Upgrade Radio to 1.47.30.10 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

I want to upgrade my Radio from 1.47.00.10 to 1.47.30.10 (i read from wiki this is the best radio). Is there any big differences between those two?
My main question is actually how to upgrade them? . Ive browsing on wiki etc and there is no detail step by step explanations or procedures how to upgrade. Ive downloaded the radio 1.47.30.10 and it only has a file called Radio.nb. Based on wiki, I only need MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to upgrade but how to use it?
Can anyone help me on this one?

search for mrvanx guide.

Here: http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=68&Itemid=27

Thx for the reply.
Ok. In mrvanx's guide, says that it needs RUUWrapper.exe and RUU_signed.nbh to upgrade Radio for Hermes.
And my downloaded file of Radio 1.47.30.10 from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
only has one file, "radio.nb" which is a different file with the explanation from mrvanx.
So what should i do?

You obviously werent downloading the correct file, when you click on the link for the 1.47.30.10 radio which is THIS LINK you get the correct files.

One of the difference between these two radios is that 1.47.00.10 is geared towards the edge data connection. If your rom doesn't have the auto enabling of hsdpa, you would have to enable it I think through the registry to connect to 3g or download an advance config tool. Very fast and solid connections with gsm. I'm using this radio right now to test how it switches from 3g to edge and vice versa.
1.47.30.10 intalls with the "h" radio protocol and has been tested as the best for battery consumption. Look at mrvanx sig and click on "how power hungry..." to read further.

ok. my bad . and thx for deep explanations.

no, the link simply dont work.
i search now for about 3 hrs on this forums, just for an radio upgrade.
its such a clutter on this forums, the search wont work, the links are dead- frustrating (

I just tried 'rockafeller' link above and it works fine! Could be your firewall or security settings...

If the link doesn't work go to the wiki and type in "radio rom hermes". That should take you to just about every radio rom for the hermes... Cheers
Just tried wiki, kept getting "550 failed to change directory"....
Any ideas?

I downloaded this very radio last week directly from the Wiki, however I found this link that lists several radio versions, didn't test it though:
http://www.parkingdenied.com/downloads/Hermes/Radio Roms/
I do have one question, Pedro2K states that 1.47.00 is geared toward plain ol' GSM while 1.47.30 is geared toward 3G. Since my provider doesn't offer 3G (yet) and actually I have the band option set to GSM, would it make any difference having one radio or the other???
TIA

Shipped & Extracted Radio ROM 1.27.00.00

Thanks to the person who uploaded the Shipped radio to XDA-Dev ftp
Radio version 1.27.00.00 is available for the Hermes!
This radio has HTC_BOOT 0107, so it is "safe" to upgrade. We have it in two flavours:
Shipped upgrade (signed NBH file) containing only the radio, valid for:
HERM300 T-Mobile devices with CID starting with "T-MOB1"
SuperCID devices
NOTE: SuperCID (unlocked) devices with HTC_BOOT 0108 (for example SoftBank X01HT post Dec-2nd) must use bootloader SPL-1.09 to flash this radio!
Download: RUU_Hermes_TMD-TMA_Radiopatch_1.27.00.00_107_GER.exe
Extracted upgrade (NBF file) valid for:
Hermes devices with bootloader 1.04 and HTC_BOOT (radio bootloader) version 0107.
Remember:
- screen will show "Upgrade Radio Stack Please wait........."
- after finishing flashing radio (about 15 min) you will see an "Upgrade Error", but the radio ROM will be flashed anyway.
Download:
HERM_1.27.00.00_type2_radio.zip
For more information see the extracted radio wiki page and information about radio ROMs.
As always, upgrade at your own risk!
Enjoy!
waho!! i feel that a new os rom is near!
tanx pof! the Radio on Hermes is now 1.27
Any ideas on what has changed from the Cingular shipped rom?
Legolas
Upgraded. Now to see what is different.
Upgraded and testing now.
Thanks!
Thanks POF. This has improved my reception a bit. Gonna test this in other sports that I had spotty reception and see if this makes it better.
Testing on the new Radio ROM...
Does anyone knows if the Wi-Fi is related somehow to the Radio ROM? My old wizard somehow has a better reception.
I understand this version does not contains the GPS support.
Currently I will wait with that.

