** FIRST : lets know names of prophet :

** SECOND : we must know that before we trying to do any updating or change roms on my prophet i just need to do which called unlock for the prophet and then we after that been able to change any rom on my ( jamin ) and of course u need to be careful about Your device is it G4 or G3 ,
# and how we know its G4 Or G3 ?
# when u start Your Device u will see some numbers on left,

and may be changed and that goes to the rom which You have, now we look for the last number on ( IPL and SPL ) , if we found it ( 0 ) it means You r G3 and if it ( 1 ) so You r G4 .
** THIRD : lets go to unlock , i will put programs in this thread it will help u in unlock.
-- Sync your device with computer and open the file u download it called HardSpl you will find two files one one foe G3 and G4 open your kind then you'll find a file called (( hardspl.bat )) okay, be sure your device is connected to computer then open the file and follow instruction and it will reset your device ,
now u ready to change rom.

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!
Ok so i burnt my battery during the upgrade...
But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...

I was flashing my brothers phone for him, and I was using the CID Workaround, and it completed, and then after a hard reset the device wouldnt go past the first splash screen.. pllease help
If your able to get into bootloader mode then you should be able to flash another rom such as wizard love or your providers rom.
If you read the thread on unlocking G4 cid locked using shell tool you will see what i mean. I personally was stuck in a very similar situation and received help, so the info you need might be in that thread.

i used the shell tool, but i just got stuck on the first splash after i did that.... here are device specs
Its a Cingular 8125, obivously g4
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
It doesnt get past bootloader, and I would really like to put WM6 on it.
At this point, I've tried various other ROMs and nothing is working. Any thoughts or ideas at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just follow this steps u will be out of it.
Press and hold the camera button and reset the phone, hold the camera button until you see the tri color screen (bootloader), when u are on tri color screen connect the USB with your phone(dont see for active sync it wont recognise but it will be connected), and then flash your phone with the rom your provider has given you i.e, the original rom and DONT flash it with shell tool use the exe file of the rom.
When you are at the original rom then try to flash the WM6 with shell tool and follow the instruction properly.

I cannot do that because the Carrier ROMs that I have aren't for G4, so they arent working. I have three different carrier ROMs for my phone.. and none of them work.

i'm facing this problem right now , i will solve it with the original rom .
the problem started when i used shelltool to upgrade my G4 CID Locked to windows mobile 6 crossbow underground edition .
i will give it another try when i get my device alive again ,
any suggestions for the WM6 underground to make it work using shelltool on my wiza 200 ??

Finally i solved the problem and installed Crossbow WM6 underground edition .
all i did is to install the original rom from provider and then used shelltool to install WM6 .
i want to mention that my wiza200 is G4 and its CID Locked .

I've searching for love rom few hours at night, then finally found, it is using the same flashing frontend (but in italian? language), flashed ok, phone's running. I've tried some few other wm6 roms, but always errors like "too old, get new one" or once it was probably fake, because it loaded exactly the same ROM as love one is. So, now I've probably stuck on WM5 at all

try to do as i did and it worked for me , install the provider flash , then try shelltool to flash WM6 underground .

Mine is G4, dunno if cid is locked or not. I've flashed it as I said with wizard love rom and working without problems. I've tried that again this morning, to flash from love rom, but the same. At 96% it hangs, error 302 Communication error, then starts recovery process, phone goes to bootloader mode. Then is possible to flash it with love rom again with no problem

i have a g4 wizard using the shell tool i have chaged my rom on my phone sometimes 3 times a week just to test them out

No, not really, rapi and that second cab was in device, it was restarted, but I did a mistake - i didn't copied that desired rom into updater directory - that was why were all fields N/A... did that, flashed on first try, without problem

First of all, its not bricked. Bricked = doesn't turn on, nothing, blank screen.
I've looked to your info, you already have HardSPL, so you can flash directly using any RUU, don't use shelltools!
Enter bootloader (hold camera+reset), open up the RUU of the ROM you want (make sure it doesn't have any IPL/SPL) and flash away

Ok i have try everything. I have tried the RUU from the HTC site and even everything else when it is searching for the PDA and crashes idk why. You guys wanna see bricked? I have a BRICKED! phone... My MDA was the unfortunate victim of a car accident. When my car went carreening off the road, my MDA went flying through the air and ended up on the floor of the car but not before hitting virtually every surface on the inside of the car.
Now my charge port is completely snapped off and my battery shorted out when I was trying to hold the charge port in place to charge it and fried the main board. DEAD. NO MORE.
THAT MY FRIENDS, IS BRICKED....

