[SOLVED]How to add your own sliding sounds on your touch dual [SOLVED] - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

To get sliding sounds working on your touch dual follow these steps:-
Install phm regedit
Install lokmeup slidingsounds
Open regedit and go to HKLM\software\htc\slidingsound
Here you will see entries 0-9 (these are related to each effect and by tapping each one it will show you which sound it makes)
To choose which one you want just edit slidingsound by tapping on activeslidingsound and changing the value to the number that corresponds to the sound you want.
To adjust the volume change the value of slidingsoundeffect (0 being no sound).
You may need to soft reset for the reg changes to stick.
You can also add your own sounds by adding .wav files to windows folder and adding new keys to the registry:-
I've used the sounds in the attached zip for this example. Just substitute the names for your own wavs if necessary for the value data in the in and out strings:-
1) Download lynx.rar and extract files to the windows directory of your device (lynx_in.wav and lynx_out.wav)
2) Open reg editor and got to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\SLIDINGSOUND and add a key and call it 10
3) Add a string and call the value name default and the value data lynx
4 Add a string and call the value name in and the value data lynx_in.wav
5) Add a string and call the value name out and the value data lynx_out.wav
Should look like this:-

5) Now choose number 10 as your ACTIVESLIDING SOUND and SLIDINGSOUNDEFFECT and your device should use the lynx .wav when opening and closing
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT MESSING WITH THE REGISTRY IS A BAD IDEA IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THINGS WILL GET BROKEN

The SlideSound app only triggers on the portrait <-> landscape swith (Screen Rotation) event. But the dual doesn't rotate the screen, so you need an app that actually looks on the slide sensor of the dual specifically.

It beeps when it's slid open and closed so i wonder if the reg entry can be changed to point to a different wav file? (i haven't found it yet though)

Is it the same app as the one posted above or the same as the one on kaiser?
If the same as the one on kaiser and you could create a cab of it that would be cool.

I understand thats why that particular app won't work.
(wanted the kaiser one to add to my cab collection as some cooks don't add it to kaiser roms but no luck finding it).
What i'm trying to find is the reg entry that makes the niki beep when it opens and closes so i can manually change it.
If you're going to be a smart arse best you read a bit yourself.

john, i saw the registry key #7 sliding sound is transformer i just wonder who can make this wav?? example. transform... sound or MEGATRON....

I should probably point out that i only worked out how to do this from reading some very good posts over in the kaiser forum and working out how it applies to the niki without having an app to change which sounds are used.
Here are some .cabs i found which can be used to change the sound to. They were made by xda member (v)ega
It changes the 3rd registry entry under sliding sounds but you can change it back with the lightsaber .cab.
The Marvin Gaye is pretty good seeing as it's valentines day (or the jay z one depending on your situation)
