when i start wm6.exe my htc go to a strange screen red blu greeen with USB word upside,
but for upgrade i need htc connect to activesync.. but if htc stay on that strange screen activesync not work...
i read on some site that i need to upgrade my rom, and radio..is it real?
anybody can help me to find the easy way for upgrade all my cellphone without problem?

You need your BA in bootloader mode to flash WM6 Upgrade.

help, i have just got an ameo and previously had an xda exec, which i unlocked,then a Mda pro(universal) and installed wm6 which works great compared to wm5, i have tried using olipro unlocker on the ameo... an had an error message at stage 1 flash SPL....TRIED IT TWICE AND the phone is completely dead... doesn't charge or switch on .. i have unlocked and upgraded on two models so i do have a clue.....i should be getting a replacement, but really need to run it on wm6 as i believe it works a lot better as with my Mda pro.
could you pls tell me which is the right toolor a link to unlock and upgrading Ameo (uk) to wm6.There are so many threads i cant tell which tools have been tested and works....Can afford to brick the new one

If you have bricked one device don't try it again. There are issues being worked out with the unlocker.
Second, there is a ROM you can use for your Ameo that should install without being unlocked and based on WM6. It's on the forum somewhere. I don't remember where it was posted so you'll have to search.
Let us know how it goes....remember you don't need to unlock if you find the right ROM...the WM6 ROM for an Ameo/Tmobile device.

On my third Ameo running wm6 pro.olipro unlocker v2 should do the job i heard but intsalled the rom which run on t-mobile ameo. Dont know what the difference with the black touch version is ... i cant complain ..well for the moment . Thanks again People!!!!!
The T-Mob ROM works without unlocking but Olipro V2 worked fine on my UK Ameo which allowed me to install Black Touch which, thanks to PK and the team, is far better.

Newbie here. I own two smartflips bought from i-mate hq (Dubai). However, i'm now in Aus. WM6 looks nice and i must say, great work and appreciation for those who cook up these ROMs. However, i noticed that all these ROMs start off from either Cingular or QTEK or HTC. why leave i-mate ROMs behind guys? Anyways, before i try out any of these ROMs, i just don't want to end up killing my phone. I've searched high and low for i-mate stock ROMs (WM5). I saw one in a post but that was like WWE or something which i'm not sure what it means. I don't want to register on i-mate and do loads of form-filling and IMEI filling just to get some ROMs. Anyone have any idea of where i can acquire some 'stock' WM5 i-mate ROMs (not qtek or cingular or htc or wotever).
The other thing.. i haven't SuperCID-ed my smartflip. I tried to get to the bootloader (for no reason.. just experimenting) by pressing the keys n all but it doesn't show up. it goes to the i-mate screen.. then flashes an HTC logo and boots WM5. Once again my smartflip is Out-of-the box, hope that helps someone explaining the phenomena. i do have the i-mate CD that came with it. However didn't find and option to install Windows Mobile 5.0. I need a ROM to keep a backup in case i screw up. If anyone could help me obtain an i-mate WM5 ROM, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, how would one find out the IPL and SPL of the smartflip? As i mentioned i wouldn't like to brick my phone. It is mentioned somewhere that the 3.06 or wotever IPL and SPL version are not capable of flashing through micro-sd card. Not sure but i think the 4.0 or wotever can flash through micro-sd card. Apart from the link(to files) posted in a thread, isn't there an 'official' way of getting to update the IPL and SPL?
Sorry for such a long post. One thing i must say, great work guys. I would like to suggest people to follow up on their threads. there was one 'bricked' post but the person said he found a solution but never posted what his solution was. It would be helpful if he could have posted the solution as it does help others. Apologies if i said anything wrong.

You used to be able topick up Imate roms from ftp://ftp.clubimate.com
But they won't be nearly as good as the cooked Wm6 ones. Just follow the instruction and flash away.
(WWE means worldwide english)
Flash one of the cooked ones! I use Erofich's 6.1 and it's great.
WWE just means WorldWideEnglish as opposed to other languages.

