How Do I Flash The ROM If I Cannot Boot Into Windows - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

How do I flash my Titan if I cannot boot past the startup Verizon screen?
This is what I was gonna do. Use DCDs kitchen from 3.2.6 to make a NBH file, then rename it to TITAIMG.nbh, put it on a blank FAT32 formatted SD card, then startup into the bootloader, right?
Thanks for the help. I cannot boot past the start screen, because I tried the stupid 'Reloaded 1.3.4' ROM which did this, so is that what I need to do to flash from the SD card?

format a mSD card as FAT32, with a 1024 allocation size. (this important step MATTERS) put the TITAIMG on the root of the SD card, (if needed place the card back into your phone)
do a soft reset while holding the power and camera button. you should see the rainbow flag screen breifly, then a LOADING screen
if you followed directions carefully (1024 allocation size), you should be prompted to press the POWER button to continue.....go ahead, do it.

Ok, that confirms what I was going to do.
Just did it and everything is fine. I'm back to DCD 3.2.6.
Hey is 3.3.4 stable? I notice there was never an official thread on it. should I stick with 3.2.6?

I always found 3.2.6 the best of his older ROMs. It is fine to stay with that.
Is this the first time you flashed by SD? You have been around for a while I could have sworn you had done it all, but you are saying that all this time you have been flashing through RUU and not SD?

An alternative to SD flash would be:
Hold down the camera button + power and hit reset with the stylus. This will put you in boot loader mode.
Connect to your computer USB and flash.

Several people here are having issues with that method. That is the issue that I am having with the 6.5 roms. It only lets me connect one time through activesync via usb, then after that it rarely works.

Lol, did you edit this post to remove the "cause waves a while back" comment? hehe
Yes, well, I "caused waves" because I found a way to edit the registry to enable to IR port to start working. It worked with an old PPC2003 program called Nevo, and I did in fact have it working with the ability to change channels on the TV and all, but you had to hold your PDA upside down, and the read the Nevo software upside down...it was a hassle. lol
But anyway, yes I cause waves becuase I had it working, and told them what to do to get it working, but none of them could, and they got all mad at me for some reason. Oh well, it was a long time ago, and I don't even use the IR feature anymore. Flashed 100 times since then, who knows what the reg settings are now.

Had an issue after flashing with 21169 (WM 6.5) after trying to restore a 6.1 backup, it was stuck on the boot screen. Was able to put in BL mode, then connect to PC and reflash, all worked fine...

Try renaming the .nbh file to TITAIMG.nbh and put it in a 1GB or less microsd card and then press the power button + the camera Button together and hold, and then press the reset button that is located next to your usb charging/syncing slot
good luck

Yeah, on a side note, I noticed that The card must be 2GB or less, and also you cannot use capital letters for the extension, it must be case sensitive
WORKS: "TITAIMG.nbh"
DOES NOT WORK: "TITAIMG.NBH"

HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was trying to relock my mogule for the TEP and I was going to put the HTC sprint Rom back on. At the end of the Titan Relocker.exe process I was left with a Red, Green, Blue, and White screen that I can not get off. I have done a reset, Hard reset, bootloader reset nothing works it keeps coming back to the rainbow screen with writing on it that says: RUUNBH (upper right corner) TITA100 SPL-1.06.0000 CPLD-9. What can I do to fix?
You need to flash the stock rom. Are you flashing using a SD card, or USB? SD card would be 10x easier, as I've had problems connetion via USB while in bootloader.
Tyler
I was using USB for the relock.
I used SD card when I unlocked it the 1st time but I forgot how I did it.
I am pressed for time because I am going on vacation. How do I fix it?
Thanx.
Your device is in bootloader mode waiting for you to flash the stock ROM. Put the stock ROM on a SD card and flash it..press power/camera buttons while depressing the soft reset hole with stylus. Don't forget u have to rename the ROM to TITAIMG.nbh
Ok thanks, I will try it when I get home....
I thought I had already installed the Rom by USB but I guess it didn't take.
My computer act as if it was uploading to my phone, I will put the rom on SD and try it that way. I will let you know how it turns out.
Thanks!

