Recording Phone Conversations? - HTC Startrek

Can anyone verify for me whether or not this device can record a FULL phone conversation. There are a few programs out there that do it, but most HTC devices can only record your voice (outgoing) and can't capture the incoming voice.
The sole purpose of this device for me would to be to record each and every conversation I have on it!
Thanks in advance for anyone who can give me any info!

you can try this one:
VITO Audio Notes V1.32
it's work good

Thanks man. I'm actually going to build my own app that only records the conversations from selected numbers (or people). I've used the vito software on some PDA devices and it was never able to record the incoming voice... only my voice. So you're saying that VITO audio notes captures both sides of the conversation? Thanks for the answer!

I use vito audio notes in my cellphone, and it works just all right. It can record the sounds of both.

no software as compared to symbian phones in windows mobile will work well.
there are lot of software but it wont be able to record clearly esp calling person statement,
I disagree.....
I'm using this software.....
And this software really works good.
You can allow this software to record incoming/outgoing call automatically
Set the Bit rate and quality of sound...& a lot more
What else you want...???
No earing sound
I disagree with you. I´ve been using either Resco Audio Recorder, or Vito Audio notes (which is better in my opinion) and both have poor earing volume, almos no soun at all.

Hi Guys,
After struggling for almost 2 years finally I found a way to record both parties voice without putting call on speakerphone. You need to install the attached file and then soft reset your device and bingo you are able to record voice using Vito Audio Notes. I have tested it and its working like charm. Call Recording

Hello, did anyone figure it out to get Call Recording working on the Rose?
Just asking this because people got it working on the Kaiser and the hardware seems similar....?
I'm also very interested.
I need to record a voicemail I recieved and the only recording options I've found simply record the microphone.
And the 2 standard recording apps don't work at all during a phonecall (not even recording from the microphone).
Have never tried it, but there's a thread for other devices here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496303 (just read the top part and grab the CAB file)
A possible free solution, sounds nice...
However I already got from a Dutch forum (pocketinfo.nl) 2 tips:
- Resco Audiorecorder
- Vito Audio Notes
I tested them and both seem to work well.
Soundquality good (at least as good as is possible with sound from a phone).
Vito Audio Notes is the winner for me (only tested phonecall recordings) because of 2 reasons:
- In the filename the name of the contact is included besides date and time of the recording (Resco should do this also, according to their website, but I got only date and time during my limited testing)
- Cost $ 7 (Resco costs $ 24,95)
I purchased Vito Audio Notes last night, so trying a free solution is a now unnecessary for me.

Free or not. I was just wondering about a solution which had both sides call recording. But you are saying that Vito Audio Notes on the Rose/S740 is working for both sides ?

I got it working!
1) I installed the "2 Way Recording.CAB" from the above thread
2) Rebooted the phone
3) Installed VITO Audio Notes
Nice to hear it works.
Actually, 2 way recording also works with Vito Audio Notes without first installing the "2 Way Recording.CAB".
I suspect you now simply have 2 call recording applications on your phone.

Yep. Actually, VitoAudioNotes doesn't work w/o 2WRec for me (just speaker recording). And honestly, having the comfort and usability of VANotes is worth it.
Well, curious about the positive reviews (here and in original thread) I also installed 2 way recording (does a few changes in the registry) to try its effect. It also has improved the quality of my recordings with Vito Audio Notes.
If case you have installed the "2 Way Recording.CAB" and the sound quality is poor, change:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTCAUDIOGAIN]
"AUDIO_DEBUG_FLAG"=dword:00000040
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTCAUDIOGAIN]
"AUDIO_DEBUG_FLAG"=dword:00000000
DO NOT USE Resco Audiorecorder
I had many hard days to find out what causes my battery to discharge very quickly. Later I found out that my loudspeaker stayed on after each received call had finished, i.e. I could hear a slight noise from the loudspeaker, even though I always used the earspeaker. First I thought that it was a ROM bug or something, I even contacted HTC support to help me resolve this issue.
Just it was an accident when I got the idea to uninstall the Audiorecorder to find out if it helped. And it really did!
So if you have installed this crap and have noticed the same symptoms you know from now on what to do.
Does Vito Audio Notes also work when making Calls via Skype Mobile?
MH
Hi i have installed the 2 way recording file and recording with Vito Audio Notes 1.37 the other side voice is quiet faint and i tried the reg settings you mentioned, but i dont have HTCAUDIOGAIN at all, how do i get the other side voice more clearer.
Thanks
Do NOT install Resco Audiorecorder. I already had it. It causes fast battery discharge. After each call the speaker remained on.

