dual sim cards - G1 Accessories

hi
Does anyone know if any digital dual simcards will work on the g1?
if so, what would be a good one to get?
thanks
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk

I tried a dual sim adapter, wouldn't fit
(did hardly fit into tytn 2)

Does anyone know something on this? I'm searching for a working dual sim adaptor. I tried the MagicSim 20th - A but it barely noticed one of the two Sim-cards... I think I'll try the 26th or 28th model, because people were reporting it worked.

hahahahahaahahaha thats what she said!!!!!!

Do search in the Captivate forum. I bought one and it works exactly as it should.
But be warned, its not as handy as you might think. I dont regret buying it but i dont use it very often.

Will my GNEX sim card fit in a Resound?

I'm trading my Gnex for a Rezound and was wondering do I have to get a new sim card or just swap out the one in my Gnex?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
In the least offensive way possible... ****'s free, it's not hard to get a new one... and no, SIM's dont work in other phones... and if all else fails for you, try an iPhone 4s, you might like it.

Yes, SIMs work in other phones, no need to be an asshole about it. In this instance though, the GNex uses a micro SIM and the Rezound a normal SIM. Buy an adaptor http://www.amazon.com/Micro-SIM-Cutter-Converter-adapters/dp/B003UEWF8I or get a new SIM.
I don't think he was complaining it was just a question if he could switch it or not. And that answer is no because razr and gnex use micro sim cards while the rezound uses a regular sim

Alright, so I got 1 wrong, but I knew they had different sized SIMs. Just figured all SIMs were specific to the device they were activated in, my bad. But why bother buying an adapter or anything for that matter when you can get as many SIMs as you want for free...
What are the advantages of using micro sims vs regular sims, From the videos on youtube people can just cut the regular one down and it works the same. So the regular one just has more excess plastic lol?

Pretty much. It's just size. Depends on the slot size the manufacturers decide to put in. No real difference and no real reason why....

It you go to a store they should swap your sim for a regular one. If you are going to be swapping back and forth though, getting the adapter is your best bet. Except for size, all 4g sims work the same.

Cause people don't want to go all the way down to the store every time you want to change phones.......
Buy a sim cutter and use an adapter . If all fails get a brand new sim ( though it should be fine).
Not need, I have a micro sim into my rezound and works fine
Micro sim chip its the same as normal one....soo I already use it on galaxy s2, Droid 3, evo 3d, Lumia 800 iPhone 4s and now rezound

You need an adapter. I just tried the micro sim from my iPad and it says "no sim".

Even if you don't wanna go all the way to the store, you can get SIMs from the website and they'll be there in a day or 2, as many as you want. And usually when you buy a phone, it comes with some sort of SIM card... off contract or not, usually it's in the box. Unless you buy it off the street, it should come with something.

My buddy works for AT&T and said there are none in stock but he is going to check the shipment in the morning and tell me. So no, not many of the employees know. In fact all that I have talk to so far have been just as much in the dark as we are

They may have the 64gb at the store tomorrow, I'm just going by what I see being offered on their website. They'd be crazy not to, I mean wasnt a 64gb offered for the htc one x launch? No black is disappointing enough.
im an recently hired employee for att and i checked before leaving work my store and other in the area have no 64's in silver or black at this time
I am an employee for at&t and we got 20 silver 32gb and two 64gb in stock. Hope this helped.

I'm on AT&T, are there any unforeseen consequences to doing this?
I just want to make sure I don't screw myself.

I did it and it was painless. I had my concerns but someone on another forum recommended a reputable dealer "e-bagel-tw" on eBay. He accepted my "best offer" price and the shipping was free. Since it's an international phone, it has to have AT&Ts LTE enabled after you get it. Some people have been panicking thinking they're stuck with 3G, but it's perfectly compatible once you download and install the right files.

Do you know a reliable source for these files? Just getting my ducks in a row.
I'm also on AT&T. I will say that I'd you don't already have the correctly enabled sim card, the system will give you a 3G only one of they enable the Z2 in your account. I had to go back and get them to fake the system into thinking I siding a different model so that it would provision LTE on my account.
Other than that, turn on LTE in the settings and use the system software to download the Internet settings and you're golden.
FYI, I dealt with the same seller and have the same comments about how great he is.

I wish I was paying more attention at the time. I took the phone to a local AT&T device support location in NYC when I realized I was not receiving data. The tech there couldn't figure it out at first either which is when mild panic started to set in and I backed off to let him fiddle with it. Eventually, he had a eureka moment when he stumbled upon a setting that required the download of a little file that allows the phone to connect to US LTE carriers. AT&T was one of the choices. Now in my phones settings: tools...wireless networks...more...internet settings...accept...and one of the three choices is ATT.
I'm going to order one as well. Probably will use the same seller.

Samsung S5 question

I think I am in the correct forum for this question, if not I apologize.
I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5, but there are a couple of things about it that is making me wonder if I got screwed on the deal.
I traded the phone for another phone that I had that I really did not use much. This Galaxy I got is model SM-G900F. I was told that my AT&T sim card will operate just fine with it. Well it does to some extent. It only shows H+ no 4g or 4g lte or anything. Also on the front of the phone it kind of reads SAMSUNG but its in some sort of "funky" letters. Weird. And there is no gasket on the back cover for water proofing. There is a cover on the USB port. I am just wondering if its a "real" samsung phone or some kind of knock-off???
