Well my cooking days for HTC Prophet have finally come to an end as I finally upgraded to a newer device HTC Touch Diamond and I have had to sell my Prophet so I won't be cooking as i have no way of testing the finished ROM.
But i will stick around and still pop in from time to time see how you guy's are doing and offer help to any one i can as usual and support to my ROM users

Very bad news for prophet users. I also intend to upgrade my phone to HTC Diamond 2, so maybe is time for other people to start cooking, with very easy tools provided here.
Thanks wapvirus for all your effort to make nice and functional Rom's for HTC Prophet.
Good luck and fun with your new phone!!

Thanks to you all but now you have released that kitchen Bikertibi members can cook ROMs to there own taste and Language which is very good news for all
Also it's official my Prophet is sold and to tell you the truth I will be sad to see it go

The touch diamond users are lucky to have a chef like you.
Thanks & All the best.

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and i would like to say i will always be around to help you guy's start cooking your own ROMs and you still have a load of good chiefs cooking for prophet

Weird coincidences
Just when I thought my HTC days were over..
I too just got hold of a Diamond.. Been looking around the diamond forums but the current Roms seem to lack that unique flavor provided by our Prophet Chefs.. looking forward to see what you do with the Diamond roms wapvirus..
Good luck to whoever takes the reins over here in prophet forum

Great man wapVirus, always help my cook doubts, great person! good luck on Diamond.

Well the thing is with cooking for Diamond is there are so many Cooks and as the old saying goes to many cooks spoil the broth
I would recommend Gen.Y R5.3 MultiLANG Kitchen[WM6.1+6.5][TF3D2.1+2.5][P3700|T7272] I have built several custom ROMs for my diamond using this Kitchen it's so easy to use and works fine on windows 7 i am currently running sense 2.5 with around 50mb free RAM ( just a few tweaks I pick-up from building for prophet) But i can't be bothered to release them as they don't stand out enough

Is it time to get something new?

Hey there boys!
Now that HMA4 and Gullum has moved on, and therefore we don't see that much activity in the WM6 forum for prophet anymore, do you think it is time to get a new device ? Ofcouse it isn't if you just want to use a prophet but i mean if you want something that people are developing roms for, something for us flash o holics..
And.. Is there any chance that we will see more wm6 roms for Prophet? I honestly don't think Prophet Touch X is gonna come, as gullum has a hole new device, then who would actually develop anything for a old device ?
Just wanted to hear what you think.. And if anyone experienced cooker reads this please contact me as i need some help doing some few things..
~D
In France, we have a pub on TV where we can see G.Cloney in a bar, he meets a pretty girl in a bar ... and she ask him to go to drive her car !!!
Too old, time to change
But our Prophet has a beautiful GullumWM6, what else ?
Everything has an end I guess, and this end has come for our dear Prophet.
I'm glad to say that it has been one of the best devices I have used, the next device im switching to has got to have a VGA screen, it is more attractive and better looking.
I hope that the end isnt anytime though, all we can do is still hope that some ROM cooker emerges in a magical way and takes the legacy Gullum and hma4 left.
I wish I wouldnt have to say, Rest In Peace Dear. :*|

Year its sad about the prophet.. I would really like to learn to cook, but there isn't many who can or will take the time to teach me..
But year.. The time for the prophet is over.. What VGA device is currently on the market ? Others than the Universal i haven't seen many
i went to see simple touch at my place the thing is it had same speed and cube worked the same way ,infact my prophet had album feature which single touch didn't have ,i do not know about dual or kaiser but they would be the same too.except for size of single touch i think its time to wait a bit more ,it money versus features balance ratio i guess and there is nothing super bug free ,i just hope htc have improved on answering machine softwares and call recording ,cameras ,which infact are gone way better on symbian platform from 4 years back onwards, that way we can't get everything in win mobile only ,time to change could mean time to keep an alternative platform handset too along with prophet.
Cooking time
Is it not time to do some cooking by ourselves?
At least I will give it a try, as soon as I get my hands on a good romdump. ;-)
Not yet
Nowadays HTC has no real improvements imho.
Latest Prophet roms are (almost) as good as recent official ones.
Kaiser is great (and heavy too) but lacks VGA or other things that compensate the price and size.
Touch = Prophet (more or less, so save your bucks)
Unless you're waiting for HSDPA, I see no need to change.
And if you consider to change now (and I don't, I don't even check other devices hehe), Samsung F700 (no M$ os) may be an tempting alternative. Or Imate, Toshiba, even Nokia.
Prophet is my first M$ phone and I really like it.
I also very very like this forum for apps and roms.
But I have got the feeling that my obsessive tweaking is somehow result of the os, which I consider not mature and buggy.
I think that the fact that M$ /HTC just refuses invest in updates for such an expensive device is a modern form of slavery.
So don't give in: Don't reward HTC for delivering phones without proper firmware-support by buying another (expensive!) new device from HTC.
I am eager to find out how long I'm able to stand up to my own opinion ....
I agree.
If I was to go for a new phone, it would have to be with these improvements:
- VGA or better screen
- Prosessor much faster that Prophet (I now run mine at 277 mhz without problems, can watch whole movies without glitch.)
- Much more ram and rom
- Smaller and maybe lighter
- Better connectivity
- Dedicated 3D graphic card?
- Large battery
I would also appreciate the device to be brain controlled, but you can not have it all...
My point is that the Prophet is ahead of its time, and today there is no tempting alternatives.

