Cant Send MMS With Hero - Tmobile US

I Actually just got my HTC Hero a few days ago and i have not been able to send picture messages. Im on Tmobile US and have tried just about very combianation of apn's possible and with a Big NO GO. I Also contacted T-mobile but they were unable to help me and i even talked to various reps.
Ok so well everything else on my phone works just fine such as calling, sending normal text, using the internet and RECEVING Picture! But i just cant send them. Is there anyone else with this problem and were you able to find a solution? I've had my phone rooted since i received it so i dont know if after rooting it stopped working cuz i never tried that. I would like to unroot my phone but i just dont know how. I would need a nandroid backup of an unrooted image so if anyone wants to help me with that. I'd appreciate it!
Thanks to anyone who can help!

well at last its good to know im not the only one! IT just pretty much sucks knowing that there is no one to help you out!
Im still under 15 days Return Policy so its actually in mind sending the phone back and maybe waiting for the US Version! But 2 months without a phone is nuts....
May not be many because its not released in the US yet - You MIGHT get some luck by asking on the Sapphire Forum. The board and hardware of the Hero is VERY similar to the Higher Ram Sapphire (Magic) usually referred to as 32A device or Rogers Magic.
They are officially released on TMO US so a US poster might be able to share their exact APN settings with you to try. Just a thought...might be worth a try

@ Dayzee.
Well as stated previously the apn settings are the correct ones so thats not the Issue. I also comfirmed this with T-mobile!
Im very Familiar with android as i had the g1 since it came out then i got myself a magic 32A. and now i have a Hero. So i have a good understanding of all this.
I will however try the Sapphire forums as the Hero forums are very small due to the fact that the phone just came out and considering that most users on here are rather new to android and will not be of much help to me.!
Thanks Anyway.
Just trying to help. Not sure it needed a "lol at dayzee" but good luck with it.
yeah, i just read my post and didn't sound too good. Ive gone ahead and edited the "lol'..........
I don't know if the MMS.apk might have anything to do with it so i will go ahead and port the MMS.apk from Cyanogens build and try that!
Forget it I'm an idiot and didn't read.

WALLABY,akaQtek1010,sx56,etc. SpecialEd.Rom Fail, is it good for anything?

Hi all, I have been trying to find a starting point for learning about programming. I have a wallaby and purchased XDA Tools a year or so ago, and like many I jumped into it with the idea of unlocking the sim features, long story short, I did not backup anything and tried to do it w/o a memory card and eventually I lost the bootloader and ended up with the black stripes with the two white boxes I have seen in others posts. I do not really care about its functionality as a phone, but is there anything else I could install such as games or another platform entirely? Just for a little practice, or fun? Thanks. Also you guys are truly rad for being as nice as you are about all of the repitition/noobs like me.

If you lost the bootloader, I don't know if there is anything that you can do with it. If you know how to do JTAG, you may be able to upload the bootloader that way, but I don't know enough about that to guide you. Sorry, but I think that you are going to end up having it for spares... Also, you bought xda Tools? I thought that was free from this site
Thanks Thunder1, I bought it as a sim unlocking package for wallaby specifically, at the time I had no idea that xda had a site and before I could even navigate the web really. Go figure, I want to flash and hack before I even know how to use basic features on my device, I will look into the j tag method you mentioned and hopefully I can use the j tag cable I got for my wrt54gtm router, I dont have a clue but I just keep reading. Thanks much.

[Q] HTC Desire

ok a few things here,im from australia on telstra and i have a HTC Desire,i have never been able to root my phone, ive tried a few times and for some reason the programs just stop and fail,i have a suspicion its the software build because its branded with telstra, any info on that would be great because i wanted to change the OS to android 2.3,then i saw that the HTC developer site has the official update out,but it could ruin my SMS and MMS,will this happen with my phone? it looks to be region specific but even then its iffy,if it does stuff up those features how can i fix it? and is this update the final one or will there be another thats proper and without bugs like this, any reviews on this particular build of update would be appreciated, would love the official but if i need to il root but i cant so any info here is great...sorry it dragged on,im kinda noob at all this lol

Where did everyone go? Electrify/photon is still alive

this section on xda for electrify/ photon is just about dead now. this Pisces used to be very active but now seems like everyone left. .... where did you guys go? just in the last few weeks this place went from a very active community to barely there.. .... massage someone should just start an electrify section and just post what ever works for electrify from photon there..... sure sprint gave the photon an eol but it is still an awesome phone! and us cellular still had their rebadged version for sale now.... so as i said. .. where did you all go? i miss you all.

Even knowing this, won't let me go away from Motorola.
After a month using Galaxy Nexus, I decided that Photon is better for me.
I'm still here, not for long, but I'm still here. Others check in here and there, but its getting far and few! as stated, 2.3.5, locked, bootloader!
Not to mention, HTC EVO 4G LTE, SGIII, AT&T Note........And why should I wait "Years" to get LTE (if years) when I can have it now?
nice to know I'm not the only one still here i love my electrify and I'm surprised more aren't working on locked bootloader. if i had any know how i would dedicate all my free time to attempting unlock. i have played with other phones and i love my electrify. only thing that would replace it at the moment would be a droid razr esque phone or a droid4 esque phone our the rumored photon q. .... if only my electrify could have ics..... dang bootloader

Yeah it feels like recently we're waiting for a new breakthrough or kernel source to appear, I think that would give the forums a kick in the butt.
But there has been some excitement over GSM finally being unlocked for use in the U.S. on the Photon, which is pretty awesome!

Me, too. Love my MoPho. I'm rooted, locked, and surviving quite nicely. The MoPho has allowed me to keep my rootaholic addiction under control. Hanging out here is like being in a bar and just drinking club soda. You can still be with your friends; just don't get the same buzz.
I've been here for a while, I'm not used to comment on threads so often, but I'm always reading new threads and the developers section stuff.
Well, I've had this phone for a couple of months, and I'm satisfied with it. My phone came rooted, I fixed the multitouch thing, changed the bootanimation and I can't wait to unlock it and try the Kitchen Sink rom
Im gonna be here pretty frequently as well

a new OTA update is coming soon. i imagine forms will be active when that happens.
people will be returning to stock to get it and then rooting again.

Link provided above. Btw xda search sucks. The best way to find anything on xda is to search it in Google. For example, for your 8 point mod I searched, "8 point mod, photon, xda" and it was the first link. Anytime I need to find something on xda I always search Google for it and it has always been within the first couple links

seems a bit more action head been going on today. just a bit more but still more. i love this small community here. and thank you tsdeaton for your link and tip.... even though our is almost common serve to use google i just figured allot of xda stuff would not be on google and xda's search would be be good for their open site .... but shears thanks. trucks to all who contribute and help each other here.

[Q]Unrooting and relocking bootloader?

So yesterday I got the one. Mainly for one reason, build quality and looks. Specs wise is awesome too, but since is already almost a year old I opted for jump! Anyway, I am a fan of rooting and getting my phone's to as close to vanilla android, never liked sense even though 5 seems really nice. Anyway, since I have jump, I was wondering if there is a way to unroot, but more importantly re-lock the bootloader so when the time comes I can turn it in without problem. I tried looking and came empty handed, sorry in advance if I didn't search thoroughly enough and thanks in advance for your help guys.
Edit: I've found it, I was looking at the wrong place here is what I was looking for :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618
Sorry about that.
