I don't think that's possible but I'll be monitoring to find out if it is, that'd be sick. Good luck.

If Conference Calling is available from your carrier, have you ordered it?

I just wish that I could go back to the 1st caller after ending call with 2nd caller.....

first call someone as you normally would
then once the call is established press the send key in the bottom left hand side
you will here a tone(other caller will note be able to hear you at this point) dial the next number and press the send key and wait till the pick up
then press the send key and all three people will here each other

give it up CDMA phones are not like GSM phones they dont support conference calling correctly the swap and join call functions arent available! they wont even appear on the phone u have to keep pressin send to switch b/w callers and conference mode...now lets make the situation even worse when your switching b/w these modes the touch pro WONT'T display on screen who you're talking to!! so you could be saying something to the wrong person or even worse the caller on the other line could be on conference hearing all callers without u knowing!!...my advice just call the person bak when your call is done.

[SOLVED]Incoming diverted call notification

I'd like to bring again into attention this lack of functionality of both Android and WinMo devices.
As far as I know, with the exception of Nokia and some Sony-Ericson devices, no others notify about receiving a call made on a diverted phone.
That is, if I have 2 numbers (A and B) and A is diverted to B, if I receive a call on A I don't see a "diverted" icon (or sign of any kind) on the phone with number B.
Still no solution or software for this?
P.S. Also when you call somebody and you are waiting on line (the other party has "call waiting" activated), there is no "waiting" sign to notify you.
This call waiting issue is also present on iPhone. I don't understand why these two functions are not present in smartphones (except Nokia Symbian) and at the same time the cheapest dumb phones have them
Actually, call waiting works for me. Whenever I am on a call and someone else calls, I hear a beep and I can see on the screen that I have another call. If I don't answer, the other call stays in my call history as an unanswered call.
About the first issue, I wondered about that too. I had a really dumb Sony Ericsson phone which supported this feature.
P.S. I misread your call waiting issue... Whenever I call someone who has call waiting I get a beep that tells me I am waiting... However, as far as I know this is an operator feature. On another operator a voice actually tells you to wait because the other party is talking.

I didn't switch to another operator, I just switched from Nokia E66 to iPhone and later to Legend when I lost that feature.
i get another issu too !!
and am sure you all get it ..
in (smart) dumb phones when i call my manager (and my manager is already talking in a call with his wife for example) it gives me different call sound tone, to notify me he is in a call so i stop calling and wait to call again later ...
in (stupid) smart phones, Windows Mobile and Legend !
if i call my manager and he is already in a call, i never hear anything to notify me! so i dont stop my call , and it really seems so stupid and disturbing from me sometimes !
the reason is what ?
i dont really know ....
is it that much hard to put these simple options ?
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=11026
... suggests that the functionality is within the stock Android dialler, but not in the HTC dialler. Use a ROM that allows you to install the standard dialler and use that by default?

I was talking about "call waiting" notification when you are calling someone that has call waiting function, not when you are the one that is called and you're notified about a second incoming call. biomy explained better the idea that I was talking about.
And no, there is not about the operator. You can have a nokia on any carrier, it'll work the same. It's just the way the phone or it's software decodes the incoming call signal. As this is received by all phones the same, I presume any phone/software can decode it in the same way nokia is doing if it has this implemented. As far as I know though, there is no application on the market (paid or free) that does this simple thing. I'm sure most of us will even pay for it.
Same here.. All calls from my boss diverted to my number if he didn`t pick up phone in 10 seconds.. My old Nokia 6233 show green arrow for diverted calls, but no any notification about it with my Samsug Galaxy Spica and Samsung Galaxy S.

