BodyGlove instead of dash mount or window mount - G1 Accessories

I was discussing this in another thread and thought it should be in its own so the pictures would not be lost in a haystack of info. I consider the bodyglove to be the best accessory for the G1
Most people are buying dash mounts or windshield mounts for their G1. I found them big and bulky. Plus the suction cup will leave a mark on your window which is what thieves look for.
I bought the bodyglove about 6 months ago and just recently realized I could clip it to my rear view mirror.
I've attached some pictures to show how clean your dash view is when attaching to rear view mirror.
Also pictures of it hanging on my laptop while charging.
The phone is nice and close for you to read. I bought co-pilot and it works great. Works just like tom tom or garmin. Easy to read streets and hear turn by turn directions.
Feels Safer since its under the rear view mirror. Which means you aren't looking at the dash when your driving. Your actually looking at the road and rear window. GPS picks up perfectly under the rear view mirror too.
And bodyglove is rubberized. I've dropped the phone a couple of times and it just bounces!
Note: This will probably not work on a fat rear view mirror that has bluetooth or compass or temperature or some other fancy thing. You need to have a thin spot on the mirror to clip it to. Normally the spot where the tab sits in the middle at the bottom of the mirror. If you really like this idea, you can replace your fancy rear view mirror with a standard one that has the flip tab in the middle bottom. Just depends on what you use most.

I kinda like it, but i'm not so sure about the way it looks, okay its protected and all, but less atractive/sexy.
I dtill dont know what i will use, the pocket that came with it is also nice and you can pull it out very fast.

I ordered myself 1.
I dropped my phone a few days ago, and it could only found 1 network (not mine) and ik could not charge the battery anymore.
Wish i had one so it would not be broke now.
30$ or 20€ to be delivered @ home.
I think i like it, i can attach it to to my rearview mirror i think. thanx for the tip !

Well worth the $30 investment for all the things you can use it for. It has has a kickstand on the clip that pulls out so you can stand it. I didn't take a picture of it. I normally don't use the kickstand, because I can turn it sideways and it stands perfectly using the clip.
Multiple uses. I'll have to post those pictures later.

T-Mobile finally came out with their own version of the Body Glove holder. One has the same design, minus the textured outer shell, and the soft inner linning. Covers all the same parts though, and hooks on your belt. I think it swivles too. They also have a holster, which is just one piece that clips to you belt, and which the G1 just slides in and out of. They both go for $19.99, which is about $12 less than the Body Glove.

I prefer the rubber texture on the bodyglove. I've dropped it a couple of times and no damage. I have not seen the tmobile case, is it hard?
You can get the bodyglove off of amazon for less than $15 which includes shipping.

Do you have a link to that skin ?

Just search amazon for bodyglove G1 and it should return a list.

This is it.

I bought it from here as well and I like the case alot. I went through 3 cases. The cheap plastic ones. ( white, clear and black) Though they werent that bad (in the beginning) and then starting breaking down a little. But thanks TS, I didnt even think about using it on the mirror like that, lol!

I just love it, and it looks a lot better in real then on pictures.
A must buy if you ask me !

Has anyone used this crystal case for the 8125?

Was thinking of ordering one of these since i had a similar one for my treo, just wanted to see if anyone has used one and how they like it...thanks

