Losing SMS after Softreset - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

Hi,
I installed different WM6 versions on the weekend. I also tried the new way out (HardSPL). It was a little adventure to install it – but finally I did it and I was able to install all new ROMs.
But I’ve got a new problem. I am loosing all SMS after a softreset (sent and received messages). My call history or my e-mails are still there. I installed several ROMs, but it is always the same. There is still no different between wm5 and wm6. After a softreset, every SMS is lost.
1. Does anybody have an idea to fix that problem?
2. May the problem has an other reason than installing new roms?
3. Please Excuse my English
Sebastian

hihi
1. which rom you are using?
2. looking straight to that thread, bugs are always debugged in the same thread.
3. advise you that there are many sms backup cabs, please choose one for your convinience,
4. and you may try the maillAccountrepair.exe , to see if your messages are recoverable or not.
Good Luck.
There are many senior members here that are always ready to assist, please be more
specific in explaining your situations.
Enjoy this forum.

Thx for answer
1 & 2: It happens on every Rom I tried. Coffie Rom, Shadow TE & VE, Touch_X. It also happen with the original wm5 rom.
3: Do I really need a backup program for my sms when I want to switch of the Prophet for the night???
4. Actually, my mail account has no problems. All mails are still in there folder after restart. I will try this program tonight.
Bye

Please don't mind that here comes more words,
1. before soft-reset, try to close " Messaging " properly ( it may still running at the background) , just to confirm itself to save its settings.,
2. I am currently using the Shadow, 100% nothing wrong with the SMS messages,
Good luck and enjoy... ^_^
3. if you want to "remind" the system to save its settings, just simply do a system setting
like backlight or what so ever.
4. Please try not to use the bottom pit to make reset with stylus, as it sometimes erase you recent settings.. ( use WkTASK to reboot is not a bad choice )
Good luck.

Its wierd that you expirence this with the original WM5 rom.. Allthough i have some similar problem.. Iam now using WM5 again, due to my PDA needs to 100% stable for the time beeing..
I got a few new sms' and then the PDA hang so i couldn't turn it out from standby.. when i soft resettet the new sms' where gone.
But you loose all your sms' right? not only newly recieved but all?

I tried a bit with other roms and got some funny results.
I’ve installed coffie ger again. When I now switch of the ppc by pressing the power butten, all message a still save. After switch on, every message is where they have to by.
If I made an softreset by using the stylus, I will lose all SMS that I’ve got or created after my last “shutdown”.
By the way, I executed the HardSPL. 2.G4.4PDA was written on the bootscreen. After installing the original wm5 the SPL changed to 2.15.0001. So I installed the coffie rom via softSPL. But another question is - is it so easy to change back to the original SPL?
Thx a lot

You did that by installing the WM5 ROM. If you mean the SPL you had before you changed it with hardSPL: that one is gone, it is overwritten. But if you find an official (WM5) ROM with the same SPL version, just flash that one.
If you mean that you want the original SPL back after using SoftSPL, it is there all time. SoftSPL is a one-time-only bypass, it doesn't change anything permanently.

