*FIXED* Data won't work after new DCD rom (alltel) - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I just want to start off by saying I have searched this site and google for all I'm worth and tried anything and everything to no avail.
I installed radio 3.42.50 and the new dcd rom (3.3.4) as well as the alltel carrier cab. I updated my prl. The phone, texting, gps, and wifi operate flawlessly but I cannot connect usind EVDO. Its set to connect to #777 username: [email protected], password: alltel, and domain: blank. I love this rom. I installed it mostly for the performance boost and gps. I really dont want to have to go back to the crap OEM alltel rom but I need my data connection. Anyone have any ideas?
UPDATE:
I'm retarded I forgot to update my MDN number after I installed dcd. Everything works flawlessly now.

I believe the username is just your phone number with no password or domain.

Not sure about Altel, but USCC uses 2 different logins and passwords, one for 1X and one for EVDO. The EVDO one is labeled HDR something. And in our case it's the [email protected] and ESN is the password, both in HEX not DEC.
Double check you have the correct info in both of your logins and if you do, try changing the HDR one to your [email protected] (whatever domain your other is using) and HEXESN as the password.

Sprint uses #777 with no username or password, all of the pertinant information is pre-provisioned

Flash stock alltel rom: http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=63&act=all
Flash olipro 2.4
Flash DCD 3.3.4
Install Alltel Carrier Cab below.
*228 opt. 3 even if activation doesn't appear necessary.

Sprint Mogul with Custel 1.1 wont connect to Powervision?

i just updated my old sprint rom wit the custel 1.1 and my powervision isn't working. keeps dialing to #777 and gives me an unknown error. i'm on sprint but it keep saying alltel wireless even though i keep deleting it.
does anybody know how to fix this. I checked the mdn and msid and they were correct for my phone.
my radio version is 1.32
It's okay that it says Alltel, cause it will dial #777 on Sprint's network.
The fix for this issue, for me, was entering my PowerVision username and password in the connection settings.

Alltel HTC PPC 6800 ROM **where are the experts??**

I have Alltel and have been trying NexVision's ROM, the DCD and and and, pretty much everything I could find.
Running the 3.27.00 Radio ROM and tried a lot of ROMS of the WM 6.1 ones
I cant get any of them working right!!
I dont seem to get any success after flashing connecting to the Internet and also constantly have the roaming indicator on (that triangle on the top).
Also it changed my MSC/SPC or whatever you call it from 000000 to something else which makes it impossible for me to use the *228 to update roaming and PRL via their automated telephone thing.
Now my question is,
which is the best working ROM for the Titan on alltel? Especially how do I get the thing to connect to the Internet again???
how do I get the Titan connected to QPST in order for me to change the SPC back to 000000?????
I appreciate any help, this forum is so helpful and such great work you guys!!!!!
keep it up!!!!

It sounds like you let the Sprint customizations run. Sound about right?
Here's what I had to do after the Sprint customizations locked me out of the PST:

I flashed back to the stock VZW ROM (third time I think), I made sure all of my provisioning issues with Verizon were worked out (finally had the tech "kick the switch").
1) Then I proceeded to load the 2.4 bootloader,
2) then the 3.16 Unauthorized Sprint ROM w/ radio,
3) then finally installed a cooked DCD 2.3.2 ROM.
Things to note:
1) I never let the Sprint ROM boot up
2) I had no signal so ran *22802 then hit End as soon as it connected
3) Still no signal after reboot
4) No A key, MSID, or MDN issues, but I did re-enter the MSID and MDN as discussed in other threads
5) After re-entering MSID and MDN then after reboot I had signal
6) never had to run *228 to OTA program (in the past programming with *228 has reversed the effect of re-entering the MSID and MDN)
In general, I feel that the OTA from VZW sends down some programming that conflicts with the 3.27 radio...but I have nothing to prove that.
GPS is running great (I just loaded the AstroGPSLauncher)
Not sure about Rev A. It does seem snappy. What's a good site to test from the phone?
I'm happy and not re-flashing until a solid radio for Verizon arrives.

that all worked for you on Verozon, but I got alltel!!!
i still want to know how to change my MSC SPC, the Master Code back to 000000
and also what would you recommend is the best ROM that works for ALLTEL and also has the internet working.
I did all the MSID and MSN entering by hand.
I do get service for text messaging and Phone service as well.
i cannot get access to the internet, and also am constantly roaming. thats my issues
I have Alltel and DCD's 1.7.x ROMS are GREAT! No GPS but I don't need it.
you have a link to the ROMs??

