[Q] Disassemble Legend? - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anybody tried to disassemble a Legend yet? Are there any pictures of the insides below the top plastic cover on the backside?
There are some pictures at mforum.ru but there are not shots of the most interesting part - just the aluminum case before and after.
Sorry I'm not allowed to post the link but google for "HTC Legend no disassemble".

How brave you are!!!! By the way, how have you dismantle it??? I can´t see screws in the upper side??

Cool, thanks!
I guess you need to lift up both plastic covers to get to the screws.

Hi, show us how did you do it, please..

great pictures shown there!!
can i confirm if the wifi antenna and the gps antenna are located on the top plastic (camera area) while the phone antenna is on the battery cover??
or are the wifi and gps antennas all the same, located on the battery cover??
thanks for the answer in advance.. haha.. this can help me decide what areas to hold on to the phone for specific tasks..

Admin - please verify ASAP !

You have to push on the phones bag side to get the display forward and up, be careful not to bend the metal by the microphone in the top.

I really dont know how to get it out the right way..Piece of S***!!!!

Reduced colors with WM6 ???

Hi cracks,
Just read somewhere in another thread that somebody was asking about the bad colors of WM6 and that it was much better under WM5.
But now it is even not possible with downgrading to WM5 to get the right settings back.
This is the same for me (S200 G4). All pictures and movies are looking bad just as you would have not enough colors anymore.
Any idea what it is or how to solve that?
Am I really the only one having this problem?
Is there perhaps a registry setting for adjusting that?
Thanks,
Boris
I would like to know the answer too
I also have the same problem. Anybody knows a solution?
My screen got fixed.
After resetting to WM5 I still had the problem. But after Hard resetting twice it's fixed. Boris03, Could you confirm this. I would like to upgrade again but not at the cost of busting my graphics, So I don't want to experiment again. Thanks
Problem back again
After a few minuts when I turned it on again, the problem was back. So I'm sorry for the wrong info, but it was fixed for a few miutes for sure.
are you guys talking about camera pictures & vidz ? if so, it's just that your device is overclocked while it shouldn't.... if not, describe your problem better so that someone can answer it... post screenshots... help yourself.
Screen shots
I am speaking of the windows screens actually. It is not noticable on all screens but ones with gradient shades show it and also where there are menu buttons. I took Lastnikita's advice and took screen shots.......... but on my PC the screens look perfect.
I'll try to explain what I see on my PPC. In terms of RGB, it looks like the blue has shifted from the rest of the colors a bit to the right. This is noticable in menu buttons where the left half looks pinkish while the blue overlaps the button boundary and sticks out the right. In gradient colors i.e. the contacts screen there is a blue column on the laft of the screen and a lot of pink around the middle. The effect looks like a low bitrate image. Maybe I can use a seperate camera to take a picture.
I have downgraded after using Touch X ROM and am now using 2.20.7.34 WWE ROM.
Thanks.
If you used a software screenshot, it would have taken an image of what was supposed to be shown. To me it sounds like a hardware fault rather than a driver related issue.
Yes. I just found this out and I was thinking the same thing. But the similarity of the problem looked strange. Maybe the problem is not the same either. Thanks.
Thanks for the advice. I just opened up my Neo and undid the ribon to the display then plugged the ribon back in. It's fixed. Thanks everybody.