02 XDA2 correct country code upgrade 1.72WWE

my first post and contribution.. hopefully it would be alot of help to other people..
this is the official IMATE 1.72 ROM...except that it was encoded to work with O2 XDA2 units
added the O2 splash screen to retain the O2 bootup image -just load O2.cab into your XDA2
the upgrade utility shouldnt show you any more country ID error for O2 XDA2 units.. if there are problems.. holler me ASAP!!
feedbacks would be nice, coz i would like to make upgrades for other Network providers as well..
Thanks for that.
Can you show me a step by step guide on how to upgrade O2 xda 2 1.60.WWE version to this?
Thanks again.
ok... im not an expert yet, coz i just had my XDA2 for a week, but i do enjoy tweaking and playing with it.. besides, the knowledge i gain thru reading this forum is more than enough..
ok.. here goes..
1. create a full BACKUP your XDA2.. (but i dunno if this is helpful should you fail to upgrade your ROM)
2. download the above file and extract it.
3. you should see it extract 7 files.
4. put your xda2 in the cradle connected to the PC
5. run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
6. wait around 30-60 mins. then follow the procedure as shown on your computer. (a hard reset would be required)
7. after the upgrade is done, you should see the IMATE screen upon booting up (instead of the O2 bubble screen) if you wanne be extra sure, check your XDA2 version.if everything is ok, then you should have upgraded it correctly
8. if you want to revert to the old O2 splash screen during bootup, then copy O2.cab to your XDA2 and run it there. Do a soft reset, and voila, it should be back to the old O2 bootscreen.
I suggest that you contact your NETWORK PROVIDER because you will need to manually configure GPRS, MMS, and INTERNET settings on your xda2 after doing the upgrade.
WARNING: i wont be held responsible or liable for failed upgrade of your unit. Please understand that by agreeing to upgrade your XDA2, you are taking full responsibility of whatever untoward incidents that may occur to your XDA2. Flashing the rom might lead to DATA LOSS, SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, and even DEVICE MALFUNCTION.
but.. the rewards of upgrading it is sweet!
Many thanks for all of these description.
BTW, how do you feel the upgrade?
What you really get from this?
Can you share with us?
Thanks again.
Cheers mate.
i dunno, im just a week old newbie in using XDA2
i just enjoy tweaking the XDA..so far, no problems here.
My xda2 currently is 1.66wwe. after upgrade to 1.72wwe, what's the different between it? anything increase? sorry because i'm a new bird
did a lil research.. so far, came to this...
The 1.72 ROM eliminates the majority of problems from the 1.66 ROM such as:
Increased battery drain
Device slows down
Bluetooth GPS devices don't work, even with Pocket Bluetooth Tools
Can it be downgraded back to O2 xda2 1.60WWE Rom?
Many thanks.
i doubt that it can be downgraded... i havent personally tried to downgrade my ROM to a lower version.. but there are other threads related to this, and they claim that when they tried downgrading their ROMS, their XDA2 died....
you can try searching for other topics if there are information about downgrading... .so far, i dont have any problems with my 1.72 ROM...
except that there is no running program application which enables me to switch off any running program in the background.. but i easily remedied it by downloading TASKMANAGER.... its quite the same with running programs...other than that, so far, so good.
Error 121 Language ID Error
Hi,
after running HimaUpgradeUt.exe I get the message:
Error 121 Language ID Error (N-2-1-0-1), the ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your Pocket PC.
I ran ERedit2003 Version 1.2.20 and opened the file ms_.nbf using the password 0x20040305. I saved the file with the different language settings WWE, ENG and GER. Always the problem remains the same.
My XDA2 currently has ROM 1.66.01GER.
Thanks for help.
try to change the operator name , too! or use other hymalaya upgrade files, from other roms!

Hi,
Thanks. But now I get the message:
Error 120 Language ID Error ( N-1-8-1-8 ), the ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your Pocket PC. I tried with settings O2 WWE, O2 GER and O2 ENG.
When specifying CDL instead of O2 the error code changes to Error 120 Language ID Error ( N-1-8-8-8 ).
So the problem remains the same

Help for beginners: upgrading O2 Xda II to ROM 1.72
New to Forum-sorry to be slow on the uptake. I am trying to undersand how to upgrade O2 Xda II (ExROM 160.50) to ROM 1.72 without losing the machine. Waxx says you need to reconfigure the ISP settings (I assume because they are lost in the upgrade). I cannot find O2 settings for GPRS Interenet and MMS on the net. Talking to O2 is a waste of time.
Does anyone have a step by step description that results in ROM 1.72/Radio 1.18 (or lower if 1.18 still in beta) working on O2 Xda II?
Has anyone reported doing it sucessfully. Have non recoverable failures been reported?
RamyG
Just copy the attached CAB file across to say, My Documents on your XDA, and run it via FileManager.
It will customise your O2 XDA II with all the correct settings.
Once it has done that (and you've tested it works), just uninstall the O2 Active bit and your settings will remain (well they did on mine)
BTW - I upgraded to the new ROM, and have had no problems at all ! Very sweet
Mark
Thnx Mark, just to make sure before I jump in: the steps are:
(1) upgrade to 1.72 using Waxx's attachement (is that the file you used?) (2) follow the procedure you described and I will get O2 customised Xda II (same as where I started) but with ROM1.72 and later Radio Stack. Right?
2 questions:
(a) are the GPRS setting for MOBILE WEB (post paid)
(b) what benefits should I expect from the upgrade? (other than the satisfaction that it succeeded, l if it works?
thnx
RamyG
Yep I used the attachment from Waxx ...
The procedure you mentioned is correct ... I did have a few heart stopping moments after the upgrade because (like you) I couldn't find the necessary settings for GPRS etc .. but the O2 cab file re-installs everything back to what it should be for the UK.
You are prompted to choose relevant settings - in this case you get a choice from either post-paid (MobileWeb) or PrePay ...
As for benefits, people are reporting better bluetooth support, and better battery life. Only upgraded mine yesterday, so can't comment on either yet !

