Currently working on identifying which parameters are causing the Nike to identify which Keyboard to use. Don't hope that the parameters are deeper in the ROM...
Can somebody with an 16 Keypad version (P5500) look which registry value following key contains:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty\Layout -- my Value: "1033" dec
I am currently using following ROM: US_Niki_6.1_V1.0_s600_touch.dll
If anybody has already clues, please share

I have a 16 key version (P5500) and the value in the registry is: 2052
As I have the problem with the hardware keyboard (20 keys) I just flashed the original rom of O2 germany back and looked at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty\Layout. In the original ROM I have 1031 and in the Tom-Niki-Project-2.1.3 I have 2052 which gives me a 16 key keyboard.
After changing the value from 2052 to 1031 I got back my 20 keys keyboard.

I've tried to change the value to "2052" but it does not give me the 16 Key Layout.
I will try flashing the Tom-Niki-Project ROM.

I am using a XDA1 with WM2003 (by Lumpistefans kitchen ) - it worked fine for months, but yesterday my Clock in the Status-Bar disappeared.
In the Control Panel, i have correct time etc. - but the Windows-Standard-Clock in the Status-Bar is missing.
Any hints?

Try the following Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
Create a Binary key with the name "TBOpt" and fill with "13 00 00 00".
Do a soft reset and hopefully you have Date and Time in your status bar.

0 = no time or date
1 = time
2 = date

i'm just about to flash my pda.. and i'd like to know if what i've done so far is correct:
first af all, my Qtek2020 is German, and the first OS was German. When i upgraded to 1.72.128 ITA i rembember i changed the language by using ER2k3 Edit..
now, i've downloaded SinMerged 1.x and extracted all the files.
then i've opened all of the 3 files (ext rom, radio and rom image) with er2k3edit and changed the "language" field from WWE to GER
i've also edited the field "Operator" and changed from O2 to Qtek
i wonder if it's correct...
Oh PS: btw do you know any program do backup SMSs? thx!
you can check what your qtek is now by running getdevicedata.
just to be sure it is a GER Qtek.

Edit on all three, I never tried otherwise.
some side information :
* All 3 upgrades (nk, radio,ms) have an operator and language which has to be the same as your machine.
* ms has also another operator and language your machine will change into when you upgrade
These are located on offset 74 and 94 in the decrypted MS_.nba

If you don't want to change the operator and language in your machine, for guarantee reasons, you should follow DCS's post about country code error.
Although downgrading to your official rom might also be possible if you modify its headers with ER2003Edit. But sometimes a downgrade is no longer possible before claiming guarantee.

The cabs should work easily as yozgatg described in his thread. But a problem seems to annoy many people, included me, is the error message:

The solution I find out by doing some research on Bing, is:
1. Unlock the Registry on WM by changing:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies
00001001, Dword, 1 (originally is 2, change it to 1)
00001005, Dword, 40 (originally is 16, change it to 40)
2. after step 1, turn off the security warning by changing:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\
0000101a, Dword, 1 (Originally is 0)
After that the problem is solved.
Please note: This solution is only for people who has the right setup of Gen.Y Dualboot. If you see any information like "android is missing", that means your setup has problem.
My device is TP2, Rhod100.

didn't work on my tp2 verizon ?
I am trying to fix the Physical keyboard to have full functionality (smiley and symbol keys). From what I can tell the issue lies in QWERTY.kl which is missing a few lines from the stock ROM

Now I've tried editing the qwerty.kl that comes with Icy Tiramisu with various text editors and when I reboot it's as though the keyboard is not being recognised at all. I've even just added 1 line (key 194 SYM) with the same result.
I've had a look at the fixed HuaweiIME.apk that zenaufa made for this ROM and it seems to contain all the correct elements for the smiley and symbol button to work and from what I can tell the changes to qwerty.kl should work. Can anyone give me any insight into what could be going wrong?
