How do you push this?
Whenever I try to "adb push boot1.gif /system/media/bootscreen" it shows that it copied, but my old bootscreen is still in the place

Adb push/pull is copy/paste not cut/paste.
Hmmm......
My problem was a ROM without a tattoo-hack.ko module. Now that I reflashed a better ROM, I can easily push it.
I'm interested in porting another bootscreen to tattoo. So far I've had little success. I made this gif exactly the correct size it should be, but all I get on my Tattoo is like this distorted crippling bootanimation.
Can anyone help me with this? Maybe some guidance in the right direction?

Not to be rude...I'm thankful for people trying to mod the Atrix...but it would appear all you did was change the background and the default colorscheme for certain aspects, which appear broken without modding the way the aspects actually interact.

You are very non-observant. Did you not see the notification bar? That's the big deal in this theme. Different icons and the nice looking shaded black bar, oh and the settings menu. I like it and I think it looks awesome.

lol well sir you are in the themeing section not the development, currently with out a recovery custom roms can not exist and even what i have made i havent released because it would be dangerous to people like you also the menu appears broken as you call it because currently honeycomb is optimized for tablets this came from a Xoom system dump
I will add version tomorrow with non split menu , i did it on purpose as i liked the look and the honeycomb version of part grey part transparent didnt render on atrix right. I will also fix an over sight in a transparent submenu that i noticed today it made sub menu hard to read, any how its just a theme and im just posting alot of new looks if you notice a problem let me know ill fix , better to get bugs out before the roms
thanks for the work will try it once updates are finished

I was asking if you used the Adeo framework-res.apk, as I don't want to lose the reboot options while trying out something different. Thank You.
Ya the notification bar is nice but when you drop it down it splits and comes out different colors. And look at the way menus come up...

is there any way to get this as a non adb push or whatever? like maybe an exe or something that is run from the PC?
excuse my ignorance, but i have never once been able to do anything adb related and would like this.

I have not had the time to do any more work on this as of now as i am working on bootloader and on a better ubuntu as well
Ok As for the comments about the pulled down notification bar cracking , its not a crack its the design , same with the current menu's do you think i dont know how to use FILL ? you know the thing with the Paint bucket spilled? i made choices for the way i liked them if you dont its ok , but dont call it broken
Few more updates made i fixed what was actually broken and changed a few of the menus

great theme, notifications are hard if not impossible to read on the notification bar, as with the date on the drop down. would like to see ATT out of there, over all though i really like the theme and will continue to use it

What you're looking for is an install.bat file (script) that pushes everything to the phone for you. Im sure that if requested t0dbld might be able to put one together for easy install. He's good at that sorta stuff from what I've seen on other threads

[Bootanimation]--HACKERS the movie -- crash override bootup screen

I just put together a hackers boot animation based on crash overrides bootup screen from the movie hackers
I made it for my Rogers evo 3d so the zip is Rogers_bootanimation.zip
to use it in a custom rom just rename it Bootanimation.zip
I love this boot up and plan to add more animations to it.
UPDATE: Aug 31. now it loops infinitely
thanks

Where is it??
update
i forgot to upload the bootanimation so here it is
heres the sound to go with it
seeing this thread reminded me of that movie, havent seen it in a long time. gonna have to watch it now.
Request one .zip file (bootanimation+audio) in order to flash thru recovery. Tried to get it done before my computer completely crashed on me .
Preview please?
Is kool but you should make it so that it loops. After the initial boot it just stays static.

Oh my god. Lol
I lived this movie when I was younger. Not realistic at all. But I understood you can't show real hacking because it would be boring for movie goers.
I am totally flashing this! Awesome going man!
Actually, some of the stuff they did in that movie was possible only a few years prior.
Read this and see if it looks familiar.

Oh yeah. I know about that and the captain crunch whistlers 2600hz tone that triggered the tone the phone made when a coin was dropped. But by the time the movie came out that was well and fixed.
But I'm talking about "hacking the Gibson" and all that stuff. You know what I'm talking about. Lol

here's the latest update

Anyway to get a flashable .zip made up?
Is it also possible to make the sound louder? I could barely hear it when my phone booted up. Thanks!
Help
I'm not sure how to go about making a flashable zip. If anyone can direct me in the right direction I will do it up.

Boot *down* animations?

I've searched, and only have come up with some very nice looking boot up animations, (great job to all those that have created them) but have yet to find any boot down animations. Anyone know where I can find some? Thank you.

