Battery drained fast - Touch Cruise 2 ROM Development

I have just started using Iolite.
I noticed the battery drain out fast compared to Polaris.
Not running any programs in the background.
Any solutions?
ROM:1.11.707.1
Radio: 0.41.30.12

try changing from 3g to 2g if your not in a good area that can cause the battery to drain quickly. go to settings/all settings/phone/band then in the top box change from auto to gsm, seems strange my batery seems to last ages compared to my diamond

Dear Atom Life users with HTC Home plug in and HHC, question to ask.

How long does your battery last?
I pluged my phone into the charger to charge and took it out only this morning.
After about 10+ hrs, my battery has only 33% left!!
I know abt the problems with atom life's battery but it seems to drain too much power...
I'm using Medkid's PDAVIET Rom and installed only HTC Home plug in and HHC.
Sorry 4got to mention.
There was minimal usage and did not use phone. Less than 5 minutes ( juz switch on to see time etc).
check your cpu profile though,
also if u set to best for performance the battery drain real fast, plus any wi-fi and bluetooth will just kill it quick.
i think mine last longer than ya, last time i remember i went away for a night my battery still 40% the next morning.
but yep despite the powerful atom life, its baterry sux. hope other manufacturer could provide the same size battery with better power management.
Woah 60% drain for a whole day is way better den mine...
I got the power consumption think and the drain is about 220mA or so w/o doing anything
issit normal?
if you use xcpuscalar that could be reason... although you underclock your cpu, it has much bigger battery consumption so don't use it!
Don't keep your screen brightness on a high level.
I am running the OEM W6 ROM with the HTC Home Plug and my battery life is fine, and I am using 3G about 95% of the day.
Sometimes I need to charge it at night, sometimes I don't.
Original (supplied) battery can last for 18 to 20 hrs with less usage, meaning only call and sms. Have bought extended battery that can last for 2 days. Oh ya, my atom life have htc plugin and hhc, plus spb shell, pointui and touchcommander installed. I used clean WM6, download from O2 site, as I am uncomfortable with cooked rom.
Here's my today screen:
hmm.. can i found home plugin look like HTC ?? i want to download

Battery Life

can anyone who is lucky enough to have a Hero already comment on the battery life?
i find that the 1.5 port i have on my Polaris tears through the battery like i have never seen before. (even with all widgets disabled)
don't forget the hero has a 1350 battery fitted as standard
i have no problems with my hero and battery life....so far
As long as you dont enable GPS its fine. I get through the day with about 1/4 left.
And I Browse through wifi for about 1 hr on it. few calls, lots of txts. Few games. few apps like wifi fixer, locale
thanks for the info...
The battery life is better then my Touch HD and deffinetly better then my Diamond, and even when I keep wifi running I can get through a day without trouble,
I'm really surprised how long it lasts, wasn't expected at all,
Imagine how good it will be when an 1500mah or higher battery comes out
hi guys
im thinking of having the hero
jast a small Q
is the hero battery size is the same one as the touch HD battery size ???? (i didnt mean the capacity i mean the size of battery)

No, its thinner but longer. The HD is Shorter but fatter.
One thing I would add about battery life, and that is that when on standby it is excellent.
My Hero came off charge yesterday at about 11am and essentially sat on my desk barely being touched for the rest off the day - a couple of phone calls, a text message, and a few emails. According to the meter on the phone status, I'm at 70%, which means I'd probably have no qualms picking it up and going out now without worrying too much about my battery life.
On my G1, I know that had I left the phone for 24 hours on standby, I'd probably be down to less than 25% by now.
Regards,
Dave
I have not had my Hero long enough to make much of a comment on battery life though I had nothing to complain about until this morning.
I went to bed with about half battery life indicated and I just left the phone. When I got up this morning it had low battery - very unexpected.
I left WiFi off but I have left most settings at their default which means that the phone will be auto syncing my Google account for instance. Can anyone. suggest anything that will help me?
Thanks
My phone has been off charge now for 48 hours, and although it has been idle most of that time, it is still showing 40% battery life - uptime is 50hr 47mins, and awake time only 2hrs 21mins.
Are you sure you weren't running something that would drain the power? Also, check to see if the phone is continually dropping from 3G to 2G and back again as this will drain power significantly.

Dave

Well, to be honest, anything is possible! I dont have amazing reception at home but I still think that was unusual battery drain. Has your phone been constantly connected? I know mine is all the time because of the auto sync with Google.
I guess so - I'm getting 3 bars HSDPA where it is currently sitting, so I guess the 3G signal is sufficiently strong for it to stay on 3G.

