[APP][Updated Feb 29] PhonyCall 0.9 [Dev has begun again 29OCT09] - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Attention!
I have recently begun working on this project again. Currently, VGA has been fully implemented along with improvements to the "configuration program" included in the PhonyCall package. One of the new major improvements to the configurator allows you to "drag" items such as the caller name, call time, caller number, and contact picture for simple on-the-go customization with each "wallpaper"/phone canvas.
If you would like to help me prepare the next release, i specifically need atleast one set of WQVGA and atleast one set of WVGA screenshots (incall and incoming call.) A variety of different dialer screenshots would also be helpful for any resolution (allowing users to find pre-configurated setups matching their existing dialer.) Right now i have only included the Opal Dialer for QVGA/VGA resolutions.
On the same note, if you have any ideas for features to be included, don't be afraid to suggest. The new version is incomplete, so new features to-be-added are still possible. Don't wait till it is to late, or you may be waiting awhile longer
A somewhat complete list of changes from this dev version are listed below.

joel, this works great. thank you

htc touch diamond
Joel,
This will be a great program.
On my htc touch diamond the dial screen is only a small portion of the actual phone dial screen.
An in call screen would be great.
Will check for updates. Glad to donate when it is working.
Thanks,
Doug

same with above post. i have a HTC TOUCH HD and in the top lefthand corner it comes up real small. any ideas? maybe wait until next release.

The Program is only QVGA right now (as it is listed in the first post.) Your phone is WVGA.

thanks, i guess that's why it states 'junior member' above my name. i will definatly donate if this can run on my HTC HD touch. need it real bad, bloke near me only stops talking if my phone rings!!!

Any chance of WVGA version? Currently using Touch Pro 2

(28 November 2010) iDialer v0.54 - Open Source edition

I would like to announce the next version of iDialer, v0.54! This version is the first open-source version, with code available on Google Code. It also fixes the soft-keys for non-touchscreen phones.
Update: November 28, 2010: It seems Google has changed their URL scheme for some people, so if you get an error message like "unexpected results: m/b/0/sms" then download the new version from my site.
See my website for usage instructions.
Here's a full list of differences between v0.53 and v0.54:
[#] Fixed soft keys: left soft key = "add contact", right soft key = "backspace"
[-] Removed experimental support for dialing via Phone.com
[#] First public release of source code on google code
Public service announcement about 911 calls: please test 911 from your phone before an emergency situation arises. I tried it on my phone the other day with the new Tachi phone canvas and it did not work the first time.
Download from my website:
http://www.supware.net/iDialer/
I have a companion program, GreenButton, which better integrates iDialer into the OS. See my site for details.
Here's my iDialer wishlist for future updates:
Custom in-call screen

thank you very much
can you make it in the diamond skin to match icontacts with diamond skin? that would look great. thank.
I got it working and it's really good but when I do following, select the dialer, can't remember the number I want to dial and want to jump for example to the favorites your app always refers back to the last used function of iContact. In the case when you started iContact and go straight to the dialer and further to the favorites it always will jump to the phone book. Is it possible that you don't remember the last used function and go to the selected one?
this is really really great. thanks man
finally a worthwhile dialling app nice one.
Will you integrate it in your new version of iContact?
Hi,
Thanks for this good apps, but how change number format (***) *** - *** ? (not work for me , in france)
Nice one!
May I dare with my very personal wish list:
- options/instructions to map it to the dialer button
- international (configurable?) phone number format. I'm able to place call also with the current phone number format anyway.
- inclusion into iContact (only when the iDialer software will be mature enough)
Anyway does anyone know how to map it to dialer button (the one with the green phone icon)?

I'm really looking forward to the grandcentral dialer. I would also like the option to not fully integrate because I would want to use the dialer only for gc.

nice if you can get grandcentral working that would be great the only think that sucks about grandcentral is that you have to use the number that they gave you
i wish they would open the program back up because I'd like to get a number for cali given that i'm residing here now

There are ways to have grandcentral dial non-contact numbers. Look up Grand Central Click to Call extension for Firefox (http://thatsmith.com/2008/06/grandcentral-addon-for-firefox/) to see one example.
supbro - looks like the two dialer skins (xcf) on your site are corrupt. When I downloaded and changed the extension to .png, I couldn't find a paint program that could read them...?