Wow, very luckly, I have same problem. Can u guide in detail for me? What is the ribon? If have pics is better. Thanks!
I'd like to help. But are you willing to risk of opening up your PDA? I was desperate.
This will void your warranty.
I tried to write a description but it's too hard
The basic idea is to open up the back. 2 screws are visible under the battery cover the other two are under the Camera cover plate which is the only hard part to remove. It has catches on both sides near the bottom edges. If this is opened then you can see the other 2 screws. Once unscrewed you can take off the back panal. It also has some catches but they give in to a little pressure in the joining gap. I used my nails to liver it. The back has to be taken away carefully as the speaker is connected to this and you don't want to break the wire. Once this is open and you place the back cover beside the unit so the wire is not streached you can start working on the ribbon.
You'll see a copper ribbon just above the IR port connecting to the motherboard. It is locked with a clip. You can unlock the clip by ..................
I'm not sure you're interested anymore. . Let me know if you are.
It would be better with pictures or MSN maybe.
I don't know if this forum has a rule against giving out MSN IDs.
well, maybe I should bring my Neo to the store (still warranty more 6 months left ^-^). I only used PDA for more 1 month, so I don't know much about them. Concern to hardware maybe I can't do well as you ^-^.
Thank you very much for helping me!
I am from Vietnam, so my English is bad. I don't know the following is true or not? ^-^
God help you!
Bad colors since WM6
Hi all,
I cannot believe that this should be a cable problem. It was just since I was upgrading to WM6 and the downgrade is not solving the thing anymore.
It is just like you display a video or pictures with 16Mio Colors on a 16Color display. And before the same video and pictures looked brilliant.
On other thing is that e.g. the background pictures (theme) from Gullum are looking bad as well.
And also I can see the background colors flickering a little bit from time to time. Again this is since i upgraded the first time to WM6.
S200 G4, No overclocking.
Thanks,
Boris
The easy way to check out if its a cable problem is by taking screen shots. If they look good on the PC then chances are very high that it is a physical problem and just might be a cable problem. If they are the same on the PC as on the PPC then it obviously is not a similar problem to mine.
Thanks

Sticky buttons...

Hi all,
I unfortunately drop some coke on my HTC HERO. It is still fully working but the hard buttons are sticky now and it's quite hard to push on them.
Does somebody knows how to disassemble the phone? I removed the 6 screws but I don't know how to take the cover or anything else of...
Or maybe there is another solution to clean the whole thing ?
Thank you in advance.

[Q] Does anyone know how to replace touch Screen glass on sony Ericsson Xperia Neo

Does anyone know how to replace touch screen glass on sony Ericsson Xperia Neo

I also have this problem, if you have sorted this can you let me know how you went about this.
Thanks, tjpearson
i have a link to video on Yt.Pm me
i have no permission to able link from outside forum.
Thanks for reply
That would be good, I've mailed you.
If and when I repair this phone I'll create a slide show with instructions, already done that for a few gadget repairs.
The latest is detailed view on how to solve the A/C cut out with Compaq Presario R3000 if anybody is interested, saved me £300 plus doing it myself.
Help is what these forums are all about.
I have the service manuals with lots of pics and details to fix neo. I don't know if I can upload them here. Maybe you can find help in those. Google them or pm me your email if you need them.
I actually have the manual as well, devrruti but sadly it doesn't provide much info on how to stick the touch screen back to the frame, only tells us to use something like a "pressure tool" set at 60N and press the touchscreen towards the frame.
But we don't have that kind of tool so there must be a workaround...
DO NOT try to change the touch screen yourself, unless you first find a way to safely detach the touch screen from the front face body of the Neo.
I tryied myself and have not yet managed to separate the two things, it seems it is glued or something like that.
If anyone finds out the way to pull it off, please let me know.
I managed to find a similar guide, but for the Xperia Play. It's a different device, but it's probably based on the same principals. http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-Sony-Xperia-Play-Digitizer/7593/1 ... BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS!
I managed to disassembe the device. The problem that I have now is that I cannot prevent dust from getting in between the lcd display and the touch screen glass at the moment I connect them back.
Any ideas? any practical recipe to avoid dust?

[Q] Problem of backplate?

Hello everybody,
First of all ı apologize for my english if ı mention wrong
Nowadays ı m planing to buy HTC Amaze 4g but my friend told me like that when he was using Htc Amaze the main body is starting to play with time inside the backplate. He means you can feel like springy.
So anybody have as a problem like this?
It is just the way the phone is designed. It isn't a back plate like you might think. Other than a little at the bottom the "back plate" is the entire silver part around the screen - sides, top, back and the black at the bottom. The screen glass sits up in the middle of it. Therefore there is bound to be a little "springy-ness" to it due to tolerances. However I don't notice it during normal use at all. You can feel it if you pinch it front to back. If it was bothersome I'd guess a thin shim of paper would take up any tolerance slack.
Thanks for your answer.I think my friend is so sensitive.
in any case ı want to get my amaze as soon as possible
