Vodafone HTC TP Radios (+some other stuff) - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

Ok, i suspect this has been asked a million times before.... Yeah i've been to raph wiki... Just want to clarify things, its too much info and i want to know if i get everything right. Please help me get my head around this if you can.
My phone:
Vodafone HTC Touch Pro (factory not SIM-locked)
CE OS build 19945.1.2.3
Rom version: 1.90.161.5 WWE
Date: 09/03/08
Radio: 1.02.25.19
Protocol: 52.33.25.17U
I have HardSPL'ed my phone successfully. If i want to flash another RAPHAEL radio i dont need to do anything else. "Security" unlock is only needed if non-raphael radios need to be flashed (such as diamond?)?
Do i replace current Vodafone rom (besides radio)? Is there a good reason to do so ? If so, which one and why ? Not interested in software overload, but prefer to have Touch Flo and as much speed as possible. I have read that t-mobile Vario4 roms are extremely bad, cant say this about Voda, but what do i know - i only owned HTC s710 (Orange SPV E650) for a year or 2. (flashed it to WM6.1 myself, came with 6.0)
How do i unload contacts, software, games off the s710 to my TP ?
So much questions. Please bear with me.
Thanks for your time.

To answer your rom question, the newest roms are version 5.05 instead of 1.90. I have an unbranded tp so I just installed the official 5.05 and no custom one. But if you're looking for speed you should check out energyrom 2.0 I guess. Your contacts can be easily ported from s710 to tp using outlook. Use activesync to sync your 710 contacts with outlook and then sync outlook with your tp. I've done the same with my old s620 and it's the only way I've found that works. There are programs in which you can backup you contacts (such as sktools) but from smartphone to ppc it doesn't seem to work.

Version 1.72 seriously discussed

Can anyone share with us information on version 1.72 for XDA2: features, benefits, pros, cons... ?
Is worth upgrading from O2 1.60 ?
thanks
There are allready many threads on this.
But to conclude:
If you don't have any issues with your current version: stay with it.
You might consider 1.72 (the Qtek or iMate versions, NOT the T-Mobile beta) especially when:
1. You need certain Bluetooth options (ie serial port protocol) and don't want to mess around with hacks or extra 'tools'
2. Battery life is important
For me these points were enough to DO the upgrade (coming from 1.63 T-Mobile NL). And very happy with it.
Keep in mind that (unless you find a 1.72 from your own operator) you will have quite some work with getting all the customisations right.
One of these days I will post a good working set (no issues in a month holiday!!) of customisations to be used as a an extended rom for T-Mobile NL
i'm currently using the T-Mobile ROM v1.72WWE had no problem with it. the batt life was improved noticeably. I was using the O2 ROM v1.66WWE
as for my bluetooth i'm using the widcomm BT-PPC/PE v1.0.0 build 1400. no problems with it except that it turns off whenever i set my phone to standby mode.
downlaod
i have a qtek 2020 with rom 1.66 and it is doing a lot of problem which version is better and where can i download it
1.72 ROM Editing the Connectivity
Hi, I am v happy with the 1.72 ROM... I have successfully added my local GPRS setting for my operator.
but ... I can't edit my ISP GPRS settings.
In the select network, edit My ISP, the existing connections doesn't show up to allow me to edit the settings. No exisiting connection to "tap" on!?
please help!!
1.72 ROM
i have 'salad rom' with asian flavour(Included 'auto configuration' & 'o2 connect) and happy with it.
rom 1.72WWE, radio 1.17, ext.rom 1.72.900 (main rom by Qteq, radio by T-mobile, ext.rom by edsubsoft).
untill now ;
phone, gprs, activesync, run program, MS BT stack, sms, mms ........are running well. (maybe i am lucky with it)
keep to my salad untill SE come out.
---------------
many thanks to [Krueger] Dr. Stein, mamaich, itsme, edsub...
you are great man.
Most of the post regarding ROM Salads and customizations are beyond what I wish to perform on my device. To dat I have only loaded T-Mobile ROM upgrades that required nothing more than loading them automatically. I currently have the T-Mobile U7K Beta on my MDA II.
Can someone please explain the following:
1. Is there another T-Mobile 1.72 WWE available that I can load, non-beta?
2. I see other Custom ROMs on this site that state T-Mobile. Can I simply load those automatically or will I have to get into country ID, .nbf files, etc?