I don't believe in official support.
Trinity users also don't get GPS from their providers but can happily use the GPS.

This ROM got a lot of problems regarding GSM Data Calls (like 1.21.31.10 ROM). I switched back to 1.20.31.10.

The probles is this, posted by myself in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291297:
- But THE PROBLEM is that the data calls are broken in this ROM. I used direct Modem connection with my work (we got two 56k Modem waiting for incoming calls). It connects without apparently problems with the modem (maybe it takes more time than the older ROM) but the data interchange is very sloooooooow and suddenly it stops! The data call isn't dropped but it doesn't interchange data after two or three minutes of slooooooow interchange. Finally, if you close the call and tries to reconnect it can't!!!! WM5 says that an unknown error happens and can't be connected!!!!
After a soft reset you can connect again but it remains very sloooooow...
Fortunately I've switched back to the old and stable 1.20.31.10 ROM and everything works normal now (thank God!).

guys, production Radio firmware revision would be 1.28. as per latest Trinity and Cavalier.
1.27 seems to be BETA release.

Telstra AU - UTMS - Radio Version

Hey All,
First of all this is a great site. Just got my Jas Jas a week ago and im in love with this place.
Any way enuf ego inflating.
--------
I thought that i would upgrade the radio version because there were reports that this would improve my UMTS / HSDPA reception.
It didn't here are my results.
1.34.00.10 Download (1st try)
Tried this one first as i thought the latest might have been buggy. Flashed nicly but the reception defaulted to GSM. Only worked on UMTS when i changed the band to 2100 rather than 850. And then the reception was 2 bars compared to the 100% i usually get.
1.27.00.00 Download (2nd try)
Tried this one next as its the reccomneded "stable" version.
Still go the same results.
1.20.31.10 (Orignal Shipped rom)'
Ended up returning to this rom to get functionality and worked no issues.
Was just wondering if any other AU ppl had these issues ?
And what is the chosen ROM of choice in AU.
I am still plucking up the courage to flash to XDA-Live but if i do my radio should not change because the install does not include a radio, correct.
And one last ? if i o upload to XDA-L does the extrom stay the same and will my unit grab all the op settings that are in the EXT Rom or do i have to load then with a cab that i can grab out of the ship rom?
Hope the post wasn't to long,
Thanks
Hi Shaun,
I suggest you have a read through the threads and the Wiki, you'll find most of your answers are in there. XDA Live does not contain a Radio ROM so will not affect that side of things. Personally I recommend putting in your provider settings manually, as that way you know nothing will stuff up due to any funny files in the CAB!
I suggest you try the new radio ROMs again when you're running WM6, perhaps you've got issues with the icons displaying incorrectly depending on your radio version. Personally I'm using 1.35 without issue, and its been better than anything else, but then again I'm not with a provider who prides itself on making its own stupid frequency decisions just to be awkward
Cheers
Kevin

im using the trinity radio 1.35.00.11 with NextG and also Vodafone and the HSDPA reception is awesome...
what ROM version are you using now??
xda-live does not flash the extended ROM... so you can use HTweakC to unlock it and use the cabs.....
I use Blackberry so my device is connected via UMTS on Telstra all the time. I had upgraded to 1.35 radio because of the reports of it's increased reception.
Well the battery drained in about 5 hours so I am reverting back to the original rom which gave me 24-36 hours battery life with UMTS active.

Thanks for the response guys. Ive read the wiki and have taken it in, just wanted to check.
I have now reverted back to the orignal radio rom that was shipped with the unit which is 1.20.31.10. Its a pain i am with telstra but there is nothing you can do when the company has 30od services with them.
Was going to load the trinity mod but does this mean that i need to super CID the device. As i got a country ID. This means i will void the warrenty. Is there a way that i can do it without the super CID.
Err... the Trinity radio version in the Wiki (which I hope you're getting from the Hermes Radio Rom wiki page and not the Trinity page!) is bundled with SSPL which means you don't have to worry about CID.

.. but because the 1.35.00.11 radio only package from the Wiki is already bundled with the modified RUU updater which pushes SSPL to the device automatically, he'll only need to run the ROMUpgradeUt.exe
Edit: Actually with the 1.35.00.11 package, you don't even need to do that - just run the .exe you download from the Wiki and follow the prompts! What could be easier!