I have Alltel PPC6800 and I am running Radio 3.27 and DCD2.3.2 just fine. Download the kitchen and run it. Alfter everything is installed then dial the *228 and pick option 3 for new phone. That will update all the settings you need.
Here is all the stuff you need. Pick which alltel rom you want. I know they all work good, some have more features.

jamesfelarca:To change the PRL you can put ##775 in the dial pad and send. Then enter the 000000 for the unlock code and select update PRL ->Menu->Edit and select the current PRL (probably a good idea to have this on your memory card) http://www.corolada.com/prl/ The one you want is 30031. Also you may want to do the ##778 unlock code 000000 and then check the NAM settings MDN and MSID should be your 10 digit number.

A) What my instructions help with is flashing a Sprint ROM to a non-Sprint phone
B) My instructions show you the only way I've ever seen how to remove the MSL from the phone.
So if you want your phone to work correctly, I suggest you give it a try. Your mistake was letting the Sprint customizations run....as far as I know, that is not easily reversible.

Based on my experience, reflashing the ROM doesn't remove the MSL lock applied by the Sprint ROM. That's why I reverted to the stock bootloader and ROM/Radio.

Glad it works for you. I had problems with the radio. I was only receiving about 2/3 of sent SMS and OfficeSync did not update properly.
Here is a link to DCD's 1.7.0 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372853
I used the kitchen and it works very well for me.
i have alltel and update my ppc6800 fine all i had to do to remove the indicator icon was to do *228 option 3 wich is activate.

I'm not sure how to change the MCL back to 000000 but if you haven't already you should be able to use GetSPC to obtain the code for your device. Once you're in EPST check your Home SID to make sure this is correct. If not there's a good chance you'll be roaming all the time. Also make sure you have the newest PRL (*228 Option 2)
For your internet connection, check EPST Security and M.IP Default Profile and make sure your NAI and UserIDs are set to your phone number @alltel.net and your AAA shared secret and PPP Password should be "alltel" without the ". Your HDR AN AUTH Password should be your ESN (Hex).
I recommend dcd 2.32 also. It's what I'm using and it's working great.
Sounds like everyone else covered the how to's... but before you try anything else you might want to wait for DCD's new kitchen which will work with the official radio released for Sprint today.
Roaming Order
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the order of carriers my phone tries to roam to?
I have Alltel and apparently Sprint is at the top of there list. I live in an area where Sprint service sucks and there is no EVDO, but the Sprint tower is just close enough to be seen so I never get onto the Verizon Towers. I would like to set my Roaming order to be Verizon first then Sprint etc...
Thanks,
mr.ellsworth

I'm stuck in boot screen (updating ROM)

I've since solved my boot screen issue. I've installed :
dcd 3.2.5
Titan_Radio_ROM_3.42.30
dcd USCC Carrier 20080801
I have no data connection, I deleted it says my username and password are incorrect. I've tried every combination of my 10digit number and uss.net that I can think of. I've also reinstalled the uscc carrier cab, did the *228 and a soft reset. I can connect for 2 kilobyts then after that I can't connect. I'm not finding much on these forums to help me out. Does anyone have any ideas?
additional info
Sorry, the phone is a USCC 6800
hey just to let you know I have the 6900 and I dial #777 not sure if u wanna try that
I've had the same problem everytime I change ROMS. I have Verizon and found after I've "activated" the phone using the *228 then option 1, I then do *228 and option 2 (update my roaming capabilitys). That has always enabled my data connection.