I have a SmartFlip upgraded with GnatGoSplat's WM6 ROM (Eurofich' WM6 is better but GPRS doesn't work): it works fast and without problems.

Thank you all for your responses. i-mate roms at imate ftp site is confirmed. Thanks unwired. The thing is i take calculated risks and have most info before i do some thing. so if i end up somehow bricking my phone, i will know what to do before dad kills me . Now i just need to update the IPL/SPL and get into bootloader to see if it works. Then gonna flash with WM6 or WM6.1. I just needed a stock ROM to keep as backup because its mentioned somewhere that if your phone is bricked, u can try to flash it using micro-sd card flashing. but that only works with stock ROMs if WM6 flashing fails. Anyways, thanks once again. i will keep you guys updated on my progress.. Thanks!

I Try WM6.1 but it gives me problems importing old sms (the inbox elements are stocked in send items)... i must import old sms ^^'
Jony_aa with Neo is very nice but the home isn't so custumizable: so i flash Gnat's ROM.

Sorry for multiple questions. I still haven't been able to get into the bootloader by pressing the voice notes and camera and power on key. I'm still not sure how it goes. Do you have to hold the keys, press the power button and let go immediately of all the three keys or do you have to hold the power button for long with holding the voice and camera keys? i need to check which version of the bootloader i have to make sure it supports flashing from micro-sd. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I was also looking for some way to backup software from my current WM5 ROM. There are some apps that come in-built which i like. But since i don't have the .cab(s) i was wondering if there would be a way to backup software and later on install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Out of a million tries, I only managed to get into the bootloader ONCE that way. Okay, I exaggerate, but I found it almost impossible to use RECORD, CAMERA, and POWER to get into bootloader. Instead, I've found with the phone OFF, press RECORD, CAMERA, and plug the USB connector into the PC while holding those buttons. It goes into Bootloader every single time that way.
You can back up the built-in apps, but it requires figuring out which files belong to which app, and also getting their registry entries. Then you can either manually copy all those files into the phone and manually import the registry entries, or make them into a cab file to automate it.

Yup! Worked like a charm! i have IPL/SPL 1.02 or wotever.. so i don't need to worry about micro-sd card flashing problems ( i hope i never need to use that in my life). So if it works this way.. i would recommend others who have bricked their phones and trying to flash it holding the record, and camera button while phone is off, plug it in the usb. As soon as i did that, Vista picked it up as a mobile device. the bootloader ( the screen sucks! what a dreadful combination of colors!) also shows a usb sign at the bottom. I hope this info helps those who bricked/killed their phone and were finding it hard to re-flash it. As it is mentioned in some thread... if wm6 flashing fails, u have to revert back to stock rom WM5 (cingular rom for cingular phone, i-mate rom for i-mate, etc) and then re-flash with WM6. I wonder if rom update utilities work when in bootloader connected to pc.

I did check over onto the i-mate site and found a file 'Arabic...' something. it didn't mention it as a rom so i'm hoping they are the software packages that come with the default middleast rom. You might have heard of 'Portableapps' on PCs. They are little beauties. Because the original windows and windows mobile are linked closely.. i might wonder if there could be a way to port those ( or even create your own) onto windows mobile. I know how to make portableapps so if you need any info, i think i could help unless someone knows better.

Thanks for the file Erofich. Unfortunately, I've just been caught up with studies and hence will not be able to work on modding my i-mate until i get some free time. however, i'm still going to try to work on an 'Ultimate WM6 for Startrek Guide'.
Its just that its better for end-users because some of the information is scattered around and 'some' of the instructions are a bit hard to follow (no offense to anyone). If anyone has any concerns or is against my actions, please let me know.

You can translate some menu (in the post of WM6 by Eurofich you find how) but not all of them.
You can get the xT9 with spanish language with a cab you can find looking in that ROOM.