if your r happy with prophet now..i think we should wait for devices with next version of windows mobile ( photon)..because its a huge update and current deviced can not run it..its deviced will be available by h2 of 2008
prophet is my 1st pda phone & i really love it. esp after updating to wm6 via gullum's and now hma4.
i was seriously thinking of getting a kaiser as well, but at almost $3000 local money & my prophet is working absolutely fine, i said no...
yes, there may not be a new rom for us, but as long as my prophet works ok, i will not give in & buy a kaiser....

Hi Master gullum,
I agree with u.
Prophet is the father of the non-htc devices but it´s already old.
I use my prophet almost for a year. Right now i can't afford a new device, but i hope soon i can buy another one.
Many thanx for your great work.
We all appreciate.
Thanks alot Gullum for all of your Hard Works.
Thank you so much.

thanks for all ur roms gullum i loved your roms
So.. this means that we also will move our prophets away gradually What an upset feeling..
Thank you very much for your very hard and excellent works!
I hope we will see you cooking/modding for other devices.
Which one would you recommend to those who wants to buy a new device after using a prophet for a long time and retiring it?
Maybe this should be a new topic..
Dear Gullum, after more than 2 years of your great ROMs and invaluable insight and efforts, you will be missed. I understand about the time to move on... I also will move on as soon as I can afford my newest craving (Touch HD). I still love my Prophet after more than 3 years and countless ROMs. Hope to see you on the Forum cooking HD ROMs - maybe I'll have one within the next couple months
Cheers Mate!!
Thanks Gullum for your hard work. We see us in annother tread.
Thats so sad but i must agree since putting m2d on my prophet thats all my poor prophet can run but i must thank you for keeping it alive for so long and thank you for all your ported roms

Yes, thank you Gullum, for stretching the capabilities of the Prophet to the limit.

To all the Prophet ROM Chefs, modders, testers, etc.....

I wanted to tell you guys that you're all amazing!
I "escaped" the WM world only just 1 year ago when I sold my Prophet (which I had tenderly customized for many many years from the old WM5 days) when my work gave me a blackberry pearl.
Even though I've since ditched the blackberry and now have an iPhone 3G, my fondest memories still come from all the ROM hacking and slashing that was going on here... I could flash a rom and reinstall all my apps(and I had a lot!) and restore all the data within 2-3 hours... This included all the Registry edits, activesync connections, etc....
One of my biggest issues with all the custom ROMs I had tried over the years was always "consistency in UI". I don't mind the fact that the device was slow, or maybe A2DP wasn't working... but the different user interfaces that resulted in a custom ROM always bugged me. Adding the fact that WM was such an open book didn't help.
It's *very* impressive to see now that all the roms now have similar colour themes that extend into the main OS, matching keyboards, dialers, calculators, comm managers etc etc etc.... If you guys were doing what you're doing now a year ago, I certainly would not have sold my Prophet and who knows... Maybe I wouldn't even have my iPhone right now...
Even though I no longer have a WM device, I just want to say thanks to all the modders and chefs on this board for all the help and advice. Whenever someone asks me about what phone to get, I always recommend a WM device *BECAUSE* of xda-developers and you guys... You're seriously the single best thing that the WM world has right now. I think everyone would agree that WM would be a steaming pile of poo if xda-devs wasn't around.
Keep up the AMAZING work!
Agreed!!
I am also one of you, enjoying the free fruits from XDA......
Salute to all.

Whats new for Hermes?

Hi all.
Is there something new for our beloved Hermes? New ROM perhaps? Are there still great cooks for the Hermes? What have I missed in the last 6 months? I have read somewhere that WM is now on 6.5.... is it applicable to our Hermes?
Been soo busy at work! Its been a long time since I found time to visit this site..I think the last time was November/December last year and Im not sure if there are still a lot of Hermes users and a lot of Hermes cooked Roms as it was that time, considering that there are now many new HTC phones coming it. But as for me, I still love my Hermes (or maybe I just dont have the money yet to get a new HTC phone lols).
The current rom Im using I think is version 3.62 with Radio version 1.47.30.10, on WM6.1 with M2D, TouchFlo...I even forgot whose ROM it is...either PDAViet, PhamQuang, abusalza's PDACorner, Starbase64, JoshKoss, CRCinAU or Schaps, I really forgot now, so many Roms to play around that time. I have yet to check first my files in my PC as what were the last things I opened and used with regards to Hermes. Still, my Hermes is still doing great, alive and kicking!
I miss xda-dev. Thanks to all those excellent cooks I mentioned (and forgot to mention) .... I hope these days there is still something new to play around for the Hermes
Thanks..
Well just mossy on down to the Mobile 6 and you will find a few 6.5 ROMS, thankfully so far when one ROM cookers falls in battle then there is another to take up his sword, or should that be wooden spoon.