does the case stay on the phone securely?
I just saw that. Might have to try it for my son's 8125. He didn't like the aluminum case -- said it felt like he was carrying around a brick in his pocket-- and he REFUSES to use a belt clip (as in with the leather case I bought him). This might be an alternative solution to BOTH of those for him. Doesn't look as bulky to me as the aluminum case.
Cases
Hi there. This case looks nice. Please let us know if you give it a try. I just received a leather case. I sort of like it but always looking for something better.
Hey, I've got a crystal case on its way so once I receive it I'll post about it. It should be here by the middle of this week.
Hi there. I went ahead and ordered that crystal case as well. Should be here early this week.
I also just ordered the crystal case. Its coming form Hong Kong. So its probable a cheap rip off.
But I hate the leather case that came with my 8125.
And the alum cases is like carrying a paper weight around.
I think once the cheap plastic molds to your phone it will be nice.
Should be here next week also.
And I'll give it a good review.
Case Logic
Hi there. Received my crystal case from Hong Kong. Don't like it. The back piece just is not secure enough and I can see the phone popping off and flying head first into a cement floor and goodbye $428 Ebay non insured Phone. So far the leather case I bought is the winner of cases. I just don't like having to unsnap it every time I use the keyboard, and the phone can push out of the top with a little pressure. Still searching for the ultamate case.
Alright, I finally got my crystal case.
Pros:
-It was cheap, so at least I didn't waste alot of money.
-The front part of the casing stays on very well.
-It looks really nice.
-Keeping it clipped on my belt and using it without having to take it out of a leather case is convienient.
-The screen Protector works very well.
-*Most* of the buttons on the phone are still easily accessible.
Cons:
-The back part of the casing does not stay on well.
-It's really annoying to release the phone out of the belt clip. Even more annoying than having to take the phone out of a leather case.
-The two halves of the case don't fit well together, so the edges are uneven.
-With the keyboard slid out, the two soft buttons at the top of it are almost covered by the top of the case, making them really hard to use.
-The case also almost covers the Camera button, making that feature of my phone a pain to use.
Overall, I'm not really impressed, and I would not recommend buying one. The worst part about the case is that the back half of it won't stay on (that's right, the part that clips onto your belt), which worries me because I don't want to turn my phone into a paperweight while walking down the street. Even clipping it into the belt clip and just pulling slightly on the front of the phone, the whole back of it came right off. The front stays on too well and is a pain to take off. A good idea, a good attempt at a case, but not the best engineering.
Ok, I give you the ultimate case. For me anyway. It has replaced my wallet. The main part of the case I got off of ebay I think. It was actually for an audiovox pda. Search on ebay for XV6700 or PPC6700. The phone and screen location match the wizard.
It has three credit card slots for my most used cards. It has slot for full size sd card and stylus holder. (The one in the phone sucks am I right?) It certainly doesnt fit in a pocket (not even a large one) but the belt clip swivels, and is very tight. I clip it on my pants when I ride my motorcycle, and even at 70-80mph it has not fallen off yet. You actually have to yank pretty good to get it off (I know that doesnt sound too clean, you know what I mean) The snap is magnetic so it is also very secure, and the phone will not come out unless you open the flap.
I had to cut a hole in the bottom elastic so I can charge the phone while it is in the case, and I drilled a hole in the leather where the ear speaker is just in case I need to quickly answer the phone.
The extra pouch on the side is just a credit card case I bought at walmart. It was in the section by their dayplanners. I used some auto trim tape to stick it on.

review: Arkon tab stand

This stand can be found on Amazon for about 13.00 shipped prime!

The stand and all its capabilities:
So far its exactly what I was looking for. I had seen another Gtab reviewer on Amazon say that it just didn't fit well with the stand. I think it fits perfect and with the foam rubber grip/pad material on the stand you can actually just grab your Gtab to move to another table or something and the stand will stay attached because its so light. I like this as I move from location to location at work with my hands full. I would otherwise have to fold it down and put it in my pocket.
If anyone wants to know that bag is a caselogic that fits the Gtab perfect! The bag is going for like 9.00 + free shipping!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q3MA80
I also picked up the Skinomi carbon/screen protector for 24.00 + free shipping from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003F8UJAU I wont bother with pictures as everyone has seen this product. I will say the carbon is great and worth the money but the screen protector is almost a throw away item... with light reflection you can see all kinds of imperfections in it. I feel the material is just too soft and rubbery. I've got real look on my phone and it is the perfect protector IMO.
Thanks for doing this. Looks pretty good, I'll have to check it out.

No problem guys, I've got a "ipad" windshield car mount on its way that I will be doing a review on as well.http://www.usbfever.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=1991 After over a week of searching what is out there I decided on this because it looks the least generic, not noticeable with tablet installed, tab is quickly accessible, and the suction cup + dash stand should shield from vibrations. I took a gamble if the Gtab is going to fit with this though as I couldn't find any info if someone has used it yet. From the pictures of it holding the ipad it is a slim fit from the cutouts to the backing plate. I googled the specs and the Gtab is about 1mm thicker than the 1st I pad (which fits this) so I'm going to take my chances and if need be file out the cutouts. There are other nice mounts on that site that will work for sure but are more bulky.

Best Buy now has Rocket Fish leather folio cases. $50. No place to put pen.

I figure they decided we're used to getting hosed on the pen and on price.