Ah, makes sense then .
Shaun, you can either download the modified RUU Updater, or just download the 1.35.00.11 Radio ROM with RUU/SSPL updater integrated.
Thanks guys i thought that that rom was not the trinity one. Then one that i got was from the ftp .
Now i got that one which does have the RUU/SSPL updater integrated.
Thanks guys.
Just flasshed with the 1.35 Rom and it seams that its got Less reception than before. Onlyt by a bar and this in my current location. I have set the abnd to auto and will see how it goes will update ina day or 2.

At the moment, I'm trialing 1.56.70.11 - however I've noticed a few issues when dialing numbers. I'm not sure if it's the Radio version or the Optus network being retarded... I used to use 1.48.00.10 and this worked fine.
Usually takes a month or so to properly test a radio rom though
If you check the Hermes Wiki here there is already an archive of the radios.
Good work nonetheless.

I know this is probably a dumb question but i'm gonna ask it anyway. I am in the uk on 02... is there a particular one i should use... if not.. what is the difference between them all?
I am trying to learn but i find this radio thing very confusing
Radio is to improved your cell network, if u'r using hermes you'll see it in setting > system > device information. if you dont find any trouble in your shiped radio than it ok, but if you think the batteery drains to fast or the signal quality is to low, than may be you should try diffrent radio.
What Radio Rom should i use?
Hi,
I have flashed my rom to CRC's 13.1-pre 7. It works like a dream. I am in Australia and my provider is 3. My current Radio Rom is: 1.47.30.10.
It seems to work all ok but my battery life is average and 3's coverage is average in some areas.
Any recommendations?
Andrew
For some reason the only radio that worked for me is 1.16 I am smack-dab in the middle of the US. All the other radios kept freezing phone in the middle of a phone call, especially when I had my bluetooth headset connected (Jawbone) from 1.27 the the latest. Funny thing is that 1.16 always shows a G instead of an E in taskbar but is connected at edge speed.
Just thought I wuld throw that out there. Using CRC 13.0 Rom. By the way great job CRC for throwin these radio packs together.
Thanks, - Philux-X

Radio Rom for Hermes
Hi CRCin AU,
What have you found to be the best Radio Rom for here in Australia?
Im also from Australia and are wondering what is radio is best, im on the Optus network.
I use 1.56.70.11 and don't seem to have any dramas on the Optus network in Australia. Give it a go and see how it works for you.

Diamond radios can now be flashed to Touch Pro !

Diamond radios can now be flashed to the Raphael.
Ive got 1.00.25.05 flashed right now and its a lot better than any Raphael radio.
I had some problems in the begining but Olipro helped me.
1st you security unlock, here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426609
2nd chose the option "Security Unlock" on you PDA in the last step and press "Commit Changes".
3rd download any Diamond radio (NBH) of choice .
4th you have 2 basic choices to make it flash:
1) extract radio from NBH, rebuild for Raphael (bit long winded but of course words)
2) open the NBH in a hex editor and substitute "DIAM*****" for "RAPH*****" or RAPH10000 or RAPH12000 (depending on whether your SPL screen says 100 or 120) - stick with wildcards first and use the exact values if it continues to complain.
I used this HEX editor : http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Products/home/hex-editor-free.html
Olipro recommends XV132 and its free.
5th now put the edited NBH (radio file) in the same folder as Raphael Custom RUU. Heres a link to the RUU : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410761&highlight=customruu
6th now flash !
And remember all of this information was provided to me by Olipro via e-mail, without me even asking (I was using the unlocker again and again and he noticed so he shot me an e-mail). Im just passing the information further, all credit goes to them !
Keep up the great work everyone !
Hi hope some cheef can convert the diamond radio roms to touch pro to avoid we brick out toys
Can you please explain what exactly is better in the Diamond radio's compared to the Raph radios? IE Battery life, reception, GPS?
And of course this may be a stupid question (well, for sure a stupid question!) but how 'bout US 3G?
Thanks!

OK, well, some will claim performance increases etc etc, the truth is, it's entirely subjective, and the current Raphael Radios are in fact just modified versions of new Diamond ones.

