personnally i can see it being 2.1 think they`ll wanna keep 2.5 for newer models, wot other selling point do they have to sell the newer models other than the new UI, not much else. bigger screens yeah, wot else???

hahahaha yes i know the feeling, i too would like the new UI. i`v flashed cooked roms with new manila but there too buggy for me, also the messaging had serious lag, any more than 10 messages on my phone i`d have to wait a couple of seconds for them to load up on the screen b4 being able to write a reply, not good.
anyway lets hope were both VERY wrong and we get new manila!!! (fingers crossed) lol
We all know, from previous experiences with htc (cube-touchflo3d-touchflo2d-touchflo3d2 ), that this will never gonna happen.
But we have a chance that the cookers and the modders (hackers) of touchflo will be able to get rid of every annoying bug that 2.5 has onto topaz. Regardin htc message, let's hope, again, that they will manage to replace it totally with the default one without bugs in touchflo (such as pressing sms buttons from contact lists)

i'm updating rom's on my touch pro, and i'm really surprised by the new sense 2.5 it's true that i choose it for the new hometab and the beauty mix of clock&wheater, but that sucks really, new htc messaging don't work, take more than 5sec to syncronise with inbox in sms& mails. most of the apps freeze, nothing is stable, so i'll come back to the tael rom without the "new" rom of sense 2.5!! i think that sense should me more stable and more faster. that's the worst rom i've seen and i ve tested the energy and tael rom.
am I alone to find that sense 2.5 sucks?

Wrong topic and who cares of your opinion, don't gotta be negative. Don't like it don't use it. In my opinion I love it even though there's no landscape. It's sexy and looks nice and nothing freezes for me, freezing of apps is because of Windows Mobile not Manila 2.5

i think before u start complaining is to try other ROMs that run 2.5 AFIAK even though u tried an EnergyROM try the LATEST EnergyROM it has a very stable and fast Sense 2.5 built in IMHO
and for your issues with SMS messaging recommend to search for Zenyee's disable htc messaging app
and it seems ur stability issues can lead to a bad flash OR you installed something to slow down ur phone, reflash and run the ROM without installing any apps, install ONE app at a time and check to see which one leads to ur crashes
install NeoS2007 graphics drivers, search for it and ull notice a significant difference in stability and smoothness
and if you honestly think that those are the worst ROMs why dont you go ahead and try to make your own??

If you have a clock + weather on the home page and if you have a twitter tab in ur slider then its SENSE2.5=manila2.5=TF3D 2.5.
If you have just the clock on the main page then it is TF3D2.1=Manila2.1

i don't think that there is something wrong with this thread. I didn't like the new Sense either, not because the chef did a bad job but because i simply didn't like it.
i think the worst part about sense is that there is no Programs tab anymore and you can only put 6 shortcuts to the Home screen. The concept itself is good but 6 shortcuts is not enough...at least for me. i also had some performance issues when it wasn't perfectly smooth on Touch Pro. Pry because it wasn't designed for it.
other than that i liked it, and i wanna say thanks to all chefs here for doing this tremendous job!

Azik. Google up Max Ultimate... allows up to 20 shortcuts. Personally, it's the only way I was able to use 2.5.
I think the original poster was just stating his opinion that he didn't like Sense 2.5. But you guys are acting like Apple Fanboys going ballistic and coming out so rude...
I don't like it sense 2.5 either...
As much as this forum is to praise people's work, we can't be doing ONLY that all the time. sometimes the work sucks and needs to be said that way.
I don't think its chef's fault or anything and I appreciate the time each chef puts in. But these days the forum is full of latest cutting edge software THAT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK WELL with tweaking, fixing bugs, do this and do that,etc...
I have gone back to older stable ROMs. I have the luxury of trying out these things because of the hard and good work of the chefs, the forum and the user community. Thank you all.

Anyone know if this graphics fix speeds up Sense and SMS? Tried NRG's ROM with Sense, loved it, but a little too slow on my FUZE. Switched back to NRG's Touch Flo 2.1 ROM.
You guys who are complaining about 2.5 do realise that its not actually intended to work on the Touch Pro don't you? The version that we are luckily able to run has been ported over from different phones (leo iirc?) which has more power available to it, and a different resolution, amongst many other differences.
So we are not able to run an official HTC final-polished-ready-to-go version of it, and we NEVER will..we get a hacked together port put together by some very talented people on these boards.
So you can justifyably say that current implementations of it has bugs, is unstable, has missing/overlapping icons/graphics or speed issues..but these are not HTC Sense issues.
Personally I really like it but don't run it day to day because of a few issues with the new messenging client when you have more than a few text messages (takes forever to load!), BUT I like sense itself..the questions of if its stable or not, and if its a good bit of software are completely different, and its not fair on HTC or the guys on this board to mix them up..