Has anyone else had problems charging overnight with the ROM version?
Got Error 120: Country ID error N-8-1-1-1
Hi all,
I am new member here. I did upgrade to ROM 1.72WWE and seems working fine. Because the PDA is idle, I try to roll back to ROM 1.60.44 eng. and got the country id error N-8-1-1-1. I tried to set the regional to English (UK) and English (US) but failed. Any comment? My XDAII is bought from Asia-HK. Thanks a lot.
Chris
Mark thnx for your help. For all those undecided souls I can report that Waxx's ROM 172 upgrade works fine for O2 Xda II. (BTW: it takes 3 times as long to upgrade as they say it does - it's 30 min for each of ROM ExROM and Radio modules).
Mark, O2.cab did not work as exepcted for some reason. When I ran it, it simple created a text file with O2 network config info and did not actually configure the Xda II. The info was correct and a manual config worked first time. Puzzled, I ran the O2 cab again but from another directory. This time I got the O2 spiral (I may have gotten the network configed again I can't know as I had previously configured it manually . The upgrade did lose the O2 dialer screen and reverted to the iMATE one. This is trivial. the Net is full of free attractive skins. e.g http://sourceforge.net/projects/pocketpc-apps/
Mark Peters- I thank you again.

WM6 Upgrade Guide

How to upgrade from WM5 TO WM6
To upgrade your prophet to WM6 I recommend that you first of all downgrade to the NVID version of WM5 AKU2.2 and get the latest Active Sync:
1. Download the NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 rom for WM5 here :http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe YOU CAN USE Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp INSTEAD OF NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 ROM...
2. After it has been downloaded get the latest Active Sync from Microsoft.com
3. Install active sync, you might need to reboot
4. When your computer has rebooted, run the file from step No 1 . Follow the steps, remember that it can take some time and seem to stuck at 80% and higher, but just wait.
5. When you have done this, your pda will reboot. After it comes with the welcome to windows mobile screen,"Tap Here To Begin",JUST LEAVE IT. In fact don't touch your device before the next steps are finished.
6. Now download one of the WM6 versions( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1279985&postcount=1 )
7. Now find a file named Upgrade.bat, and run it.(you don't have to run Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp,as you have already downgraded to AKU2.2)
8. Wait until the upgrade finishes(usually takes 12-15minutes)..WAIT WAIT WAIT
9. A message will be displayed in the dos box,and it will say that the upgrade is finished etc....etc...,now you HAVE to HARD RESET,to finish the upgrade and enjoy you new WM6!
How to downgrade from WM6 TO WM5
The downgrade process from WM6 to WM5 is pretty simple. All you have to do is to downgrade to WM5 NVID and after that upgrade to the WM5 you want:
1. Download the NVID(no vendor) AKU 2.2 rom for WM5 here :http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exeYOU CAN USE Step1 of PdaMobiz or PDAViet Temp INSTEAD OF NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 ROM...
2. After it has been downloaded get the latest Active Sync from Microsoft.com.. Simply search for "Active Sync"
3. Install active sync, you might need to reboot
4. When your PC is ready run the NVID file you downloaded in step1 and follow the guide, remember that it can take some time and seem to stuck at 80% and higher, but just wait
5. When its done downgrading to the NVID WM5 rom, you prophet will reset and you can upgrade to the version of WM5 you want.
NOTICE
If you use a different AKU 2.2 ROM(like PDAViet Temp),you may have two EXEs in the folder you extracted.Be careful and use the one that is made for your device:
FILENAME G3.EXE
is for G3 devices:IPL x.xx.0000, SPL x.xx.000.0 (this is shown when you reset)
FILENAME G4.EXE
is for G4 devices:IPL x.xx.0001, SPL x.xx.000.1 (this is shown when you reset)
RECOVERING FROM ERROR IN STEP 8 WM5->WM6
1. Don't panic
2. Don't panic
3. Unplug the phone
4. Reset with stylus, and keep the Camera Button pressed.
5. A 3 color screen will appear(Bootloader Screen)
6. Connect your device with your PC,and run the NVID(no vendor) WM5 rom.
7. The device will be resetted after RUU(rom update utility)finishes
8. Repeat the WM6 upgrade,from STEP 5..
How to switch or upgrade/downgrade between WM6 versions(for example PDAViet->Trueneytral)
1. First you have to downgrade to WM5 AKU2.2 using the WM6->WM5 guide(some say that you don't have to do that, but i believe that it's better to downgrade first rather than making a simple overwrite)
2. Now follow STEP 5 of the WM5->WM6 guide
Device doesn't connect to PC after flash
If your device doesn't connect to your PC after flash, just enter bootloader(press camera button+while pressing soft reset and hold, until a tri-color screen shows up),and flash the NoVendor WM5 Rom: http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe .Then repeat the whole process...
----------------------------------------------------------
KEEP IN MIND:
UPGRADING CAN BE DANGEROUS,YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE
DO NOT RESTORE BACKUPS FROM ANY ROM OTHER THAN THE ONE IT WAS CREATED ON
THERE IS NO "BEST WM6 ROM",THE BEST IS THE ONE THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU
(part of the guide is taken from Da9L's guide,in the WM6 Rom Collection)
I will edit/update this post soon and clean it up, ask questions in another thread, and by god please read the wiki first, 90% of the questions asked are answered in the wiki....

