here is the situation i'm in:
i tried to upgrade my HTC Touch Dual with an HTC Touch official ROM ,i prosed with the operation but it did not complete for an error then my phone was stuck on the three colors Screen after that I've reseted the phone ( hard reset ) by pressing the call ,end call ,power and reset buttons all together and here...i realized that i made a disaster because that my phone is not starting and make no response on the screen and it's totally black and when i connect it to the PC ,the indicator light led torn's red!!! and the PC dose not see it i tried to hard reset it again it didn't work.
Please help me ....

hey m8 i had this problem b4 also i just ran a different rom whilst it was in the tri colour screen and it was all up and working again.

Thank's 4 the fast response bro but the problem that is when i flashed the phone with wrong ROM i had the tri color screen but after that i hard reseted the phone as i described above and the phone went died and red lid light indicator on USB cable.

have you tried to enter the bootloader?
yes i did if it mean's pressing the camera and the reset button together but i learned this method in an HTC Touch thread replay so if it's the same (pressing the camera button and the reset button by the styles) it means that I've also tried it and did not work. and please ,if there is any other way to enter the Bootloader just feel free to tell me about it cuz i think that when i get the tri color screen again i will able to flash the phone with official English ROM of WM 6.1 that I've downloaded from the HTC site unless there is some thing that i don't under stand.

I did use the method (pressing Power+Camera+Reset) and I've got the tri-color screen the PC saw the phone and I've got the "USB" text on the phone screen then i started the ROM upgrade utility then i noticed the text under the tri-color is changing once "Serial" and another "USB" and so on until it stay's on the "Serial" and the upgrade utility show's an "Exit" button ,i press it ---> it exit's!!!.then i just disconnected the phone and reconnected it to the USB the tri-color showed the "USB" text then i started the ROM upgrade utility and got the same results.then i soft reseted the phone by the styles and get back to the same old situation ( black screen and red led on connection) and the phone is not entering the tri-color mode using the same method using the same method u linked me in ur last replay (pressing Power+Camera+Reset)!!!!!!!!
What should i do ...
please help me coz no one to ask near me and we have no HTC center here in Iraq and it look's like that i'm the only one who carry an HTC phone in my hole country!!!

The phone is locked to a particular phone company. You'll need to unlock it first. So, a bit more work needed. Follow this thread. but make sure you read it carefully:

Ok now...here is the situation:
as u advised ,i went to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395945 and it say's in (1.) that i must have a HardSPL 1.15 MFG installed (i have SPL 1.18 installed) then i went to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730 to get the HardSPL 1.15 MFG and i've found it but here is the problem:
in step (4.) i have to install sspl 1.16 nike.exe by copying it to the phone memory ,but i only managed to enter the tri-color screen and i can not copy any thing in to my phone so who am i gonna install it??? then i saw the other attached files flash-hardspl-niki.zip and flash-splash-niki.zip and all others ,what i get when i start the utility after unzipping the attachment is error in connection and the bar stay's on 0% and start the recovery system....
by the way ...all i see on the tri-color screen is the following:
RUUNBH on the right upper side of the screen.
NIKI 100 ,SPL-1.18.0000 and CPLD-4 on the upper left side of the screen in the red bar.
USB of Serial in the bottom wight bar.

From this point, we know you have SPL 1.18 on board, with a locked ROM to a phone carrier.
Best advise I can think of is to get the official ROM from the carrier and flash that. It will get you back to starting point
After that, copy SSPL 1.16 to phone, and run that on phone, followed by falsh to Hard1.15MFG before trying to unlock the phone.

then, you can know which language rom is suitable to your phone, try to find it.

you can go to www.htc.com then find suport, use your sn, you can download the original ROM. flash it first, then flash other rom which you need.
Thank u Justsun ,i just solved it by the help of Homerh and now i have the original ROM on my phone and by the way , i did not flashed it ,Homerh teached me how to restore the original ROM on the phone using the mtty and that's it. now i'm looking for a ROM that support Arabic for my HTC Touch Dual ,if u can help me find it ,i'd be pretiated.

I did the popular mistake, tried to unlock with Universal Unlocker , thinking that this is the staff to unlock all the HTC phones.

