Roundup: Cases that fit the HD - Touch HD Accessories

Hi all,
Until we get some HD specific cases I thought it might be useful to list any iPhone 3g or other device cases/sleeves that fit. If you've used or are using something that is working please post with pics if possible!

Interesting, I was just coming to see if anyone knows if this one would be okay -

Someone said the main difference was the iPhones rounded corners, but this case seems to have space for more square corners... I guess the only concern for me would be if the audio out is still available.

We have already specific HD cases, they're flooded on the ebay and etc, e.g. http://www.pielframa.com/cases_htc_touch_hd.htm I'm planning to buy one from piel frama

Touch HD specific case
I like the carrymobile design: http://www.carrymobile.com/scripts/main/viewitem.php?itemid=O2TOHDLCFT2BK&pdaid=TOHD
PDAir has a couple of nice cases too: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=12404
I'm partial to a vertical case. The PDAair, while an elegant design, uses a "rail" mounting system, leaving the sensitive painted edge of our precious HS's exposed. The Carry Mobile completely covers the painted surfaces.

Krusell
I've just ordered this HD specific case (from ebay) - looks good as the front cover is removable and it is compatible with the Krusell clips (including a car clip - so you don't have to remove it from the cover to mount)
http://www.krusellcases.com/uk/p_krusell_product.aspx?i=175774

I'm planning to diy my own, with thin soft gray leather as lining, foam in between, and thicker red leather for the outside Will start work once I get my grubby paws on the THD this weekend. It should look very like Piel Frama's whole body protection, but the front will be a strip of leather that wraps around the sides, rather than Piel frama's top down approach
ie

When my prototype turns out great and people start raving about it on the internet, and I have a lot of spare time and have a convenient supply of raw materials. Maybe then....
Currently I only have scraps of fake leather, salvaged from old/cheap nothebooks. It's sad.... but the texture of the material feels great, especially the gray leather, so I'm happy

Cases
Noreve HTC Touch HD Tradition
Alu-Leather Case (HTC Touch HD Series) - Flip Type
Leather Case for HTC Touch HD with belt clip (Flip Type)
Skin Case Cover for HTC Touch-HD
Leather Case Cover for HTC Touch-HD
Black Leather Case Skin Cover Pouch HTC Touch HD
Brando HTC Touch HD Silicone Case

Does any one know if any of these will fit the HD:
http://www.beyzacases.com/pd_apple_iphone_3g_slimline_-_vsl20_vertical_leather_case_black.cfm
or this
http://www.beyzacases.com/pd-apple-iphone-3g-roadline-slim-vertical-leather-case-black.cfm

The Slimline doesn´t fit.

Is the carrymobile a legit site? I cant find out where they are from. Has anyone ordered from them?

I just ordered a brando crystal case that looks good on the available pictures.
http://shop.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03001&dept_id=004&cat_id=0003

^the case looks nice...but this crystal plastic....will it scratch the body of the phone...I mean It will leave marks specially at the side where the case is folding...and on the glossy shiny side of the phone....
What do you guys say?

I had one of those clear plastic shells on my N95. It did make the phone somewhat larger and dust got between it and the phone making it look really ugly. It didn't scratch the phone, but id worry about the painted areas of the Touch HD. I wouldnt use one.

I found more than one site reviewing Carrymobiles products - here's an example: http://gadgetmix.com/index/?p=771
Reseller ratings doesn't have a listing for them, but they usually are more for electronics and computer online stores.
I'm still thinking over my options, but I believe the Carrymobile to be a legitimate manufacturer and the site trustworthy for purchases. Just my opinion.

I'll just put in a recommendation for the Krusell Hector case. It's for the iPhone but it fits the Touch HD perfectly. It's also quite slim and comfortable to have on the belt, and it has a cutout underneath so pushing the HD up and into your hand is pretty easy. Also has two really strong belt loops, nobody's gonna yank the case off your belt without yanking the belt and your pants probably with it.
If you put the HD in it with the screen out, you can even have it in the case and listen to music via the 3.5 mm headphone plug, the port is nicely exposed. Usually I carry mine screen-in though.
http://www.krusell.se/product/3563

That krusell hector case... why does it have 2 sizes to choose from Iphone and Meizu M8?