OK so this is NOT a direct answer to your question, sorry. I found when using the down animations they all seem to be coded weird or something, because AFTER they finish there's about an 8 second delay before the screen actually goes off.
This lead me to REMOVE the downanim, which can be done by editing out some lines the default.xml.
I do have ONE downanim that is the "HTC - quietly brilliant" in a kinda neon green theme, which works well. Please feel free to PM me if you want help with either one

If you remove the lines on default.xml does the phone just turn off without having the black screen that it does now after the down animation?

yes and no. It does not have a black screen, so, yes. But, in place of the downanim, there's a dialog box "shutting down" for a few secs first, so, no.
Lol. Sorry if that makes no sense, try it out
Oh the edit is in /system/customize/CID/default.xml
near the bottom, edit out everything in between these two lines, but leave the lines themselves.
< ShutdownConfiguration >
blahblahblah <- edit out
< /ShutdownConfiguration >
Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I gather nobody really does boot down amnimations with the Evo 3d.
My rom has a CRT down animation, you can grab that one if u want it.

Bootanimation

I seem to have located the bootanimation.zip(s).
/system/customize/resource/
Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip
hTC_bootanimation.zip
Attempting a push, however results in a read-only message for that directory.
Has anyone successfully replaced their Rezound bootanimation?
I might have to play with this/ wonder if temp root/ root explorer can work this? / Can't wait for s-off...
:: update ::
Seemed to restore after rebooting
-No surprise... matched permissions, filename, etc...
-nice thought/however...
I can't wait to change the boot animation. I use to all the time in winmo and on my iPhone.
Does anybody else get stuck at the 4g lte screen for about a minute?

try pushing one to data/local it might override it. Although I like the beats/lte one on there already. Better than the old us cellular clouds on my desire

There is an xml that will need edited in order for it to look in other folders for the animation. In my latest roms I had them in the media folder. It's a simple edit but will require root in order to overwrite the xml

Boot Animations

Now that we have root, has anyone changed their boooader animation? I went searching in the files and noticed it was not as simple as renaming a bootanimation.zip file.
I'm trying to add the good ol energy star bios screen on to mine, had the same on my evo.

You might want to change the name of your thread. This has nothing to do with the bootloader.
I tried to change the boot animation file with an old boot animation file from the razr. Didn't work, still got the same stupid boot animation. that file didn't cause a problem either

I did the same thing, only I just tried altering the original images from the normal boot animation. There seems to be more than one location for the boot animation than just the system/customize/resource file location. If anyone can find it, let us know. I'd love to start making some custom boot animations for everyone.

A boot animation? No, I just wanted to know where to put them to actually get them to work. I like to make my own, but am used to Motorola phones. It was just one file location for those boot animations and really easy to change.
It should be in system /media
I have an Evo, but I know on some Evo ROMs it's in data/local. (I think on CM 7 Evo roms). Hope this helps at all.

Well, there's bootanimation.zip in system/media and hTC_bootanimation.zip in system/customize/resource. If I change the hTC boot, nothing happens. If I change the regular boot in media, it's just the htc splash screen and then it all goes black. Luckily it still starts. Not sure what would happen if I change both of them. Kind of afraid to now, haha.
try this one in system/media....

The bootanimation is in the system/customize/resource folder. It's Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip there is also one more called hTCbootanimation.zip in there as well. This is the first I seen a two stage boot animation. The easy was to change is to replace the vigor one and name the new one the same. If you want to change the location you will need to edit the default.xml in the system/resource/CID folder. For instance my bootanimation for my Rom is in system/media/anim folder now. Ofcourse the anim folder is one I created.
One last thing, if you don't delete the hTCbootanimation. You will continue to see the HTC quietly brilliant animation after the splash screen.
Hope this sheds light on the whole topic.

Hmm I wonder if this is specific to Chingy's rom or not. It doesn't seem to play the boot animation and just sticks at the white HTC screen. Although the phone does vibrate once, and if you hit the power button it turns the screen off during the white htc screen. Then if you turn the screen back on it plays the bootanimation for a few seconds before going to the lockscreen. I do see the edits in the default.xml to search for the bootanimation in the /system/media folders. I went in and saw the htcbootanimation in the system/ccustom/resource so I deleted that. Thought maybe that would fix the issue, but no dice. I even edited the default.xml to see if changing the boot animation path to system/customize/resource made a difference. I posted on his thread already, but wonder if anyone else has any ideas in the mean time :x.
Edit: the stock boot animation works without an hitch.... Ima check some permissions and see if that does anything.
