Clear Default Phone Number

I mistakenly set my wife's cell number as her "default" number. Therefore, that number is automatically dialed when I click on her contact widget.
Question #1: Is there any easy way to CLEAR that default number setting so that I am given the list of all of her numbers when I click her contact widget again?
<As a workaround, I am aware that I can delete her cell number and retype it. Just looking for an easier way!>
Question #2: Is it possible to have the default text phone number be different from the default dialing phone number?
Press and hold the number that you want to make default. A menu should popup saying "Mark As Default", click on it.
As for Default Text Number, I'm not sure that it exsists....
Good Luck!

Thanks, I know I can do that but my goal is to clear the default number and NOT set another one as the default.
1 widget does both
it is not hard to just delete the widget then long press on screen select widget then select contact quick task select contact (your wife),then on home screen click the + button for phone, select her name, pick which number you want it to dial then hit done, then do the same for text click the + button for which text number(can even be a different phone number) you want to text to, hit done and you will have a widget that you can do either phone or text her from the home screen.

[Q] contact icon is missing

I dont know what happen. I woke up one morning and the contact icon on the bottom of the home screen is gone. I usualy have four icons there. Phone contact messaging and application. But now i only have three. I still could see contact icon inside application. how do i fix it?
Open application drawer, menu, edit, long press the relevant icon and put it back? Or similar, I forget the exact order of things in TW.
how do i do that? im running on stock ics. I didnt root
I just told you? What's unclear and why are you going on about root?
In the 'Phone contact messaging and application', click on the application icon.
press the 'menu/options' button - this is the left of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the phone. this will pop-up a menu. Select 'Edit' from this menu.
You can now move all the icons about. You can move icons from page to page and also from the page to the 'Phone contact messaging and application'.
Once you have changed it to the way you want it, select the 'menu/options' button and select Save.
This has been already answered, but I thought I would make it a bit clearer. There is no requirement to root the phone for this as it is a standard feature of Android.

You do realize that the options menu scrolls, right.. ?
Once the contacts app is opened again, the sim contacts will show again.
THis thing is driving me crazy.
That contacts to display option wont stick, at least in my rom Omega 13.1.

Phone number shortcut

When I first got my note2 I was able to create phone number shortcuts with the pic of the person. I am now on vramc3 and have not been able to find the create a shortcut button. Anyone know how to do do this or where the option is now?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for....
If you press and hold the screen, there is a shortcut arrow, click that and the next menu look for direct dial. That should take you to your contacts and as long as you have already have the persons picture in your contacts, touch the contact and the shortcut should be created.

Thanks, I wasn't sure which screen you meant. Turns out I have to go to my phone number Favorites. Long click on the person I want. At the bottom of the menu that pops up there is the arrow and, "add shortcut to home" message. If you have a pic with with the favorite number it goes with it. G

Sort Favorite Contacts

Is there a way to sort favorites? I don't even know how they are sorted.

What firmware are you on? Mine definitely lets me organise them up and down. I'd do a screen recording but I have pictures and names set in my favourites that I'd prefer the whole internet not to see

I was about to say "yes, it definitely works" - but alas, it only appears to work - after clicking the tick on the top-right corner (presumably to save), they revert back to their previous order.
FWIW, I'm using a Mate 10 ALP-L29 with 8.0.0.128(C636) firmware.

Same here. Once you tick the sorting is gone.
I just discovered this, after I had absolutely same issue with the same phone:
In Chrome open contacts.google.com, where you can edit and organize all your contacts.
In the left menu click on your starred/favourites,
Deselect all contacts that have, until now, been selected as favourites, but don't click on anything else after this.
In your phone, go to Settings > Users & Accounts > Google > [your Google account] and hit "Sync". After a short while, your phone's favourites should be empty.
Back to Chrome, mark a contact as a favourite (add the star to its name), then hit "Sync" in your phone"s settings, then check in your phone contacts. That contact should now be the first on your favourites' list. Then go and repeat that with the second and third contact and so on. After each sync, the favourite contact should appear in your phone's favourites in the order you have selected them as favourites.
Moreover, now you can rearrange them in your phone without the arrangement being reset every time you hit the check icon!