Press and Hold the volume down key then push the reset button. When you see the tricolored screen, you can re-flash to a new ROM from there... just by launching a new flash.
thanks for responding yea i tried that i even reinstalled the energy rom but it still wont go past the splash
try flashing from you sd card, search flashing from sd card or something like that. I belive you have to format it in 32 mode and then take the rom "raphimg.nbh"(not exact spelling or proper spelling I beleive some of that has to be in capitals) sorry to here your phone is down. Try that and post your results.
Format the card FAT32. Place a rom on the card & rename the rom to RAPHIMG.nbh.
Put the SD Card in the slot & hold volume down & reset. Press the power button when instructed to do so on the screen.
thanks guys for ur help but i keep getting no image file then it says serial i formated the card and everything

Try a different microSD. Also be sure that you did a full format not a quick format. I had an issue with a few microSD cards, but I like my 2GB PNY for flashing my phone via microSD.
I had the exact same issue after flashing the latest energy 3 rom
heres what i did
1. Reflashed Hard SPL
2. Flashed a stock HTC ROM, i managed to do this from my PC by manually entering the bootloader.
3. Did a hard reset
4. Let phone complete initial setup
5. Reflashed Hard SPL - Read somewhere that sock roms may overwrite \ partially overwrite Hard SPL
6. Flashed an Energy 2 ROM (only cause i wanted to check something out in it anyway)
So far its all looking good

good to see you back, ive had similar issues with a my 16GB and 8GB aswell a few times i think its due to some corruption beeing made to the filesystem when we disconnect it to soon form the pc (using it as disc-drive) thats kinda the same thing that happens when u disconnect a usb-harddrive in windows while its in use by windows and tries to connect it with linux.
a really good disc-repair tool i stumbled upon is located here

and just to make sure its done right as gsleon3 said, do as he said and make sure that you take the you take the ruu_signed.nbh and rename that to raphimg.nbh (not sure if it has to be in CAPS, im pretty sure ive done it like this RAPHimg.nbh lots of time)
...monx, it would be great to have you back cooking wonderful stew

Problem trying to remove HSPL?...need help please.

Hello there,
I installed Hspl a few days ago on my Virgin HD2 and have tried a few custom roms on it but i am sure this phone is faulty as it randomly crashes on all the roms i have tested.
My brother received this phone also and he has tried the custom roms and his is fine so i am planning on sending it back for an exchange.
I have read the instructions for uninstaling Hspl and watched the video so i downloaded the rom from the official HTC site and extracted the RUU_signed.nbh and renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh but when i hold the volume button down and press power on to load the LEOIMG.nbh off the memory card...it gets to the loading screen then shows me the screen with the SPL-1.42.HSPL on it.
I am a Noob so i am probably doing something wrong
Can anybody help me out please?
Thanks.
You need a GoldCard. You can not only put the "LEOIMG.nbh" on it. It will not work. Create a GoldCard, follow the instruduction and it will work fine.

Your wrong... If he has HSPL, which he has, he can simply put the "leoimg.nbh" on the root on the memory card... Then, while turning it on, hold down the "volume down" button... That's what's HSPL is for...Remember to format the memory card in fat32... If you don't it won't work... The card that comes with the HD2 is formatted in fat16... Use fat32!
Edit:
Here is the "official" guide:
4) Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
But again... Remember to format your sd card in fat32.
Hello,
Thanks for the replies.
My card is formatted to Fat 32.....i switch the phone off then hold down on the volume then press power on...first the screen shows me the SPL-1.42.HSPL then "Loading" shows then it shows the SPL-1.42.HSPL again.
The words serial sometimes show at the bottom of the screen.
Do i need to hold or release the volume and power buttons for any length of time?
It looks like i was holding on to the volume down button too long.
Thanks for the help.

