ROM: BlackBerry support in MiChY's 6.1 - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

Thanks for such a great ROM!
I have created a BlackBerry compatible ROM from MiChY's 6.1 rom (1.60 full version), nothing else has changed except the device name (required for BBC). So just flash this ROM from here:
ONLY for SPL 3.5
(Sry, don't have 1.2 to test the rom)
http://www.loginworks.com/files/Athena_SPL3.5_WWE_WM6.1_1.60F-MiChY_bb.rar
BB Connect tested with this ROM:
http://www.loginworks.com/files/bbconnect_wm6_professional_bb_al_4.0.0.97.zip
And apply the attached registry file and you should be ready to use BBC on Athena.
Edit: It seems clicking on reg file does not applies the registry change, you will need to import this registry file or change the registry value for HKLM->System->Versions's key: AKU: from anything to 0.4.2.
Have a nice time ...
Though i have used Exchange accounts before, but the simplicity and ease of setup is un-rivaled in blackberry

what change you have made?

Hi there,
Very simple change is required: Just change the device name from HTC-Athena to HTC-Hermes.
Once we have the .nbh file, we can use any HEX editor to do so, plus the AKU should be .0.4.2 (which needs to be applied to the ROM once installed).
Once again, all credits to you for a wonderful rom. Though have tested it only for 2 days, but seems very nice. Thanks!

shoot!!
[email protected], I have just downgraded to SPL 1.2 and re-flashed with "Ver 1.60 MiChY Full Edition".
Any chance I can modify it without re-flashing it again If you help me out I can then post a SPL 1.2 compatible version ....
BTW: the ROM is really superb !

thank you all

what client and desktop versions of bb are you running?
thanks,

Hi,
The BBC client is: 4.0.0.97
I have updated the first post with a link to the BBC client I have tested the ROM with (and is presently installed on my Athena)

Nope, I am not aware of a way to make it BB Compliant without reflashing as the process needs to modify the device signature.

Problems here...
Re-flashed with modified ROM and got stuck on "setting loop".
So I decided to go back to 1.60 original...
Can you please relese a step-by-step to modify the ROM?
Not necessary I have re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-flashed and now it works (the ROM I mean). For some reasons tapping on the regitry file is not doing anything ??
Any idea on how to apply the reg file?
Thank you

WiZaxx, which version of SPL are you using, I have heard that "Settings loop" happen if you try a ROM for 3.5 version on 1.2 version.
I have flashed the same ROM which is uploaded without any issues on my athena with 3.5.
Moreover, nothing has changed in this ROM apart from Device signature ... so I guess if you flash the 1.6 original SPL 3.5 version, you should still be hitting in the "Settings Loop".
For a step by step guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ight=c0rnholio
About REG file, yes it seems not to work if you double click. I will be looking into it, but by the time i come up with a fix, there two options:
1. Import the .reg file.
2. Follow the steps mentioned in the post I mentioned for step by step guide on how to change the AKU in registry from anything to ".0.4.2"
That should do the trick.
I should have mentioned that double click does not works, sorry for that. Will modify the post now.

Customized 1.72.187 Extended ROM (No Blackberry)

I have received requests to customize the 1.72.187 UK ROM for Asian users. As requested, here it is.
This extended ROM is based on the latest UK release of 1.72.187, and was customized for asian users of the XDA II.
All the latest versions of the software in the base ROM are included, minus all O2 UK custom settings and software, however all configuration settings are set to the old Asian extended ROM version 1.60.44.
I also added the latest drivers/software for the Socket Communications SDIO Wifi card and the XDA II Thumb Keyboard which automatically install as a part of the post install tasks.
I had to remove the Java MIDlet Manager included in the base ROM since the size limit of the extended ROM was exceeded, and I also removed the O2 Active UI since it is customized for O2 UK users. I included the installer .CAB file for the MIDlet Manager in the .ZIP file so that it can be installed manually after the ROM upgrade if desired.
CHANGES from the other custom ROM (1.72.181):
1. Based on the UK ROM version 1.72.187
2. No Blackberry support
3. Added the ClearType font fix from ROM version 1.60.44
4. Added the Extended ROM Viewer patch (Extended ROM can now be seen in File Explorer)
I have already tested it on my Xda II and I had no problems with flashing it and I am currently experiencing no issues with it whatsoever.
THe download is available further down in this thread, I removed the old download because it was corrupted.

