I have a problem I hope someone here can help me to solve..
I have an Orange SPV M3100 that hangs on the Windows Mobile screen when I try to start it.
I'm able to go into bootloader mode, and i have tried using mtty142.exe with the set 14 0 command. It still won't boot. I've also tried to hard reset it.. still won't boot..
What I did was trying to unluck the SIM-lock with the Universal unlocker (HTC_Uni_Unlock_v1) from buzz. At the time I thought universal meant that it worked on all HTC devices (stupid, I know)... And I also thought it was harmless to just try and see if it worked. But I got an error around 92-93% and after that my device won't start. So my radio ROM might be screwed.
I'd like to flash my ROM with the i-mate one (JASJAM_WWE_1.20.305.3_1.20.305.104_1.07.03.10_ship.exe) and then add the ext-rom. But how do I do that when I can just access the bootloader screen? And do you think it will boot again if I'm able to flash it?

No your rom *is* screwed. You can get into bootloader, you can even get to 11% of a dopod etc rom upgrade if you try, but you will not flash a new radio.
You CAN boot the device.
Do a hard reset, but do not press spacebar to reboot after. Instead, do a soft reset. The unit should boot but as you've screwed the radio you will not get a gsm signal and the phone will say unknown sim status.
I know this as I bought one cheap after the owner had done exactly the same as you.
IMEI-check's unlock solution is the only one that works IIRC, and in some cases this re-writes the security area of the phone and repairs similar issues, but in this case I could not get the prog to read.
You need to return the device to HTC - you'll need to pay approx £35 for reflashing back to the orange rom. This is what I had to do.
Currently you cannot book the m3100 in through the web as it's too new, instead email / call them.

What happens if you just leave the phone in bootloader mode and then try to flash any ROM (imate, dopod, htc...)? run 2 times the RomUpgradeUt.exe if you get an error on the 1st try.
If you get an error while running the rom upgrade utility you can monitor the USB port while upgrading (you will see the real error from the bootloader then), there's some more info on this wiki page:

No, if you want to send it back under warranty do not try to run a rom update as there are no orange rom packages. As described in my post above, it will get to 11% and stop. The device will be in the same state as before, with the same ext rom, but the splash screen and bootloader will have changed.
i.e: it will be bloomin obvious you tried flashing it and failed. Not what you want if you try for a warranty repair....
There is no error from the bootloader - as there is no radio rom present and no security area the upgrade process just hangs.

That's true, do not try to flash any other roms if you want to use the warranty or send the device back...

As I'm the administrator of these devices in the company I work for I just grabbed a new SPV and will send this thing back to Orange. It sounded like I'm getting a new one..
Well, I think I've learnt my lession.
Oh, and I have another question. Is there a reg editor I can install on this one so I can remove the app lock? I know I can install java apps, but it's a bit grumpy about apps that needs installation (the developer must be certificated).

Sorry to take the thread a bit OT, but just wanted to confirm this again.
So, if I flashed my M3100 with a different ROM, and then had to return the phone to Orange for repair for a different reason, I can send it back to HTC just to have the ROM reflashed, and then send the phone to Orange to get the repairs done?
I've been hesitating on whether to flash the phone with a non-Orange ROM because I didn't want to give up the ability to obtain warranty repair (as there is no ROM upgrade yet). If it's just a matter of £35 and then everything else as normal, maybe it's not so bad...

I have the same problem about spv m3100. I used "universal unlock tool" to unlock my device and now it don't start,don't boot...I tried the Hermes SD Card flashing methods with qtek001 rom and, a white screen with "loading...." appears for 2 second and then nothing else appened. I think that the method is right but I need to use a different software. what do you think about?

My SPV M3100 won't start
SD card method is no good as there is no upgrade from Orange until January.
Tried to do a radio upgrade explained here:

But it didn't work just came up with connection error, tried to monitor USB but nothing showed up to find out why, althouth mtty commands always do show up in USB Monitor.
Still have a brick and looking for a solution, hopefully, someday, please someone help me I am loosing my mind.

I am trying to flah Wizard_MB_1010811_21911 rom on my 8125 but shelltool is sitting on this message "Do not disconnect the Wizard during the process" from last 40 mins. I followed the instructions in shelltool doc step by step.
Phone is unlocked and I am using it with Tmobile US.
Can anybody help me with this? is my phone is bricked?
Followings are the specs of my Wizard.

