As far as camera issues, try changing your radio. I haven't personally had any problems with my camera not working but people in various threads have reported camera problems going away after changing the radio.
Your Device must CID unlocked! You need minimum USPL and HardSPL started! If not ... Flashing stops on 99%!

What does a Radio:
The Radio OS is Linux and run in a signed or crypted EFS. Its the main device driver are only stored and config in it! All functions about Wifi, GPS, 3D Acceleration, Blue Tooth, OS Key Mapping, USB, and Audio are handle in the Radio and NOT in the OS!!! The OS have only bridge Drivers to connect to the Radio. What config is in use, are handle via device PID in the NAND.
This is the reason, why some Radios save Power and other have better signal strange! Signal strange is more Country ID related and power saving more related to Protokoll Version.
If you are stuck in the bootloader, download MTTY, connect via USB (Activ Sync must disabled via USB!!!) and type the Command "boot"
Please tell me ... are HardSPL or USPL installed or do you use SSPL ak JumpSPL? how is the radio rom version, you have try? winxp or vista?

Highest Version are the newest ... whats differents ... HTC knows :-> 1.58.21.23 was in the lastest Radio Rom from HTC.

But I have the niki with Radio 1.58.16.27, so if I flash the Radio 1.58.21.23 this is a higher version for me ... or not ???
Yes it is ... my english isnt realy good enough to explane all details about radio rom revision!
some roms are faster ... some have higher batterie drain ... some have special functions for special phone networks!

I've already upgraded to Radio 1.58.21.23 from 1.58.16.27 haven't notice anything significant other then my bluetooth activesync seems to be more consistent, I guess it's early days yet to conclude anything about this Radio, I'll see how I get on with it in the next couple of days!!

running vista ultimate sp1, following all the guides, trying to update to RUU Nike Radio 1.58.21.23,
had the RUU Nike Radio 1.58.16.27 installed...
everything went fine untill it came to 99%... it stalled and the install program told me to follow some
recovery steps, i did, but vista cant recognize the usb device... henche, i cant connect to the phone...
is there a place for drivers or so...??

I think the problem in softbank radio is that radio bootloader has changed.
All radio roms found on ftp have versions 0106 or 0107, but softbank 1.14 radio has radio bootloader version 0108:
HTC_BOOT 0108.0035
I tried changing the bootloader version and encoding the radio again but it doesn't seem to work, radio still remains 1.14 after this... so there must be any other check somewhere...
Sounds right to me. Thats what I show now. I ended up flashing it with the Cingular 1.30.502.1 load and am and quite happy with it. Still has radio load 1.14 but it seems to work quite well here in SW PA.

how do we check it?... i'm too noob for this... let me know how and i'll check it later....
1. go into bootloader (side ok + power button + softreset with stylus)
2. disable activesync on PC (File --> Connection settings --> uncheck "allow USB connections")
3. connect phone to USB, open mtty.exe and hit enter twice, you should see "USB>" prompt
4. type "checkimage" and hit enter. Do not copy paste (type it!).

That is what I got on my phone, I hope I did everything right. I have post Dec.2 phone with new rom English MUI and default english input by Asukal:

Somewhat off the topic: I hope that you are not referring to the missing pixel(not dead) on the Windows Mobile logo screen at the beginning. There is a missing pixel in the middle upper part of the logo screen, but in is not dead, it is just missing in the picture itself. If you try to reset the phone while the keyboard is open(that is in Landscape mode) you will notice that this pixel changes and is still in the upper middle part of the WM logo picture, but relative to the screen itself it is now in the right middle part if you look at it as if in portrait mode.
If that is the pixel you thought was dead, than it was pointless to bring it back to Softbank. Anyway too late now.
P.S. I took me quite some time of very very careful looking at the screen and testing with different wallpapers until I fond that out.
yeah.. it caught my attention too, of that windows bootscreen... i thought it had a dead pixel... i got rid of it and change the bootscreen image...