Huge Problem!!
Ok guys I am having a huge problem. I tried to upgrade to WM6 but when running the RUU and changing the rom, it encountered an error saying the nbf file cannot be installed on my pda phone and now my phone is stuck(i think permanantly) on the bootloader screen.
No matter what I do to try to fix this, IE: restart device, power down by removing battery, try to run the RUU again, nothing helps. Its is really stuck and I really need this cell phone.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

Put you pda on bootloader mod... and try any of this rom's i have managed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316062
Stay cool!
I followed the instructions carefully, and my phone (Qtek S200) seemed to boot with WM6.0
However, after aligning screen, it tried to initialize the phone with some extended roms, a procedure which failed, and I had to soft reset.
After reboot, it seems to work fine.
Is it?
EDIT: Another thing I noticed is that keyboard is in THAI !!! How can I make US the default? Olso, I have Resco keyboard GR edition. Will this work with WM6?

Choice of ROM
Hello guys, tanks for a so nice job !
I would like to have more information about the choice of ROM.
I don't want any special feature, just the row wm6.
no programs added, no tweaky today, no bugs, no battery problem, etc etc
which one would fit that the best ?
thanks
Thnx for this man, much appreciated!

HI,
Maybe you could check your sms setting from your operator.
Or, you can do this;
(Settings)->(Phone)->(Services)->(Voice mail and Text Messages)->Press Get Settings.
That's it.
Try it and report back.

Hey mate...
Recently, i got the same problem (also post a new thread here) with the black pro and LVSW version...
After investigate, i found the it is the problem of o2 SMS plus, this software totally conflict with wm6 right the moment.
For your case, i suggest you try to hardreset your device first.
Don't install any software, test it for a few days to see any problem occur again.
If no, try to install software one by one and test it again.
Good luck

Hi again,
I am not sure abut this ROM thing because I use Dutty's v2 ROM and stay with it.
Maybe Netmon's suggestion could be used for you.
If you haven't install anything yet in your PDA yet after a hard reset, you could try these few tests;
a) send sms to your friends
b) ask them to reply your sms
c) send sms to yourself
d) leave the machine up and running for more than 1 hour ( charge it ).
e) repeat the same test (a,b & c) above and see the result.
f) if OK, then your third party software could be the culprit.
Mind telling us what did you install? (for us to indentify and/or see if the problem persist if we install the same as yours)