2. second link is specially for imate smartflip then i don't now what's your problem ( maybe don't install your new rom correctly )

today i upgraded to a new wm6.1 Rom for HTC P3400 which was posted in gene forum here at XDA Developers , after successful upgrade my phone restarted n got stuck at bootloader.
i hv tried almost every solution avaible at Forum XDA developers, but still same condition.
i hv hard reset it several times, also gave unsuccessful try to Mtty , and gene unbreak.
please someone tell me how to unbreak my device, becuz i hv gone through almost every solution, but nothing working.
ther is solution for newer genes in "Gene Forum" but tht also not workin on my old gene.
and please tell me that can i send it to HTC india, as it is still under warrenty.
i m afraid that they wont repair it as i was using custom wm 6.1 roms
so please somebody help me out. i m really in grt tension....

but its not P3400i, its was having WM5 by default
even hving HT8XX serial i was successfully using all the ROMs Including fusion, PDAViet etc etc, ther was no problem
but problem started when i upgraded my phone to WM6.1 Stock ROM

so my phone is also HT8XX, thn i gave it a try, upgrade was successful,

Just flash it with WM6 Original ROM (India) guys, I don't see much improvements in WM6.1, and your SPL is original. Do it in the BootLoader Screen, and flash it via RUU.

hey i tried upgrading to original wm6 but it always shows error at 2%, "Invalid Vendor ID" n my phone gets restart.
Budyy i have said on that page that i had only tested it on my P3400i and its working great till date. HTC has created such a mess with all these 3 versions. I think the mystry is now solved, and Those with the older gene with WM5 ROM but Serial No HT8xx can install the WM6.1 stock (look-a-like) ROM only if ONBL version greater than or equal to 1.10.000.
I'll update the info in WM 6.1 Stock ROM thread too. That ROM is not provided by me, i just copied it and mirrored it from 4PDA.ru so cant tell you much.

Can you give me the screen shot where you stuck?
I know u provided all necessary Info ,but pls it may help me out.
Take a snap of your phone screen with another phone and upload it.
I flashed that rom that u have flashed (WM6.1 stock rom mirrored by crazy_about_tech.) and mine also stuck in boot loader,
but immediately just flash back Fusion 9 and my phone alive again.
Please don't blame anyone for anything.
Here, all are together for helping each other and sharing their PDA experiences not making anyone's phone DEAD.

i hv already given this a try.....but ended up getting error all the time.....
i tried Mtty i dont know how many times but in last the error comes
and one more thing.....tht unbrick solution is for P3400i and newer GENEs (HT 8XX), even my phone's serial no starts frm HT8XXX, although it is old version.....ONPL is 1.07.0.0 ...
while in newer genes it is 1.10.0.0 n more
so this solution wont apply on mine...
BUT Still i gave it a try.......not workin for me...

Oh ,earlier you were using wm 6.1 by PhamQuang ,that's why your splash screen changed but this is not a big issue,Once your phone alive again this can be solved in minutes,
Try this(I don't know you tried it or not)
plug ur phone to PC and reset ur phone keeping the camera and the power button pressed.
If you see the tricolor screen with a Text USB in left bottom corner of your phone, leave the buttons or try again ,Once tricolor screen appears then only you can flash your original Wm5 (24 march 2007.exe) because your SPL is original till now.

Yes sir.....i hv already tried it......
i did the same........enter in bootloader..the tricolor screen....atteched to USB....in phone it was also showing the text USB in left corner..
than i tried to flash original WM5 rom (24 march 2007) ......but alas.....the same problem......error at 2% sayin "Invalid Vendor ID"

Your Splash screen also may made ur phone's warranty void.This is a big problem.let me think for a day.

Finally Gene is alive......thanks to HTC service centre..
Finally i gave my phone to HTC service centre...and...ther made my gene alive once again...
Now m very happy now...!!!
i would like to thank every XDA forum member for helping me out and givin me response.
i mistakenly flashed wm6.1 stock rom which was for HTC P3400i and newer P3400, so my phone got stuck at bootloader.
i tried almost each n every solution avaible here at XDA forum , but nothing helped me out.
as each time it was showing me error in flashing back to original ROM.
finally i gave up and decided to give my phone to HTC service centre since it was under warrenty...
so...now my phone is OK....it has original wm5 once again.,,,
and i will flash to Fusion 9.0 rom tonight.....
