i am sincerely hoping that one of you would be so kind to do a rom with asian regional settings support. For hongkong & taiwan, the wince.nls is close to 1.2mb. altering this will also requires alteration to the rom.
could any chefs be kind enough to help with this?

i tried xip porting with the large wince.nls, but after flashing, the device just hangs at the bootscreen, my map.txt does not shows any error and everything seems ok while porting, but it just doesn't boot. i hope someone could help me as well on this.

ce-star aint very compatible with some software.
personally, i am using a push email client on my touch pro. if alterating the wince.nls using ce-star or other software, the push email software will somehow behaves strangely. however, if the chinese regional settings are cooked into the rom, or rather the XIP, then everything will be perfect.
we do not need a rom with chinese display support as fonts can be installed by ourselves. but we do need a rom with asian regional settings support as what "imkow" has said.

i think we are trying to do the same thing altho my case is diamond in japanese.
i am facing the same issue. using bebe's kitchen with htc wwe rom as a base, even if i replace the original wince.nls by another wince.nls which supports asian language, the wince.nls in the cooked rom is the original one. i am not sure if it's the issue of rom or the kitchen because i could replace wince.nls in a polaris rom using the same kitchen. but i am not sure if the xip porting function in the bebe's kitchen is really working with this shipped rom somehow...
using kaiser kitchen, i can rebuild the dumped rom with Part01.raw, Part02.raw and the htc wwe rom without any errors, if i burn it on my diamond, it does not boot at all.
any suggestions or helps?

It's kind of hard to do any cooking when no one's uploaded any asian (or Japanese for that matter) roms to base it on. Just putting the wince.nls in a WWE rom won't be enough.
You are right.
It took a whole day work for an Alpha release.
Hope PROven team does not change xip.bin in their next release.

I too don't like Ce-Star, when texting in the middle like some of the characters go off screen. I think t his would be cool too. But is there no way we can mod a current rom?

For display, use korechithai, for input ChinaFEP_No5en. Ignore the other files.
I prefer ruffruff's suggestion to cook a rom include Asian NLS and fonts.
Then you can add IME freely.
If you have a Asian xip.bin, you can cook freely too.

I use the exact same files for my Chinese need. It supports both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Simplified is selected by default. Remember not to turn on ClearType in Landscape for TP due to a bug.

And now you dont need BatFix.
In additional software:
All is standard - Adobe reader, TAO Java, Zip, Camera 3.02 (because this camera driver without battery drain as my 4.03 and higher), MMS 3.5.

I think yes, if you dont change the XIP-section, and yours nba-file have a name "Prophet_17944wwe&rus_k0ster.nba" because this name hardly writed in PagePool-utils.

What is the original ppool size of this rom? Also, when i want the rom english, i just delete all the cabs in extrom? or do i need to replace them with english ones? Rom looks great, i´m kind of bored flashing all thos nice looking touch roms which all have more or less bugs.
Are the common WM6 problems fixed on this rom?
- Missing wifi settings
- Missing bt settings
- Corrupt mail accounts
- Wifi not tuning on all tries

If You want to try ROMs with various pagepools, You can:
1. Download and unpack the attached file into any location on Your PC.
2. Start the PagePool Changer.
3. Select the ROM file (Your RUU_signed.nbh; but - works with OS.nb too).
4. If selected file is valid ROM (pagepool size found), You can change the pagepool size. After that press "Change to" button.
Done. Pagepool size is changed. Flash the ROM and enjoy.
And never download ROMs with different pagepools anymore - don't abuse Internet with unnecessary traffic...

But: for me is more interesting thing - is the algorithm I'd realised Hermes-specific or can be applied to other platforms too?

Must do. The pagepool search/find/change algorithm is the same as for Hermes: description.
ROM file has the same extension (.nbh) as Hermes and can be processed by PagePool Changer easy.
Unfortunately, I don't own the Elf and cannot flash/test ROM myself.

This is a another German ROM for Charmer (MDA II Compact).
Thanks to gullum and vlodeck for the base ROMs and the permission to re-cook.