I looked under phone settings and it does not show the US 3G 850MHz frequency. Which this radio (1.00.25.05) supports on the Diamond. Dont know what thats all about........
The reception (phone and data) is better and faster what Ive seen so far. Its 1040 PM here so will test GPS tommorow and need more time to see the differences in battery.
Can you upload modified Radio?
it might not be entirely subjective, it depends on the area where you are. in any case the more choices the better.

the truth is, the raphael radios (both the ATT 1.01 and the "european" 1.02.25.31) support both 850 and 1900 Mhz 3G. it is confirmed because they've been flashed to a Fuze.

Ive deleted the radio I used to flash but I can make a new one if you want. Just tell me.
Edit : Ive just flashed from ROMeOS to DCS (latest) and the 850/1900MHz options are now visible in the settings. But I cant test them since Im in Sweden.
I'm in the US. If you send me one of the Diamond radios I can test it on different ROMs to see if 3G is enabled with the diamond radio.
Ok heres the Diamond radio Im using. Ive edited it to work on the Touch Pro.

well i've just brought the security unlocker and did the hex editing and i confirm that the radio from diamond works. Going to test it the next few days.
thanks for the file. I downloaded it. Do Ihave to use the Hex editor or just flash it directly to my TP?.
update:
I've tried to to the Hex edit but I cannot find any reference as specified on the first post. I might require your help as I'm not an expert. thanks
I've tried both RAPH***** and RAPH10000 as specified in my SPL and during the flashing process I get to 100% but the last page shows "error[226]: Flashwrite... flashwrite error UI535.
I've tried a couple of times with no luck. any clues?
Have you security unlocked ? Theres no need to HEX edit the file ive uploaded Ive already done that.
I think my device has been security unlocked. I was able to flash any rom radion in the past. is that right?. if not. do you have any tool i could use to security unlock it?.
correction: think what i did was to replace the hard-spl. I tried the link in your post #1 but no luck to get the security unlocker. any help?
thanks
You have to donate to be able to get the security unlock. Heres a more direct link : http://raphael.htc-unlocks.com/
good. I've donated and i'm waiting for Olipro to send me the information.
thanks
I installed HardSPL and was able to flash a different radio.
Security unlock just enables you to sim unlock aswell right? I've tried searching the whole of xda & google but can't find a definite answer that convinces me I need to security unlock if I already have HardSPL installed along with the fact that my Touch pro is already Sim Unlocked.
Sorry if this is a silly question...
edit: sorry i should learn to read because moisesz asked the question...sigh...i'm still none the wiser.
Have no problem donating but just need to know whether I need to security unlock.
hard-spl and security unlock is different, this for a fact i know... whats the different? beats me

[RADIO]Raphael Radio Thread - Latest Raphael 1.13.25.55 Radio [27 November 2009]

****MOD EDIT**** DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH ANY RADIO FROM THE FUZE/RAPHAEL/TOUCH PRO/TOUCH HD OR DIAMOND ON ANY OLDER DEVICE SUCH AS THE KASIER/TILT/HERMES/ETC... IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE PERMANENTLY UNLESS YOU OWN & KNOW JTAG.
I take no responsability or will be held liable over anything going wrong, so to make things clear "you flash these ROMs at your own risk!"
A bit of info, for those not familiar with the whole process.
Before flashing any radio to your device,
Please make sure your device has HardSPL by OliNex.
Flashing a new Radio ROM using CustomRUU, doesn't hard reset your device... But, if you are novice at the whole process, I would consider backing up your data anyway, just incase.
The same rules apply flashing a radio as they do a ROM, your device needs to have a battery charged to 50% or over.
Make sure when you flashing radio's, you use the one that works best for you, a radio that performs well for one person may not nescessarily work good for you.
Read the thread first before asking "trouble shooting" questions, they may have been answered already.
----------------------------------------------------- Diamond Radio's --------------------------------------------------------------
It is possible to flash Diamond Radio's, on the Raphael.
Before it's possible to so however, your device needs to be Security Unlocked which, you can get information about here.
The Diamond Radio Thread
Information on editing the Diamond radio to work on your Raphael is here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll say my thanks now to those who make the radio's available, obtaining, extracting etc... and to those who make the tools that allow us to do this.
Last but not least to Jcespi2005 for helping me out with this thread.
Please let me know if there is something you'd like me to include and of course let me know about the radio's and I'll update the thread accordingly.
[Mod Edit2]
If you want to use VOIP on yor device you will need a corresponding Rillphone for your Radio.
You can fin these on this thread:

Thanks to Jcespi2005, KevlarSource, AllTheWay, Nik3r, P1Tater and Captain_Throwback.
thanks for starting the thread
Now I wanna be as tactfull as possible but this information is already available in the wiki pages, and a thread for each radio is again already available. Whats wrong with it as it is??
Remember (having read the sticky threads and the announcement) the wiki is a VERY usefull resource which can be updated by ANYBODY so lets try using that shall we?
Wiki,ok it is handy, altough i also think it is handy to have a radio tread...on the wiki i cannot do a reply of how good or bad a version of a radio is.

