Extract auto-brightness from Desire ROM? - Nexus One Android Development

I was wondering if ianyone has any idea which files we might need to extract from a Desire ROM to replace the auto-brightness code in Nexus ROMs?
I've noticed that it seems to work much better on the Modaco Desire ROM, with a higher base level of brightness and more consistent reaction to the ambient light level.

Wow, thats awesome.
Anybody an idea, where to find?
The script on Nexus is...****ty.
It has automatic brightness, but it's useless on this phone for now.

Thats right i don't even use it as it doesn't work as it should
It will be grate if some one could work it out.

Plus one on that. We need to combine all the best things from both devices to create one super rom...we shall then call it "Super ROM".

I was just discussing this with my brother, a steady 50% level of brightness looks better then the auto feature on the phone.
He just got his and I told him to shut it off its looks horrible, the green look so fake unless the brightness is on 55% steady and up

I do agree with this: the Desire ROM is pretty damn consistent with the auto brightness.

I didnt even bother checking for the auto-brightness on this ROM. I cant believe it works. Thanks OP

+1 on this! I figured I wasn't the only one.

would be cool if it's possible, but i am not sure if it will work?

+$10 LOL

I know how to extract it. I'll have a look at try it out on my N1.

Just use the desire rom. Why do some people not like it? I love it.

Thirded (is that a word?)

I tried the Desire ROM some days ago, and the screen seemed brighter than the default Nexus ROM (both at max brightness). Anyone noticed that ?

While we are on the subject of extracting things.... how about extracting the HTC Music app to be used on Cyanogen....

the HTC stuff can't be

i am fine with the stock auto brightness.....
But I agree that it would be better if the base brightness is higher.

[APP]LightXT

Alright guys here it is. LightXT its pretty self explanatory. This does require you to be rooted. This is V.1 so there might be bugs but I haven't found any so you should be fine. This has only been tested on US XT720 running Khalpowers miui themed V3 but technically it should work on all models of this phone with the auto focus led.
Disclaimer: I am not held responsible for any harm this app may cause your phone or your LED light.
If you like this App please dont forget to hit the thanks button.
*****THIS APP DOES NOT TURN YOUR XENON FLASH ON IT TURNS ON YOUR AUTO FOCUS LIGHT***** sorry for the confusion
First!!!
Works great but i found a bug.
If you turn on the light and then rotate the screen you have to click 2 times to turn it off again...
But still awesome thanks!!!!
thanks. is the light supposed to be red? that's all Im getting
Yes its our auto focus light. Our actual flash is xenon which requires a charge to flash that's why no other flashlight app works so we created this one specific to our phone.
its amazing, thx! =))
this is amazing! thank you... thank you... thank you...
Thanks alot man! My buddy has been dying for this app and it works great. Any plans for a widget??
Just thought of something.
Could this somehow be integrated into say Khal's rom and set for use on media key?
That would be sick, probably just wishful thinking though.
I hear a cry off in the distance....

I'm trying to convince him into making us a widget it shouldn't be a problem. And there will be a version with the rotate bug fixed uploaded soon. Can't give an exact time but ill update the first post when its in my hands.
Just Great...this can help me...Thanks
until a build in widget is added, the next best thing as a work around is to use
Widgetsoid2.x to create a widget shortcut https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2&feature=search_result

yup thats the only one that turns on our flash is a xenox so we can not just turn it on and off. thats why when you download a led flashlight app from the market ie. droidlight it does nothing. the apps are looking in the wrong place for the led to turn on and thats why we made this app ts made only for our phone and all other variants of this phone.
i feel like i wrote that before.

Important!Question about Camera on HTC Amaze 4g

Let me describe about this case.I have used samsung galaxy s2.When I am in the dark,i touch on the touchscreen and flash of camera will be light. At this time, camera will focus on something and i only need capture what i want.Pictures captured from samsung galaxy 2 in the dark is so nice.
With HTC Amaze 4g!When i touch the screen, flash led of camera never to light so camera can not focus anything until I touch capture button.Because camera can not focus so pictures captured from HTC Amaze is so poor.
Sorry because my bad english. This case is happening on everyone or only with me?And why best camera phone can not do something like samsung galaxy s2?
Having the same issue, may just be within the software, but more than likely its just the camera.

I flashed Fouth Nexus Bar and some cm9 rom but useless.
I have the same problem. Its so disappointing.
Try cm10, not as your dd, just check if the camera works the way you expect it to, last time I checked all devices worked the same on cm.

I dunno if anyone else is having my problem, but ever since I got the ICS update, my cam won't focus for ****...its very frustrating.

He is saying use [ROM]CyanogenMod10 to test if the camera works better, because the CyanogenMod10 ROM works the same on other phones / tablets. Only use it for testing and not for your daily driver (as in not for daily use). Once done testing flash a fully working ROM that has no known issues, so you can use it as a daily driver.

[Q] Best way to change global font size on stock?

Just had a good old internet search but couldn't find a definitive answer so I thought I'd ask the lovely people at xda. Hopefully someone will give me an answer before everyone gets pissy and this thread gets locked.
Anyway, slightly deceptive title as I'm using a ROM based on stock, so, not entirely stock (Chameleon 1.2). Just made a switch away from Cyanogenmod due to the fairly awful battery life I was getting, hopeful this fixes that somewhat. However, I'm already really missing being able to make the font smaller, to a point where I can't use this at all.
Is there a good AIO solution to this? Or am I gonna have to suck it up?

Good stuff. The persistent notification is rather annoying though, but the font size seems to persist after killing the app, so I'll live.

[Q] Capacitive Buttons Brightness

Hi,
is there any way to adjust the brightness of the capacitive buttons?
Most of the time I can hardly see them (in normal daylight) and have to cover the top of the phone (earpiece / front camera) so that they light up.
Thanks in advance for any help
There's an app file it for the HOX. Ill talk to the Dev to see about modding for our device.

Would be great if it can be modded for the HOX+

If you are running OrDroid rom, then check HERE. Perfect settings for me. Might work on other roms too. This mod has adjusted sensor sensitivity values in framework-res.apk, so flashing it might overwrite another mod!

I'm currently still running stock ROM with a few visual tweaks but they just don't appear to turn on soon enough.
It's like if there us any ambient light, no matter how dim, they won't show!!! Stupid decision by HTC. :banghead:

I read somewhere that it is a known issue that the lights don't always turn on when they are supposed to. As for the brightness of the buttons, I believe they only turn on or off.

I applied it to Stock ROM, now whenever the screen is on, the buttons are, too. Perfect. I love my HOX+ again
is there a way to turn it off permanently?

Anyone notice the light of the buttons leak through the screen and wash out the whites you can tell when you power down the phone than turn it on and as soon as its on you should notice

I'm not happy with it.
It gets way too hot for my liking. Should have realized that an aluminum case will get hotter. That's my own fault.
Any AOSP based rom that's not GPe runs like garbage on mine so I've been running Sense because the GPe rom is just different enough from CM that it drives me crazy.
I don't like how flush the power & volume buttons are with the device. I usually lower & raise the volume with the phone in my pocket. It seems impossible to do that with this phone.
That said, anyone want to buy a rooted HTC One?
I dunno. Maybe I'll just have to get used to it. But the fact that CM/AOSP roms run like crap are almost a deal breaker for me.

though i've no experience with CM, seeing as the creator of CM uses an HTC One as his daily and i really doubt he's using any other ROM than his own, i can't really see how it would run bad on this phone.

When was that video taken, and what build was being used, what was this person's install procedure. The video has little to no proof of it running this horrible for people.
