Calling skinners - htc lock screen request - Click Themes and Apps

im looking for a transparent lock screen as seen on the Eris and Htc hero.
something looking like this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=305585&d=1270676211

many thanks to anyone with the know how

i think it's possible creating a transparent 280*340 image in Photoshop and pass it to your SD. Then select it as LockScreen, but it's all thoughts..

nah this give us a black background unfortunately

Just make a screenshot of your desktop and put it as background for lock screen

hahaha, so simple
the problem is that i rearrange my icons too often

im working on customising the lock screen, just need to check some things with some theme gurus first.

Clear lockscreen

Themes not working properly on StarTrek

I have not been able to get one single theme / homescreen to load properly on my 3125. Still WM5 of course.
It is as if it pushes the image too far to the top so I have a black bar under all my backgrounds above the start menu.
I have a before and after image here.
The "hottie.jpg" is what it is supposed to look like
The "Lauren_Pope.jpg" is a picture of my phone with the homescreen installed.
Every homescreen I have tried does this. Notice the how the image looks pushed to the top of smashed and there is a black bar above the start menu.
Works fine on my phone. Just check if color scheme and background image in home screen menu are set to default.
(Im using the latest Cingular ROM.)
I think the reason I was having this problem was I was changing the background image. I found that if I leave it as "default" the theme works fine.
Thanks pimps
My favorite all time homescreen
This is my favorite homescreen I used this for several years back in the MPX200 days!!! I would like to share it with you guys.. There is one problem and I hope someone can fix it. The image / homescreen is 176x220 so it doesn't "FIT" the 240x320 newer smartphone size.
Hope you guys like it if you fix it please repost it here.!!!

This exact problem also exists on the Dash WM5 and is corrected on the WM6 release for the Dash. It seems to be a bug in the Settings/HomeScreen program that miscalculates the size of the image (making it too small) when choosing a background image other than Default.

Original Sprint Clock Modification

It seems that no one really like the original Sprint clock, but I think it looks much better. I was able to install it back on a custom rom and put a transparent background, it looks awesome. My question is, is there a way to change the color of the digits now and still leave it with the "glow"?
I think the digits on the clock of the stock Sprint ROM look nice, but it does not support displaying multiple appointments on the home screen. I think that's one of the reasons many of us switch to the flip clock.
If the Sprint clock supported multiple appointments, I would have kept using it. That and being able to change colors would certainly be nice .

So, from your knowledge, does that mean you can not change the color of the digits?

You are the man, thanks a lot for this! I noticed that the cab's you sent though still have the background colors on it when I install.....do i have to insert the transparent manila after I install these?
*edit* I figured it out. The original style Sprint clock must be on before you can apply these color changes. I had a flip clock on and then just tried to install your cab thats why that was happening. Thanks again man!
Move date in Stock Sprint TF3D Home?
I posted this over at PPCGeeks but received no love.
Has anyone figured out how to support multiple appointments with the Sprint Clock?
How do you get a a transparent background for the clock? (Which manila files?)
Can anyone tell me how to move the date from the original location in the first 1st screen cap to the top location in the 2nd screen cap?
I've tinkered a bit with the manila files (notice the sweet start orb and mini pic of myself circled in blue and white ), so if its just a matter of replacing a couple of those it should be pretty easy, thanks in advance!
I'm currently using GC_Touch_Pro_Kitchen_2.1.4 and its awesome. I simply replaced all manila files with the Full Stock Sprint Theme.
ok so how do i get the sprint clock back?

[Q] How to modify an already done theme ?