In Call Recording possible?

Is in-call recording of both sides of the conversation possible on the X10? Are both sides voices recorded clearly and there is no need to use the speaker in order to record both sides?
Check out v Recorder in the android store. I think that might be what your looking for.
Sent from my X10i using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I wasn't looking for a suggestion, thanks though. I am actually more interested in a confirmed report by a X10 owner/user that this is actually possible on the X10 before I buy the phone (I am on X1 at the moment and call recording isn't possible on X1).
I'm afraid that the incall recording uses the speaker to record the other persons voice.
Call Recorder has positive comments for perfect working.
it costs 0.99 pounds.
does (only) work with android 1.x .
Are you sure that the opinions expressed here"http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-opensystem-callrecord-jjDw.aspx"
are positive??
not completely positive ..
the german market gives me a 5* rating for it .. sorry ..
hope we'll find a workaround for it, i'd really like to have a recording option.

I am using the excellent cooked Energy Rom by NRGZ28 which is also based on the Touch HD and has the in-call recorder included, but it doesn't work on X1. As I said - I am following all the threads regarding this issue and no-one seems to have found a way to make in-call recording work on X1, but if you know for a fact that this is doable please post a URL of a thread that explains how it's done.

try this
Once you have dialed a call, press the notes icon (post-it note with tack through it). This will open up the notes application. From there choose Menu->View Recording Toolbar. The toolbar will open up on the bottom of the screen and will allow you record both sides of the conversations while writing or typing

That's exactly what I meant when I wrote that clear and proper 2-way recording is not possible on the X1.
If you tried your suggestion you will see that you can record your own voice very loud and clear, but can barely hear the other side, which is actually recorded from the ear speaker and not straight from the phone.
I have a SE K750i which, for example, which record both sides of the conversation at the same high volume, perfectly. That's what I am talking about...

I think that we are moving away from the issue, now as far as call recording on the X10 is concerned i've just come across an app that "seems" to be recording both sides of the conversation well enough,it's Killer Mobile Total Recall v.1.00.
I've downloaded the "Full" app and will try it and post feed back.

Hi,
I have an X10 and downloaded "Total Recall Trial". You had to restart the phone, but after that it record the call like a charm, BOTH WAYS!!!
No "beep" at all. Some recorders have "beeps" every minute.
Will defenitley buy this app as soon as I can. Live in Sweden, so paying for apps is not yet available through Market! :-(
To listen to the calls after I use an app named "aPlayer".

This one i know what i'm talking about....
call recording depends on local and state laws. Some states/countries it is against the law to record phone conversions. While it other only one of the two party members must be made aware of the recording and very very few allow one to record a phone call with out either member knowing.
I would first HIGHLY suggest looking into your local laws regarding this prior to doing it. You could get in some trouble over it.
I know Google Voice will allow you to record incoming calls, but not out going calls. Other than that i do not know of program that will allow you to do this.
this is mainly for when i call customer service lines so there is no problem as they record it as well. plus i'm in a state where only one party (myself) needs to be informed.
edit: tried vrecorder but it records from microphone. no biggie but who likes to use speakerphone?
i read somewhere that android itself limits the recording. can anyone clear this up for me?
I've tried a few of them- all of them were OK if using speaker. without speaker only your voice can be heard and the other side only very faint, if heard at all.
now I an using "record my call" (with the ugly big red button) and it is relatively working fine most of the time. I like it because it enables you to classify as important, delete record etc after the call...
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Android doesn't have any mechanism for recording incoming audio in the OS. For some reason it's missing, even though Android is not bound to US borders, and call recording is perfectly legal in other parts of the world. This is the reason why there are few programs to record calls on Android, and none of them work w/o using speaker.
The only existing way to record would be to put the phone on speaker and use any voice recorder you want.
I use "allcallrecorder" just search for it in the market. Works great for me.

[Q] best call recorder

whats the best call recorder for stock galaxy 2 ICS, have a tried a couple but they seem to only record my side, other side is very faint and cant hear it
I've found that the best voice recorder in general is AndRecorder. The sound is great and you can email the files in .wav format.
I'm guessing the call will have to be on speaker though for the sound to be good enough. I personally have recorded a few phone calls this way & it worked like a charm.
I remember a distro for Milestone... one of our forum mates who "cooked" the rom put a native voice recorder on the ROM. Soon i remember, i put the name here.