Also thanks to mschmitz for the idea, the work he put into his German ROM - see this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=331142, for providing the link to the “how-to translate” and for inspiring me to cook the “perfect” ROM (at least for my purposes).
My idea/goal is to gain as much Memory as possible by keeping ROM small as Charmer gets remarkable slower if usable MEM goes below 15MB.
Future Plans:
This ROM: I will try to get it stable and "entirely" German. Thereafter:
New ROM: I plan to cook a slim “base” ROM and let the user decide what to install (e.g. only “Tastatur” installed, rest can be de-installed by user).
This is the first stable version as I did not publish Beta 1 – 2 due to unsolved items (that are solved now in this beta 3).
Now what’s the difference to vlodecks English and mschmitz German ROM:
I implemented “real” German Inputs, so all English versions all DLLs have been removed to save space (e.g. in mschmitz ROM you will have “Keyboard” and “Tastatur” which causes selection troubles).
Input Method Selection therefore does not require “tricks” anymore and works like expected. I anyways included IM Selector (see below).
Following Programs are NOT included in my ROM compared to vlodeck and mschmitz:

If you need VoIP you will find a Folder “Voice over IP” in RAR File. Simply install both cab Files and you have VoIP – will take about 2MB space.

- All German Inputs (removed all english DLLs)
- pBar (new Version 1.5 iso 1.4 like in Vlodecks), good Task manager with battery monitor, etc
- kbdddr.dll (Charmer kbddrv as Vlodeck uses Prophet)
- allblack.tsk: (This is a black Theme which also removes „WM6 Shiny/Glossy bars”, so this is a real flat black theme, e.g. use for iPhone Skin)
- PPCPIMBackup (new Version). Backup your Contacts, Phonelist, SMS, etc..
- IM Selector (You can choose a an input method that is Standard after Soft reboot. Standard is now “Tastatur”)
- Phonepad (Intellipad) GER/ENG only, I removed all other Languages (like Greek to save space)
- wince.nls (exchanged from Prophet Version to Charmer Version – Needed for ActiveSync over MS Exchange Server)
- MMS Templates translated to German
- Icons for Program Folders
- Filedialog changer
- Task Manger by dotfred (including a Registry Editor)

ATTENTION:
It may happen get an error (like: cannot replace file, maybe in use, or similar)after running "Upgrade_ROM.bat".
No worries, in this case copy "EnableRapi.cab" and "Cert_SPCS.cab" to your device if not allready there and install them by clicking on it in File Explorer. Then re-run "Upgrade_ROM.bat" and it should work.
On my Charmer the ROM is stable without any problems. If you crash your device, its YOUR fault and own responsibility.
Please do not ask how to flash a ROM or where to find ROMs or programs, etc in this thread, see links above. If you are not sure what you do, its better not to do it.

ATTENTION – UPGRADE INFORMATION GENERAL and when you flash my ROM for the first time:

Do not forget to Flash back to WM5 before you upgrade from another WM6 Version and read the HOW-TOs!!.
Speicherkarte/Storage Card Info - Wichtig: For System Compatibility to english Versions the "Speicherkarte" is called Storage Card in my ROM (as we often switch/test from english to German versions and v.v).
If you flash from a German WM5 ROM, you might have problems after restoring your personal data as "Speicherkarte" is named "Storage Card" (e.g. Installed Programs, etc.).
To solve this you can edit this registry item:
go to Taskmanager/RegEdit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory] and change "Folder"="Storage Card" to: "Folder"="Speicherkarte".
But be carefull: If everything worked OK for you with "Storage Card" (e.g. you had an english version before) and you rename "Storage Card" to "Speicherkarte" later on, you also have to change all Registry References (Installed Programs, etc.) and Shortcuts to "Speicherkarte"!!
ATTENTION – UPGRADE INFORMATION FROM MY PREVIOUS BETA VERSION 3.0 (3) or 3.1:
(German: ACHTUNG: NUR wenn Du schon mein ROM 3.0 oder 3.1 auf Deinem Gerät hast).