Hi again,
Yess, hard reset=format and when we upgrade our ROM, the machine will be hard-reset too.
The above softwares are add-ons installed after the format right?
Just for a test and for a few days, if you could live with it, do not install anything besides restoring your contacts after the ROM upgrade or downgrade. During the period, test your sms capability and observe any peculiar things with it.
Shall you want to extend your test and to comform your believe that it is due to ROM's issue, kindly revert to your Dopod's WM5 ROM which is downloadable in Dopod website. Then do the same test for the sms.
Shall it be OK then it could be the ROM and if not, it might be something else.
Like myself, I don't have the software as listed by you above installed in my machine and I am using Dopod 838 pro too. I don't have any problem with sms so far
Hopefully you can carry on with the test while I try to see if the problem happens to me if I install the above software like you. Give me a few days for the result.

Yess, hard reset=format and when we upgrade our ROM, the machine will be hard-reset too.

HI again,
Glad that you manage to get it work under WM5.
Well, not much could be done with the "Program Files" folder in your SD card. You can keep it if you want but make a clean format of the SD cards is highly advisable.
Do not install anything that has interaction with today screen inside the SD card. Always install in memory.
Regarding my test as I said in my previous post, I only install the prog which concerns SMS and no problem so far. (install in memory)
I even go the extend of installing "SMS Scheduler" and Vijay's "Flash SMS", and the result is OK, no problem so far.
Thus, I uninstall O2sms+, Group sms etc which I don't use and back to my old PDA state. No problem too. So, it could be the ROM or the Radio ROM.
By the way, I am using 1.43 Radio ROM.
Regards,
morisa
right now im trying Schaps WM6 3.30.. i deleted everything in my SD card.. didnt installed any apps yet.. all default.. ill keep you posted.. i hope this time it would be all good..
I downgraded my radio from from 1.43.00.00 to 1.38.00.10. It seems like my problem is gone now. Haven't had a text messaging issue in the past 36 hours. Hopefully it stays that way.
wasup people!
after upgrading to Schap's WM6 3.30c.. SMS send/receive is working good (its been 10hrs and no further problems) im using SPL 2.10 Olipro and my Radio is 1.41
the only application i installed since the upgrade is GroupSMS.
i hope there would be no problems..
im now using Schap's WM6 3.30c and everything is going fine.. no more problems so far.. i just format my SD card and everything and installed the new ROM.. i guess when i was upgrading there is a tick box that i should select which says "its hard SPL?" which i didn't select.. and probably that cause the problem.. tho im not sure about it..
link / cab
could someone provide a link or cab for the o2sms plus app you are using on your wm6 roms? at least the version.
UGH
I got the same problem here... this only started happening when I upgraded to Schaps latest rom (4.0 rc). I'm getting concerned that there doesn't appear to be a true or known fix for this problem

v. 000.5b WM6 Essentials ROM for Charmer (8.11.2007 - DISCONTINUED)

WM6 Essentials project DISCONTINUED due to lack of patience with idiots
ROM you have been waiting for. Clean, stable and fast.
This ROM was the reason for ending my previous project with Vlodeck. I started to make it few weaks ago, the day I notticed that clean WM6 has leaked MS labs. I grabbed it and started cooking, throwing all previous progress away. And now, I do not regret.
ROM you have here is the most clean thing you have seen on Charmer. I hope it's also the fastest and the most stable one. All packages that were added to privode aditional functions as camera, mms and others were doublechecked for unnecessary files and registry entries before they were gently inserted inside, tuned and approved.
I tried to remove all possible bugs, but there are few of them that I wasn't able to solve yet:
v. 000.5b WM6 Essentials known bugs
- for the first time after startup, it's sometimes impossible to activate HTC Black theme correctly, switch to Windows Mobile Green, then HTC Black applies correctly (probably tsk file issue)
- power patch correct application is still necessary
- system does not remember word completition set by user - it remembers default settings after reset (defaultly switched off)

Use it only on unlocked devices and if you know what are you doing. Flashing this is easy, but it cannot be done from bootloader. No more comments needed...