Well i got mine up and running agian just used XP and install the RUU from HTC YES.......Now when i go to install WM6 when i press update were it should show me the Ver. of the one i am installing on my phone it does not say why please help and what do i need to install WM6 on my phone?

first of all,as dferreira has assured u that ur device is not bricked,secondly ,you already have HardSPL,that means your device is unlocked,just follow his instructions,download any wm6 Rom and flash,it'll good to go,but if u still want to be sure,download WST Tool from the below given thread read carefully and apply the tool to verify the status of ur device,

Ok, Used SoftSPL and tried flashing the ROM. It manages to get to 99% and then just goes RED. I have tried 3 different ROMS and same story it goes RED at 99%.
When i remove the battery, it goes to the RUU Red, Green and Blue screen. SPL version is 2.16.0001. Not Oli's new one.
What do i do from now?

Soft SPL only allows you ONE update, so phone is CID unlocked only when Soft SPL is loaded.
It's normal for the RUU to stick on 99 % for a couple of minutes, The whole update will take aprox 10 minutes.
You can try the hard SPL from there you are semi-permanently CID unlocked.

during the upgrade it was around 15% that the upgrade utility show the error that device cannot connect.
my device is bricked now

it the first splash screen it shows no gsm
it only shows the bootloader menu

Did you also read the wiki to see how to install hardspl to protect your device BEFORE flashing ?(here: http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27 )? Are you using Olipro hardspl?
Try to use the SDCARD method (Format a sdcard in FAT32. Copy the nbh file on it and rename it HERMIMG.NBH. Insert the card and HR : OK/POWER/Soft reset. Follow the instructions)

I hope you understand this, Basically if
1. You have a "No GSM"
2. Your CID is corrupted
3. Your OS has no KITL mode
4. You didn't use HARDSPL...
Then your phone is screwed, and you need to buy a new one or send it to repair.
Hope you have better luck with your next phone. (you seem to be collecting bricked phones!)

The offical I-mate telstra Jasjam rom for WM6 came out recently previous to that i just kept the original WM5 rom that it came with much to the dismay of my peers, actually considered it a few times but decided against it till the official rom came out.
yeah if you follow the instructions for the WM6 rom you use it should be ok however the "Murphys law" of programming tends to suggest there will always be an error that they dont allow for.

This has NOTHING to do with only using official Roms! One has pretty much the same chance of bricking their phone evening using an official WM6 as a cooked variant from Schaps et al..
Simply put if you don't use HardSPL then you're asking for trouble no matter what the ROM. You should also use the MicroSD wherever possible as it is much more reliable.

the unlock seemed to go well the first time but, it won't come out of boot loader mode
i ran hornet o.10 for g4 it runs and completed to 100 % and then on reboot it comes up with the boot screen again

i ran the tnt 1933 rom this morning and it completed 100% but still i have a boot screen
i know im missing something the battery power is fine .
i downloaded the stock rom for cingular but it won't load it has error "(294) INVALID VENDOR"

Are you sure SPL is 2.21 and not 2.21.0001 as IPL 2.21.0001 ?
Well,if its 2.21 only,the phone's got mixed Bootloaders (IPL/SPL),IPL 2.21.0001 are G4 and SPL 2.21 is G3,I don't know how you got it,but your phone is 'Bricked'

so it appears there could be a problem with the imei program,
as i said it never came out of boot mode after the unlock
and no errors were shown ...
i could get another and replaced the main board, this one is in new condition
except for the custom bricked rom . in the future i will not play with a g4
thanks for the diagnosis, no way to flash a new spl / ipl ... i did read that if
it booted you could get it back in some chance cases .. i am curious as to how this happened (others not doing this for a hobby could brick there only phone)
step 1 - ran imei unlock

2- flashing the to above roms said to be G4 safe
i never look to see what the ipl / spl were before
i looked with the wizard tool but didn't save it
well you live and learn, it's good for parts now off to ebay for another crack at it ...