There is one error in this file: When deleteing the COMM Destinations in my file you should go to "HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations" not to "HKCU\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations". This is important, if you have german and english COMM Info, you will have Problems setting up a Connection.

It seems that the 'Touch Cube' doesn't work! The Cube can't be activate by draging from top bar straight to the bottom but sometimes by touching one of the Softbuttons the Cube activates itself!

Just a few things:
Using SKTools 4, I found one wrong link (it is a ROM-File, so no chance for me to correct it): "\Windows\Start Clean.lnk" referes to "\Program Files\Startclean\startclean.exe" instead to "\Windows\StartClean.exe". (see screenshot_1.jpg)
At the "Telefon"-screen there is "Contacts" instead of "Kontakte" (see screenshot_2.jpg) and the "Smart-Dialing-Options" are still non german (see screenshot_3.jpg)
btw: How long did it took you to cook this ROM? I would love to cook my own ROM but i haven't enough time to test, modify, test again, modify again, aso -> so i hope, that you will cook the ultimate german ROM for Charmer!

Thats weird...
Strange.
1) USB Charging: After First use (Hard reset) please go to "\Windows" and Start "XDADev_BatFix.exe". This has to be done only once after Hardreset.
Reset and it will work
2) Will check what happened with Textmessages and try to post a bugfix until next revision.

I experience 2 kind of problems:
E-Mails (push, exchange, pop accounts) show no message body, only headers, recipients & attachments (though u can't open them)...
When retrieving data (mails, internet, active sync) the sessions don't end automatically, u always have to cancel them manually.
Does anyone struggle with the same stuff ?

Don't see a problem with not-self-stopping-sessions! What do you mean exactly? The GPRS/EDGE connection? - IMO they never should end automatically, 'cause you're wasting data-volume (this shouldn't be really a problem) and there's no need for stopping it anyway.

Every 5-10 minutes it starts an internet connection just by itself.
I noticed it in the morning when the data session was like 7 hours or so!
Don't know why...active sync config is :
main time check: every 2 hrs
side time check: manually
GMX Account check: manually

Yes, I know this one. But I keep getting permission error during the Main installation.

After a couple of days try of customization (including 3 hard resets) especially testing different radios, I think my Fuze is stable and work as I expected. Fine tune to optimize battery and other performance issues might be needed but not major. A GREAT ROM.
What I like the most is the OP's integration of Asian support with a WWE ROM. This is the first time my Gmail can read emails with Chinese characters correstly without messing up other features. Before loading this ROM to my phne, I almost decide to give us Gmail as I had to open my computer to read emails received from my Chinese friends.
Also OP's selection of the base ROM is appreciated. IMHO, PROven 1.08 is the most STABLE Touch Pro ROM here. I know this may not be the newest build with all funcy features. However, the fundamental for most of us here is stability as the phone is a tool we use everyday but not a toy (at least not primarily).
I am very grateful to s2k7's effort to make this happen, and hope this release can be continued along with the update with the base ROM even I understand the fact of that the request of C/J/K support over WWE ROM is limited to a small group of users.

I'm using FarEastone customized Touch Pro here in Taiwan and changed settings to Japanese as you have mentioned above. After I installed IME_31J for JP Input, I'm having problem writing Japanese using Hardware Keyboard.
Settings done by PQzII by enabling IME tapping SYM key, however, once I tried to type any letter on the keyboard, the settings returned to English Keyboard.
Software Keyboard is working fine by typing Japanese characters using Romaji input method.
Any idea of how to fix this problem?
I have solved this problem by myself. My Touch Pro is customized for Taiwan's FarEastone. I have found that the Keyboard layout does something for my problem, therefore I changed registry HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\KEYBD\CurLang from 404 (tw Chinese) to 409 (US). I use PQzII to toggle IME (ATOK) and everything seems working OK. お騒がせしました
I am busy now, and hope to give a upgrade on Jan. 21.

