MDA II Mobile 5 - MDA Compact II ROM Development

Hello friends,
I have a problem concerning the upgrade of my ROM on a MDA II with Mobile 5. When I connect the MDA (is shown as connected in Mobile Device Center) and start the "start_uspl.exe" everything is working fine. But in the next steps, when the ROM should be installed I always get the following issue:
ERROR [260]: Update Error --> But everything is plugged in correctly?
Can you send me a link to a ROM for the MDA II, so that I can install it all correctly without any failures?
Thank you for your support.
Best Regards,
Pepsi the only way I like it.;-)

MDA II >>IS NOT<< Charmer. Try MDA II section of forums.
BTW, talking about Mobile Device Center - read about Vista specific flashing, it's not the same as in XP!!! XP procedures will always fail...

telephon hangs after downgrade to 3.19.03GER

hi all,
yesterday I tried an update to windows mobile 2003 on my t-mobile mda I (a "not for sale - for testing only" version I got from anywhere).
After the upgrade I made some tests and saw, that there are some functions not running in this "test version". So I did a downgrade to 3.19.03GER with no problems. But after this downgrade I wasn´t able to use the telephon in my mda I. All tries to start the telephon or a resync via usb or ird hang up the mda and need a warm start. :?:
The radio version on my mda is 3.23.00.
How can I reactivate the telephon and resync function in my mda? Thanks for all ideas!
Or must I send my mda to t-mobile?
regards
manfred
hi guys,
thank´s for this great side!
I found the original update to windows mobile 2003 on http://www.mathiaspohl.de/mda, put it on my MMC-card with OSImageTool1.5 and into my MDA with the Wallaby Bootloader Menu (very easy).
After this I had the version 4.00.33 GER in my MDA with still no telephony . So I made again the radio update to 3.23.00... nothing. But after some tests in the Wallaby Bootloader Menu (GSM Tools) all works fine.

T-Mobile SDA II - QTek 8200 ROM Update

I'm looking to update my UK T-Mobile SDA II Rom to the QTek 8200 ROM, which I am aware is supposed to be more stable, and crash less (which I find very annoying about the existing T-Mobile Rom).
I cannot find the rom though, and can't download it from the QTek site without the actual QTek phone. Anyone have a copy?

im gonna try it soo aswell
i think the link is in the 4rth or 5th page

Another question - I've downloaded the rom update but before installing it I thought I'd read up a bit and try not to brick my phone. Anyway on to the question, I have searched the spec of the qtek 8200 and it says it has a Texas Instruments OMAP850 195 MHz processor but in the about section on my device it says that mine is a 750 processor - will the rom update still work and not turn my phone into a paperweight?
Thanks in advance
Pete
SPV C550 - T-MOBILE SDA II - QTEK 8200. ---> it's all the same devices
Ok. Thank you again
Questions continue - The rom update utility isn't working on my vista home edition pc, it puts the phone into the tri-colour screen (bootloader?) then stops running. Starting the update utility again does the same thing (stops running). I've extracted the .nbh file with winrar - is there a way to run the rom update from the sd card using this image file?
Thanks again.
Pete
try this
disable USB conection in Active Sync, go to bootloader (camera button and then connect cable with phone and pres Y) run MTTY then write:
info 2
format BINFS
next eneble usb connection, and try install them again. if it still doesn't work, back to original T-Mobile rom or just change old wm2003 to wm6

T-Mobile Updates

Hi,
I have an MDA Compact II ( herm300 ). I am trying to update the software roms etc. Currently the installed versions are:
Rom 1.21.110.3, Rom Date 06/19/06, Radio 1.05.05.00, Protocol 32.36.7010.044
When running the package "RUU_CompactII_2060277_20602110_021921_T-mobileUK_ship.exe" from http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/download_manager_mda_com2.html, I am getting an error [224] device not responding. - The update utility cannot get a response from your PDA phone. ( however the picture of the phone does not look the same as what I have button wise )
I have an active connection with active sync 4.2 ( or later ) on win XP Pro SP2 and can sync contacts etc.
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks
dont know what the issue is, however I upgraded it from the flash card method and all is working fine.
Hermes 300 is T-Mobile Vario 2 NOT MDA Compact 2
you got the wrong file