Would you consider to put in the SRS rotation and key as well?
Also, can you provide a brief guide for how to install the file?
The files you attached is just the nbf file. Also, what's the use for the password?
Thanks again.

When the SRS backporting to the Xda II is at its most stable stage, I will include it in the extended ROM, as of now I feel its still unstable, although I feel that the guys working on it are doing an excellent job (my personal opinion).
To use the file is just 3 steps:
1. Extract the contents of the original UK ROM update (Xda_II_172187_Final.exe) into any directory of your choice with WinZip.
2. Extract the ms_.nbf from the custom ROM I posted into the same directory that you extracted the files from step 1, overwriting the original ms_.nbf.
3. Run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe executable to flash your device.
The password is for users whou would like to further customize the ROM where openning it up requires a password. I only posted the extended ROM since it was the only part of the original ROM that was customized, and posting the entire ROM would just result in a larger download.
Many thanks.
Understood now.
Tried the ROM but have problem with my C-guys wifi card....
Not sure whether it is the wlan software has some conflicts with the C-guys driver, have uninstalled the wlan software and will try the C-guys card again.
where can find the ROM?
Hi,
I tried to register, but the "Confirmation code: picture" appears as RED X.
Can someone show me where can I get this ROM without registering to this forum?

Asia O2 Xda II WM 2003 SE Upgrade (Under Construction)

As I have seen many are still struggling with the upgrade or having post-upgrade problems I am posting this thread in hope of helping those Xda II owners from the O2 Asia affected or concerned.
The end result of the upgrade will be as follows.
ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM date: 06/14/04
Radio version: 1.18
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.12.925WWE
DeviceData:
U S B 3 2 2 . 0 6 . 0 0 W W E P H 1 0 O 2 W W E 1 . 1 2 . 9 2 5 W W E 1 . 1 8 . 0 0
This upgrade has been performed on my Xda II which has a BootLoader 1.01 hence those with a later BootLoader please consider this thoroughly.
Errors
First off. If previous attempts have been fouled by the Country ID error obstacle please proceed with this step to rectify by reverting your Xda II back to original O2 state. Else skip this.
Download the compressed file attached, unzip and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe whilst your Xda II is docked and ActiveSynced.
Flash
Here is the upgrade proper.
Download the compressed file attached, unzip and if you are equipped, modify the Extended ROM to your fancy as you deemed fit.
Else run HimaUpgradeUt.exe whilst your Xda II is docked and ActiveSynced.
TBC
Will resume morrow with enhancements that are left out from the Extended ROM.
I have 'No Eye Deer' what the response would be like for this thread as what I only wish to offer is stability and reliability.
Anyways I would want to take this opportunity to thank all those involved and contributed in making WM 2003 SE on the Xda II a reality.

OK brother of the same land!
I'll try it tonight. However, just a few ideas for your EXT ROM.
Is the bluetooth icon on Today's screen still playing hide-and-seek? I tried Buzz and another guy's solution (at othet threads) but they still don't work especially when switching from landscape-to-portrait and vice versa and performing other tasks when there's a need to do a screen refresh. If it works flawlessly for your PPC maybe you can incorporate into the EXT ROM depending on which version you're using.
Secondly, can incorporate the latest SDIO WiFi driver (just released) because I could not find the cab file for the EXT ROM installation.
Thirdly, can replace with colourful keyboard layout instead of the default mono keyboard? Not sure how to do it from the EXT ROM side.
I think the rest I can customize myself
Many thanks Dr.

Thanks for the support and feedback Bro.
Initially the reason behind me intentionally leaving out some of the cabinet files are so that users can customize to their own flavour but keeping those that are the backbone of a reliable and stable WM 2003 SE Xda II.
However your point is noted and I think it is a good idea. I am working on it now.
Revised Extended ROM
The Extended ROM has been revised to contain BlueTooth Today Profile Fix. Please redownload from the earlier post thank you.
As for the other enhancements as promised will be provided soon.
This thread is also for new Xda II users/owners who are keen on upgrading to WM2003SE but keep running into a wall or are clueless. Simply download and run the ROM and your Xda II should be up and running on WM2003SE.
Seasoned members who suffer from post-upgrade problems and issues please feel free to ask about customizing your own Extended ROMs and compatibilities.
RE
Hi Dr,
One thing I notice is that the SDIO WiFi cab file (the older version) is rather large and incorporating it into the EXT ROM wil mean you don't have enough EXT ROM memory for other cab files.
Quote
"Please download from first post thank you"
BTW I don't have the country ID error so should I download the O2.zip or the XDAIIx.zip? Are you saying the XDAIIx.zip do not have the bluetooth today profile fixl?
Thanks
Can i use extended rom unlocker and directly import the contents of the rom on my xda then make a hard reset or is it more advisable to re-flash the rom with se2?
Thanks!
Re: RE
As I have reiterated the enhancements will be attached in another post. It will include procedures to exploit the Storage folder as an Extended Extended ROM.