xcf is the rough equivalent to a photoshop psd. You have to open it up in Gimp.
very cool. thanks supbro

[12/9] nueLight3

(2) I’ve been experimenting with new UI interfaces, the latest engine and API I’ve developed aims on blending in with Manila. You can see it in the new beta of nueLight3, which aims to replicate the look and feel of the HTC CommManager – It supports both orientations and uses the same style resources as the HTC comm manager, allowing easy porting of existing skins – it now also has the advantage of being able to use the same resources under multiple resolutions (automatic stretching). Hopefully this allows Windows Mobile to be a little more attractive in the future…. you can download a preview version here (note only the CAB is available right now). As usual, please avoid direct linking and mirroring. It uses the HTCCamera1.dll interface now, so it should be compatible with all HTC devices with flash. In addition, the morse code transmit rates are now calculated automatically based on desired WPM, using the (dit_time = 1200/WPM) “PARIS” method.

Other than the High Beam issue (flashes), it's working looks nice and works great.
Just one question - NET 3.5 required? I only ask because just like with your Power/Backlight CPL item, this crashes once I exit (with the "report this error to MS" crash).
I have NET2 and 3.5 (2 is default)

Thats a pitty.
An idea... could you make the application perform the flashes on the screen (fullscreen white light) for devices that do not have flash??
That will make everyone happy
pretty cool application, but my light wont go off, somehow it allows me to exit the program and wont turn the light off for anything, i have to restart my phone to turn it off, the camera app wont come up either. If you could fix this lil bug id use this over the htorch
will this run on any wm device? and version?
BUG - Exit app at instruction screen will cause LED to stay on
As far as the program exit issue: I will try to repeat it and gather/note any details reported or take a screenshot (generally happens upon exit, but hasn't happened since the first time using the app).
I did notice a bug, though (if it's a bug/feature, not sure):
1: Start the application
2: When presented with the notice about sliding finger up to bring up the menu, click the [X] to close it (must set HTC Task Manager to close app when clicking [X])
The LED will now stay on, and no other app will be able to control it (or, in some cases, even start, such as nueLight or hTorch).

really cool aaps,...
any qvga version?
Dude! I love this. You ought to contact D-MAN666 and see if it is possible to integrate this into TF3D!
agreeee,.
not bad.
how ever highbeam makes my x1's bright light flash instead of staying on.
also since the rez on my x1 is wvga after going into the about screen and then back the bottom of the background is no longer shown.
im guessing the background can be fixed with a theme edit. but any clues or ideas about highbeam flashing instead of staying on would be cool. unless its supposed to flash.

This also works on qvga devices..
X7510 doesn't take to nueLight
During the installation a warning about the software being developed for an older version of WM appears.
Then it just wouldn't start.
Works great, wondering if you might release a new version. If you do could you just make in program files and not in its own folder.
would you make it compatible with samsung omnia ?
Awesome tool i've been using it for quite a while now. I love the morse-code option.
I have to agree with moullas and wanwarlock to add a feature for none HW flash device's to make it a complete and ultimate flashlite app.

[APP] ZLaunchy version 0.2 - T9-like application launcher with a dialpad

ZLaunchy - version 0.2
This is still an early beta, so some things might not work
ZLaunchy was written mainly for those who like the way Windows Mobile dialer allows searching for contacts in a T9-like way - so that finding Adam means choosing 2326 in the phone application. ZLaunchy uses the same idea to run programs on your device. What it does is gives you a dialer keypad and when you type in a series of digits, it searches for all programs that match - for example to start Internet Explorer, start typing 4683 - Internet Explorer and Internet Sharing should show up in the result list.
Application performs a search using all items in the Start Menu. It also skips showing application icons, which causes it to work faster than usual application launchers. This makes ZLaunchy a perfect candidate for an application that's bound to a hardware key (using system settings) and have it always handy when you want to find an application quickly.
In order to search for a particular text as beginning of words, type the specified digits - for example 4683 to find Internet explorer. In order to search for specified letter(s) not only at beginning of words, add "1" at the end - for example 4681 will find PowerPoint Mobile.