Case Recommendations

Anyone recommend a good case that doesnt bloat the phone out but is still a good case that you can use the phone without having to remove it from the case. Did that make sense?? not sure
Anyway there doesnt seem to be many cases available yet so i guess wizard users can recommend a manufacturer and style that i can keep an eye out for to see if they release a TyTn case
Cheers
Chris
iPod socks
I am using an ipod sock to protect my TyTN. It fits perfectly inside and I can put it on my pocket. IMHO the shipped leather case with magnets bloats the phone too much and I can't put it on my pocket, also I don't like magnets near my device

Cute socks!
I must say that the leather case that came with the TyTN is probably the best bundled case I've ever had. I'm still going to replace it for all-sides protection, but at least I can feel good about using it in the meantime....
I don't think its real leather. more like faux leather to me. doesn't have that nice smell to it.
I sent an email to SENA to ask if they will be making a case for the TyTN soon. They replied that if the TyTN becomes popular in the US, they will consider it!
I have one from them for the BA and it is beautifully made.
Proporta are doing a flip and book case for the TyTn HERE.
Unfortunately there's no image. But 4winmobile have a review and loads of piuctures of the same case for the Wizard HERE
I would think it'd be the same bar slightly different sizing.
Noreve should be releasing one today ... personally I think it will slip.
I have one of theirs for my Archos 5100 which is superb. My only concern is that their 9100 case and Krussells have not protection for the bottom corners.
The second generation 9100 case from Piel Frama (Expansys rebrand as Chairmans) was superb and did protect the whole device. Piel Frama tell me they are waiting for a device to use to design the case.
Fingers crossed.
Paul.
Best case
I'm using the belt clip leather case that I used to use with my Treo 650.
This is an old model that had no magnets (that cause troube) with credit cards and so.
And it fit's just right.
I don't know if this is still available, i tried to find it on the palm's site and I cousd not find it.
I don't mind the leather case somewhat bloating out, however, I am bias to a leather case with the "opening/flap" on the vertical topside rather than on the horizontal long side. This is because as I place the phone back in the horizontal case, the slider opens more often causing the slider to get "loose" as time draws by. However, i do require a swivel mechanism on the leather case because i prefer it to be against my belt in a horizontal position while having the opening/flap on the vertical end. Unfortunately, the swivel mechanism breaks easily after 3-4 months of use and i wish there was a horizontal case with a permanent clip and a vertical end opening/flap.
I have a wizard and I bought a Krusell Cabriolet. I absolutely love it because it allows me quick access to my device and doesn't weigh much and isn't bulky.
I ummed and aaahed about a case for a long time because none on the market could properly handle the keyboard. Eventually I got tired of waiting and even though I have to remove the Wizard from my Cabriolet to use the keyboard, this only takes a few seconds. There is still nothing on the market that handles the keyboard, so don't hold your breath.
I've now also ordered the carholdikit accessory so I can clip it into my car quickly and use my wizard with a GPS for sat nav.
If you want a low profile case which provides the minimum of protection yet still gives you access, this is the best one around.
I can't be sure it will fit the TyTn, but because the tytn is longer, not wider, it should be OK. Also, the cabriolet has no protection on the top, so out of the cases reviewed below, it's the most likely to suit a TyTn.

I have the same (booklet type instead of topflip), you can order is directly from PDAIR on http://www.pdair.com/catalog/index.php and shipping is free.
Great case :!:
I use the Berghaus GPS Case for mine - it's very robust.