Its unlikely that shell tool will brick your phone, maybe render it unusable until you reflash another rom.
have you read the thread that details the use of the shell tool. There is alot to read but many problems are discussed there.
Shell tool shouldnt take any longer than about 15 mins, it takes me about 11-12. It seems as though you need to disconnect and reflash with wizard love or your carriers rom before reattempting to use the shell tool. Even though your post indicates that you followed the instructions step by step this may not be the case.
Shell tool most often fails because people dont miss a simple instruction such as dont run any other apps in the background, or turn the phone off.
As i said before i think you need to disconnect and reflash another rom such as wizard love or your carriers rom. Then you can attempt to use shell tool again hopefully with success. Keep us informed on how you go.

yes, my file matching that name is 72.3MB.
Its in italian but you should be able to work out what buttons correspond to next, back, cancel etc. If not just memorise them from another RUU.

I flashed the Wizard love rom and the process went through without any problem. One more question, I am using this sheltool "ShellTool_bugfixed.zip", can you please confirm that it is the right one. Size of this zip is 1.04MB.

Yes that is the correct one.
Read the instructions carefully and you shouldnt have any trouble flashing your rom.

Why are you guys using an obsolete flashing method? Shelltools became obsolete when SoftSPL was released and now there is even HardSPL(CID unlocking).
Shelltools is a slow and painstakingly annoying process but SoftSPL is much faster, sometimes finishes flashing in less then 7 minutes and is very stable and reliable as long as you flash back to the Wizard love Rom or T-Mobile Official Rom first but even that is not entirely required, just recommended...

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I've scoured the forum in vain. Please point me to an existing thread if there is one!
I just tried upgrading my Wizard G4 to TNT5.0 TouchFlo and it didn't quite go to plan...
I was trying out this method and it got all the way through and told me it had finished, but there was some message on my device screen, I can't remember what it said - something about a file not being found or something. It wasn't the one mentioned in the instructions, so alas, it didn't twig and i reset my device
Now I can't get it to go past the screen with the O2 logo and the ipl/spl info. I downloaded Wizard_Love ROM but I can't get it to work. When I reset the phone, the computer does pick it up as a USB device, but as soon as the IPL/SPL text appears, it disconnects again (according to the tone from Windows) so I don't have a chance to run the app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ShellTool method is deprecated and should not be used any more as there is high possibility to fail...
You should now get the Original O2 WM5 ROM to restore your original WM5, then use HardSPL or SoftSPL to flash WM6.
Hi to everybody, I have a great problem.
I was upgrading my Tytn to WM6 Black (Dymond) when at about 30% an error occurred: it said that the cable wasn't connected. My device only showes the three color screen, the PC doesn't recognize it any more and I don't know how to solve this problem. Is possible to get my hermes back to the normal status?

These are my info:
I tried to upgrade (that wasn't my first upgrade) my Tytn to WM6 black, and I don't know why or how, it stopped upgrading (maybe at 30%...i don't remember because of little panic). I tried to upgrade again but it always stopeed. Then I disconnected the device and it has never booted any more. Now I can only see a screen with 4 colored strips. That's all.
No hard reset, no soft reset. Nothing seems to work.
Please, is there abybody could help me?
I can only put my Tytn in bootloader mode. As Windows XP doesn't recognize it any more, is possible to upgrade the device in that mode? I would try to do it.

What IPL/SPL it displays now ? ,Does it get into Bootloaders ? if it still does than download and flash 'wizard_love_rom' hope it'll recover back.

It just boots into a white screen. If i hold the camera and power buttons together it boots into bootloader mode, and says USB in the bottom corner. (when i am conncected via usb) but the problem is that active sync doesnt recognize it in bootloader mode. I have tried flashing it in many different ways and i have had no success.
When i go home i will try wizard_love_rom.
and as for the IPL/SPL, i will also check that when i get home.
Where can i download the wizard_love_rom?

which i found the download for over a quick google search, and now i want to update to winmo6 or 6.1.
Can you send me the link for the easiest way to do it on a G4 cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard.)
I have never CID unlocked, which was probably why i got the white screen earlier. but do i need to do it know that i am on the wizard love rom?

Glade its working again !
You got a G4 device,it cannot be CID unlocked,but however,it can be upgraded to wm6 or 6.1,read the methods 'HardSPL' or 'SoftSPL' posted as stickies in the G4 forum for upgrading to wm6 or 6.1.

I have to problems:
1. My EDGE doesn't work, i only get GPRS speed data.
2. I can't upgrade to any new rom..... i always get "ERROR [300] Get a newer update utility!"
How can I fix both of these problems?
I have searched forums and google and nothing has come up.

ok,for error (300)you can use the RUU MUNS already posted in the 'HardSPL' thread,download the RUU_MUNS application extract it to a folder and copy and paste all the files of this extracted to the folder of the Rom replacing all the RUU files in that folder or copy the nk.nbf folder in the Rom to the extracted folder of the RUU_MUNS and then run the RUU,it will start to flash and complete and hopefully fully boot up.
For edge or gprs,you'll have to get network settings of your network carrier or check out the thread from where you downloaded the rom,its uaually posted there or check out the 'Network' thread.

One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade.