Just a flashing 3 languages (0407 (German), 0409 (English), 0419 (Russian)), the default English. And 3 input language.
Screen theme (Sliding Panel & Sliding Panel Media) converted from Rose Sliding Panel's, which made it possible to use HTC Weather.
After the firmware necessary to reboot the device!

I have checked on the package and here are the comments:
The backlight/display driver is not acting according to the settings in the control panel. The display does not get off. The light gets off - but not the LCD. You can see that when you put the display in bright light. When making my kitchen for WM6 I have tried out several different drivers all having one or the other problem and finally decided for the one present there. Please re-check your choice in the light of above problem which creates a big battery drain unfortunately.
The German language is only fractional available. I think that the packages are missing some .provxml files or that these are not read correctly. You can cross-check needed actions for multi-language in my beginners guide for cooking. Especially tracking down the correct execution of .provxml is tricky. There are some threads at XDA dealing with this. I found finally that using the rapiconfig tool on the connected PC sending the files for execution is giving a fast and reliable method for debugging. Search for "provxml" and "rapiconfig".
For my kitchen I had added at the end of each .provxml a registry entry to write to HKLM\Platform with the name of the .provxml as an entry. This way you can check if the file was executed in the first place and then further investigate which was not.
Finally I have seen that the WM65 allows to have skinned menus which complement the sliding panels appearance. Would be good to see that in the WM6.5 ROM as well.

Oh one last thing: You should change your topic title to include "WM 6.5". Not all know that WINCE 5.2.23017 is one internal version of the WM6.5. I think that WM6.x translates to WINCE 5.2.y before that was WM5 with WINCE 5.1.z.

Have you done anything lately to the ROMs? I finished my Typhoon and Tornado porting to OS Builder, so Hurricane is on the list now to have these old candy-bar phones complete on OSB.
When dumping the ROM with OSB, I noticed that you had used the "merge packages" option when assembling it. This makes it harder to get started, though not impossible as I have the XIP to build my own 6.5 (which I used from the Captain for the Tornado).

I think best choose for hurricane is 6.1 =)
It is strange with the backlight. Usually the OEM parts are those that do NOT change in the porting process and so their behavior should also not when the SYS changes.
Problem with the Hurricane is that many OEM modules do not have a relocation section and so can not be properly relocated by some tools. In the batch kitchen I used, the wmreloc.exe could magically do the job nevertheless, probably by making clever general assumptions on the structure of the modules.
When porting Aleut's WM65 for Typhoon to OS Builder I have identified the modules without relocation section (wmreloc writes a special file to the modules folder for those) and "nailed" them to their current location by adding them to the OSB list of "do not relocate" modules.
To be sure that you start with a working set of modules, it is mandatory to start with a dump of such a working device and not a fresh directory setup - where you would rely on the relocation to properly work for ALL modules.
For Typhoon there were just 5 modules without relocation section because there existed a leaked WM5 "dogfood build" for that device. This had all modules including their relocation section. So just the non-Typhoon (Feeler and Amadeus) specific things (keyboard I remember) needed that special treatment.
For the Hurricane I had counted many more such modules and I am not sure if I will ever get a running OSB setup for this. Last time I tried I could not even get my working WM6 setup rebuilt, so this project may find an early ending.
Good news: I got my WM6 build running and re-built with OS Builder. Took some time to discover that the empty boot.rgu from OEMXipKernel package has left out the Launch20=service.exe from the resulting registry, which made the boot stop at that point.
So nailing the OEMDrivers does work here as well - there is hope for more to come here as well

I use your kitchen to create imgfs.bin, then i use imgfs.bin with program nbwork to create os.nb(with uldr.bin xip.bin imgfs.bin) and then use you program xipbin =)
To port wm standard roms, i also tryed 28004, and once it's work, but there is no different =)