Unlock your device, you will avoid problems with flashing and it makes flashing much safer and easier
Unlocking your device brings more comfort and safety. You will never more need to download aditional files - files I'm providing will be enough. It's also almost impossible to totally brick unlocked device - there's allways a way back (if bootloader is not damaged, of course). Locked devices has problems with some common recovery procedures like SD card image flash. If you have locked device, you have a great chance to spend your money to a service company for such simple thing like unlocking is...do it yourself NOW.
Here is the working guide:
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=437&PN=1
Excellent flashing guide for czech users is available here: http://mda.force17.net, made by Trash. Czech translation of unlocking procedure is here: http://www.ce4you.cz/forums/view_topic.asp?t=24991
This ROM is provided AS IS, with no warranties from me, xda-developers server or other parties. Use it at your own risk. Use it only if you know what are you doing.
If you do not like it, don't use it. Use another one, freely modify this one, do anything you want - but do not bother me with stupid begging like "can you add total commander in this rom" - I can, but I will never do it. The same with HTC X-button, backup apps and other useless but popular junk.
Post non-technical suggestions and ideas here:

Let's keep this thread clean with the stuff that's only technically relevant.
PROBLEMS
If somebody has problem others never seen, he:
1) uses some 3rd party software. if I'm asking for this, report ALL 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE, not just one you thing has something to do with error. report all
2) his obscure extrom was executed and some untested cabs, often for other systems, were installed. PREVENT EXTROM EXECUTION even if you think it's harmless.
3) he is using smoe uncommon accessories (gps, handsfree, a2dp.....). Report this
4) his device is damaged. throw it away.
We, charmer owners, are in a big advantage: all devices are the same. No MB revisions, no G3/4 problems.
Common debug procedures if you have an error:
1) try to look if others has the same issue.
2) if not, hardreset device and try if error is still present BEFORE YOU INSTALL ANY OTHER APP
3) if this issue seems to be application sdpecific, install JUST THIS ONE APP and try it. be sure you are installing latest build of your app
4) flash latest official ROM and try your app
5) flash WM6 ROM again and repeat procedures 1 - 3
Previous steps are leading to discover if this is clear system error or is related to any 3rd party app. You will clearly see if it's ROM or application issue. If it's hardware problem, it's harder to say...
If it's ok after HR or new flash, perform following steps to check:
1) leave all settings as they are in defaults (including local settings, timezone etc)
2) if it's app specific, install this app. if not, skip this step.
3) perform step-by-step check: change one thing you usualy do, softreset device and check behaviour (eg. change timezone, softreset and try)
So you will discover hidden error dependencies. Sometimes you will get really surprised what can cause errors...
Hope this simple guide will help you to analyze your charmer errors and will help me to get rid of strange questions...
Error [222]: Device Not Responding
Hi, first of all, many thanks for your job.
I have a problem as soon as I star.
I run ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe and when trying to connect to my PDA I get the following error message: ERROR [222]: DEVICE NOT RESPONDING.
My Charmer is connect through the USB connection and activesync is connected.
Anyone has any idea on how I can solve this problem (I´ve tried with other USB ports but nothing... :-( )
Thanks in advance for your help.
For activesync troubleshooting, see http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8525/troubleshooting-guide.html
First, hardreset your charmer. During the meantime, reset your computer - do not connect charmer untill your pc is restarted...hope it helps. You may also try to reinstall activesync - or try it from another computer (it's not necessary to setup activesync partnership to perform rom upgrade)
No booting after update !!
Hello,
i have one question :
I had the wm6 rom : ver 004.4 -=- CHARMER WM6 WWE ROM by vlodeck & nocturne installed on my charmer.. worked fine. No Problems. Today i saw that there is this new one "WM6 Essentials". I flashed my charmer with this new rom and flash method 2 (i also used method 2 for the old wm6 rom). Everythink was ok but after hard reset my charmer stuck at the very first splash screen ( This one where the IPL, SPL and OS Number is beeing displayed). The Phone just did not go on. After another hard reset -> same problem.
I then had lots of problems to get my charmer working again... all the old (even official) rom updates didnt work. But at last i downloaded an obviously newer (than mine) AKKU 3.3 from t-mobile site and was able to flash the device with that one. Now the question : Is it possible that it didnt work because i did not downgrade to an official wm5 rom before upgrading to that new wm6 or do you think that i should not give it a new try because it seems to be another problem ?
many thanks for your answer(s)
If you want flash other WM6 and you have WM6 you *MUST* first downgrade to WM5 and finally flash WM6.
The most successful method has always been to install an official wm5 rom before trying another wm6 rom.
pjam
many thanks for your fast answers.
i tryed it again after downgrading to the official wm5 and now it works fine.
After the flash and saying "Congratulation you flashed it" it died. There goes my charmer to waranty again....
WM5