I recommend trying to flash back to original service provider ROM, then unlock again and try another. As long as you can get to bootloader (tri-color screen), there's still hope for your phone. When it's in this mode, and you plug in the USB, does it say USB at the bottom of the phone screen? If so, you are not dead yet.
Custom build wm6 roms like TNT etc... never Brick a G4 phone as no IPL/SPL is included in them,they are completely safe for G4 devices.What I can gather,it must be the wrong imei unlock code perhaps.
Well,like Myrddin Wyllt said,there's no harm in trying,so if it gets into Bootloaders,try to flash the official rom and if there's an error "wrong update utility" ,replace the RUU in the rom with this RUU and run this RUU,hope it might work.

yes sir i can talk to the phone from xp pro ..
USB does come up
so i can swap the RRU with the nbf file i need ...
no file name change required on the xxx.nbf file
thanks alot for the(schooling) advise ... i was going to need to brick another to make some book ends... this could save me that

ok, i swapped out every RUU i could find i get errors from
read file
invalid vendor id
wrong update utility
im too new to figure this out ..can you extract a ipl / spl from an
official rom and then flash that to get the boot loader's back in sync
i found the att 8125 ipl /spl nbf when i flash, it runs to 100% reboots but no changes
anyone have a link to flashing just the ipl / spl on the g4
i am most thankful for any advise ..
try running the hardspl on phone, it might just work to revert it back to a G4 spl.

Also I paid to the IMEI Check and I had to change the plate because the PDA died as yours. E had not returned to the money of the IMEI Check only reply to me was that it had to change of plate ..... It had the unblocked CID?

I am a noob in this area. I am reading the forum for the last days and trying to upgrade my i-mate jamin G3 but i always get stuck...
I started this thread as it involves more than one thread I read, namely
- Windows Mobile 6 Directory For Dummies

- Prophet Tools Light: Just the flash! & Prophet Tools: Simplify Flashing--V2.8.3 now up!
- Current upgrade guide for the most ROMs
- LAZYTOOL For all nk.nbf FLASHING + 3 color bootup SOLUTION + (PLEASE READ.........)
- WM 6.5 build 21501 Titanium [ Fixed ] & Fixed CommManager, and other ROMs I tryed...
- ...
so here it goes:
#1# I tryed to run HardSPL an I got an error message like this:
'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard'
so i guess i didn't work...
#2# then I tryed with ProphetTools and after doing the HardSPL it asks (in jamin) to run JumpSPL I click on yes and then I get white screen (in jamin) I click the flash rom and then I get either:
- error 260 or 274 - connection - this sometimes is worked around and got to 208
or/then
- error 208 - file open (and I did put the nk.nbf rom file in ...\Tools (as said on PTL) and also tryed in ...\Utils\Flash)
#3# While in white screen (achieved with PTL) I also tryed ROM 21501 (with its own RUU) and I get 3 colour screen after supposedly successful upgrade...
#4# also tryed lazyTool but got the same 3 colour screen
#5# With the no vendor NVID_RUU (got from lazy tool thread) I got it back to WM5 and working, pitfully i forgot to dump my original rom so now i am stuck in WM5 in English (i at least had it in Portuguese - my native L)...

... actually my prophet (jamin) works fine after I flashed the NVID, the problem is that I can't put it to work with any other ROM...
So any of senior experts plz advice
hopefully i am missing some supidly simple solution

My SPL only shows:
IPL 2.13
SPL 2.20
im a total noob here too but i never encountered the same prob as you have.. i see SPL 2.20 right... so if you want to flash a ROM from here its required that you do HardSPL. i have a G3 device too. you might want to try this... i will try to help as much as i can...
make sure your USB cable/cradle is working perfectly and try to attached it at the back of your PC CPU...
and btw are you using XP or VISTA? coz i use XP...
just RUN HardSPL and let it do its thing... when its done check your SPL again..

I just got another USB cable borrowed and tried the HardSPL you uploaded and it Worked
Actually It gave me the same error message about 'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard' but this time I didn't got the 3colour screen at the end, instead it restarted normally with SPL 2.G3
I am just waiting battery charge reaches 50% to try flashing it
