Android OS updates - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the likelihood of HTC pushing out an updated image for the Hero when Android 2.0 comes along? I asked one of their customer services guys, and didn't get an answer, he just said he didn't know.

Was just about to ask this myself! I asked the same question to HTC customer services...same reply.
What is their track record in these matters?

HTC not planning a WM6 Upgrade

HTC not planning a WM6 Upgrade for Current Devices?
By JNGold, posted Wednesday, Feb. 14th, 2007
XDA Developer forum member swartb received an email regarding a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for his current HTC P3600. Basically, HTC responded with a reply that no upgrade path would be offered for current devices, leaving only newly released devices getting some WM6 love.
This is in stark contrast to what other OEM's (and even mobile carriers) have initially stated regarding upgrading existing devices.
Anybody remember what Gerald Ford told NYC back in the 70's that made the front page of the newspapers? Kind of the same thing here.
Bad news indeed if this comes to pass

We won't know what happens until it happens, but there are others who say there will be "some" upgrades...

[Q] Android OS for HTC Tilt2

I have a unlocked HTC Tilt 2 and I was wondering if I can put the Android OS on it? How can I do that? Also, is there a way to use it with a Boost Sim card?
Currently it has Windows 6.5, but I'd rather have Android...I got it on the AT&T website, but have recently unlocked it...if I can't get it to work with a Boost Sim, what is the best service to use? I know I'm asking a LOT of questions in this thread...but I'd like to be able to use this phone...can anyone help me out? I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Welcome to XDA!

As this is not really the right place ask.

[Q] I e-mailed HTC about Windows 7 and the HTC Leo and got this ...

So thought I would show you all their answer
Dear Tom.Hazell,
Hi,
Unfortunately, at this time HTC and Microsoft do not have plans to offer Windows Phone 7 upgrades to any existing HTC phones. HTC is working closely with Microsoft to bring Windows Phone 7 to market later this year.
Thank you for contacting HTC
Best regards

This has been known for a long time now.
I keep seeing different answer all over the place so thought I would actually e-mail them.
Their official stance has always been "No" since that post came out. It's only a matter of time til it's ported over like Android was. If you search you can find the post where someone shows WP7 booting to an HD2 already. I think the guys name is Cotulla?
Im surprised you even got a reply.......

Honeycomb HTC's answer!

Thank you for contacting HTC regarding your HTC Flyer.
I understand that you are currently enquiring about the Wi-Fi update. At this point in time I cannot confirm or deny future updates to . For this reason I would suggest you to follow our official website and social media networks for further announcements.
I apologise I cannot give you more information but HTC closely guards its privacy when it comes to future software and products, we find out information about the same time as you!
The Wi-Fi update will be released at a seperate time to the ROM update so that our server's aren't strained to cope.
I hope that this information meets with your requirements. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me again.

So they release an update and say the wifi version will follow after? but have no date? and now can't confirm if it's even going to happen?
Don't sweat, It's going to happen, eventually, maybe, I think .

Is there a way to do the Android OS software updates to several devices at one time?

Hi,
First of all, moderators please feel free to move this thread to the correct section if I'm wrong.
This is the story: we have received 80 Samsung S8 in our company to replace he old S5 ones. The problem that we are facing is that we can't deliver the new devices to the users without all the software upgrades. So, we have to go one by one trough the update process thee times!! with it's corespondent reboots and checks on every device.
So the question is as the thread title shows, is there a way to bulk update several devices at the same time? I mean, not by doing it by hand but in an automated way.
I've been digging on google but I can't find nothing on this matter. Maybe I'm just blind or that there it isn't a way to do it.
Hope some one can help. Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ouch, no one?
Any ideas?