Sorry about the long url...
Cheers David
Currently using my old P900 case which is the Krusell 'Dynamic' model, fits the phone perfectly but the button holes are in the wrong places so I have to take it out of the case to use it - if only Krusell would make a version for the TyTn.
Looking for an alternative I found this one at IDS in Hong Kong which looks quite good.
At $25.00 USD including free delivery I thought I'd give it a try, it should arrive later this week.
They also do a Gel Skin just in case thats what anyone's looking for...
Update:
I received the case and have posted a more in depth review here

Thanks for that. Giving both of these a try (ordering as we speak), as they are exactly what I've been waiting for.
Nice! I've just ordered a gel skin for my TyTN 8)
Yeah that IDS one looks brilliant. Let us know how you get on with it, as i'll probably order one on your reviews.
If you want to go vertical, the RIM brand Leather Swivel Holster for 8700 Blackberry Series fits and works very well with the TyTN. I had been using it with the S200 for awhile. With the S200 it was little loose, but not too much so. With the TyTN it fits like it was custom made for it. I would point out that mine is well broken in from use. The cover wraps over the top of the unit and attaches with a very secure magnetic snap. I like the vertical case as it takes less space up on your belt. There is a ratcheting swivel that lets the unit move on your belt as needed but does not spin freely.
It is very well made and lined in some type of soft velvet like material. It holds the TyTN very securely. To take it out of the case, you can either give a slight push up from the open corners on the bottom of the case or you can take it out by grabbing it on the top at the two cutouts on both sides of the case. It has a well constructed built-in belt clip that securely will hold it on you belt without a lot of worry about falling off. It is constructed in a manner that keeps the case close to your belt and doesn't stickout excessively as may of the swivel cases do.
I got the case at an airport shop but found this link where it is on sale right now for $21.99 not including shipping:
http://www.blackberrysource.com/store/catalog.asp?item=285
I have had a lot of cases over the years including some high end models. For the money, I consider this to be one of the best that I have purchased.

God those are ugly. Why would one go out of ones way to buy a beautiful device and the stick that on it?
what would you guys recommend as a decent protective yet slimline case for this device, preferably allow you to use the device whilst it's in the case. I've ordered the D2 but am deciding on what case to get

Invisishield
Wouldn't invisishield still require a case? It looks like the screen would still be very susceptible to dings, etc. that would kill the handwriting recognition.
I ended up ordering this:
http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=138216
and one of the silicone skins above. Got the leather case on me now. Pretty nice and a tight fit. Right side of it covers the end call button a bit but other than that it's all right. Would prefer if the leather was a bit thinner on the screen as it feels like it's recessed now. Regardless of that though I can still hit everything I want to on the screen so that's fine. The flip lid is hard and solid (must have thick card or something in it) so the screen is protected easily when it's shut. Also comes with space for memory cards and other plastic cards. Supplied with a removable screw on belt clip too! Doesn't add much bulk or weight to the phone and slips in nicely into my jeans pockets.
The best silicon cases are made by Capdase. I got my case for my HD a month ago. I checked, they don't have any yet but I am sure it will be available soon. What I will do is get a cheap replacement for now and wait for Capdase to come out with one. The one I have is non slippary and dust proof and and and it slips into my pocket nicely. Other silicon cases sticks to cloths and it's hard to get out of your pocket. It's not cheap, mine cost around $80 HKD which is around 6.50 GBP or 8 Euros. Hope this helps.

Nope.. I had one protecting my Diamond for 7 months... didnt effect ANYTHING. I dropped it a few times as well.
The IS is indeed very good
I have only seen it on a number if iPhones but it is as strong as they claim
We even tried the compass/knife test and scratched the hell out of it...or so we thought
It's very durable and did not damage the phone at all - Only downside is by the time it comes out (unless it is already), we'll all probably have a few light markings on it - no matter how well we keep it.
Something to note is the TD1 had a horrible procedure to apply it because of its curves/or lack of them ... I feel the TD2 will be much easier but lets see
Received my silicone case from xell_uk today ordered on the 30th April. Have to say it's a lot better than I thought it would be! Fits the D2 perfectly. Nice sized cut outs so you can easily access the ports and stylus and is snug and secure. Buttons are slightly more accessable as well compared to the other leather case I ordered. Device does look quite neat in this jacket too!

