyes wide open. Which brings up the question, could I get your referral invite when you do get that?
Thks

Same thing for me , i'm on the list but unsure IF i will "push" to get one. I for one, won't degrade myself doing moronic stuff to get higer on the list , like they are asking people to do , i.e. flash mobs and stuff. Looking at reviews i am starting to think that my Oneplus One is still very capable, the 2 hasn't anything really that i want beside being shinny and new
Lol so true. At times I wonder if oneplus is a real company or if they are really an experiment being run by the psychological warfare arm of the people's liberation army.

Well, it looks like Canada isn't getting OnePlus Two for a while[emoji14] I am still eagerly awaiting my invite as well. Seems we are unlucky.

So there are now an increasing number of threads on the oneplus forum for international customers getting their invites.
Alas these invites are not shareable despite the good intentions of some members.
Anyone here get have any luck?

Would love an invite. Probably just gonna end up buying an invite on eBay.