And i also rying to poted wm pprofessional on hurricane,it start, but work with some lags, and need to rewrite some oem drivers =)
Why do you need extra tools outside my Hurricane kitchen set? If you put the WM6.5 XIP and Partition framework in the Source folder with the right names then the batch should deliver a ready-made .bin at the and as well.
The easiest way to get back to the one-step batch would be to pick one of your two-step created .nb files, rename it to 82040000-OS.nb and put it to the SOURCE folder.
Batch processing will cut out the pieces and supply the compression for imgfs later - no more two-step.
Last step of the kitchen is basically to joint the new created imgfs with the already ported XIP and ULDR (if present) to a new .nb and then put it to transfer format of the BIN file - transparent blocks with some kB size (not sure if it is64k) and a checksum so that transfer errors can be detected.
Anyway the important part is the creation of the imgfs and especially the correct relocation of modules, something special with the Hurricane and its many modules without reloc section.
You up'ed 2 files, one named "part1.." is there a part 2 also or is this the create_wm6_5?
I guess I will just use the SYS I have for WM61 (from Rose) and WM65 (from Captain) in my Tornado OS Builder kitchen for porting inside OS Builder. This is easier than porting from Batch to OS Builder.
I see no advantage of WM65 over WM61, but all done for the WM61 can be transferred 100% to WM65, so no big deal here. The added functions on WM65 are not worth it:
some memory and CPU hogging browser ad-on
and "widgets" you cannot use on smartphone anyway
and a 1MB bigger SYS with otherwise identical packages
make not up for the option to be able to skin your menus, they just get bigger and making that finger friendly on smartphone is a joke
Sliding panels are in WM61 already (for those who like it) but I have my private homescreen that does all I want on one page and it includes ToDos which the Sliding panels does not.

Why professional - you have touchscreen on Hurricane? Just the 96DPI is nice for more screen estate (smaller top/bottom bars) - but I don't care, really.

BTW: WM6 Kitchen runs full gear and all options - time to port to WM61 and WM65

Some times i get bad roms, with bugs, but when i used nbwork, all roms work good.

I found one advantage WM65 over WM61 that maybe useful for some: WMPlayer shows embedded Album Art in WM65 while it does not in WM61. This includes the art display in the sliding panels Media Panel. I use Conduits PocketPlayer for years so never cared about this.
All OS Builder kitchen run well now (6.0, 6.1-Rose and 6.5-Captain). XIP porting was a little inconsistent across these versions but all startup and reboot without flaws.
Still have to cleanup the package sort order - at least in WM6.5 - and see if A2DP would work well (though it is a CPU hog and I would never recommend it).
Release may happen next weekend -> watch out for a dedicated thread then.
Best with the Hurricane cooking is that you will not have to care about ROM size and balancing with storage space on the device in 1 MB steps like on the Tornado - or be limited to fix size like on the Typhoon. The "l" (load) commend will trigger in the SPL a ROM-size matched formatting of the BINFS (in 64k steps, I guess).
Also "good" is that the device still has a RIL v1, so the Radio ROM is smaller (and less capable) then the Tornado Radio. You will hardly note the difference, however will NITZ (Time setting via GSM Network) not work with this RIL.
Even with 8MB Paging Pool (my default) you have free RAM of ~32MB (Sliding Panels Homescreen) or ~34MB with standard Homescreen. You could make the PP even 10-12 MB here and have the device even more "snappy" with several applications in parallel.

I want also clean rom from FWUpdate, because in our phone it's not used, i some time make experiments with some files and when deleted one(i don't remember what file =((( )and it will free about 3 Mb Ram(on startup 35-36MB with sliding panels with weather =)), but i sometimes think, it's unbeliveble, because when i deleted that file, some system pictures don't work(etc. system notification) =(

No wild deletions, please. FWupdate is removed in the OSB kitchen and only one stub is left in WM6.1+ because otherwise the ROM does not work. Also some other packages are made optional (e.g. SQL mobile) - it so easy making something selectable with OSB (drag + drop), really fun to play with.
The OSB framework has sophisticated tools to analyse the dependencies, so a lot of insight to gain there. If you are curious, download my Tornado OSB Kitchen and do some dry-cooking, the Hurricane will be 98% the same. Also visit the main OSB kitchen thread to get the basic documentation.