Any updates on this please?
I have the same issue. No diverted call icon when an incoming call which has been diverted comes through
No update...seems like nobody has found a solution to it. Still waiting, pity we don't have such thing
Maybe we're not so many that needs this, in order for someone to start looking and develop something. My hope is that a developer will need this feature at some time and he'll start doing it. (or we should find a Nokia with Android )
If some android phones have the diverted call notification (galaxy s on 2.1) can the code be ported to other devices?
I divert calls from my work phone to my personal mobile, and really need to be able to tell when I'm receiving a diverted call from my work number
Samsung is the second phone brand that includes this in all or most of their phones. Doesn't matter if it's Android or not, Nokia and Samsung has this feature (and as I know they're the only ones to do it).
Maybe there is hope if an Samsung Android phone (Galaxy S) has it...maybe there will be a developer that will try to find a way or reverse engineer the ROM to find the code for it. I am willing to pay for it for sure and I'm sure some other will as well.
Diverted Call Display app for Android
After the issue bothered me enough, I have made an attempt at detecting incoming diverted calls.
The app is using the device log to find out if an incoming call is diverted, and thus needs READ_LOGS permission. READ_PHONE_STATE is needed to get notified about incoming calls.
So far the app has been tested on CyanogenMod 5 and 7 on GSM/UMTS phones. It probably won't work at all on CDMA devices and neither on devices which already implement any type of diverted call notification.
Please test if it works for you and tell me your Android firmware version (and if it's an AOSP-based community firmware).
Nexus S 3G i9023, CM7.1.0-NS - works well )) Thank you.
Xperia Arc 2.3.4 original rom OK.
I would like to be saved in the call log.
It works perfect in HD2, HyperDroid-CM7-v5.3.0 [CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.7][seader_R9].
Thanks
That's a great thing, you've made...alot of people happy.
Unfortunately, I've changed my Legend and replaced it with a Desire S. Playing with other ROMs, I've finally installed a MIUI ROM and it seems this "diverted notification" IS integrated in MIUI. So for me the problem was solved by having a MIUI ROM. Though I'll ask my friend who's now the owner of my ex Legend to test this...he's still using CM 7.1 on it.
Works fine on Motorola Defy with MIUI 2.3.5.
Thank You very much Ge0rG for such a beautiful solution of that problem.
Can you please add to your application notification for "call waiting" and "on hold"?
Because Motorola's and HTC's doesnt have this features.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
P.S. I was talking about "call waiting" notification, when you are calling someone that has call waiting function & you call him on the second line.
Brilliant... Works a treat for me...
HTC Desire HD - Stock (Orange UK) ROM.
Android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.6.55.10
Thanks - brilliant idea and well implemented - congratulations.

Works on Nexus One with actual cyanogenmod nightly (cm_passion_full-253, 7.2.0-RC0(?)). Perfekt!
It will be great, if this could be included in cyanogenmod directly.

Call waiting when 3rd party is on the call.

Hello
I'm not being notified if I call someone and they're on the phone. I should be receiving a call waiting notice, anyone know how to turn this on please
I have a Galaxy SII
2.3.4
Thank You
Go into the dialer and depending on the rom it will be somewhere in the settings. Mine's in dialer/settings/settings/incoming call status/call waiting.
And frankly, this is pretty basic. You should be able to find something like this by going thru every setting on your phone. I know that's the first thing I do when I get a new phone :-/

i have done the setting which you have mention but still when i call someone on there cell phone, it should come up with " Call waiting" meaning that the person is already on the phone who i am calling
Hepe i explained it right
Thank you
Hang on. If you call someone who's already on a call, you should get an engaged signal and probably number busy or similar on the screen. That has nothing to do with call waiting, call waiting happens when you're on a call and a 2nd person tries to call you. You should get a beep or similar to tell you there's a 2nd call for you.
If you call someone who's already on a call, you should get an engaged signal and probably number busy or go to there voice message if there don't have call waiting setup.
If there have call waiting setup then you should see on your screen "waiting"
Sorry
I think this is a service provider thing. It works on Vodafone but i am T-mobile

Not getting missed calls?

Hey guys,
I'm with Vodafone (Australia) and lately I've been working in my garage a fair bit where I don't have reception. During this time numerous people have called me, however I don't receive any notifications of missed calls at all. And when I go into phone log it doesn't show any call logs.
Is this a setting on the phone or should I contact Vodafone to get this sorted?
Cheers
Good question Jonno. I'm also with Voda & honestly couldn't remember if this feature was working properly or not as I haven't missed a call for ages (people know not to call me at unsociable hours when I have the phone switched off ).
Soooo...I plonked my mobile broadband sim into my Nokia backup phone, turned my SGS2 to flight mode (to mimic not having coverage), called it from the Nokia & let it ring half a doz times then hung up.
Switched the SGS2's radio back on & haven't received a missed call notification (it's been almost 5 minutes). I've searched high & low thru my call settings & can't find anything that would turn such a feature on/off so I'm betting it's a network related thing. I'll update this post if the missed call notification comes thru at any stage tonight.
Yeah I've never got any missed call notifications with the phone. I have people trying to get on to me regarding some recent job applications so it's not very useful if I miss their calls and don't know who to call back!
Might try calling Voda tomorrow to see if they know anything about it...
Jonno...The thick plottens
I was ferreting around in the dialer/call settings & had a look at the call forwarding settings. Basically, forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable is set to that Voda number people who try to call you get when you don't answer & it asks whether you want Voda's "call catcher" to txt the person you're try to call to let them know they missed your call (with the number to call back on).
When I try to disable this feature on any of busy/unanswered/unreachable it tells me the network doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. So it seems Voda thinks their way of people being able to notify you by txt when you miss their call is the best way (only way by the looks of it) for this situation to be handled.
So I'd say people obviously haven't been choosing the option to send you a notification txt (via Voda's call catcher) and have simply been hanging up when they've been unable to reach you.
I guess the only way to get around this is to tell people to use the send notification txt option or to simply send you a txt themselves to say they tried to call & couldn't get you.
Unless you want to have fun calling Voda's uber helpful support ?

