Is original protector removable? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Accessories

I would like to install a new shield on my screen but I can't tell if the original is removable and what the recommended method of removal would be if it is.

haha.....everyone gets so butt hurt here. I hope this thread gets deleted

If it actually still has the scondary film covering over it then use a wooden or soft plastic tooth pick to slide up under the screen protector and simply remove it. I would wait until you have a replacement before doing this. I've been a PDA user for years and I learned the hard way early on that the first thing you should do is put on the screen protector or you end up with a scratched screen.

Being "productive" is a relative point of view. Many of us consider you starting a new thread with a double post as non-productive.
I am not being a forum cop. I have just as much right to my posts as you do and the community polices itself. Maybe you also missed that in the forum rules. But we can let the mods decide once they see this.
My opinion is that your initial question is a little ridiculous. Is original protector removable? Really?????
If you are referring to the flimsy protective film that ships on the device? It is removable. Otherwise you would need to try and look through the message that is pre-printed on it.
If you mean the protector that is shipped in the box, well that is also removable if you have attached it.
If you mean ANY screen cover, then the answer is still yes. They are all removable.
I hope that is a productive answer for you and you will drop this silly question.

Thanks for your help but, I don't know if there is any "secondary film" on the screen. Of course I'm not talking about any film with writing on it. My question is, Is there a protector installed on the screen that shoud removed before installing the extra spare that is included in the box? I don't want to start digging around without even knowing if there is a removable screen protector there. I guess what I need to do is call HTC and get the answer. Thanks anyway.
Oh yeah, for the forum cops, I started this second post because I wasn't getting any response from the first.

Ever think that you didn't get any answer because the question was so silly?
If you ask the question 100 times does that make it a better question? I don't see any fine print in the forum rules that states if you don't get a reply you should pepper the board with the question until someone answers you. I guess you have become accustomed to getting an immediate answer to any question you have. It must be nice.
Thanks for the award. It just reaffirms my belief in your intelligence and maturity. Have a nice day.

For the record, there is no secondary, tertiary, or other film on the device. Just slap your screen protector on there like all of us do. It really is not a big deal.

I hate to say this but there is such thing as too much help. Every thread I see that asks a question about a case even if it has nothing at all to do with a "SILICON case" you direct them to that thread. I think everyone here has SEEN that thread. And I must say that the thread is not that informative. It contains very little information as to what cases fit what phones and most of the links are to ebay and most are dead. I am really not trying to offend anyone here just getting tired of seeing this link in every "Case" thread. Us that have been here for a while have seen the thread and those that are new can do an easy search for it. Besides the question was very specific and has nothing at all to do with your thread.
Thanks.
JD
Sorry Simtrax for hijacking your thread and also sorry I can't provide much in the line of help. I do know that there are a few different form factors for this device and most cases are specific for each.
I´m sorry if my thread pointing was intrusive, but perhaps for a new member it´s ok to point him to that thread, just wanted to help.
I´ll look to improve the thread ASAP.
My apologies

I had this problem too and my phone's currently getting repaired. Sent it in because I had yellow tint, but also mentioned the loose bottom so hopefully they fix that too.

so not worthy to bring it back and get the phone replaced (in my country they have to replace it if i bring it back within 3 working days), cuz i most likely end up in the same situation? i also have this cracky plastic noise... oh, i love this phone otherwise, especially after my x10 one more minor problem is that the BL is not unlockable, that was disappointing, too, but hey, i can live with it for now until i get ICS
thanks for the answers everyone!
I don't know... i should just try to swap it, I don't have the problem with my XS

But, I don't understand why you replied like that to mihahn's reply? he was just helping you and that's how you reply? Yes, you're probably right and I'm sorry. I didn't look back at what I posted before replying, I had all forgotten about me even mentioning the screws and was in an annoyed mood because too many people keep posting low-content, off-topic comments, cluttering the forum beyond usefulness. Sorry, but if you (we) can't find them on ebay, I don't know where to get them. Usually most people don't need these screws...