I've ordered my IS. Should arrive in a few days. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I don't get it. Isn't the screen the most important part of the device? Why protect the back and sides only?
Can someone recommend a solution to this?
FYI all: I got the silicone case, and it DOESN'T fit perfectly around the device. On the left the case is a bit loose, so you can see the device peeking... this can be seen in pictures of the silicone casing everywhere. So be aware...

Best Buy now has Rocket Fish leather folio cases. $50. No place to put pen.

I figure they decided we're used to getting hosed on the pen and on price.

I had to ask for them; they weren't yet on the shelves, but they are in stock, at least at my Best Buy.
Hardshell and Folio
I bought both today, but I figure I will just stick to the Folio case, see as the hardshell seems kinda pointless overall for my tablet. The Folio seems to fold into a stand, however mine didn't sit too well, I have a few photos but I hit my limit on upload I can post more if you need!
Edit: The Folio in Landscape kind of prevents pen button access, I dunno if this is just the way mine is cut or what...
Hmm. The way it rests in mime, pen access is unobstructed.
Saw from the other thread, that there are cutouts for speakers and camera. Also just noticed from the title, no place for the pen.
For $50 and no pen holder, I'm happy I didn't waite and got the Platinum case for the Galaxy tab for $15 cheaper. Does the same thing, with the stand, etc. Just a couple of easy modifications with sicsors and a hole punch.

So does your Flyer fit in your folio case with the hard shell on also because I have a tpu case on my flyer and I want to keep it on but hope to still be able to fit it in the folio case?
Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using XDA Premium App
Doesn't fit
Yeah vj092887 it does not seem to fit with the hardshell attached although I didn't really push very hard to get it into the folio when it had the shell on...
I have both of the RocketFish cases and I would not recommend putting the tablet in the leather case with the hard shell attached since it is too large and would likely stretch out the leather.
Warning about the RocketFish hard case. I removed it to add a microSD card and it was scuffing the aluminum on the Flyer. No scratches, but some aluminum shavings did come off. Although the aluminum is pretty to look at, it scuffs and scratches very easily. I honestly prefer the more resilient plastic, like on the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
I used the leather case from them and noticed it messed up my Xagg shield... so I had Best Buy replace the shield. I returned the case and got the zip up case that fits the 7" tablets. Much better! I -may- spend the $29 for the hardcase if I notice a scratch or two on the back.
-- Insert 2 cents here --
Looks similar to the Targus Truss case for Playbook. That has no hole for camera (but I don't use anyway) but does have pen holder. The Targus case just needs a strip of Styrofoam from the packing cut and inserted for the Flyer to fit in nice and tight.
I found this today http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0055EPO8O/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/183-0174799-8151867
Price is reasonable but I don't know how this fares to the rocketfish since I won't have my view until this friday.

No speaker holes or pen holder?
I have a journel case that has the HTC logo on the front... (got it off ebay for $44.39 AUD / $47.63 USD - expansys AU now stock it for cheeper here) not entirely sure if it is an official HTC case ... but:
The build quality is great
Fits really well
It has a place for the pen
It looks good and is barely bigger than the flyer
It has magnetic clips
It has a place for the pen
I have been using it for about a month and it doesn't seem to mark the flyer (unlike the rocket fish case)
Here is a pic of it from the net:
I will post some more of mine if you guys want

Also the only thing missing is holes for the speakers ... and i actually don't think it needs them - the sound is still great - crisp and loud!

Too bad when you stand the case up it doesn't rotate to landscape because it only has one landscape mode not upside down landscape