Change history for version 0.2
* Added support for square QVGA (240x240 and 320x320) devices
* Support for entering digits or text using hardware keyboard
* Configuration panel - vibration feedback, additional search location
* Added possibility of searching My Documents and one additional directory (multiple directories coming soon)
* Searching for strings not only at beginning of words (by appending 1 at the end)
* Optionally run on startup - starts and hides ZLaunchy in the background
* Minor bugfixes
Plans for future releases
* More configuration options
* Configurable, easily switchable "profiles" - i.e. "start menu", my documents, custom directories
* Ability to search in settings items - not sure on how to list items in there from C#
* Multi-language support - both translations and better locale-specific searching (only supports English and Polish nicely for now)
* Support for theming (result list and buttons separately)
Very cool... I don't think I'll need it but I like the idea. Nice work.
thanks for the app anyway, BUT...
you should have mentioned that this app was for VGA only...
you could have saved an install and an uninstall for me dude!

This shouldn't be VGA only. That's why it's still 0.1 - not quite final yet.
EDIT: Fixed - some screw-up in the CAB creation. Now there's a separate QVGA/VGA installer that works fine on both.
@dredd - care to retry?
Great concept seriously !
Oh my god that program is just AWESOME.
That's the thing i missed all the time on my WiMo-phone. On my computer, i'm only starting programs with launchy, it's much more faster than browsing a start-menu or something like that.
If you need help, ask me. I'm quite experienced with photoshop and also can help you with translations (german).
A version with a full QWERTY-keyboard (that covers 3/4 of the screen) would be great too.
Great idea! Wonder if I can use it like filemanager too? I'm always searching for a cab on my storage card. This is brilliant!..
I'll assign it to a button for quick launch.
Thanks for sharing..
Works great! Smooth, fast , Vibration feedback, finger scrolling! Very smart!
Thankyou very cool app anyway to turn off haptic feedback? If not could you implement for future release
Great stuff!
How about options to search for other file type by name? Photos, docs, etc? \
Might make it even more powerful.
As I sad, this is great!
wow it's really fast. thanks. maybe an option to remove the vibration in the next release?
interesting concept! going to try right now...

Yeah, that's part of the TODO list. Engine is quite generic, so adding in My Documents or custom folder (i.e. *.cab in \Storage Card\installs) is mainly configuration issue. That's for v0.2 or a bit later.

This is a homescreen/lockscreen app I made, based off of the Windows Phone 7 Series Metro UI.
So far, you can:
Set Phone, Text, Outlook, and People to a certain app
See upcoming appointments on lock screen
See information on live tiles
Launch programs
etc.
Instructions
1) Download installer at bottom of post.
2) Copy to device and install
3) Run wp7s.exe from start menu
4) To access settings, double tap on right side of screen
5) To lock, tap the top bar (near clock)
Known issues
* Animations are sluggish at times.
* Problems with kinetic scrolling
* Unlock can unlock in any direction, not just up.
* ...need more feedback
Requirements
VGA or WVGA device, QVGA is possible but looks bad.
Recommended: Snapdragon processor or at least a very new phone.
Live tiles
The live tiles seen are web pages that auto-update with JavaScript.
In the video/screenshot, one is the current weather in New York,
the second one is the current trending Twitter topics,
and the last two are random changing numbers.
To make your own, just design a HTML or PHP file, use JavaScript to auto refresh, upload it somewhere, and set it to one in the settings!
Also, here are some examples I've made:
Random Number (for testing) - http://jaxbot.com/livetiles/random.php
Top 4 trending topics - http://jaxbot.com/livetiles/twitter.php
Weather - http://jaxbot.com/livetiles/weather.php?zipcode=[ZIPCODE]
Upcoming features
More customization (background, etc)
Smoother animations/scrolling
Ability to rearrange icons
Social networking integration
Hubs

Wow! Very cool, definitly a little buggy, but I'm still really impressed. I didn't imagine someone coming out with a WP7 shell this soon, I will be following this thread for sure.
Wow that looks great! I'll be testing this soon.
nice work man! this is interesting! looking forward to more functions
Yess!
I'm so glad you've already put out the alpha download, unlike Maxci with MaxSense. This is great work and is very much appreciated.
Awesome Development
The Windows 7 Series Phone use Segoe UI font and it would be nice to see it ported as well.
Great development.
this sounds good
i have tried in QVGA (HTC ARTEMIS) its look good
nice try buddy
Nice to see an early port.
However, I think this really highlights the a major issue with the current WinMo 6. That the graphics are on the whole incompetent - poor support for transparency, and horrible font smoothing.
it look pretty well, but it doesn't work on my lg-gm750, wen i execute the exe file says: there is a problem, please reboot your device or se more detaills