If that doesnt work and you have an old cell phone around you can swap the ESN's on VZW's web site under customer service. When you do this you reset all the security information for the handset. I find this way to be the quickest method that has never failed. I use it so much I have the other ESN almost memorized!~

Run EPST and make sure that your PPP user name and password in there are correct.
If you didn't back up your phone's programming with QPST before and after flashing there is a chance that your EPST information is corrupt which would cause data to not work.
You will need your SPC/MSL in order to access EPST. You can try 000000 if nothing else works, and if it is 000000, you will need to set it back to the correct SPC/MSL otherwise *228 won't properly update your phone. Also USCC doesn't offer an option 1 or 2 after dialing *228, they don't have an OTA reprogramming of their phone.
If those changes don't work, you can try posting your entire EPST on here (removing any personal info, i.e. phone #, ESN, etc) and one of us USCC folks can compare it to ours and let you know what other areas look corrupt.
This is the one downside to USCC customers, we have to take extra steps while programming our phones to get them up and running, luckily it's a one time thing, once the phone is flashed the first time, these settings stick.

EVDO - Can not connect

I did the Titan GPS Fix (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanGpsFix) and shortly after making the changes I noticed that I will not connect to EVDO, just 1X. I don't think the changes I made would affect this, but maybe something else inadvertently got changed in QPST, so i loaded the file that I saved before the changes and wrote to the phone. Still no EVDO.
I did a hard reset, reflashed Radio and ROM and reloaded carrier cab. I had USCC reset my EVDO info and changed the ESN to another phone for a while...still no EVDO.
ROM: dcd 3.2.6
RADIO: 3.42.50
Carrier: USCC
EPST Security Settings:
HDR AN AUTH User Id: [email protected] uscc.net
HDR AN AUTH password: ESN
PPP User Id: [email protected] uscc.net
PPP password: MIN
One thing I noticed is that under the M.IP Default Profile, 'HA Shared Secret' and 'AAA Shared Secret' has weird characters (no readable text) in the settings field.
Anybody have any suggetions?
You try to reactivate it?
What do you mean by reactivate it?
I called USCC and they said everything looks correct, they also said they will reset the settings. I also did *228 to update the PRL.

I will give that a shot. How long should I keep the old phone active?
Long enough to do your *228 stuff.. make a phone call... and connect to the internet.
Make sure your 6800 is at least in Flight mode if not have the batter pulled.
Once that's all done... then re-activate the new phone.

I activated an old phone, made a phone call, data connection and *228 and I got EVDO. I re-activated the 6800, made a phone call, data connection and *228 and still no EVDO.
I noticed in DEBUG mode on the HDR list, it shows AN/AA authentication shows 2=failed authentication.
I'm guessing it has to be something with the phone.
Any other suggestions?

did you put the username and password under settings... connections... connections... manage existing connection... ?
user: #phone#@vzw3g.com
pass: vzw
Also, if you open QPST and look at EFS explorerer... is the DMU.Key file in the DMU folder?
Edit: Also, where you have Hashed letters in those 2 fields in EPST... clear them. Then do your normal *228 to reprogram the phone.

This is a US Cellular phone. I have user: phone#@uscc.net and the password is phone#.
In EFS explorer I have 2 files in the DMU folder. 10.key and 41.key
I deleted the hashed letters and did the *228.
Still can connect on 1X, but not EVDO.

duh... I knew that... just old habit with VZW. LOL.
hmm... not sure what the 41.key is. must be a USCC thing. Somebody on USCC needs to chime in with their settings in EPST.
I'd love to except we don't have EVDO in my town....

Sprint Mogul flashed for Alltel questions

I flashed a Mogul with the Radio 3.42.50 and the latest Titan reloaded M2d ROM with the Alltel carrier cab. I got the MDN, MSID and HOME SID and punched those in using ##778. I can make calls and such but when I try to use *228 it says that I need to authenticate the phone and when I try it won't. It still says Digital Roaming on the main screen. Is there something that I forgot to punch in? I also used QPST to add the aGPS settings.
Any ideas?
So no one out there might have an idea what I missed in the PST settings.
Or is this a "convince Alltel to get the right settings in the phone" game?