NEW version is out, released 21:22 GMT+1
New ROM version is out...
Hello Mr. Nocturne.op.15. IS IT REALLY WORK ON MY QTEK S100?
No, this ROM is working only on charmer and also on microwave ovens. Put charmer inside oven, turn it on to max power and wait until image download from charmer to oven is completed (this is indicated by battery explosion). Enjoy nice pieces of hardware all around your kitchen, they are WM6 powered.
Wrong
This didn't work on my microwave oven at all. I have a Daewoo microwave oven and it is white. All that happens when I try to flash the rom (on full power) is that there is a strange smell and my Charmer stops working. There are sometimes some sparks.
The microwave now won't get past inital boot loading - there is a big while light and I have a TMobile screen and there are pink squares all over the microwave.
Thanks a lot nocturne and vlodeck - I now have a WM6 microwave but the softbuttons don't work properly and they are very hot to touch. And can I have a German version please?
nocturne.op.15!!!! you bastardo! me charmer no work! it smell not good.
littld: I doubt it, there will be a german translation unless someone from germany wants to do it, go ahead
Isn't it possible to use an original German O2 XDA Orbit WM6 and add the charmer drivers / reg entries to it?
Is there anything else to do?

BIG problems with WM6.1

After i did the hardspl and upgrade to WM6.1 i have 2 serious problems. The first: when the battery is less than 20% and do or accept calls, after some seconds the pda reboot when i speaking. the second: i can send but can't recieve data via bluetooth connection. the beam is activate and the pda discoverable. even pair the device it can't receive anything!!!
ipl 2.20
spl 2.G3.4PDA
rom transform 1.1
Can these problems fix??? If not how to downgrade to the previous spl? I tried with pdaviet but nothing. thank you...
First, Transformer 1.1 isn't a WM6.1 ROM but WM6.0.
Your problems are reported before, but in almost all cases one or two hard resets did the job. If not try another more clean ROM and see if you still have the same trouble.
Remember, the Prophet is a delicate device and very sensitive for all kind of fluctuations during flashing. So don't expect it to be as stable and universal as your desktop PC. If it don't suceed the first time, just do it again...

I have had the same problem with some other versions of WM6, posted here, also I tried to change RadioROMs and come back to WM5 - the result was the same like yours. Then I decided to replace my battery with the new one and it worked!!! Even is told that Li-Ion batteries do not have memory effect, looks like it is other way around...
Try to replace the battery.
i had the very same problem with my battery. just went off at 20%. i have gone back to wm5 for a while now. the problem remained though. therefore i bought a new (not original) battery. but strangely, this one starts showing this behaviour too, although only at 6%.
what the f**k is this??? does it have anything to do with cracking the hard spl???
why do you guys let the battery drain so much? just recharge the battery, don't let it fall that low....
anyway, my 2c.

thanks for your advice! but i have tried also with "shadow my edition 2" by varavusvincent and "shadow 2.0 ce" by cloudyfa which are wm6.1 roms. no results!!! the roms are stable, i think the problem isn't on this. i think something go wrong with the spl. i have done hard reset again and again but the same problem. the transformer1.1 is very stable(i worked on it 6 months +) and i hadn't any problem with this rom before. how can i do downgrade to previous spl?
i extracted official spl 2.15.0001 (g4) from the latest o2 update (germany). so if anybody is interested, i can upload it. but it is G4 ONLY.
i reverted to wm5 and spl 2.15 myself having some very, very strange behaviour with my old battery. i tried the procedures suggested by rondol1. now everything SEEMS to be in order. but i have not discharged my battery completely. i will report back what happened.
cheerio.
I don't know in detail what the SPL does alltogether, so I can't confirm if the mentioned problem are (or can be) related to the HardSPL installation. But according to several posted solutions regarding the battery, it seems that there is definitly a relation on that issue.
To install a "normal" SPL, you can flash an original ROM from your vendor, but then everything will be bach to factory default. You can also take advantage of the offer from Chriskay above...