Dave
To save more power -
Goto 'settings' > Wireless controls > Mobile Network settings - then switch off 'enable always-on mobile' and if you can 'Data roaming'
You may have other apps that constantly check and refresh, change them to check at longer intervals - like twitter.
I can still browse internet and Market fine this way and battery time is extended.
Hi peeps
had my hero for about 1 month now this is second hand set and so far battery life is good about 2-3 days light use on idle i get 6-7days which i think is prtty good for what it dose on normal use i get 1-2 days
I'd suggest to charge the hero everyday. For Lithium-ion batteries it's best to keep them over 40% for a longer life-time. They don't suffer if you charge them very frequently.
And don't leave them off at 100% because that will have a negative effect on the life-time.
Hope that helps keeping your batteries in good shape

yeah it true its better to keep them topped up but for most people thats not alway possible. And in past i have let batterries go be low that and still got like 18months out of them
Wonder why but my HTC hero battery life not very good at all
doesnt last even a day with hardly any serious usage....maybe 30 mins wifi browsing, 30 mins phone browsing, less than 30 texts and maybe 10 mins call,
i had an app called battery status (full version) i wonder if this has been causing the problem....
its hard to effectively test the phone due to diff usage paterns ..any one had any prob with this particular app?

[Q] How do you boost battery performance?

On my HTC HD2 (O2) phone, my drains battery drains why too faster, i'm running the latest ROM v1.72.206.3 from O2, is there a way of boosting battery performance?
install a new radio rom. Which is best for you is dependant on your area but for me it's 2.12.50.02_2. I also use the energy 6.5.x series roms (not the best on battery but is very easy to use) in conjunction with the radio rom i just mentioned. On light usage my phone will last almost 3 days. With heavy usage (but not playing video) it will last about 2.
Geting rid of the stock software and going custom and newer was probably the best choice i made regarding my phone.
If you want to keep your radio and stock ROM (like me, 1.72 TMob) you can also try and space out the update of weather and email. l have automatic weather updates every 3 hours and emails every hour. You'll be amazed how long the battery lasts. On the other hand, if you are in an area with not very stable reception, your battery will drain quicker because the phone will be working very hard to try and find a stronger signal to keep you connected. So, battery trouble is not just down to stock ROM or even usage. We have a growing number of super-sophisticated smartphones (not just HD2's) using almost Jurassic networks

I use Dutty's latest rom and have to say it is great for battery life! =)
Heres the settings that I use to get 2 - 3 days per charge:
- No email account (I use opera to see my gmail account so I dont need my email updating every few hours draining battery)
- No weather animation (The clouds get annoying for me anyways so I'd rather not have this battery drainer)
- 30% display backlight brightness
- Wifi off
- Bluetooth off
- 2g edge connection on and 3g turned off unless I need to browse the internet
- HTC location services off
- Black background
EDIT: Heres the link to the ROM I am using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=610634
Sooooo, looks like the only way to have good battery life is to switch off all the functionality that makes the HD2 better than a crummy 10yr old Nokia. Is there nothing else? Anyone know of higher capacity battery availability? Mine drains completely between 8am and 6pm with a couple of short calls, couple of minutes on the internet, location on (hourly updates) and push gmail.
Just found this - very helpful people and lots of ideas to sort out battery draining issues:

[Q] FXP047 3G Extreme Battery Use?

Since upgrading from 030 to 047 (clean install, FXP kernel) if 3G is enabled, my battery will not last for even eight hours, and my phone is always warm to the touch. Using 2G only gives incredible battery life, (nearly two days with similar usage) and the phone stays cool except during extensive use.
030 did not have the same problem; with 3G, the battery lasted about sixteen or twenty hours, and there were no temperature concerns.
I tried looking for apps that might be causing the problem with no success. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS are almost always disabled (as before). CPUSpy reports that the phone successfully enters deep sleep. The signal strength in my location is, and always has been, excellent. Battery usage is dominated by Phone Idle and Cell Standby.
Does anyone else have similar problems with this particular version, or can anyone suggest any other clues/hints/settings to investigate?
I had the same issue with mine and eventually switched from FXP to MIUI. If someone could figure out the power issues I'd go back but for now I'm sticking with MIUI until I can see how the battery life on it is.

[Q] CM10 Preview battery life and other issues

Hi all,
Just some observations:
After installing CM10 Preview by Pershoot on my GT-7500, I've noticed quite drop in battery life over the Stock ROM
I understand that JB will naturally use more battery for it's functions, and so will an overclocked kernel.
My range set to 608Mhz-1400Mhz.
It does say that the screen is using 50% of battery, and the Mobile data uses 33%, Android System 5%, Android system 3%.
Battery life at 33% left: is at 15h 2m.
I don't have many apps running in the background.
Is this kind of battery usage / life to be expected?
I use the screen on 50-75% brightness..
When the WIFI is turned on, it also seems to partly connect the 3G as well? It shows the mobile connection name ie: 3G RSA MTN, even though it is switched off?