And it does the shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Program Files

Aah!
I was hoping this would be created by someone...
And now you did!
Wonderfull!
I'll test it out on my phone!
Thx!
After testing: Looks good on 320x240.
Indeed a bit slow and choppy sliding, but it assume you're working on that

The cab installer I used for this is crap, next build I'll use the default one in Visual Studio, which I believe uses environment variables.
The reason why it says FileNotFoundException is probably due to it looking in \Program Files\wp7s\config.txt, but it may be something else (since it should just ignore it if there's no config and just use default settings).
I'll look into it, and hopefully I'll have a smoother, better running build out later today or tomorrow.
EDIT: Found the problem, it's trying to pull images from \My Documents\My Pictures, which is obviously only good for English devices. I'll give an option to change it and have it patched in the next build.
Thanks

i can't get it to work on my hd2 (german).
already edited all the paths to match the german version.
still no success. "wp7s.exe DirectoryNotFoundException".
what directory is the exe searching for??

The problem is that it is looking for \My Documents\My Pictures\.
Try creating that path and placing a few images in there, or wait for the next build (should be soon).

[APP] CrisRowlands SimplePiano V3.5 [02.05.10] [ VGA / WVGA ]

CrisRowlands SimplePiano
Ive wanted a piano app for my Rhodium (TouchPro2) for quite a while now, but everything I find either crashes instantly or is really lame.
I used to use Omniano on my HTC Touch, but havent found any working links to later builds that support WVGA.
Ultimately I got bored & decided to make my own. I didnt want anything too complex, just a piano and thats what Ive made
Features:
WVGA & VGA versions.
It has three octaves.
Future changes:
Will make other resolutions on request.
Supply cabs for adding new instruments to the app.
Multitouch (Looking slightly less likely as time goes on)
CHANGELOG:
02.05.10
Fixed the problem where it wasn't animating key presses
Slight change to Settings page.
Added startup page.
29.04.10:
Added VGA resolution
28.04.10:
Added full skinning support.
It now gives an message instead of crashing when it cant find sounds.
Added support for other instruments.
(New instruments will come as a cab for each instrument when I get the files, like an addon)
Added a settings page to switch between instruments.
(The settings page will have more on it over time)
Rotation message added.
27.04.10:
Fixed issues with the app not finding files & gremlins hacking my app
25.04.10:
Now added skinning support
Other Notes:
I hope you folks like it
Feedback is appreciated, improvements can only happen if I know what you folks want.
Sorry the cabs quite big & it takes a while to install - its all the sound files.
Skinning:
A NEW THREAD HAS BEEN MADE FOR SKINS HERE
Other instruments:
None yet (Will add instruments here over time)

Great one, but too bad I've got an Hermes. If you should make it skinnable I'll make a skin for it, though.
Keep it up !
Well done. I had a look at the video. Cool!
How about multi-touch? Would be great to play a chord...I think C will fit
Keep up the good work. I will follow closely this thread and any updates of the application.

very cool. Have to agree that multi touch would be awesome. also it would be cool if you could drag your finger across the keys and they would respond (not sire if that is considered multi touch)
nice to see yours apps on xda-dev mate.
HI Cris,
a very good startup. You can play piano ..?
On the same all the other pianos has started. I hope you will develop it further. The sound likes very good. Thanks and we cross the finger..

Im going to look into multitouch, but I cant promise anything.
Ive never attempted anything like that before & I cant test it because I have a Touch Pro 2 which sadly lacks a capacitive screen
Bored so I made a skin. Took like 7 minutes, so its very simple.
Hmm,
First app from the future
Must try.
Multitouch for HD2 plzzz
Gonna give a try and publish it in my forum
See you.

omniano is commercial now, and changed name.

so it's not that strange you can't find any download links.

I like it Its nice ^___^
Sadly it doesnt support transparency though
ApptoDate Support
Pretty nifty app you got here. A suggestion if you plan on putting out a lot of updates would be to add Apptodate support. Just a thought.
Definitely looking forward to multitouch support for my HD2

Yeah, sorry thats the error message I put in.
Did you install it to the storage card or main memory?
also, did you move the app at all or change the name of any folders?