I had to ask for them; they weren't yet on the shelves, but they are in stock, at least at my Best Buy.
Hardshell and Folio
I bought both today, but I figure I will just stick to the Folio case, see as the hardshell seems kinda pointless overall for my tablet. The Folio seems to fold into a stand, however mine didn't sit too well, I have a few photos but I hit my limit on upload I can post more if you need!
Edit: The Folio in Landscape kind of prevents pen button access, I dunno if this is just the way mine is cut or what...
Hmm. The way it rests in mime, pen access is unobstructed.
Saw from the other thread, that there are cutouts for speakers and camera. Also just noticed from the title, no place for the pen.
For $50 and no pen holder, I'm happy I didn't waite and got the Platinum case for the Galaxy tab for $15 cheaper. Does the same thing, with the stand, etc. Just a couple of easy modifications with sicsors and a hole punch.

So does your Flyer fit in your folio case with the hard shell on also because I have a tpu case on my flyer and I want to keep it on but hope to still be able to fit it in the folio case?
Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using XDA Premium App
Doesn't fit
Yeah vj092887 it does not seem to fit with the hardshell attached although I didn't really push very hard to get it into the folio when it had the shell on...
I have both of the RocketFish cases and I would not recommend putting the tablet in the leather case with the hard shell attached since it is too large and would likely stretch out the leather.
Warning about the RocketFish hard case. I removed it to add a microSD card and it was scuffing the aluminum on the Flyer. No scratches, but some aluminum shavings did come off. Although the aluminum is pretty to look at, it scuffs and scratches very easily. I honestly prefer the more resilient plastic, like on the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
I used the leather case from them and noticed it messed up my Xagg shield... so I had Best Buy replace the shield. I returned the case and got the zip up case that fits the 7" tablets. Much better! I -may- spend the $29 for the hardcase if I notice a scratch or two on the back.
-- Insert 2 cents here --
Looks similar to the Targus Truss case for Playbook. That has no hole for camera (but I don't use anyway) but does have pen holder. The Targus case just needs a strip of Styrofoam from the packing cut and inserted for the Flyer to fit in nice and tight.
I found this today http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0055EPO8O/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/183-0174799-8151867
Price is reasonable but I don't know how this fares to the rocketfish since I won't have my view until this friday.

No speaker holes or pen holder?
I have a journel case that has the HTC logo on the front... (got it off ebay for $44.39 AUD / $47.63 USD - expansys AU now stock it for cheeper here) not entirely sure if it is an official HTC case ... but:
The build quality is great
Fits really well
It has a place for the pen
It looks good and is barely bigger than the flyer
It has magnetic clips
It has a place for the pen
I have been using it for about a month and it doesn't seem to mark the flyer (unlike the rocket fish case)
Here is a pic of it from the net:
I will post some more of mine if you guys want

[Review] Photon OtterBox Commuter

OtterBox Commuter Review
Just got my OtterBox today, so thought I'd toss out some thoughts for those of you on the fence.
Those of you that aren't familiar with the OtterBox cases check out some info here OtterBox Case Series
Fit: This thing fits so effin nicely! I've tried the Commuter series on a few devices...and this seems to fit more snug than on other phones. The 3D Commuter I had seemed to bunch up ever so slightly. Same with Dell Streak and Evo 4G versions. My Galaxy S phone was pretty snug as well. Seems like they got this one right...cut-out for the mic doesn't look like it'll get blocked over time if the rubber gets loose.
Button overlays: They stick out a bit...which is the norm for Otters. I find them to be pretty handy. The power button especially, as most would agree without a case it can be a bit of a pain to press. Nice that I can stop myself from filing a fingernail on the volume rocker too. Much easier to press than the few other cases I've tried as well.
Dust Flaps: Tight and secure...without being annoying. Easy to open...plenty of room to plug in your cables. Not too stiff. Seems like they'll hold up for awhile. I've had some others that have fallen off way too early in the case life. Noticed the flap over the HDMI / USB ports DOES make the phone wobble a bit when using kickstand. Not a big deal...but might be an issue for some.
Cut-Outs: My only complaint here is with the kickstand cut out...seems a bit too snug. Seems to get caught a tiny bit on the rubber around it as you try to extend the kickstand. Pretty sure it'll straigthen itself out over time tho. Camera cut-out is nuttin special...just a rectangle around the lens and flash. Has cut-outs for the noise cancelling mics on the back as well.
Appearance: LOVE how it doesn't take away from the MoPho's unique look. I've gotten compliments on my phone for how slick it looks with the cut off corners. Yea.it's the little things that count. This isn't a case that hides the look of your phone...it accents the goodness!
General Feel: Not too slick....not too grippy. Slides in and out of pockets just fine. Definitely doesn't feel like I'll drop it. Always a good thing in my book. **Edit: After several hours of use, I've noticed the edges are kinda sharp. The hard plastic, when held in certain spots, can be agitating to your skin with it's sharp plastic.
So...in conclusion: I think this is the case I'll stay with for awhile. I've always enjoyed the protection afforded by OtterBox cases...and this should be no different.
Be aware, unless you rip out the insert on the HDMI dock it won't fit. You will have to remove the case for dock use.

