Looking for Comm Manager with 3G on/off - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

Hi folks.
I'm looking for a Comm Manager with 3G on/off Button - see attached file. I would prefer it in German, but WWE is quit good as well. And it should work with the Nike Attached file ist a picture of a Comm Manager fpr the Polaris, so it has WIFI. The one for the Nike should have Direct Push.
Somebody has a link? THX in advance!

Yeah, I want such a CommManager too!

that comm manager is in toms ROM.
i did a quick search and found this. (not exactly the same but it has the 3g button)

you have to start an application where it will need data connection (i.e. Internet Explorer, or Weather Applications)
When you open up IE and try to go to a website, the phone will automatically "ON" the data connection. You can only turn the data connection OFF manually

install advanced config by schaps you can change the comm manager to have a 3g switch and make the data connection permanent along with a load more stuff

damn you beat me to it lol...
Only problem ive encountered with that solution is that (on my device anyway) there is no icon for the 3g switch in comm manager, doesnt bother me in the slightest but it may bother the perfectionists amongst us.....

Do you use Schaps Advanced Config 1.1 or 2.1.0.0?

How to disable data from auto-connecting?!

I've been using DCD 3.0.1 for a bit now, it's the only custom ROM this phone has seen, and I use TomTom Navigator 6 for trips, it works great! However, anytime I try to use TomTom Navigator 6, something in my phone tries to connect to #777 (data), then, because I don't have a data plan, it comes at me with a 'cannot connect for an unknown reason' bubble, which disables TomTom and freezes it in the background.. the bubble doesn't go away on it's own and I get this annoying 'cannot connect for an unknown reason' bubble at least 15 times per minute.
Anyone know how I can fully disable (not permanently) the phone from attempting to connect to the wireless data network?

I disabled the DATA connection (not wifi) on my HTC P4000 by modifying the registry. Look here:
http://www.slimcode.com/cs/blogs/ma...g-data-connection-on-an-htc-p4000-device.aspx
Looks great! How do I access the registry on this phone?

EDIT: Downloaded an app, done.. seems to be working well, thanks!

Hmmm, I didn't have that CDMA1X key, but that may be because I had already gone into into the Advanced Settings under Connections, edited my provider's internet connection, deleted its entry under Modem, and then deselected its connection to the internet under Proxy Settings.
If lacking a registry editor, that also disables automatic network connectivity.
Software App
Try NoData - This utility allows you to toggle the data connection when needed. However, it resets itself to "enabled" on a soft reset.
This might be a little too much but hey it works.
What I did was to go into the EPST settings by dialing ##778 ( Verizon -- Sprint or other might use a diffrent one )
and went into the modem settings and changed the Preferred mode to CDMA only.
This will kill all data connections and leave your normal voice / sms connection intact.
Once again this might be too much. ( I don't use the data connection that much / pure WiFi)
But if you want to disable wireless data on TOM TOM
go to the Main Menu -- Tom Tom PLUS Services -- and once your in this menu you will see an option to Disable or Enable Wireless Data.
Just disable it and you should be good.

Sense and wifi

hi,
I have tg01 with 6.5 sense arag0n85's ROM.
I can't get wifi to work. My netbook work great, but phone can't connect.
I turn on wifi in settings tab, but I can't choose which network to use.
can someone make a video how to choose a network?
I would be very thankful.
Hi yaro666,
No need for a video go to page 21 of the thread and download and install the TGO1 Comm manager you will then be able to turn the WiFi and Bluetooth on and off as it fixes the problem by installing an all Black version of the Comm Manager that works.
Also if you want/need to set up your WiFi access point click on start in the Home Screen then scroll down to Toshiba settings click on Wireless Manager then Menu then WiFi settings and from there you can add a new access point. Hope that helps solve your problem.

registry path to one special setting

hey mates,
i havent got always a data plan for my phone.
so normally, the mobile internet is disabled.
i do that with the following setting:
WinMo Settings - Connections - Connections - More - Choose Networks
-> programs with automatical internet access use "firmennetzwerk"
as you know, this is wireless lan.
when i change it to "E-Plus Internet", my device of course makes a data connection.
i dont use the data connection very often, so its mostly disabled. but when i wanna use it, i've always to do what is mentioned above
i guess there must be a registry value, which changes it from "Firmennetzwerk" to "E-Plus Internet" and vise versa.
can anyone say me, which one it is?
so i could make a little programm, to enable/disable it.
i tried many programms with data on/off options, but non of them really disabled it.
any other advice?
thanks!