[Q] Any app to let others know that I'm not on Call Waiting?

What I want is a bit complicated. But I'm sure there might be an app which can do it. I've enabled call waiting in my Android. However, I don't wanna know the person on my other end to know I'm talking with someone else. What I want is, the other caller should get the normal ringing tone while I'm already talking to other person. I've seen it in some cheap Samsung phones (2/3/4 years back).
I want that none knows while I'm talking. If I turn off call waiting, the other call will not be able to call me. The call will not go to the ringing process. I want one hear the ringing tone as if I'm talking to nobody. ANy app?
no app

[Q] Forward all calls when out of range instead of unanswered

After a bunch of clicking and rebooting I got auto call forwarding working when Bluetooth disconnects, but it's not what I expected. It's only forwarding calls when unanswered.
I want to walk away from the phone and leave it behind and have calls forwarded immediately, all calls. I thought that was the point of this feature. I don't want them to have to ring for 20 seconds.
Is there some way to make this happen? I noticed it changes the network settings for unanswered, busy, and unreachable to forward, but all call forwarding is never enabled by auto forward.

You could try this
AT&T and T-Mobile both use the same method, which lets you change the number of rings right from your phone. To do it:
Dial *#61# from your phone. Tap Send.
You should see a new screen that displays a bunch of information about what's getting forwarded. You should see a line under "Voice Call Forwarding" that says "Forwards to +11234567890" (where 11234567890 is an eleven digit phone number, likely different from your phone number). Write down this number and tap Dismiss.
Now, dial **61*+11234567890*11*XX# and hit Send, where 11234567890 is the number that you found in step two and XX is the number of seconds you want to wait until voicemail picks up. You can set it in increments of 5, where 30 seconds is the maximum.
After you hang up that call, you can have someone call your phone and see if it worked. On some phones, you can dial *#61# again and see how long it's delaying your calls, but our test phone (the iPhone) did not show this information.
Alternatively, you should be able to call AT&T or T-Mobile customer service and have them change it from their end, if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself.
Another thing that may work for you is to get up a google voice number and just give people that number. Then you they call you, it will ring at both numbers and you wont have to use the call forwarding option.
If only I was not in an area were I cant port my current cell number over to google voice, i would have dont that years ago.

THIS is true I have google voice I haven't ported my number over but I get calls and text fine from both numbers
So while messing around with the settings for google voice and the gear s, I have found that if you activate google voicemail on your phone then the call forwarding option will not work when remotely connected to your gear. Calls forwarded TO the gear s work as they should. As soon as I deactivate google voicemail on my phone, and my phone & gear are connected remotely I have no issues with getting my calls from my main cell phone line forwarded to the gear. This is kind of a bummer cause I was hoping that i'd be able to use google voicemail and thier transcription service because tmo charges $3 per month for it. Womp comp. I rarely get voicemails so it's not the end of the world.

I have a call forwarding widget on my Note 3 that I use all the time. It instantly forwards all calls to whatever number you wish. Works great as when I'm in my office at work, I have it forwarded to my land-line, same at home, etc. I do this now on my Gear S too as like you, I don't want to have people wait through long numbers of phones ringing before it reaches me.

They both use the same conditional forward entry for your line. You can only have one. Not both. If you want to forward to Gear S, your own voice mail will never be reached. And vice versa.

I suppose, but honestly, it's not that hard to just get on the play store and look them up. They all function pretty much the same. The one I use is RedirectCall. All one word. Very simple and works great.
I couldn't get it to forward right away either. It's pretty simple to actually just forward the call to the Gear S manually. On T-Mobile devices dial **21*your ten digit number# then when you want to cancel it dial ##21# that's it works like a charm. I use tasker now to do it automatically and have had no hiccups. Although it would be nice if it just worked correctly through gear manager.