I just ordered one from amazon after reading this. This would be perfect if they would have made a clip for it like the defender. I tried the defender at RS but it was just too much, this seems to keep the bulk down but still give that otterbox protection.

Yeah with modification. Not pretty, but it works. I returned my dock already (since we don't need it anymore for root) or I'd snap some pics. Anyone else confirm this please?

update: oh they went out of stock quick i guess, i was able to snag one though....
newegg's price is good, but thats about how much theyre going for online. retail stores would rip you off, but online price seems to be around the 22-25 dollar range.
lowest amazon price is 22.93 with free shipping from a 3rd party seller.
I bought mine for about the same price from a 3rd party seller on amazon and received it in 2 days (mainly cuz he was in the same state).
i got mine for 19.99 free shipping on amazon. love the case, felt so scared holdin it before.
I managed to get the Commuter to fit the car dock with minimal modification.
1- The rubber plug over the USB ports has to go.
2- Remove the ~1" bar over the USB ports from the outer shell. This part is indicated in green in the photo.
3- Shove the whole thing into the navi dock. Still tight, but it works.
Just copped ($22 on Amazon w/free shipping.) Propz - good review

I need your opinion with different carrying solutions. Hows the china stuff on eBay?

I need to find a way to carry my phone around, especially at work. I work in a bus garage, my work is manual so I don't want the phone to be in any pocket as moving around can get annoying and I might hit my leg somewhere and damage the phone. But also in regular clothes, sometimes this phone is just to much for my jeans.
For me, finding the perfect way to carry this huge phone is the most challenging thing with it, but the size of this phone is my only negative point so I'll find a way around that.
From eBay:
1. Case cover with Holster with belt clip and kickstand:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-3-Case-Cover-Protector-Rigid-Slim-Holster-Kick-Stand-/171138781224?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item27d8aa9028
2. Heavy Duty vertical belt clip pouch : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-VERTICAL-BELT-CLIP-POUCH-HOLSTER-CASE-FOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-2-N7100-/360649119899
3. Another Holster Belt clip : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3-Rugged-Hybrid-case-cover-with-Belt-Clip-Holster-Bundle-/181230218883?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item2a3229ae83
So what are your opinons on these 3? Hows the china stuff with your experience? Should I be worried the belt clip break in half after 2days?
I've tried about 4 different china cases over the years....and 3/4 were garbage...the only decent one I had on my G2. The fit is usually too small/incorrect and i've cosmetically damaged phones in the past using them. Like the old saying goes "Ya get what you pay for." I'm by no means rich and like to save a buck when I can, but do you want to put your $600 baby in a $5-10 carriage?
1st one: I don't like that I don't see and rubber material in the case for shock absorption, just that little fuzzy "velvet" stuff. Bet it will scuff sides of phone too, had one similar before.... PASS
2nd one looks like the case for my leatherman. PASS
3rd one looks like a trident knockoff, but has the rubber/hard plastic combo that seems to work best. One thing I can't see is how big of a "lip' sticks out above screen. This is important for face-down falls. Without a good rubber lip like the Trident/otterbox cases, you WILL have damage.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out....
I've had mixed results with China cases over the years. I was suprised by the one I got for my Note 2. It was cheap, durable, and did exactly what I wanted. With my original Note I went through 2 or 3 cases before I got a good one.

The one that i am using now was from my Note 2 and it's been a year and it's still just as good. It's fits perfectly even with a back case on my Note 2 and now a bumper case on my note 3. I'm using the brown colour.....you may want the black

The majority of cases probably originate in China. I ordered #3 from your list and it should be here soon, so I can take pictures and let you know about the quality. From another auction, it shows that the lip that surrounds the screen is rather large, almost as much as an Otterbox Defender. I saw the same case on Amazon for $20, and there are a few sellers that have them less than $10 on eBay. I've also ordered a Spigen NeoHybrid because it offers the protection I need, but hopefully the corners won't pop off and crack the case near the charging port like my S4 case did.

Please, let me know how it turns out.
I'm also very interested to know how well the belt clip holds as well as the build quality of the material use for the belt clip itself, something always overlooked in product description and reviews.

I have one coming in next week hopefully. If no one has done it, I'll post a quick review. I think people should hold if they can when buying this case from China. Let other experiment to see if it works correctly.