Official T-Mobile
Hi. Gratefuled
maybe this can help you : :?: :?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=11169
ajong,
Thanks for the link. I have looked at that page/thread, but I think what I want is still not available.
I'm looking for an official T-Mobile 1.72 ROM, si I can get rid of the 1.72 Beta, or I'm looking for someone's custom ROM that I can load just like I could an official one. In other wors the custom I suppose would be ok, but I do not want to mess around with opeing the ROM and disecting and changing certain settings. Like I say, it just may not be out there.

Just bought a 7500 and was going to register with htc for wm6

I was just wondering why HTC wants to know your mobile number when you register your phone to get wm6?
just register your Athena on HTC website.....
Yea register then post the ROM!
Not so fast...
FYI, I have a 7500 and I at first used the Dopod WM6 ROM. After the offical HTC ROM came out I installed it and I was terribly disappointed. It's an older build of ther OS, older version of Office, and the device ID had changed so TomTom wanted me to re-activate it. I couldn't since I had just activated it on the old ROM.
My advice: stay away from the HTC WM6 ROM and go with atl least the Dopod ROM, or even better, the Black Touch ROM. Be sure to CID unlock the phone first.

My device is originally Ameo which I flashed to HTC. Flashing the Dopod ROM also changed my device ID in TomTom So it is not a matter of one being "better" than the other Stick with the ROM "family" you registered initially with TomTom. Or get another copy of TT!
Not so fast...
P.S. If you use the Black Touch ROM, be sure to read the existing posts - all of them - for potential issues and fixes.

Dopod rom is stamped with 2.19 version number, HTC rom has 2.21 version number. At least by that it seems that HTC rom is newer.
Iuse HTC rom and do not have any complains. It is fast and stabile. Never got stackd since I've installed it. I use a lot of applications, have installed 4 voip apps, mapping soft, use internet sharing. All works without any problems. Am using real VGA 128 dpi.
The HTC WM6 ROM may have a later date and higher version number, but the build of the OS is older (look at the OS version and build number) and the version of the Office apps is older as well.
I have found that the Black Touch edition is considerably faster thatn the Dopod WM6 ROM, plus it ihas a lot of extras bundled into it that you would have to install on your own otherwise (and apps bundled into the ROM do not consume program memory).

Niki 200 winmo 6.1 help!

Hi all, i have a niki 200 (t-mobile mda plus). I have just security unlocked it and it has hard spl 1.15 on it.
First off i would like the latest edition of windows mobile on this phone but im struggling to find one thats compatible with the key configuration of the phone. Also will there be a built in radio compatible with the version of the rom update i download, or will i have to re-install t-mobiles orginal 1.58.16.27 radio.
Cheers all for any help given!
regards
thebarraster
P.S. I am looking for a un-branded, not full of t-mobiles crap rom lol
I just did mine yesterday, tis a T-Mobile Touch plus with 16 keys.
Followed the sticky on flashing the hardspl, but i went with 1.22.
The got a copy of the Offical HTC WM 6.1 update from one of the other threads and ran the rom updater on that.
Worked a treat, tis HTC branded now and everything works nicely. The auto-network configure is great, sets up all the T-Mobile stuff nicely and got push mail set up from my works exchange server along with gmail.
Boots a lot quicker and hopefully i'll be rid of the daily reboots i had to do due to the clock or weather graphics going blank.
Interesting!!!
Hi!
As a newbee to ROM updates etc, I likewaise have an MDA Touch Plus that is running wm6.0.
Could you suggest where I can get the relevant copy of the Offical HTC WM 6.1 update ?
Cheers
Ron