Bro you can download the XdaIIx.zip and upgrade as you do not have the Country ID Error. I have tweaked my ROM to default original O2 state so if you do run into the error than you should run the fix in the O2.zip file.
The revised Extended ROM now contains the BlueTooth Today Profile Fix.

If your Xda II is already running on WM2003SE 2.06.00WWE (neat - untouched) and has no issues or problems you may perform the former but if you do I strongly suggest the latter.
RE
Hi DR.
Once you've finished your new EXTROM could you upload as a zip file instead of the ms_.nbf file.
The reason is that we already have the main ROM and the radio installed so no point going through that process again. Using zip file I can further customize and install the files into my EXTROM and perform a hard reset to get the installation done.
Thanks.
Extended ROM
I shall upload both the ms_.nbf and *.zip files for ease of new owners/users and for seasoned ones respectively.

Finally, I solved the mystery of why after loading the profile.dll (even in the EXT ROM) my Today bluetooth icon still disappears despite successful reports from other users.
What I've done was go to the EXT ROM (with the profile.dll loaded in it) and click on the profile.dll cab file. It'll ask you to soft reset your PPC and after which the bluetooth icon on the Today screen remains sticky FOREVER!
Now, the question is why during the booting up phase after a hard reset the profile.dll cab is not activated? Instead Ive to go to the EXT ROM to activate it after the complete installation?
DR, can you look into this? Does this happen to your installation?
Thanks

Edit the string called "MSYSTEM" found in \HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\3rdversion.
Name it, give it a value of your own liking.. it shall accept any alphanumeric, any UNICODE.
OK this is good.
Is there's a way to do it prior to the EXT ROM installation?
I mean that if I give my ROM to someone, he will have my version number automatically.
I think this is what you were looking for: Sin mentioned with his thread updating to merged 2.0 (which is brilliant by the way) that if you modify this attached file, which then needs to be included in your ExtROM, you should get a "version" number for your efforts. I haven't tried it but give it a whirl.

HTC Touch Pro Stock ROM Dump (Multilingual/Arabic Supported)

Hey guys,
I extracted my ROM and was wondering if anyone here was interested in obtaining it. I bet some people need this, so enjoy Next step when i have a bit of time and some concentration, is to learn cooking
I did a dump of my HTC Touch Pro Stock ROM which has the latest ROM Update that HTC Has Released Recently for the Middle East.
Took the RUU_signed from this latest HTC ROM Update: _HTC Touch_Pro_RUU_Raphael_HTC_ARA_2.01.415.3_Radio_Signed_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01_Ship.exe
Information about this stock ROM:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19965 (Build 19965.1.2.3)
Multilingual Support Installed. If you flash this your ROM interface will be in Arabic, you can of course manually change the options to make the interface in English but keep Arabic language support on (Reading/Writing) and you can even disable the multilingual altogether.
Uses (MOBiDIV Multilingual Support Version 3.0 Build 416 Gardenia Package Number: 32)
ROM Version: 2.01.415.3 WWE
ROM Date: 02.23.09
Radio Version: 1.11.25.01
Protocol Version: 52.58.25.30U
ExtPkg Version: 2.1.415.2
Before i post the files , i need to ask the experts which files are safe for me to post here. As in, are there any precautions i have to take i means of a certain ROM has an internal serial/activation on a certain software which may cause problems if i share them? Yes, am totally a noob in flashing WinMo phones, we all start somewhere
The stuff i have are as follows:
Part00.raw
Part01.raw
Part02.raw
Part03.raw
Part00.raw
The below are two ROMs since i created the RUU_Signed.nbh using two methods, after checking their hash, they had different ones, so i publish both :
Using instructions from Here - (Using e,b,space,c,a in RaphaelKitchen.CMD)
Result: RUU_Signed.nbh MD5 Hash: 512ea7b4435b923a3cd6a687eec79dcd
Thanks to jcespi2005
Using instructions from Here - (Using e,b,space,c,b in RaphaelKitchen.CMD)
Result: RUU_Signed.nbh MD5 Hash: 6958d00c322a91b4d679509ae4a9a02f
Thanks to Angelusz
ROM Dump Experts, please inform me which files should i publish. (Again i am asking this in case there is some kind of serial numbers/activation codes...etc). I might at any time switch back to this Stock ROM and would like to have stuff work normally
Now, I'll go ahead with HardSPL and try some cooked ROMs from the lovely chefs here in xda ( Soon, I'll join the kitchen ), any suggestion of a Cooked ROM to try out?
Wont ask what is the best ROM since there is no such thing. Basically, what am looking for is the following:
A ROM with the latest updates and Manila installed
A ROM which would allow me to read/write Arabic after i install some cabs i have my hands on right now
Lots of nice tools and programs that most probably we all use
And of course, something better than this junk slow Stock ROM (Speed / Stability)
Any Suggestions? Am considering: PROven ROM WWE 3.1 21042 out of a fast search on XDA.
Thanks to everyone in the community for making XDA such a wonderful knowledge base for all of us to learn from.