Yes, I was tying point 5 few times. The problem is, I can connect through mtty.exe without any problems, but after soft reset, I am pressing POWER and OK button and going to bootloader mode again, and when I am trying to flash the extracted radio ROM (i tried all of them = 4) and there is a problem. nothing is working. I am waiting and waiting, and there is only info: Checking your device information or something like that. What can I do ? Sorry for my English guys.
Instead of flashing an extracted radio image try to flash a normal shipped rom (if possible matching your cid). Capture the process using usb monitor to see where exactly it fails and which error you get.

I tried that ROM 2 times, once I plugged with holding camera button and second time without. I made monitor of QTEK rom aswell, because its the one which is changing phone screen from red green blue stripes to completly white. But nothing else is doin...
A attaching logs in zip file below. I have 3 files from each session, I dont know which are correct, 2 of them i saved and 1 is exported.
What do you think ?

very weird... usb seems not working but for what you say bootloader seems to be ok. Are you sure this was after patching the radio with universal unlocker? it seems totally a different problem :-$
I guess you'll have to wait until t-mob releases a ROM matching your CID and then flash it using the hermimg.nbh sd-card flashing method.
You can also try to connect to it via serial, I have no experience on that, but a search on these forums might tell you how...

Until t-mobile releases a rom with your cid... it can be today or next year, I don't know.

I don't think you lost the warranty. They usually charge about 100 eur for flashing it back in the service centre. They do it by inserting a diagnostics sd card, but we don't have it for the Hermes

You can try flashing over serial port, and you can try sd-card flashing, but for sd-card flashing you need a rom matching your CID first.

Finally I made my device working again!
And I dont have simlock !
After trying everything.... ufffff.

1) I downloaded ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.zip
2) Reset my phone in bootloader mode.
3) Plug USB cable.
4) Run HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.
5) After 20 min. my phone said ELO to meeeee He did not have simlock when was saying that.

That was simple. If you have any Hermes radio problem, try that first - HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.

-when your phone will be in bootloader mode (tri color screen) run mtty
- check USB connection in this program
and write: - info 2
- format BINFS
- l c:\566.bin (localization of your rom)
after succeful installising reboot your phone and it will be end

Anybody have idea why I cant connect to activesync after spl upgrade ? Before spl upgrade it all goes well. Can I do something with it?
if upgrade was complited succes then you must turn off USB connection in Active sync, then run bootloder mode and do everything with instructions.

Upgrade reported as success
However after reboot I see the WM6 boot screen - loverly ...
Then the Mobile Operator Splash screen ... THEN
After too long ... the phone switches itself off and I have to take the battery out to get reponse again.
Any ideas?

Ok, so a report. The phone boots, goes through WM6 splash screen, then operator screen, then APPARENTLY dead black screen.
BUT I plugged in the USB cable and the screen came on! WM6 Setup screen! All good go through setup eveything looks GREAT!
Only problem is, if I leave the phone alone for a bout a minute, the screen goes black AGAIN. Then no amount of key pressing on the device will bring it back to life.
Plugging the USB cable in brings it instantly back to life! But This means I can't wander too far from my PC ;-)
ANY Ideas
BTW IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! If I can just get around this issue ;-)

Heh heh ... seems I'm posting to myself ... that's cool I like my own company ... So I reflashed the SPL and some of the problems have gone away.
Phone will boot OK now ... but it will still "go to blank screen" and require plugging into the USB cable to "wake it up"
I'm out of ideas now ...
I try to put AP DUAL 3.0 ROM on my AMEO with sim unlock.
Probably was CID locked, and so it was impossible to install this ROM, but here what happened....
When The Firmware Flasher rebooted the device at the first step when i pressed UPGRADE BUTTON my ATHENA died... no power at all..
I think at this passage the flashing process was not started at all, infact i did not see the tre coloured bar of the bootloader... IT DIED !!
It is impossible to power on, i try to plug the AC and no orange light...i i pull of the battery and insert the AC plug the red light is OK.....
What happens ?
Is there a way to recover my NEW DEVICE ?