More off-topic: My eyes are still serving me good... I'm not that old, can notice difference between DEAD pixel and 'undead' one... Mine is dead, burried, gone forever, rahmetli... It's quite noticeable in boot-loader too... To be honest, in windows (wm5 boot & wm5 standard blue skin) i's quite hard to notice it, and that's why I haven't seen it when I was buying this phone, otherwise I wouldn't buy it.
I had a dead pixel also - it was 'always blue' which was great for the Today screen and not very visible in PIM apps, but was extremely obvious at boot time or when playing video. SB wouldn't replace it just for the bad pixel, but fortunately I had a bad GSM Radio and got a DOA replacement (honest-the radio went bad all by itself, I didn't do anything to it!)
Figure out some way to take it apart and short circuit the board, cause it to fail with no proof. They will probably DOA it for you instead of trying to repair it.
I recently got a Cingular 8525 and have been trying to unlock it to use with an old AT&T sim but it appears it is radio locked just like the recent Softbank tytns. Has there been any progress with figuring out how to flash the radios yet?

I have one MSPV M3100 and i upgrate this to WM6 Xda-Live 0.20.1 ROM. This rom woek perfectly but my telephone run very bad.

I want upgrade my Radio Rom to 1.27 version, but not it with himself. I have tried 4 times, and always the same error. ERROR 114= Upgrade error.
I have followed these instructions:
Upgrade instructions
1. Extract the contents of the compressed file you've just downloaded
2.Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
Description for Radio 1.11 shows ver 0.70, but don't worry about it, it is really 1.11
3. The Hermes screen will turn white and show "Upgrade Radio Stack Please wait........."
4. If you get a "ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR", do not disconnect the device, run MaUpgradeUt_noID again.
5. The upgrading process will start and MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe will end up saying "ERROR 114: Upgrade Error", but the radio ROM will be flashed anyway, don't worry about that error!
6. Soft reset with stylus (Device will not be hard reset and no data will be lost)

I have the Oliman 1.10 and ipl is 1.01. Search for hard spl and you will have it all.

Before you flash the radio it is a good idea to use Hard-SPL so if the flash goes wrong the phone can be recovered.

EDIT: Apparently the fido icon comes up when you select "Albania - Albanian Mobile Comms" as your provider.. Which is ALSO a non-sensical choice if you're in the USA....

Hey Meodio_99, sorry but you are a classical case of someone who is going to end up with a bricked (dead) phone. You have a disadvantage as your English does not appear to be very good but you need to both read AND understand otherwise sooner or later you will end up with a bricked phone.
I suggest you read all the WIKI sections talking about upgrading and also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755
It might take you an hour or so but it might also prevent you from crying yourself to sleep at night because you killed your Hermes!

I have this wizard for couple of years.
It works fine but sometimes looses connection with GSM (became unavailable).
The bad joke is that I do not know about it (signal indicator shows good signal and others are ok).
At the moment I'm using the following firmware:

os 2.21.4.1
WM5
I think the first possible solution is to upgrade radio.
Which version works most stable? Where is it? How to reprogram it without hard reset and reflashing all device (too hard to backup and reinstall all the software)?

Its very simple to flash and upgrade Radio Rom,just hook up the phone with pc via usb cable and run the RUU in the Radio Rom,it'll hardly take a couple of minutes to flash.

I've found 2.71 with RUU_GO.exe
Is it the file to run? Is it suitable for 'operators' phone (G4)?
Can I be sure that nothing will happens with the current apps and data?
All Radio Roms are safe to flash to any device,G3 or G4,it just flashes and upgrades the GSM files and nothing else is changed or effected,it doesn't have any IPL/SPL (Bootloaders) in it.None of your personal data or application will get effected.
The most stable and commonly used Radio rom is considered to be is 2.19.11 and 2.69.11.But everyone have their own experiences,it all depends which suites you the best.

I've problem while unlocking my Herm(MDA Vario II form Era). I downloaded Unlock_v3a prom forum. SPL updated succesfully to 1.40 Olipro byt while installing Radio it stuck on 0%. Then i have only bootloader screen and I install WM 6 wersion of operator (but without Radio etc because when i tried install full it stuck on 12% - radio install). Anyone have some idea what's wrong?