Very true, but without prejudice and in my defence, other's will find this usfull as already expressed by members in other threads in the Raph forum regarding the issue. You only have to look at how successful the "Ultimate Radio Thread" over in the Kaiser forum is, a lot of people dont go anywhere near the Wiki and this brings the "One stop shop" right to the front. Also with a thread like this, the opening of other "threads per radio" gets reduced?

Nothing wrong with the wiki but ppl can fins usefull a thread to talk about all radio ROMs and post the self experienceds with all of this so the rest ppl can see what radio can be better... wiki is really good information, but one thread with all radio ROM information to allow ppl ask for anyone compared with anyone can be usefull... i think...
The wiki can be edited by anyone, but is not so dinamic like a thread, and ppl can't ask or share experiences in the wiki...
This can be like the one started by Alltheway in Kaiser forum, just a thread with all Touch Pro radio ROM information.
Cheers

I absolutely agree with jcespi2005. The wiki is great but it is for "hard facts" which apply to everyone. As for radio-roms every radio has its advantages and they also depend largely on your personal phone-provider and your personal settings. So it think the wiki and this thread are both very useful and i wouldn't like to miss any of them.
As for the real purpose of this thread:
I have tested three radios so far: 1.02.25.28, 1.02.25.31 and 1.02.25.32.
For me .32 is the best. It seems to have a better 3g reception and in every other way to be as good as ver .28.

How is GPS for you in .32? Seemed to be worse then in .28 for me... much worse.
Didn't have a chance to test gps yet but hopefully tomorrow I will!

Results may vary on country and provider....
(in other words (iow): update your profile, that could help others answering your questions)

Thats what my question was going to be, .28 is a lot better for me than .19 was (btw im in the UK) and i dont seem to have much of a lag problem with GPS that others experience, incidentley does anyone else that has the TP from Vodafone UK share my "Not too bad" experience with GPS performance with the .28 radio.
Still on .28 here, maybey tomorrow i gonna test out .32 (also test gps with.32),at this moment .28 is much better as .19 (my original radio).
First i have to tweak and install progams again on my pro, just flashed the new RomeOS 1.20

Completely agree! vodafone TP with .28. Might leave .32 for a bit though.
...btw I understand that reception is relative to the version AND local cell provider but...
GPS IS NOT
...GPS reception is not relevant the country, provider or anything such!
if a radio has better GPS reception in Uganda, it probably has better reception in Alaska and Paris too
...and please people if possible when you test a radio and decide it is better or worse, do test GPS too (I know it can be difficult some times - but if you have a stable path to/from work, it's not that hard, you can see differences in a day)

Yes, i agree, GPS is not related to cell provider or country, but the software used to show your map possition and guide trough are related, so perhaps is a good idea to place the GPS software version used to test and map version too. This can help to understand the issue GPS overall for a radio version...
BTW, .32 is slight better than .28 for me using TomTom 7.451 and 7.25 Iberia Map... haven't tested iGo8, but i'll do it later.
Cheers
Well from my experience between the other radio's available at the minute (excluding .32) .28 is by far the best from the tests if done, I've still got my Kaiser and I get both side-by-side and test the new radio's for fix, accuracy etc...
In my job,it involves a lot of driving in the Derbyshire country side in the UK, a lot of winding roads and .28 seem's to be the best, but what i was trying to suggest in my last post, is maybe there's something in the Original Vodafone UK ROM, settings and the like, that maybe the reason why users of the stock vodafone ROM, don't display the same sort of GPS problems, or experince them less, that other users experince?

I think you may already have it, you've made a reconstructed one over on your "How to Reconstruct a Raphael Dumped ROM & Reconstructed ROMs" thread.
I can make a fresh dump if you prefer though.