Slimmest Folio Case for the transformer prime

I've looked through various threads trying to find an answer to this one:
which is the thinnest available folio case (one which converts to a stand for multiple viewing angles) for the Transformer Prime?
One of the driving factors in getting this tablet over the competition is its thinness, so the slimmest case would be ideal for a lot of people out there to show off how amazing this tablet really is.
So far it seems the slimmest folio cases are (based on my research, please add more to the list):
Moko Slim Cover Case with Stand
MiniSuit Case
Poetic Case
All 3 of which are very similar!
Lets make a comparison of some REAL technical data on the available folio/folding cases out in the market.
Could I ask those of you which own any of these cases to take a measurement of the total thickness of the tablet+case when in closed position?
I'll update this post with the measurements so we can start comparing them, and hopefully we can get a good guide going for this type of case. I'll also add hyperlinks and feature sets, so please chime in with any differing features - eg. magnetic locking, velcrove locking, clip locking, tablet requires to be unhooked from the bottom case clips to go into the 'standing' mode etc.
If you really want a thin case, a folio case isn't what you're looking for!
I have the BluRex case, and like it. I prefer the way it attaches the Transformer Prime to the case, using corner clips, covered in material to protect the screen, to the way other cases have a sleeve, which, once the Prime is inserted, covers up a large portion of the screen.
That being said, any folio case will add more then double to the thickness of the TP. A video reviewer of one of these cases (perhaps the BluRex, don't remember) used nickles to measure the Transformer Prime (4 nickels in thickness) compared to the TP with case on (10 nickels).
I'm waiting for one of the cases in this thread to be released!
Check out this video, if you want a very thin case!
Considering the Transformer Prime has Gorilla Glass, I'm not that worried about the screen breaking (although, there have been some people who's screen has cracked).
I'm somewhat worried about scratches, as I've read of people who's TP has a scratch or two on the screen, so I'm getting a screen protector (also hate how much fingerprints show up on the Prime).
I figure with a screen protector, and a thin, snap on clear plastic case to protect the back spun metal aluminum back of the Prime, I should be set.
Sorry... don't have tools to accurately measure the BluRex case.
Check out the Great Shield series as well. Very slim folio very similar to the minisuit or blurex listed above.

Looks exactly like my BleRex case.
I like it, and it's fine for now, but I really think I want a case that's thinner then the BluRex (Great Shield) case.
I wish the BobJGear cases were available, but I guess I have to wait if I want one of those. The other case I've thought about is the GumDrop case. They provide outstanding protection not only for the metal back, but also for the display, but I'm sure they're on the heavier, thicker side.
The thinnest case you can get is most likely the Asus TranSleeve. Not quite a folio though, but there doesn't seem to be any super thin folio cases like the ones for the HP TouchPad or the iPads. I know there's a thread in this subforum where a member is working on prototyping some thin case designs.
This one has been the lightest and slimmest case for me. It's made from microfiber and therefore doesn't add too much bulk to my Prime. It's great for carrying around the tablet without the dock...

What's the skin/case in the video? I love it.

The Sikai case is the thinnest folio-style case available for the Transformer Prime. The material of the case is about 2mm thick on each side of the tablet, and another 2mm for the cover so in total it adds about 6mm of thickness to your tablet. When closed the total tablet + case is about 13mm thick.

I bought one of these and it is pretty nice.
Some of its benefits are the thinness I mentioned, the fact that the cover stays closed magnetically, it has a loop to hold a stylus, and the cover props the Prime up into different positions for viewing/typing.
For me the biggest benefit is that it doesn't look like leather of fake leather, it has a nice dark grey (almost black) matte finish and doesn't feel at all slippery in the hand. It also has nice cutouts for all of the Prime's camera and ports, even the reset hole.

You can read about it in this thread:
UPDATED 4/24: Custom, thin, snap on case
Not yet available, but it looks like it's going to be a sweet case (well, actually two sweet cases. I believe there are two gents both working on producing a clear, plastic snap-on case for the Transformer Prime!

I am the creator of the case in the video. (sorry for the constant spinning of the tablet in the video. It was just a teaser of my prototype.)
Thanks for the words of encouragement ShelW. I've been working on the idea since January and have started a small company to that end. I do hope to also make a "smartcover" like cover/stand for the front of the Prime. However, since Theledman spoke up a few weeks ago about the hardshell part of the case. I figured it best to toss my hat in the ring before things took off.
With things moving so quick on the other thread, I haven't had time to troll the rest of the forum. But I'm glad to see that I've got loyal followers spreading the word for me. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress.
if you're looking for a thin case, i got one that's identical to the one in the link as a gift.