Dear Amnya,
did you buy your phone from UAE? if yes, you don't have to go through this hassle. Just use your S/N on HTC site and get the latest ROM. I'm from Egypt, I have the Egypt Arabic ROM which is a Fiasco as the GPS is disabled. I've been waiting for you for a loooonnnngggg time
By the way, about a nice fast ROm, consider also NRGZ28's Energie ROM ver. 2.0 32609. It is great and Arabic works flawlessly.

Hey mate, am glad you found me then Now regarding the phone, yes i got it from the UAE and it had no Arabic Letters Imprinted on the Keyboard (Which is GREAT).
As for your comment marked in red above, i know this, and i actually flashed my mob with that official stock ROM, the point is that i DO NOT want to stay on this stock rom and want to try using Cooked ROMs and maybe even start cooking my own ROMs for this great community.
But before flashing, i thought I'd better backup my current ROM just in case HTC releases an official windows 6.5 upgrade for free or something, or in case my phone dies and i would need to place things back to factory defaults/updates.
You mentioned that you are using "...the Egypt Arabic ROM which is a Fiasco as the GPS is disabled..." i did not quit understand what you meant there. Why is the GPS disabled? :S Is Fiasco a Cooked ROM that doesn't support GPS?
Cheers, and PS: I am still waiting for experts to assure me on what to exactly upload. Cheers

Would you recommend that Microsoft Voice Commander or the standard one? :S What does that MSVC actually differ? i never used this MSVC.

GPS is banned in Egypt, therefore the HTC original ROM for Egypt is without GPS drivers.
can you by any chance post the HTC ROM you flashed?
MSVC stands for MicroSoft Voice Command. It simply does what it says, commanding the phone by voice, never tried it and couldn't care less. I would recommend the other one: CSVD
You will like the Ferrari, it is great.

I would i just need to understand if i face any OEM/Licencing or anything of that sort if i do publish it. And a small question, wouldn't it help you if i upload or link you to the update that HTC released recently?
And btw, the flash i dumped is an NBH file, how can i create an executable so i only double click when i need to install it?
I do understand that to flash the nbh file i will use the kitchen tools and cab files, but wouldn't it be best if its a simply executable?
If anyone knows about this thing i would appreciate it
Cheers
If you have the latest Raphael Kitchen then in the tools folder you will find an exec file called RaphaelCustomRUU.exe.
Put this in the same folder as your nbh file and run it. Follow the instructions.
This will put the rom on your device.

Serials and activations are only there if you put them there. If you can't remove them then don't include these particular programs. If you look in the SYS or OEM parts of the rom in the kitchen you will see most programs used and if you know what you are doing you can edit or remove them.

Serials and activations are only there if you put them there. If you can't remove them then don't include these particular programs. If you look in the SYS or OEM parts of the rom in the kitchen you will see most programs used and if you know what you are doing you can edit or remove them.