Hi
Do a hard reset
Take 2gb card and format fat32 and download the rom from htc site using your serial number because You got the HD2 from Virgin uk means that it is factory unlocked and unbranded.
Extract the downloaded rom and rename the RUU signed nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh and put it into the root of the card
Now remove the battery put the card in the hd2
Press and HOLD the Vol down button until you see the bootloader
Then follow the screen
I hope this will work
Good luck

you can only install your authorised telestra ROM via HTC's stock RUU.exe without hspl. Perhaps do a [REQ] thread for the ROm to be posted by someone who can dump it.

Say again please?
You need stock (only stock) SD 2GB Card that was with your phone.
After you found it, you need to download shipped rom from HTC official site for your region.
Then you have to open the .exe file with winrar and after it you have to unpack "RUU_Signed.nbh" to your SD card and rename it into "LEOIMG.nbh".
Then reload your phone with pressed "volume down".
And then you will follow instructions.
P.S. Sorry for my English, I am from Russia.
I have the same issue as mentioned above, i've used both the standard SD card that came with the phone and an alternative SD card that i know works and both have the Tricolour theme and serial at the bottom..
Any ideas driving me mad

Hi,
I have been having the same problem. I could really appreciate your help.
I need to remove HSPL from the phone as I have sold the phone & don't want to void warranty.
I Followed what Mskips thread said but still could not do it.
I have copied the NBH file from stock rom, renamed it LEOIMG.NBH & copied it to route of memory card that I formatted with FAT32.
Put the memory card in phone, held down the Volume Down button for three seconds & then held down the power button.
I would get the tricoloured screen with HardSPL info but nothing else would happen.
Some one on the forum said try formatting it FAT16 & see if that makes a difference. I tried this & I got slightly further, after the tricolour screens comes up I get a white screen that seize loading but nothing happen after that.
I tried letting go off the Volume button as soon as you see the tricoloured screen, but I am not getting any further i.e. flashing instructions.
Would really appreciate if you could help & tell me what roms etc you used so I can get this done.
This has been lingering for a few days now I have to post item on Tuesday
Please help
Thanks

How long should it stay in loading mode??? i have a white screen with loading... at the top...it has been like this for 30min
in order to uninstall hspl to your phone....you need to know your original Stock rom....you should have backed up your original Stock rom before playing with your expensive phone....

Flash a radio that does not have ".51" in the name. Flash a radio that has ".50" instead. ***Make sure the ".50" radio is 2.06+ (don't flash anything below 2.06.50.xx).
Okay, thanks for your reply But i still cant make it work, are you sure its the radio causing this problem? I`ve now tried RADIO_2.10.50.28_2 (this is the only one with "50" in it among the recomended radios in the artemis thread...) , RADIO_2.12.50.02_2 and the mentioned above RADIO_2.07.51.22_2.7z.
Should i just keep going?
One more thing. When 2.12 and 2.10 was installed, the phone restarted by its self after about 30-60 sec on htc bootscreen. if that means anything?

It's usually the radio that's the problem -- if your phone gets stuck on the bootscreen.
I'm not sure what else might be the problem.
Just in case, try this: Task 29, flash a .50 radio, flash a stock ROM (via USB), hard-reset.
If that fails, I don't know what else to say...
i tried the task 29 witout luck A couple more weird things though.. when i try to install a rom from the memory card, the bootloader doesn`t start the installation. I just says "serial". And Yes its formated with fat32 and im sure im doing it right. The other thing is that the phone starts by itself about 60sec after plugging in the charger.. i`m guessing this have to be a hardware problem. might be the usb connector as many seem to have problems with.
I`ve now put in a stock spl and will send it back for repair tomorrow.
Dammit, hspl i still there. Is the only way to remvoe it by using the sd-card? then i might be fu..ed regarding the warranty :S

I think so. Someone with more experience might be able to provide a more confident answer.
Are you sure you're renaming the ROM as "LEOIMG.nbh" (no quotes) and putting it in the root of the SD-card?

Hello dude!
Try using a microSD smaller than 8gb and formated with FAT32 (it's a known fact that 16gb microSD does not work for flashing.....).
If you want to remove the HSPL there is 2 ways:
1 - Flash a stockROM via SDcard, like you are trying to do.
OR
2 - Use the HSPL2 program to revert to the original SPL state.
If you could enter the bootloader, probably your phone does not need any special repairs.. Anyway.......
Try using a smaller SDcard to flash the radio and the ROM again. You could also try flashing via USB/PC.....
Do not forget to redownload the ROM, it could be a "bad download".