I second this. Also to the first poster, you can try a hard reset or re flash a new rom. I have had some issues with 2.5 myself and lately the new 2.5 roms seem much faster and stable. The chefs put a lot of work into making a rom, so I can see why they get upset,but on the same note its nice to vent about things when something is not working. When I had problems with 2.5 I decided to stick with 2.1 until recently , and now I really like 2.5. I am going to flash a 2.1 probably later today and see which I like best, but I am willing to bet its the 2.5 roms. 2.5+MaxManila=Bliss

Yes it speeds up the whole Manile working all together the the GFx Boost or NEO GFx.
This is manila Htc_Sense_2_1_19203317_0!
Is perfectly functional but still has small bugs!
This topic is dedicate only for chef's who want's to cook Manila Sense 2.1 in your roms, not for any user !!!

Compared with Sense 2.5, this manila version not consume many ram and resources!

So glad you posted this. Some folks would make a post saying they have a 90% port or something similar, but never post the files to even let people try. As you can see the 2.5 port came a lot further with many minds than just one person or group holding onto the files in an attempt to tease us Thanks
umm, i don't want to point fingers, but this looks like it's using the exact same files from the captain's sense 2.1 rom except you used the updated manila.exe from the carrier-branded sense 2.1. heck, even the time stamps for the files i personally modified are the same as when the captain released that rom. just to be sure, i did a binary file comparsion, and all the files matched my sense 2.1 port
i guess waiting a few days for a public release of the final packages is too long for some people.

I am very surprised that Akeo did not mention his source for the files. That's not very nice. You definately deserve recognition for the port.
Once you let 1 person have it to use publically, inevitably it will spread, but most on the forum are good about giving credit to the source when the source is known.
Do you have any objections to other Chef's using this to create a ROM with with a statement that this is pre release Sense 2.1, that there are bugs, and of course mention that port was done by you kimi_sae_ireba?

So 2.5 is faster? I was waiting for 2.1 all the time, now the waiting is over, and I have to go back to T3D. Sense 2.5 is already too slow. I expected sense 2.1 a little bit faster.

Sense 2.1 is alot like TFL3D 2.1 with weather on the home screen.
And it is faster that Sense 2.5.
And unlike Sense 2.5, it has landscape support.

The post you are responding to is not quite right, or could be interpreted to lead to a wrong conclusion.
Sense 2.1 is faster than Sense 2.5.
It has weather on the homescreen, but not the full screen animations.

since the cat is out of the bag, i can't stop people from using it. just keep in mind that that particular version is a month old and still has some bugs in it. as of right now, my sense 2.1 port is pretty much complete aside from one minor issue i need to fix for cdma users.

I believe Sense 2.1 has less files than Sense 2.5 it is possible to make this app in a form of a CAB? Hello, there are windows devices where the Sense (Android) operating system works but not all functions. Seems not easy.... why not try one of the new Mega based rom's for Iolite. There are several good ones...check the rom development section.......

i believe that aint possible as the iolite roms dont have the proper drivers to run manilla 2.5
tried it whit a 3d rendering program
it wouldnt work on iolite
but it did on blackstone and former rhodium

Its bloody diabolical that this beautiful phone cannot be used the way intended, and yes i do use the android rom so no flameing. Ive sent numerous emails to the bloodsuckers and all come back with the same reply.

I mean there are plainty of custom Rom's (Who are even better than stock ROM) who have the WM 6.5.3 ore even WM6.5.5 integrated.
What I mean way waiting on HTC if it's already available? It's now more than one year ago that I have used WM 6.5

Home cooked roms are just a mess in my opinion. I much rather a stock version of the rom.

But just for the info there are enough custom-builts available based on stock ROM philosophy (just better drivers, more stable and with WM 6.5.X)

Android pushes out updates once in a while. (2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc). Whenever this is done, HTC has to build their own "layer" on top of stock android. This layer is called HTC Sense. (typical examples are the big "phone" button on your homescreen, the 1x1 power widgets, the "grid" you see when dragging an app icon over your homescreen, the lock-screen that has to be pulled down etc).
For the Hero they stopped making sense for 2.1+, so there will be no official HTC Roms for 2.2 and 2.3.
There are however custom ROMs, that implement 2.2 or 2.3 for Hero, and some even come with HTC Sense.

As far as I can see, the only 2.1+ ROMs that have Sense are ChocolateFroyo, Sengle, Froyo Sense.
Have a good read at which one is stable or not, because I don't know which one is.
so, to answer your initial question about the new version of Sense: I don't think they will put out a version that has the newest version (although I don't know for sure) but at least there are some custom ROMs that give you a new Android version with Hero Sense.