I did not understand the reason for you pointing out i read those two points :S Who said i want to post wares? I was asking about something else. i have a Stock ROM after a hard reset, i did the Flash Dump and got the original ROM off of the phone, then created the new ROM file using those files i extracted from my phone in addition to the RUU file from an HTC ROM.
That produced a file, i am asking, is it safe to upload that file for the public to benefit from? OR would it harm me somehow, one way or another? For example, in the stock rom the Multilingual support by Mobidiv is installed and it never asks for any activation, which from my understanding means that it comes registered with the phone or with the rom, something like that. Now wouldn't me posting that dump here bad for me mobidiv and so on? Or its a safe thing to do?
Thank you

As I understand it CIT MOBIdiv have an agreement with HTC so that for this program you are probably ok to include it. Google Mobidiv and see what is said.
The reason I gave you that reference is that I didn't know which programs you were refering to and if they had been paid for seperately from your phone and therefore would be ware.

PS: Am on the new energy ROM 32609 and DAAAAAAMN! ITS FAST!!!
My first flashing went great and the ROM is wonderful too, what a lucky night
Cheers
Amnya, you can direct me to the link of HTC but to download it I need your S/N on the back of the phone behind the battery (unless you already uploaded it somewhere and have the link). If you don't feel confortable to give the S/N away for any reason, please upload the original ROM. Almost all original ROMs from HTC are here somewhere or another in every forum (links of course) without the slightest problem (legally I mean). And there will be no issues also regarding software copyrights.
Glad that you liked the Energie ROM, enjoy....

Hey mate, will post you the link to the document later on tonight, currently i am at work One problem though, Arabic is NOT supported, so what should i install to make it support reading and writing arabic? Actually am only interested in reading
Can someone post a link to the needed software or update? I tried the ARA_Patch.cab that HTC released then drew back after the latest ROM Update, but it did nothing. So any ideas?
Cheers
My answer to your problem
http://www.4shared.com/dir/18171659/bed506eb/Arabic.html
use these files as follows:
- Copy the files in Arabic folder to your phone any where
- Install each file in main memory in the same sequence as numbered
- Do not restart when any one of the files installing prompts you to do so
- Only restart when finishing the last install
- Thank me plenty

[CUSTOM ROM] Kubino's WM 6.1 clean

I saw on internet chinese ROM WM 6.1 for our Acer S200 . It inspired me to cook WM 6.1 ROM in english. So it is here .
ROM with WM 6.1 run nice - is fast and stable. It is clean ROM based on the newest WM 6.1 build - 21057.
Free RAM after boot WM is 132MB .
Free storage is similar to WM 6.5 - 313MB.
Download: Kubino's WM 6.1 clean
Please do not reupload my ROM. If the link doesn't work, I will reupload it.
Ya-ba-daba-doooooooo! Will test it soon. And where is kitchen? I wish to try some COOKING to build rom with some HTC apps.
I cooked this ROM with kitchen Barin's OSBuilder. If you want, I will send you the kitchen with this ROM.
Kubino, that would be nice.
Thanks, I will try it
Thank you for a nice rom.

Settings > Connections > User name and password is not saved.

Where is not saved user name and password? In Connections are a lot of programs.
Happy as a pig in **** with it so far Kubino, have had a couple of freezes in WMP which is a bit unusual, but the main functionality is very stable and fast, so glad someone saved me the job of trying to do this myself, don't much like 6.5 menu/start/back/multiselect changes.

Thank you for the reply.
I wrote and preserved the user name and password.
However, when I saw the user name and password again, it was empty.
Has anybody else who has used this rom found data not working eg GPRS,HSDPA ?
Kubino, cant integrate NET CF 3.5 to rom it kitchen. I've deleted NET CF 2.0 files and place files of NET CF 3.5 in SYS\Common\NETCF. Now OSBuilder gives error about missing files of NETCF 2.0
How can it be solved?

Yes, I tested today. I didn't test before because I'm not using GPRS/EDGE or 3G/HSDPA. I'm trying fix it. I tried cook ROM based on previous build - 21056 but it has the same problem. Probably the problem is with radio, which acer do for WM 6.5.

Bummer, wonder if the radio from a toshiba TG01 could be used being the same hardware on 6.1 originally ?
hello
is there any fix for data connections.
thank you
Yes, I can't use it because of this, don't have the talent/time to fix it, pity because of the amazing speed on this 6.1 rom.