I have read around this forum quite alot now and i have done hard reset a million times, i have installed an original updated rom from htc`s site. When this didn`t work i installed hspl3, Artemis v270 NOR and RADIO_2.07.51.22_2. And it still wont start!
Im getting quite sick of experimenting, so i`d be really happy if any of you smartguys could help me

hello guys,
someone at htcedia posted this fixes:
1) Install you HSPL.
2) Install your cooked rom.
3) Upgrade your radio. (Leo_RADIO_2.10.50.26)
4) Do Hard reset. (Hold Vol up and down also end call button) then press (Red reset button under back cover next to battery)
Fixes Freezing on HTC bootup screen.
and for me, when i remove the micro sd card the phone bootup but when the micro sd card is in the phone it wont.
so try to remove the micro sd card then reset a hard or soft reset ur device, keep ur micro sd out until ur r completely loaded, then put ur sd card back in the phone.

Please help

Hey, i tried to install android on my HD2 several times and failed, but then i noticed i had wrong version of hspl so i couldn't start MAGLRD (i had 3.03 i think i should've had 2.08 right?) Anyway i then tried to remove the HSPL by formatting my sd card and putting the file from original rom (i don't remember the name) and renaming it to LEOIMG, it started installing the rom i went to another room, when i came back it had finished and was on the red/blue/green screen and it said update failed and i had to retry, but now none of the exes work like rom updates or task29 nothing. when i turn on the phone it says "Not allow" and then goes to the red/blue/green screen. Please help me, I'm freaking out is there any way to fix it? Is there even a way to access SD card when the phone does this?
TomaToz, use the computer to flash via USB cable.
I can't, none of the rom updates or ANYTHING works since this, they all give errors
go to the magLDR page and look for how to remove it.
then start from scratch
There's no info how to remove it but even if there was how would i? None of the exes work and i can't turn the phone on, also i dont think MAGLRD got installed cause i had HSPL 3.03 instead of 2.08
Come on isn't htere anyone who ca help me? :|
are you sure you haven't bricked your phone?
because it just seems you did :/
I don't think you read the bold "You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!" just above the history?
anyway, can you not flash a radio via USB as well?
also, if you post the error messages you get maybe we can help you more.
you can also check here:

What does bricked mean? :9
and no i can not flash radio or anything else, i'll edit this message with a picture of what the error message looks like
EDIT: WOW, i tried to run the hspl installation and installed hspl 2.08 successfully, not i turned my phone on and its the screen where you choose to start the update for rom. This is the update after which my hd2 said "Update failed" so I'm scared to take any steps, please respond and tell me what to do
HOLY FREAKING CRAP! I installed android and everything seems to work fine, i can't tell you how relieved i am :]]]]
That's for your attention

What i installed is TyphooN_CM7_v3.5.9-MAGLDR
Help please!!! Hd2 stuck !
HI to all!my phone was working great until i decided to try a new rom so I installed task29 (i had elegancia rom but i wanted to try another rom)and now im stuck on the htc logo screen that says 'stick together' in a red square.....i tried vol down+power button to go into bootloader but nothing happens, then i tried to hard reset but still nothing happens...i pushed the reset button and i did it all over again at least 3 times but still nothing... is there anything else i can try? (even on the hardware?)
my HD2 is a T-MOBILE usa with :
radio 2.08.50.08_2
2.08.HSPL
3.14.531.1 elegancia rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651729)
i love my hd2 and i want it back...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
THANK YOU in advance!!!
sofialoca, task29 is not a thing to be "installed". It's a flash formatting. So you did everything correctly and deleted all from your phone except.. hmmm... stick together.
To flash other rom - just press Volume Down and push reset (under the battery cover) KEEPING VOLUME DOWN PRESSED. Keep it pressed until you are again in bootloader mode. Then connect USB and flash whatever you want.
thank you Andrew!I found the problem...