how to upgrade my HTC TYTN (Hermes)

i know this is probably somewhere and il get told off for asking this but i have searched and searched for the past 3 days now and just got a load of confusing stuff about Olipro Hard SPL 2.10 (which i have now worked out to be a boot loader..... i think....) but most the links i found go to a nonworking wiki page..... can some one give me a simple how to guide??? I am completely new to WM and flashing these devices so i have no idea what i am doing.....
thankyou for any help you can give me
edit: the main thing a actualy need is to use my 8GB microSD card... if there is a simple update i can put with WM5 then that would be perfect!!!!
edit 2: im running on Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack OS 5.1.461 (Build 15671.3.3.0) i think there is a more recent version of this but its not on the htc website..... and i cant find anything anywhere....
Hi,
I am also new to this forum and to using Winmo but to flash your rom to one of the cooked roms available on this site you just need to connect your Hermes to your pc and make sure that active sync is connected up. Make a backup of your data such as contacts, messages, etc. Then you need to run Olipro Hard SPL 2.10 as that will prevent a bad install from turning your Hermes into a brick. Find more info about that and download Hard-SPL-V7.zip at the bottom of the first post on following page.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
Once you have finished running Hard-SPL you can then run one of the Roms here. I am using Shamanix`s WM6 Ultimate v2 FINAL at the moment which is really nice.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359917
But there are loads of other really cool cooked roms which I will try out sometime. Next one I will try is CRCs Release 13.5 - Stable which looks very cool too.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387990
Hope that helps some. Cheers, t_t

in your device check the software version and the radio version
and give it to me... i'll give you the link from where to download the same rom
rom version 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE
radio version 2.07.51.22_2
there .....
its really strange that i cant find any of the great developers and programes on this site to help me in my problem
as it was stated in another threaduntil noe ther is no way to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom .
I perfectly see what you mean, its a problem for me too: i modded my 1.66 stock rom so heavily that it would take days to reconstruct my perfect running hd2 in case an update to new 3version stock or flash of cooked rom fails at all and/or dissatisfies me.
then i want to go back to the previous perfect state by just flashing my cutomized stock rom without any additional hazzle
Sashimi won't do this, no other app won't do this..........
Even Spb backup won't do this as I had to learn the hard way since reflashing seems to be not the same as just upgrading a rom .........
some things happen in the rom that we still do not fully understand ......
I have the same concern as winner1. I want try out some custome roms, but before that it would be nice to have some sort of backup of my stock rom.
troed mentioned there is no to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom. So there is the option of downloading a stock rom.
As a matter of fact I am a total noob and I have no idea on what i must to pay attention to. Could someone help me to find a download of my stock rom, please?
Despite there is no hardware-branding, I don't know if my rom is software-branded. It would be nice to have a branded rom if there was one.
I bought my HTC HD2 from the service provider Three in Austria in August this 2010.
Here are some additional information about my phone:
OS-Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) / WM 6.5 Pro
Manila-Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version: 1.66.407.1 (76641) GER
ROM-Date: 01/11/10
Radio-Version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocoll-Version: 15.32.50.07U
Thank you for your effort and time.

The fact that your rom version is 1.66 tells us that although the phone is on 3, the rom isn't rom locked, so you use default HTC roms, not branded roms. (Which would have a 1.7x version)
Unless i am mistaken, this means you need the 1.66 HTC GER stock rom, which (amazingly) can be found on teh HTC germany website under support, pick your phone, downloads, rom updates., or, as per post two of this thread, the official roms thread, first post, first link, 1.66 folder, and teh one you want is called
RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
If you download it from teh htc website, you can confirm its the correct one by using your serial number, because it wont let you download it if its not correct.