You don't have to lurke in the dark. Just be polite and it's good to see you apologize for your mistakes (trust me, not many people do that) You are always encouraged to ask doubts and post useful information!

Never buy only a replacement digitizer, it's very difficult (nearly impossible) to separate without breaking LCD: https://www.google.de/search?q=separate+lcd+digitizer
Better buy a complete lcd + touch digitizer "assembly", they have become quite cheap (starting from 15$/€):
www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?Search...e=15&maxPrice=30&SortType=price_asc&isRtl=yes
Pretty cool to have that
Thanks !

but i'm little curious. Apparently the display is ok, just the touch doesn't work. I've noticed that the screen is "transpiring" too much moisture and some screws and springs were rusting. Has anyone tried to find out why the touch fails along the time? its maybe a CI problem or umidity

Well humidity becomes a problem especially when the device temperature is much lower than room temperature (like when coming in from winter/snow ) because the air surrounding the device surfaces cools down and water condenses, even on the inside.. it happens with watches, too..
Or you (or someone close to you) might have dropped it into liquid (toilet?) when you were very drunk
in that case, take out battery IMMEDIATELY, dry clean with a cloth, carefully shake out remaining fluid, then put f.e. into a bowl of dry rice and wait at least 24 hours before trying to power it up..

This thread is a bit old already but I just unearthed my old SK17i while I was rummaging through my stuff. It got stashed away when it suddenly shutdown while it was charging. Checking, its battery terminals were shorted. Something gave way.
Perhaps you have a parts placement file lurking somewhere? I've tried our friend Google but she came empty-handed.

It was a really usable device, only the android java app sh1t overhead slugged it to death..
with some luck, a wayland phone distro will be usable on it someday :cyclops:

Gawd how I miss this phone.

Why one guy bent 6P so easily while others failed? [check this if you're concerned]

Well, first thing is he exactly knew *The Weakest* spot of this phone. If he applied same pressure exactly at middle of device he would have harder time trying to bend this phone
Second, check photos in attachment I took these photos from his instagram.
This guy is much stronger than a normal person/YouTuber.
Nexus 6P is not going to bend in normal day usage
What a relief after all

dbrand Grip Case Impressions?

Hey guys,
I am looking into getting a new case for my 6t, and was considering the new Grip Case by dbrand.
Does anyone have it yet and could give their impressions?
Thanks!
It says it doesn't ship until April. I'm also interested in this case despite the high price tag.
I had one for Pixel 2 XL, I backed the original Kickstarter campaign. It was a let down - it was very thick and bulky, and it didn't even fit right down one side of the device - there was visible 'bowing' and a small gap there. I raised a support case with Dbrand but they refused to refund saying it was by design. Put me off a bit! It was one of the first ones released so maybe they're better now, but I wouldn't buy one again/take the risk as you probably won't be able to return it.
Ordered and cancelled. Will wait and am interested. I did get a notification won't ship until April few weeks ago.
Pretty miffed that they'd advertise this at such an early stage. Pre-orders... Advertise when it's within a week of shipping at least. No further.

I get it on pre-order in April. If feel good in the hand and it's a quality product.
Is this case really that "grippy" on the sides? A lot say they are but when I get them they are just as slippery as the next.

I felt the same until I used it for a couple of weeks. Coming from the case that was included with the McLaren edition, it felt slick at first but after being in my pocket for a while and getting my fingers all over it the sides feel pretty grippy. Just had to let the newness wear off.
Nope, they will never ever have something fancy
They are great at social media, and that is it
Grip case impressions
I've been using the grip case for about a month. The case is very sturdy and comfortable to hold. Highly recommend getting a skin for the grip as the back of the grip gets scratched pretty easily. The phone feels a bit bulky after you use with the case, but you get used to it. Protection wise, it's very good. They've flattened the middle portion of the case where it meets the screen, hence it is easy to use. I've dropped the phone a number of times and there's been no damage yet.

I have sweaty oily hands, and the silicone case that came with the phone was not ideal for me. The back of that case is very smooth, so used to slip a lot. But haven't faced any such problems with this so far
