The camera has no preview so you will be shooting blind.
Keyboard issues are still there... I suggest a good VK replacement like Smart Keyboard Pro.

I fixed Wifi / Touchscreen & got video loading correctly, so it's not all 100% Kanged from CM6 source..
Which btw @everyone.
New build coming shortly, nothing much else fixed but the light sensor is now fixed & auto brightness now works 100%

I think I'll pass on this ROM. I haven't loaded up a ROM on my slide yet, I haven't been on the forums a lot and am behind the power curve a little. I'm still weeding through some of the back log trying to pick out a good ROM to load. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the rom, i've been contemplating trying to compile from source, but its still over my head. Good luck with the newborn,they're.....fun. It gets better after about 6 months though.

was looking at the how to put a rom on your slide post but everytime i do step 8 it just say installation was aborted.

i really like the sense ui btw.just hate the apps that came with the phone.
same boat, i went with slidemeroot2. once you get familiar with adb, there are lots of guides on how to remove apps, and which once are safe to remove. im waiting for cm6 before i go senseless

After lurking for awhile (and playing in the kitchen), I thought I should give out to the community for once.
I know that we already have two of the same Froyo sense ROM around... and unfortunately... this will look exactly like Miguel's and Whoareyou's Froyo Sense... except this version has WiFi (no hotspot), defaulted APN settings, and other apps installed for your convenience.
I'm nowhere near any dev's level in terms of deving (in fact I'm not even a dev. I just ported this because I can), but hey, I do what I can to help.
Here's a summary of this rom:
Ported from Legend's Gratiend ROM, and official froyo rom too.

Minor update. Major issues are still not fixed...
But added data2ext:moving the whole /data to the ext partition. Right now only supports ext2, and has to have 4kb blocksize (adb shell mke2fs -m0 -b4096 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2)
type in data2ext --enable in adb shell, then reboot. You MUST have a fast sdcard (class 6) to make this worthwhile; otherwise you will just lag real bad.

Did you try out an alternative Wifi Tether method, like Barnacle? Just because the wifi app in the Sense rom doesn't work doesn't mean that tethering itself doesn't work lol.
ALSO, could you possibly include the KB light app that someone mentioned in Miguel's thread? Apparently it forces the KB lights into working.

The app is on market. It does not work how you are expecting...basically you add a widget that turns the lights off and on ondemand.

You mind sharing how you fixed wifi? I had a couple ideas but I've been so busy I haven't worked on anything in weeks. What I had in mind was hex editing libhardwarelegacy.so (don't remember if that's exactly what it was called, it's been a while since I've poked around) to call our proper wifi module, but I never really got time to even try.

Barnacles actually reboot the phone upon tethering... dunno why.
Was the kb app called backlight off?

This is gonna make me sound dumb but the truth is i didn't do any hex editing... All I ended up doing is porting through kitchen, and extracted the boot.img and make the legend rom look like the espresso rom. LOL
Speaking of which, anybody knows why landscape doesn't work on homescreen?

because the rom was for a keyboardless phone so there wasnt any landscape pics added to make it look right when forced into that mode

Have, System Contolled disabled.
And, Disable Backlight on Boot enabled.

I pretty much extracted the boot.img from kitchen and renamed the init.legend.rc to init.latte.rc... pretty sure that wasn't it though...

i figured it was only fitting to use alpharevx boot animation. after all we wouldn't have roms if it wasn't for them right. lol but thanks. ill have more links up soon. my connection is fast on the dl. but a turtle on the up .

EDIT.............. i attached my systemui.apk i added back in the clock to the one attached. if someone wants to make a flashable zip feel free. other wise just adb push. if i get time i will make one.but honestly i don't know what the hell today holds.

Love the smoothness of this ROM, overall fast and nice!! Just a thing, my Wi-Fi icon is a little weird in the sense that it only lights the blue orb at the bottom of it (I think the curved gray lines are supposed to become white to inform of signal strength?). This is about the only "issue" so far with this ROM, otherwise this is perfect (of course, havent tested battery life yet).

try redownloading. i had that issue early on and fixed. did you grab it when it first went live? i noticed it with in the first few hrs. fixed and uploaded.they become blue.just like the bottom. let me know how you make out. if you know how to adb push i can upload the systemui for you.

So what is new and what is borked?
-SMS Split stops your amount of characters at 160, going to look into this later, just download go SMS lol

Well, not only 3g but I broke mobile network period. I had it earlier today but it was when I was on another version. I've been working on this all day so I'm done for tonight but I'll look into mobile network first, then camera.
This has a lot of potential! I want to try it, but I'll wait till camera and data is working. Thanks for bringing this to the 3d!

that would be great! I'm trying to find why I've lost data. Do you know if that is controlled in the framework, because i've narrowed it down to there but every file size in system/framework is different than in the base, so I'm looking at some time and trial & error to find the problem unless I get a hint on where to start
I would guess camera problem is in there too...

What did you change in between the versions that potentially killed cam and 3g?
Kinda cool!
Flashed fine for me. Did 4EXT wipe all partitions except SD and flashed the ROM only. The gapps were already there.
Tablet mode for the home screen is a little strange with the status bar at the bottom and the app drawer icon at the top, but I guess that's the way it's supposed to be. My tablet is still running HoneyComb so I'm not familiar with ICS on a tablet.
Definitely has promise and can add some sizzle to Devil Toast if you can work out the remaining problems.

Apearantly left out some stuff from the build.prop. Mobiledata/3g is working now. Camera still won't start but it hasn't worked for me yet so hopefully digital can help with that.
I'll be uploading .41 soon with data fix

Chrome Beta is working in .41, and I guess Wifi Tether just doesn't work as a system app because it's working fine as user app.