So did it start step 1 at all? Did u try a soft reset on the device to see if that would boot it back up?
Try running the unlocker anyway. You might be surprised

See if you can get to the bootloader, what happened was that you used an older version and I'm assuming you got the x7501 which almost always is bricked when used with the older version of oli unlocker. I don't understand why they can't remove or re-label that old package, what's wrong with doing it???? Maybe less people would brick their device.

The operating system was WINDOWS MOBILE 6
I did not use oil unlocker... i only try to flash with the ROM i say before, and my AMEO stops working before starting the flashing process.
Now my athena is died: without the battery i try to connect to ac cable and the red led lights up....when i insert the battery the red led lights off, i cannot enter into the bootloader because the ameo doesnt power on at all...
Please is there any solutions to this problem ??? It is very strange that the AMEO stop working ....before starting the flash process... infact when i push the UPGRADE button of the ROM flashing program, the ameo rebooted and died before starting the flashing process > i.e before the three coloured bars of the bootloader starts...

Ok but the unlocker told me : Athena must be connceted with activesync...mine is died..only red led without battery or no led with battery inserted.....so i do not understand how the unlocker could work..... What unlocker do i download ???
In fact.. i try a nothing... the unlocker works only if the athena is recognized...so only if it is power up....but mine is dead only red led without battery....no led with battery instead...
It seems impossible that a simple flashing destroy the unit !!!!

OK I contact HTC the told me to send the PDA to T-MOBILE CENTER to be repaired in warranty....but i leave in italy so i cannot send the pda in england...

OK - I just had the same problem. No life whatsoever.
Simple solution:
Remove battery.
Wait one hour.
Replace battery.
All is fine
No need to send back to HTC

i saw lot of people have dead prophet problem, so i am here now to make a new thread to all this people and i hope to make it useful.
now we start
** FIRST : lets know names of prophet :
I mate Jamin, O2 XDA Neo, Qtek S200, Dopod 818 pro, Dopod 830, SPV M600, VPA Compact S.
** SECOND : we must know that before we trying to do any updating or change roms on my prophet i just need to do which called unlock for the prophet and then we after that been able to change any rom on my ( jamin ) and of course u need to be careful about Your device is it G4 or G3 ,
# and how we know its G4 Or G3 ?
# when u start Your Device u will see some numbers on left,

SPL: 2.20.000
GSM: 02.61.21
OS: 3.0.0.0

and may be changed and that goes to the rom which You have, now we look for the last number on ( IPL and SPL ) , if we found it ( 0 ) it means You r G3 and if it ( 1 ) so You r G4 .
** THIRD : lets go to unlock , i will put programs in this thread it will help u in unlock.
-- Sync your device with computer and open the file u download it called HardSpl you will find two files one one foe G3 and G4 open your kind then you'll find a file called (( hardspl.bat )) okay, be sure your device is connected to computer then open the file and follow instruction and it will reset your device ,
now u ready to change rom.

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

What brand the device? Has it been SIM unlocked?
hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Dead prophet
Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

Can it enter bootloader at all?
If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!
Ok so i burnt my battery during the upgrade...
But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...
I really do not know what to do...

No [BUSB[/B] is detected. So now I need a way to flash it from the SD Card. I can not even see the HTC startup screen anymore, it just jumps directly into the tri-color screen.

i have ATHENA 100 in T-MOBILE Ameo........ i update lot of rom's on my ameo with success . my phone status is: IPL-v1.00 SPL-v1.20. Olipro.
my bad luck i try to update with that rom (Athena_SPL3.5_WM6.1_WWE_R6.1-Michy) after 92% rom got error & phone restart. after that my Ameo hang on startup. i put my phone into usb mode by pressing CAMERA key + POWER & try to upgrade with lot of diffrent roms but i got ERROR[244] INVALID MODEL ID (pic attached below) plz help me how can i update my phone in working condition??>......................
Dear friend
I think you have to install the original rom on your phone , not another cooked ROM.
If you can do that , your phone will be downgrade to original spl .

my frnd i got the 100% same problem pls do let me know if u could get rid of it im also trying my best to solve this but im still there....
Set your wifi adress with Mtty software after that upgrade with original rom all ok.