you dont need to swap them, if you can manage to get the mobile connection disabled, it will automatically switch to using wifi so long as wifi is connected.
I use THIS. I dont use teh auto data disconnect feature of it, but the on off toggles work flawlessly for me. Flick my 'mobile web' (my default data connection) to off, and it stays off no matter what tries to connect. When i am connected to wifi, everything routes through that unless i turn the data switch back on.
you could try finding if and where the registry is changed using Kheb,
also (and pardon me, if I misunderstood your problem) why switch networks in such a tedious way?
it seems much easier to either
- enable networks (Wi-Fi or cellular) directly in the settings / comm manager
- or use quicklink switches like HD2connections?
so there's no need to dive into settings then...
thanks.
i'll give it a try.
for example with "nodata (modaco)", i could disable the data connection by pressing the button..but surprisingly, it only disconnected it....when the next program wanted a connection, it was just there again...do you understand?
DN41
i think you missunderstood it
i wanna enable it sometimes to update my facebookstatus (0.facebook.com is free for e-plus user), of course i only do it when i sit in a bus or something like that...at home i use wifi instead..
things like hd2connections didnt work for me..
maybe kheb could be the solution.

I understand, and yea, many of the data apps dont always work as expected, but the toggle in that app seems to work for me. (The timed disconnection is a little ropey, as with all apps, but the toggle works)
thanks.
i'll test it. if it works for me like for you, its fine
if not, i'll make my one "program".
DN41
it seems that the toggle simply switches THIS key 1 or 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{long hex number, yours wont match mine)}\Connections\NAME OF YOUR DATA ACCOUNT\Enabled
thanks
you're always a help, samsamuel
DN41
heh, i dont like to not know stuff, cant move on till ive looked it up and tested it. Thank you ceregistryeditor compare!

why not? what I like in hd2connections is ease of usage - two quicklinks on homescreen ("Wi-Fi on/off" and "Data on/off"), when in need of internet switch on the preferred one, switch it off afterwards -> quick/selective and does not eat battery
because it does not block the data connection.
if a program has to download something, the data connection is made.
thats what i dont want.

Bsb tweaks? I used to use that to block the data connection then enable it when I wanted a quick surf

[Q] Remove default GPRS network

Hi All
I have an ex T-Mobile HTC HD2 running windows 6.5 and connected to O2.
Mostly everything works fine except . . . . .
When I try to download an MMS message the phone tries to use the T-Mobile network and as this is not set up, it doesn;t work.
It tries to use t-Mobile even when connected to wifi
I have tried getting onto the network manager but all the T-Mobile settings are greyed out. and there is no option to delete the entry (edit, press and hold gives no options).
Network manager is set to use O2 (Connect to internet and Private network)
So, please, how do I get rig of T-Mobile and default to O2.
I presume it some registry hack?
TFAI
Try downloading & install this connection settings tool by HTC >
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=565785&d=1302516709
Once installed it will have a shortcut link in Settings, Connections, Connection Setup
Run it & choose country 'UK' & network provider 'O2' *be sure choose postpay or prepay*
It should load all setting including MMS.
If have issues post back for more help.
Another good option would be debranding your HD2 with either standard generic HTC ROM or Custom ROM such as Energy, links can be found in HD2 Wiki > http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD2#ROM_Development
Thanks for that.
Sadly not a huge success. cab downloaded and installed.
Run, reset, set up connection, reset etc
Eventually Settings, Connections, Connection Setup select O2 postpay and another restart just in case
Then
Wireless Controls, Data Connection, but it wont conect. (Slider wont go green)
Wifi Conection greyed out.
Total mess.
Back to Conection Setup and check but its set to UK, O2 postpay
I have Data Controller installed but that allows all O2 (MMS postpay and mobile web)
At least I could access the www before
How do I get out of this mess
TFAI
I would try removing data controller as that has some known issues of messing up the connection settings in registry.
I use GB-SOFT GPRS UMTS tweak which auto disconnects gprs when not used (set time to zero).
So in review >
remove Data controller & soft reset
Go into Settings>Connections>Connections>select 'manage existing connections' & delete any settings remaining
re-run Connection Setup & see if works !
I've never had trouble on provider roms such as T-Mobile so assume will be messy registry problem.
If no joy, post again & I will try dig up a guide & settings for O2 for manually trying input GPRS & MMS.
Good fix would be Custom WM6.5.5 such as one in my signature.
hhhmmm struggling. I can find no sensible way of uninstalling the Data controller. There is no entry on the list of programs to uninstall and I cant identify a directory.
There is a shortcut that points to \Windows\DataController.exe but is removing the program enough?
Good news is that I can Wireless stuff now works (My fault, I had forgotten they dont work when usb is connected to PC) So the only problem is MMS. Mor efiddling around, reran the HTC thing. Deleted an old connection and reboote a couple of times and eventually it worked.
And they call this a science!!
Thanks for you help
^ So is MMS now working !
If not I will post a manual MMS settings guide I have for WM6.5 somewhere.
Just removing the datacontroller.exe wouldn't be enough really, what really wanted is registry for it removed.
From your comments sounds like was mainly dirty connection settings in registry.
Data & MMS connections can be bit of a pain in WM6.5 but once learned manually or if the htc connections settings tool works perfectly they are better than android or iphone for flexibility & control.