Hi,
There are some themes I love and I would like to use, but some details doesn't seem good to me, such as shortcuts. Is there any way to modify those shortcuts in order to make mine, but keep using the particular theme ? I didn't find anything about this...
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Editing a theme is easy - simply long press on the homescreen - select Advanced - Unlock Widgets. Now you can add/remove widgets and shortcuts till your hearts content. Then when you are satisfied with your theme repeat the process to lock the items into place

Awesome, thanks ! I was looking for this during hours... Didn't find anything on the Themer website :/
Another question, I have sometimes a pop-up with "crash data failed to send, retry later", but I can't find where to send it, and the pop-up doesn't disappear... I have to uninstall-reinstall the app in order to fix that... I have a One Plus One on CyanogenMod 11 38R
Semi related question, is there anywhere I can download images of the standard icons you use for smart categories? I like a lot of themes but would like to change the categories on them and to do that need the images to match the theme.
Thanks

Thanks for the info

First impressions and questions

Hi,
I have played with Themer and widgets last few hours, and it looks very nice. I have looked through the introduction videos, and they were informative, but there is always some information missing, and here is what I could not find:
How to lock widgets without right click?
When we unlock the widgets for editing, we need to lock them back. Every tutorial that I looked does this using right click on screen, but what if there is no place on screen available to right click (widget occupies to whole screen)?. I guess we could add one screen temporarily, lock the widgets, and remove the "dummy" screen, but I guess there should be some quicker method?
How to dock particular widget to appear on all screens?
I would like one widget to appear on all screens, something like a Dock on the stock Android. How to mark widget as docked (locked) on all screens?
How to preview a custom (exported) theme?
In the video tutorials it is said to put an image with the same name to thumbs folder (I noticed that it must be png also, not jpeg). However, this only shows the screenshot in the thumbnail preview of exported themes. What about when we select a particular theme, which opens a screen with Delete Apply choices? This preview is still blank screen, which means that it does not use the image from the thumbs. The same behavior is seen in the video tutorials.
How to know if there is an empty widget on screen?
For example, lets say that I have dropped a widget on the screen accidentally, and I did not place any element in it. This widget would be transparent by default. How can I see those widgets, so I can remove them?
Thanks.

Hi Goran,
So sorry for taking an incredibly long time to reply, I'm on a semi-vacation in Thailand at the moment and getting access to internet isn't easy. I'll try help as best I can.
1. Thanks for pointing this one out! The option to do this via the app drawer was removed in the last update, so I'll speak to the team about adding it in again. The only other way would be to enable the Themer notification bar, which has a Themer icon that brings up new themes. From here you can tap the back button to go into the Advanced Settings and then into Desktop.
2. This feature has been requested before, however it will take us a while to add it into Themer, as the resources required are quite vast to say the least. Hopefully in the new year we will have more time to focus on features like this. Right now the team is more focused on fixing bugs and improving the performance.
3. Another requested feature. We still want to improve the front end as much as possible before moving onto the back end. Trust me though we haven't forgotten about the designer side of Themer.
4. I've never heard of this feature before, but it sounds like a good one to have. I think because many users focus on adding widgets that instantly show information, it hasn't been as a priority. I'll speak to the team and see what they think.
I hope this has answered your questions. If you have any more just ask, I have a stable connection now and will be able to reply within the day.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Lock Screen Bug?

This is my first post here and I'll admit I'm not an XDA developer. I'm hoping someone could help fix my "bug" (#1 below). All three things below reference the lock screen and making the date & time more readable on it. The same issues might apply to Samsung Galaxy phones in general. I sent the below to Samsung, but I'm not holding my breath for them to reply.
My specs:
Samsung Galaxy Alpha SM-G850W. Running Android 5.0.2
1. If you change the clock size to Large on the Lock Scren. The clock size will not stay large if you have any notifications, it will reset to a normal sized font.
2. The color of the clock can't be changed, there needs to be a large black outline around the existing white text (currently it's a small black shadow). Since lollipop shows album art on the lock screen, you may get a pure white background and the clock nearly disappears.
3. The size of the date can't be enlarged. #2 also applies to the date.
I am willing to root with a new lock screen if that's necessary to fix but I'm not sure where to find info on available lock screens, I don't want to use the wrong one and break the phone. btw, I wasn't able to find a lock screen app as none that I tested had the features and speed of the default lock screen.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know about any lockscreen app that has all those things you need, but you can mod your stock lockscreen to get it all, but it contains some risk and of course some programming experience ( mostly smali and Java)

Thanks sdeepb. I'm pretty sure this is the only way to go, unless there's a pre-built lock screen you can easily swap out for rooted phones.