Sikai TF300 silicone case - review with pics

Ordered from China - I was thinking about importing more for other devices and selling them on if they were good enough, as there's an absence of silicone cases on the market here.
So, it comes in a rather nice plastic sleeve with Sikai all over it, and a very inspirational slogan: "Design originates from life. Specialization achieves quality." All good so far! I'm more impressed than I expected to be. Except with the slogan. It's not inspirational.

So I open up the sleeve. Immediately notice a really acrid rubber smell, even a few feet from the case. It's horrendous. It smells like there's been a friction fire in a condom factory. I've smelled more pleasant things coming out of my cat. You might expect this to be just the new rubber smell, but a rinse off doesn't get rid of it. No, this smell is here to stay. This certainly isn't the food grade material you get on some others. You'd be lucky to live if you ate anything off this.
Not that these things are designed for having lunch off, of course - but there's a trend today away from caustic rubber smells, BPA and parabens, and this doesn't try to follow. I wouldn't want any of the small things in my house chewing on this.
The smell is more bearable after a while. It's probably destroying my nose hairs. Okay, front view.
It looks okay. So some parts of it do take a big nod toward quality. The feel of the case is nice - the textured cover certainly won't be slipping out of your hands, and it's reasonably thick. The logo imprinted inside the case is a nice touch, too - that little extra bit, even though it's basically just a bit of blown rubber, adds to the overall impression of it.
The holes for peripherals, sensors and the cameras are nice, too - there's no spare silicone hanging off the holes, and overall it's really well made.
The back is just as nice. That textured feel is present all the way around. The Sikai logo is nicely imprinted - the detail is good. Overall, having a good feeling about it.
Okay, let's slide in the TF300T...
It goes in easily. Probably slightly too easily - after literally no struggle at all, the pad is in the case. And here's where the problems start.
Although the case fits snugly around the back, with all the holes matching up to the ports and sensors, around the front it's a different story. The front camera holes and sensors don't fit snugly - they're a few mm from the case holes, so that renders the front camera useless. You end up just seeing the ill-fitting case. All around the front of the case, the poor fit is the same:
But the holes fit nicely around the rest of the case: there isn't a mismatched hole, everything fits in and the volume buttons are taken care of nicely. They work very well.
However, leaving it on for a while, the deficiencies become apparent. That smell is back every time you get close to the tablet. Naturally, you may as well forget about using your front camera, too: it fits so poorly that it's entirely obscured by the case unless you hold it down to the glass. And the case starts to pick up the smallest of dust particles - not only that, but they stick to the case like... well, like the bad smell that the case also came with. They're a nightmare to get rid of. You're not cleaning this one in a hurry. And when you do clean it, it's going to get filthy again really quickly.
Alright, this is the black one - and we all know that black things show the dirt more. But the textured cover, while very impressive and grippy, just serves to attract dirt that gets stuck in the textures.
Not a great case - those fundamental flaws are the smell, the way dirt gets lodged in there and the extremely poor fit. "Specialization achieves quality"? It clearly doesn't. I think this is going in the bin - unless I find out a way to shrink it onto the pad, and then spray it with Febreeze every day.
Check this post out. I bought a silicone case off EBay that fits perfectly. Also, no acrid smell either. I have also listed my other purchases for my tablet in this post. The only thing missing is the dock. I just got it the other day from Office Depot. The manager even matched the price Walmart had online. I paid $119 for the dock.

Interesting. I was looking at a folding case instead. Something that's very similar to the first one - does the tablet fit pretty snugly?
Either that or a revolving one. They're just bulky, though. Kinda defeats the point of a thin and light tablet.

Oh yes, It fits the tab perfectly and I'm actually very impressed with it. Now that I've gone and bought a dock, I won't be using it as much as I would like.
I just bought a Poetic leather case for the dock and keyboard. According to the details and the reviews, it's all real leather and not the PU leather a lot of the cases are made of. I'll have it the first or second week of January and post a review for it.
Here's a link for it.
