USB pen driver

Hi there,
is there a solution to use the XDA as a usb pen drive to save data from pc and to retrieve data from XDA to, as with a pen drive?
With infrared connection is possible to send files to and from the pc, but with USB? It always asks for activesync, but I don't want to install activesync in every pc's I go.
Thank you,
Rudy.
try doing a search on usb storage controller
or something like that
i seem to recall that somebody had an url to a driver
which would let the pc see the pda as an such
I've tried to search but I wasn't able to find nothing.
Could you help me, please?
Rudy
http://xda-developers.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1826&highlight=usb+storage+driver
seek and thou shall find
otherwise get me to do it
hope this help
thank you rudegar but in that topic there is nothing about using the XDA as a storage device, but rather how to connect a storage device to the XDA.
Any other help ?
rudy
if you read the whole thread you'll se that, i think it's the 3th post a person give a go at helping but insted of giving info as to how to use a storage device on the xda he give an url to what you are looking for
the link provided in the 3rd post is:
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/usbmassstoragedriver.shtml
but this is how to use a storage device on the XDA, not as how to use XDA AS A storage device.
Or am I misunderstanding something?
rudy
my bad i misread the conclusion of that other post
Rudegar hang head in shame

Bionix fusion can't mount pc?!

I'm trying on my work comp and it's says un known hardware... Is it fusion?. Im on mass storage
Vibrant Bionix
running fusion here..
This has happened only on my work computer and not my laptop at home.
go to settings / applications / development and turn off USB debugging. Then go to USB settings and set it to ASk On connection. Turn USB Debugging back on.
Now when you plug in it is gonna ask you how you want to connect. I believe you select mass storage and your computer should recognize. Then you mount your SD to your computer.
This is what I did to get it to connect to my work computer. Afterwards i reverted my settings back to normal and my phone connects to my laptop.
Hope that works.
your pc is probably not able to download the drivers....

You nailed it. Thanks man. Anyway around it?.. The net is locked down pretty tight so probably not huh?

Download the drivers from another pc and attach it via a usb storage drive and transfer it to your pc and install. (windows should already have the drivers pre-installed for USB drives).

How to use the internetconnection of PC

Hey is there a way to use the internetconnection of my laptop on my P500 over USB or at least over WLAN. I use Windows XP so I can't setup my PC as Hotspot as on Windows 7. I don't have a intel card either.
Over USB im not sure but over wlan u sure can. u just need to set the router/modem up for WiFi.

Tethering USB doesn't work on my HD2

I've cooked my latest Android ROM with "cyanogenmod_183" and latest tytung's kernel "r_12_beta", and my tethernig USB doesn't work!
Instead, wi-fi hotspot work very fine!
When connect my USB cable to the PC (Windows 7), it doesn't detect my PDA... and i can not even use my phone as USB Mass Storage.
I've included into my rom, the files "hosts" and "resolv.conf" for HD2.. but nothing to do...
When tap to activate Tethering USB, i see the error message "USB not connected"! 0_o
Where i wrong? How i can fix this problem?
Thanx to all..
I hoped for any answers... it's possible that on the famous xda no one can explain me how i can fix my problem or where i've wrong? 0_o
We aren't all informatic engineers.. no everybody has attended a school in computer science! I'm here to learn... i've searched for any topic that can resolve my problem, but i can't find it...
I hoped for any answers, but also only one answer with this text: "we don't want help you!" would be sufficient!!!
Did you install the drivers ?
Sent from my Ultima Weapon© using XDA App
I've read in someone thread that the only two files
that i need are these two:
hosts
resolv.conf
[\QUOTE]
Are these the drivers? If not, can you tell me
how i can install them?

Hosts is found in C:/Windows/system32/etc/drivers

I don't have "etc/drivers" folders in my Windows/system32 folder...
I've created them manually, and i've copyed and pasted into them the files "hosts" and "resolv.conf"... i've restarted my PC.. but nothing to do! 0_o
I can not sync my Android Phone with my PC...!
I've tryed to activate sync from dedicated icon on my PDA, but without success..
Can you explain me how i can resolve this problem?

Does USB mass storage works - in other words, does your phone show the USB logo in the notification bar on the top (and when you pull down the notification bar, you should have a notification to enable USB mass storage drive).
See if that works - that is the indication that the computer is detecting the phone. Also check your device manager to see if Android phone is listed.
Finally, you will get better help if you post in the HD2 Android Q&A section.
Problem solved... i've forget the bin file named "vold" in "system/bin" folder!
The two files "hosts" and "resolv.conf" that i've pasted into "system/etc" folder aren't enough... they need a binary file named "vold" into "system/bin" folder to work properly!
Now my HD2 Tethering USB work very fine!
Thank you for the answers!
